Mount Peel BushlandWe also made a stop here during our cacher tour. We parked the cachemobile at the car park, put on our hiking boots and packed our rucksack with water and food. Now we started our hike in Mount Peel Bushland. On the way we enjoyed the beautiful nature and the many beautiful caches. Thanks for the funTeam sissifalke
Travelled up to Clifton via West Haldon and from there, out towards Leyburn to do some tree fishing caches. Then I travelled north towards Toowoomba to finish off some outstanding caches at Mount Peel Bushland Park.Back to mop up the last of the Mount Peel Bushland Park caches. Off trail to nab this cache. Great spot with terrific view. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; Iceland Geocoin ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2163.
A tough slog through the lantana and log signed. Definitely suggest approaching this from the west. TFTC
My advice is not to bushwhack up to the track to the (apparently) nearby View cache. There are thickets of low scrubby areas. This cache is on the edge of a thicket and a fine find, and the view is well worth it too, but bring a machete perhaps or walk the long way. Voice of experience. TftC.
A wee bit of a late log, found this some time ago but forgot to log it
Nice spot, good view, not too hard to get to.

Looking at the map, Shazzar66 and I decided to ‘go bush’ and ignore the trail map. By now my phone was dead, so I was caching ‘blind’. Leaving the paths here probably wasn’t the wisest idea, because we met a fair bit of lantana, but we trudged on.

With a couple of geocaching event on the calendar in Toowoomba this weekend, Duppers and I decided to head on Friday. After a am knock off from work, I headed over and picked up my geocaching buddy. A quick stop for coffee and brunch, we were soon on our way to Toowoomba.
Peel mountain was our target area for the day.
Quick find at this location. Everything is in good condition.

A bit of a maze to get to but I finally made it.

Great walk to GZ with Muggle65 and Brislions. Cache found with no problems. Thank you for bringing us here
Out scouring The Toowoomba area today with Bris& . We targeted a few niche D/T caches for today. The furthest one to find at the Mountain today
Another day, another adventure! Delighted to get my name on all the logs around Mt.Peel on this fabulous sunny day exploring with Wayn0. My caution-o-meter is always on alert as this is prime creature country. Well as I was admiring the hoppers nearby, my eye caught something move at my feet and I looked down to see a brown danger noodle slithering away having almost been stood on! Thankfully it was going the opposite way to the cache and we got our names on the log whilst living to the tale. TFTC
Out and about adventuring with my Irish geo-buddy. We found this one on route to Mount Peel. Thanks for the cache.

Thick lantana presented
A challenge to reach it
But soon a way 'round it was found
Some cross-country trecking
I'll find it I reckon
And there it is all safe and sound.

Found and saw some grey boomers on the way, log was very mouldy but still able to be signed. Didn’t have a spare logbook or ziploc bag with me to assist in replacing.

Headed out to Toowoomba for a day of caching with Peppa and this was our target area.
Battled our way through to GZ to make an easy find which was a nice change from our last DNF. Found the easier way out as a group of muggles walked past. Before that I think we had the mountain to ourselves.

July is all about challenges thanks to the latest Georode Monthly Challenge in Brisbane… and Mt Peel is rich in unsigned challenges…
So I assembled a group of willing Brisbanites, and a plan was hatched for today…. A couple withdrew leaving just nikid1 and I to enjoy the glorious weather and environment up here on the range…
This is one of those locations that proves that the direct route, is not always the best route…
We took the direct route in… it involved some cuts, a little bleeding and at one point being on my hands and knees… I did see a kangaroo though…
At GZ as I was preparing to do battle with the Lantana again that nikid1 pointed out the lesser T rated exit strategy…

Scared a few boomers in my search for this one.. they also scared me as every time I didn't see them until I heard them jumping away.
Inside the cache is quite damp... I'm assuming condensation as it seems to seal well.

We did spot plenty of grey boomers on our trek around this reserve. We were able to add our names to the log sheet.

On a great walk in this bushland area, we continued our journey further away from the starting point and made a find here. The weather was beautiful, and in the spring time the grass was an emerald green, and the flowers were purple along the way. A happy morning out with Willis007 .

After having spent the last 2 days caching in, north and south of Oakey with a great caching crew, and having a 4 day weekend, it was an easy decision to make to stay an extra night in Toowoomba to cache through Mt Peel with Domsky.
We made our way to gz, walking through some very long grass and stumbling on a track which wasn't visible on our maps. Cache was quickly found, we signed the log and continued our journey.
Thanks MalDawg for placing the cache here.

Found this with the youngest geokid on my shoulders as he was tired from the walk up the steep hill for the previous find. We spotted 6 little roo's during our walk this morning.
Co-ords are spot on for this one too, log is dry with plenty of room for the next cachers.

Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers and Lisylou). The coords were spot on. TFTC!
Nice quick find with bennyboppers and mnance101 today. Out for a walk on a beautiful day, picked up lots of cobblers pegs on way from the track. Tf5c
Out doing a bit of a walk with Mrs Wallabies Mum and Zelda the Woofy Wanderer and we came upon this wee beast, Wallabies and Roo's often get along, so this one was kind enough to let us venture over and make a nice easy find... nice being back in the area.. even as tourists we love Mt Peel.. thanks for the cache MalDawg
Found this one (after disturbing 3 local kangaroos). Living up to its name! Tftc.
Not 6, but I did spot 2 kangaroos nearby through the mist. Made me feel I was in Tasmania more than in QLD!
Today was the second day of my little journey to outback Queensland. While I’m not in a hurry, I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit. It won’t be hard to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day challenges for the next few days, I am also hoping to pick up a few new challenges along the way and some target caches too.
My plans today were to walk the caches of Mt. Peel and then head west, plus grab a couple of extras as I passed by. A nice morning for a walk around Mt. Peel with a little water and a couple of snacks I was off to see Toowoomba from a different angle. An absolutely spectacular walk and the views from here, both hills were just awesome. In all it took just over 3 hours and I wasn’t racing to complete; I did all but two of the caches in this area. I do have some new lantana scratches from where I cleaned up some paths / trails as a memento.
All good with this cache and with it found and log signed I returned it as found, thanks for placing it here, now it’s time for a couple others in Toowoomba before heading west.

These six boomers proved no match for us as we powered through on our clean up mission. I am loving the little flowers all through here.
No boomers spotted today by the JAGET group. Only spotted the odd wallaby and various bird life. The ladies were more interested in the wild flowers and the horses spotted later in the day. Thanks Maldawg for setting up this cache.
Wild flowers in bloom A weekend in Toowoomba collecting some caches and views Thanks for placing this cache.
Having collected a select few caches here while in the area last time, we were back to get the rest. A great day for a walk. TFTC!
Mrs Woodyrothwell only carries a small purse compared to a lot of ladies but she seems to pack a lot of essential stuff into it. In fact sometimes I think her small purse is like a TARDIS. I know she doesn’t carry any money because it’s always spent before she has it but there always seems room for my credit card. Some of the key items in there are:
- a squashed up tissue (always good for when I’m crying after a DNF)
- a pen (definitely needed for caching)
- a 3 year old receipt (always good for a replacement log except when it’s a Dan Murphys or sex shop receipt)
- hand sanitiser (enough said)
- some tampons (I also need those after a DNF)
- a huge range of insults for her husband
- lip gloss
It is the lip gloss I have to focus on because the cold wind was causing us no end of problems. I was happy that she kept pulling it out at every second cache otherwise our lips would be chafed beyond repair. I thought you only got chafed when wearing Lycra during sexy times but I was thankful today she was packing it. It was keeping my lips nice and soft when kissing her backside that she had such a magical purse. tftc

Hiding from Muggles while I log this find. Found a few webs the hard way and Picked up lots of prickly swag. Glad I persevered though. Good one!
I think we did get some pics of some kangaroos as the Beardman and I were making our way around the Mount Peel bushland.

dahumbug and I were walking around Mt Peel this morning collecting all the caches. It's a beautiful area here and we even came across a few kangaroos. We ran into a large family of kangaroos when we got here. Thanks for the cache
During my stay in australia, i want to see as much as i can. This area with the bushes, so dry its strange for me. Today it was more then 35 degree and windy. I have seen some kangurus and birds.
On my round thru this bushland i have vistited all caches here. Greetings from germany. TfTC

After spending several hours cruising around the SSE series of caches, I headed back towards Toowoomba. I still had time and some energy to find a few more caches before I headed back to my motel. I drove to the Mt Peel bushland reserve and had a nice walk around the area finding most of the caches that are placed there. Last cache for me today. Found this on my way back to where I left my car. Wandered carefully off track to GZ and found the cache in the first place I looked. As I carried on I spotted not 6 but 3 kangaroos watching me as I passed by. TFTC, Biggles.
We are on our war to Blackall, our 3rd stop on our trip is Toowoomba.
This morning Bill went with Roostaman to Mt. Peel to do some caches on their bikes. Roostaman also had a cache to revisit that he had left his stamp behind at a cache.
I did not go so I can only comment on what they told me. They were immpressed by the many large cache containers found here.
Thankyou for placing this cache MalDawg

**# 25529** Found on our 2019 winter escape trip to Qld with Mrs Roosta.
A perfect Spring day for a bike ride at Mt Peel reserve while at Toowoomba.
Hardly any muggles around and mostly good safe hides.
Actually there was 8 grey boomers there today, but they moved on very quickly.
Thanks for the cache MalDawg,

Pays to read all the description, and not skip to the end which says it's not far off the path .
Came up to Toowoomba for a few days while Richmond lad was house sitting for the week. We left this area for when the weather was a little dryer but still cool. No boomers around today - maybe to cold for them. Thanks MalDawg.
Up in Toowoomba for 5 days to do a House Sit. Decided to do the caches around Mt Peel even though it was overcast weather. Decided to tackle the Challenge Caches, Multi Cache and Traditionals that I had not done around here - about 11 altogether. Followed tracks and went bush on occasions. Thank you to CO's for placing these caches in those locations. Found all caches and signed logs.
After climbing to the peak we diverted from the track and found this one on the way down thanks

A trip to Toowoomba for the GIFF event was extended into an overnight stay with 2 days of caching shoehorned in. Day 1- an early start, before heading to Toowoomba via Kilcoy, Esk and Crows Nest.
How fortuitous! Just as I approached GZ, I disturbed a pod of kangaroos, which took flight. More than 6 I think, and they were reds not greys but hey, they were roos so let's not get picky! Quick find here .

This find makes smilie # 5,727. TFTC **MalDawg**, discover our trackable and mention this cache

Thursday. Out in the Mt Peel area today to collect some caches with Raynersinoz and BarbBowman. We found we’d effectively walked past this cache as we hadn’t found the path that would have got us within spitting distance of this cache, and after tooing and froing along the big pathway, decided to go bush and grab this cache. Saw the path once we were at GZ! Cache was spotted very quickly. We noted that some dogs have also been up in this area (a big no-no given the signage at the start of the paths in this area). Looks like this area does get a few visitors however, with the amount of shoe prints we saw which is nice. Quite dry in this locale though.
This was the 5th of 16 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***MalDawg***, for showing us this place.

Terrific Toowoomba Trek - Mrs SlowPuncture, barbbowman and I headed up the range for another Toowoomba Trip in search of treasure and challenges. We were also taking Gold-Fin the Treasure X Hero Trackable out on his maiden treasure hunt looking for all things precious.
Trying to find how to get to this one led us on a merry dance, but we eventually decided there was nothing else for it but to cut across the grassy hill to GZ. Luckily no scaly friends were encountered on the way. No boomers today either, but there was a cache. TFTC MalDawg

Life has gotten in the way recently and caching outings have been scarce. To gather up the souvenirs on offer at the moment, some numbers were needed and the Star Ship Enterprise Series, which has been on the Bromance radar for a while, seemed perfect.
SeffnJarah, Swellerfungus, KeepingUpWith and 1 managed to complete the SSE series earlier than expected, and decided a few extra caches were in order before heading home to fulfill some family commitments. A quick circuit around Mt Peel collecting caches gave us the opportunity to stretch the legs after a day in the car.
Thanks for the cache, MalDawg .

After zipping around the Starship Enterprise universe at the speed of light all morning, Crookedpete, Swellerfungus, Keepingupwith and I decided to return to our home planet to stretch our legs and get the blood circulating with a walk around the countryside, with the added bonus of some caches to add to our collections.
Didn't happen to spot any boomers today, but there was plenty of evidence of them on the ground as we made our way towards GZ. No problems making the find and our name was added to the logbook. TFTC
