I really did find this ages ago when the family did a trip to SA and back.
Struth! I found this with team 4as1 ages ago. (The S's, Charlie_bear, Me_to and me, Scruffyblake.)

No wonder I had troubles today. Always thought it was too close to ASIO in anycase
Hmmm - checked on this today, and the entire tree was gone - Cache and all! - They did a good job too, there is no way you could see there was ever a tree there! Doesn't the council need to check with geocachers first, before willy nilly cutting down trees? Anyways, will archive this one, and may set up something new nearby one day.
I've had a look and am in agreement with the previous two cachers - it certainly looks to have been pruned into non-existence. I promise that despite recent efforts (you'll have to ask Diadem about that one!) I am not responsible for obliterating this hide!
Thanks anyway, Tankengine

I was very lucky to have the opportunty to visit your country in October and November. In that period I was able to visit/find you, which made me more happy.
Thanks for maintaining this cache and showing me the nice spot in your beautiful country.

Had a good look around with a bird very interested in what I was doing but could not find it. Looks like some maintenance has been done recently.
I'll try again another day and hope to have better luck.

Hmm, after finding a good park and cache at nearby Blundells I blundered up here, still watching the approaching storm. Hint says it's hanging, only one likely looking spot with hanging capability, GPS reading however put me at another tree at the base of which are two cut off to ground level stumps about 7" diameter and other similar signs of clearing activities
I'm out with my mate Knightech, having breakfast and finding a cache or two. I've been crook, and have not been doing much caching lately. It's a pretty nice day, and here we go.
This was another easy find, after a nice walk.
Find no 2 of 3 today.
Thanks, Tankengine

Plenty of swopping birds and cars made this one a very lively find.

Took the geo-son to cockington green for the morning and he absolutely loved it (hes just turned 3). After that a few caches then a milkshake in the city then a few more caches then off to the war memorial for dad to see the new special forces exhibition then off home. Great day and a good handful of caches.
Thanks Tankengine. The geo toddler always loves going to nearby kings park.

Having a flying visit to Canberra for work for the rest of the week. Checked into my hotel and grabbed a taxi to get to the War Memorial before it closed. Had a very pleasant walk back, and managed to grab a few caches along the way - which was quite a feat given all the muggles out enjoying the evening. Quick find and sign of the log, after having just completed Blundell's Backyard. *TFTC Tankengine #227*
Found this on the way back from the airport, between meetings. Quick find. TFTC TE
2nd look in the dark but bagged it tonight #8 after a wander around Campbell.

I walked around for a little bit... for a second I thought I would be very exposed to Parkes Way.... not easy to be stealthy when next to one of Canberra's major roads. Eventually my GPSr settled down and I knew which trees it was going to be in... and sure enough there it was
Last day of our adventure and now with really sore legs. Lots of interesting caches while doing the centenary trail. Canberra is really best done on bike!

Found while visiting to ride the Canberra Centenary Trail with my Ventures. TFTC.
A very pleasant Sunday stroll near the pleasant lake in this pleasant town. In this quiet corner of the park I was able to easily find a rather pleasant cache (I do like these containers). TFTC:-)

#3370 1st find at about 11PM on a long weekend heading down the coast to Bega/Merimbula. I had to get this one to fill a calendar hole. Funny how there are always cars at Blundell's Cottage carpark, no mater what time of day.
It was just basics tonight: a smartphone and pen which made if difficult to sign the log, but a straightforward find in the end. Let's hope the weekend goes as well.
Thx TE

Took the opportunity between meetings to stop by here and nab this cache on a return to GZ after version 1. Spotted the now familiar container at about 500 this afternoon. This find knocked off another gap in the geocaching calendar, only two to go!
Thanks Tankengine

I found it easily, but am now under ASIO surveillance. My pen wouldn't work, but they might see my scratchings. Nice container!

A nice sunny afternoon to stop and pick this one up. Just needed one find to fill in a gap in my caching calendar. TFTC
While visiting Canberra for a couple of days, it was nice for us to head back to this very familiar spot and see that it has a new caching life.
We knew exactly where to look and soon had the log signed.
Thanks Tankengine,

Delightful, ta. The scene this lovely Sunday brought to mind an old book I'm reading (Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow). About the nearby chimes is written, on p 118, that "they say anyone can get permission to play the bells in the tower. That's certainly the impression you get" ...
Sunday 13 August - a glorious sunny Winter's afternoon that could have been confused as a Spring day with the Golden Wattle making a slow appearance after one of our coldest season in 32 years. The temperature was easily in the mid teens and a light cool breeze every now and then reminded you that it was still Winter. Picked up this one cache on the way to the airport knowing exactly where to go having been fooled by the original bird cache thinking it was real and being very careful to not disturb its peace. Oh well - soon realised otherwise. Now off to the Gold Coast for the foreseeable future with family. TFTC Tankengine.
After the two town cachers I came out here in the dusk. I am sure I was here before, but no problems today.
Thanks.

TFTC good to see another new cache in this area. Thanks for replacing the old cache
Found on a chilly and breezy morning. After parking next to the cottage, I dashed up the hill to a very familiar GZ - such a shame that the old multi is gone now! A quick find with a lovely lake view. TFTC TE!
Last one for the day. Strolled up from the cottage to make a quick find. TFTC Tankengine.
Took some time after a dinner with some mate to find few close by cashes. First to find...the new log. TNLNSL TFTC
Was in the area, so decided to replace the log. Old log attached. Cachers that didn't sign or provide a pic/explanation, deleted.
14408. Found this one with GSC2000 and Stardust 2410 and a bunch of others !
A slightly big push up to this one after the event today. Having found the original this was a quick find. It took longer for everyone to sign than the find took - lol !
Thanks Tankengine !!

It's really convenient to have a lot of cachers around at these events. You just have to get within a hundred meters or so and you can spot someone is signing the cache. All you have to do is ask them to let you sign before they return the log. QED

found this one with the Pirates of Canberra after attending a great Pirate event nearby. tftc Tankengine
Found with ALL7, another cacher after the Pirates Ahoy! event. TFTC. Tankengine
ACTchil, GeoGlors and I had just attended the Pirates Ahoy! event and met up with a lot cachers and afterwards a team of us "Pirates of Canberra" decided to go and find this replacement cache, we took the geohounds, Koda, Banjo and Freda with us and they had a great little walk. We saw RapidlyWild ahead of us so knew we were heading in the right direction. Another great hide tftc Tankengine
#7541 - 15:10; After attending the nearby event, I teamed up with some fellow cachers and headed over to grab this cache. We wandered along the lake's edge not paying particular attention, until one of the crowd said, 'Is anyone guiding us in?'. I looked towards what I later confirmed was GZ and saw a couple of scurvy dogs, so headed in their direction. They skedaddled before we arrived, but my hunch proved correct and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC Tankengine
After stowing my pirate attire in my car, I headed off for a walk around the lake with a couple of detours along the way. This was the first, and as I was signing the log, a couple of others came along for a very easy find! TFTC.
Found yesterday. .without a scribe. Found again today..with a scribe. .and on another branch! HOTA
Found with Coybear2000, Decrypter and another cacher after the Pirates Ahoy! event. TFTC.

After attending the Pirates Ahoy! event a group of us went t find this new version of an old cache.
Lots of chatting and planning on the way to the cache on a beautiful day. We signed as Pirates of Canberra so as not to fill up the log sheet in one hit.
Thanks for the cache and keeping it alive Tankengine

The original version of this cache was a pleasure to find, sad to see that it has now been archived! Thanks for making a replacement cache however, brought back some memories and I was able to go straight to the cache as it is very close to where the original was placed!
A quick find as I got here early to secure a close park for the nearby event!

We all headed off to find another cache by Tankengine. Good walk in the winter sun. TFTC
I had forgotten exactly where this one was - all I had to look for the was the crowd of post-event cachers. Arrived just in time to sign the log before it was packed away.
I remember domsky's original cache was a little creepy - this one, not so much. TFTC Tankengine

After attending the event, I dashed off and made a bee-line towards this one. Having found the previous version, I knew where I was heading which made things easier
Cache located quickly, signed and replaced. Heading back to the geomobile, there were groups of cachers heading over towards this one, seems I beat the "mob" lol.
Thanks for placing a new cache here TE, wouldn't wanna be doing this one at night with torches, would stir up the neighbors over the road I believe.

I was on my way to the pirate event and found a park very close to this cache, so a quick find and on my way to the event. Thanks Tankengine
Like a lot of others we headed over this one while at the nearby event. No problems spotting the cache and once the log was in hand, we all managed to get our initials on it.
Thanks TE......a bird in the hand is worth two in bush....or something like that.

It was -1 degrees when I left the hotel for my big walk this morning. I love walking around the parliamentary circle and Lake Burley Griffin and do this walk every time I come to Canberra. This time I had a bunch of solved puzzles and a lust for multi-caches, which made my walk around 14km long. A coffee truck nearby was my saviour! Thanks for the cache, Tankengine.

Another green dot on my list. Some friendly AFP drove past while I was signing the log. Despite the cache name,I did not 'flip the bird' towards them! TFTC, tankengine.
I cycled to the lake to find a few caches and start a large multicache. Tricky, as the cache wasn't hanging (though attached); rather tucked up out of sight. I re-hid it the way I found it. TFTC Tankengine.
Bit of a chilly night, but a quick find amongst the branches thankfully. Signed as quick as I could, so that I could get my gloves back on. Tftc Tankengine!!!
Oh no, it looks like Blundells Bird has morphed into a cold black cylindrical object, talk about some weird magic.
Spotted it on approach and logged signed as a convoy of Segways passed by along the lake.
