There seems to be no action or decision regarding the future of the Baths site, area is still inaccessible, so I think I will just archive this one and open the Gardens area up to something else. Thx to all who found my first cache and awarded FPs for it.
Area still fenced off. No word yet of any progress with Heritage Victoria.
Spoke to some of the councils' garden staff who were in the area today. They tell me that Council is waiting for a report from Heritage Victoria before any works can be done within the baths vicinity . Until then cache is still disabled.
Checked the area today. The Old Baths are still fenced off so this one will be out of play for a little longer I'm afraid. Will check more frequently from now on in hope that works will be completed soon.
Temporarily out of play while works are on in the area. Not accessible due to area fenced off. Will find out an ET of works.
Checked this one after the last searcher recorded a DNF. Cache wasn't quite returned where it was supposed to be hidden so returned to its original position.
As per the description your gps isn't much help here. Use the photo hint included to help determine this caches' location. Good luck everyone

Coords are out. Tried twice. Last night and this morning. PAF gave us conflicting information. None of which yielded the cache.
Third, fourth? time lucky? Took a few goes and different points of view, finally found it! The yell I gave was echoed by the kookaburras, lovely. We got married here in 2012, so a lovely new layer of memory for us. Thanks so much for the challenge.
Went to look for this one with previous finders. Had some help as it was starting to rain. Oops-sorry that it came apart. Thanks to the CO for being so gracious about it. (I still say "the bear did it!") Giving a favourite point for the great hide and location. TFTC
Found with Explorer Nan on a drizzly caching day around Buninyong, before the nearby late afternoon event. Beautiful old baths with interesting history. Very clever cache construction too. TFTC Perpetuallylost.
TFTC. On the road to attend the event in Buninyong and decided to attempt a few on the way. We always leave a little bit of extra time to attempt some caches. The normal 1 hour trip generally takes a little longer. Well a lot longer really.
We had been here a couple of time before to no avail. The last time I had actually sat jus above the cache. As we walked down to GZ, spotted a couple of other cachers attending the nearby event. A quick find this time and name in the log.

I wandered over to this hide with a few others and boy, I am glad I did as I think I would have been there for much, much longer if I was searching on my own. A ripper hide in a very blended in spot. Thanks Perpetuallylost, a favourite from me.
Beautiful and historic setting. The last cache after a sociable day and pleasant event. TFTC.
Almost about to give up but had a last ditch effort. iPhone was about 12 meters off. Fantastic hide thanks
Hardest and best micro cache we have found so far. Super clever design great job
I was hopping around Bunny-ong this morning,
looking for caches
This caching carrot showed up on me map
How could I resist a munch and go ??
Except that it wasn't quite that fast !! [:o]
Half an hour after turning up,
in the still spitting rain,
I knew that this cache was not where I thought it would be,
otherwise I would have found it !! [:o]
Time to resort to the fizzy 'thinking cola'
Which soon did the trick as I changed me searching tactics.
All of a sudden a cache came to paw,
and a logbook was signed in this interesting location [^]
That's a fave dance time anyday
Like a miner who has found a gold nugget [^]

Visited GZ on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Searched high and low, but this one beat us in the end.

After staying at Bunjil Lookout last night n spending along day, with sharkiefan, in the bush around Steiglitz hunting down Cludo and Star Wars themed caches, the odd other in the area and a quick flying run into Geelong for a Virtual and attending the Geelong Annual Christmas Dinner at Lara.
It was time for me to head home.
By the time I got to Buninyong it was well n truly dark. So I decided to have a break n go for a look for this cache.
Well a short break ended up bein quite a long one. And after reading a couple of previous logs I can happily say this one was found.

We cannot do a nano cache without inserting a nano rant so here goes
Bloody Nanos! Spawn of satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos
Now that is over and done with lets get onto the good things about this cache,
the area is magnificent, we were in luck when we looked for the cache as when we came by later the mower person was working hard. That someone was looking after us as the cache was not that hard to find when you use patience and a look from the right angle.

Finally made this find, after 2 or 3 attempts. GPS had us pointed in slightly the wrong direction, after widening the search area the little critter finally revealed itself. Thanks Perpetuallylost for a crafty little hide.

Out and about geocaching in "Mexico" with Crzymelly, the Geokids & HubbyandMrs. A few finds before a stunning lunch at the local pub, followed by the a partial completion of the Symbols Series geotrail.
A few quick and easy finds, some slightly more challenging, bumping into a fellow geocacher at one, and being muggled out by school children at another. All in all, a good day out geocaching.

I love this spot and so thankful there is a cache here. Great hide ....TFTC and a fav from me.
Such a clever little hide. Thanks for making me work for my 200th find! As previous finders have said - using the satellite map is a great help as GPS in the area is all over the place..
Thx to Jacko83 for reporting a problem with the camo on this cache. Temporarily offline until i get it fixed.
Last cache for the day and why not swing by one with a few faves.
After a lengthy search wasn't having much luck at all so time to reign in the PAF to the CO.
Looking in the wrong spot, but cache was also a little broken so didn;t pick it up on second spot I checked! Eventually fingered it.
Either way a fave for the beautiful location.
Cheers!

I have felt perpetually lost here previously as I was led in the wrong direction. With a hint from some fellow cachers recently I was pointed in the right direction and resulted in a smile here TFTC Perpetually Lost
Loved this hide and especially the grounds. I wouldn't have known about it without your hide being published. The information provided was fascinating. The hide took a little search. I picked this cache up at 2:56pm. Final cache for the afternoon, it was way to warm by this stage. I needed to phone a friend. Despite the note from the CO on the cache page, I was having no luck. This sort of cache, that can encourage people to take things apart whilst looking for them, really need to have a hint, to prevent the area you are trying to highlight from being ruined.
I am in Ballarat for the weekend picking up a few caches that have been nominated for the Victoria Cache of the Year Awards. Today, despite the heat I was able to plan a loop that included picking up six of them.

Find #1599 for me. Found at 2:55 pm while visiting Ballarat (from Bendigo). Oh, dang! Had I realized I was coming up to my #1600 milestone I would have saved it for this one, but alas I wasn't aware of it at the time. Anyway this one has been on my watch-list for a short time and so I received the recent notification that it had been nominated for an award which only made it even more attractive. So it made sense to look for it on my next visit to Ballarat which was today. Now ideally I should have checked out the Google Earth photo before I left home since my mobile phone plan doesn't include data meaning I pay a small fortune if I turn data on and use it in the field. But whatever. I'm not a mobile phone person, or haven't been until recently at least. So anyway, I was searching around for just over 30 minutes before I finally had that Eureka moment I was hoping for - Luckily no muggles entered the bath to share it with me during that time though there were plenty of them not far away! Wow, very impressive and definitely worth both a favorite point from me and the nomination for Cache of the Year! For a first hide, it's probably the best I've seen actually so well done!! Also I found it not too far from where my GPS led so the coordinates weren't too bad for me. As a side-note the source of your historical notes, Anne Beggs-Sunter, used to be one of my librarianship lecturers many, many years ago. In 1990 to be exact! I can remember having an end-of-course BBQ at her home. Anyway thanks for bringing me to this very interesting location Perpetuallylost, thanks for the fun and thanks for the cache!

We did have a look, but as it was a tad hot and the there were many flies "helping" us, we decided to come back again another day.............was a really lovely spot
Just couldn't find it today but the visit to the gardens made the stop very worthwhile and enjoyable.
Sunny Sunday take two with visiting Jaamc. I’ve found one like this before so it wasn too hard
It feels like its going to be one of those caching trips... hubbys GPS on his phone decided it didn't want to play. We knew what we should be looking for, at least we thought we did.
Then we read some misleading logs and then finally we PAF'd.
We should have taken note that the coords aren't right and broadened our search. GZ was a ways out on my phone as well, had we kept searching we would have eventually found it because hubby was looking for the right camo!
Great little hide, really blends in!
Another find by the McPhail family.

There seems to be some sort of discrepancy regarding the coords of my cache. I am uploading a photo from Google Earth which also matches Google Maps regarding the exact location of the cache using my supplied coords.

We found it this time.. yay... little difficult with the wheelchair on the wet grass but im crazy so it wasnt impossible. So happy to have this one turned into a smiley only took a few months before i was able to come back towards ballarat.
Found this along with Motndarg, gosh this was a challenge and a half. We looked everywhere for what seemed ages, the longer we searched more determined we became! Eventually found it. Fantastic hide and lots of fun. Thanks Perpetuallylost for the cache.
Had 4 pairs of eyes searching for this illusive cache. Eventually, after 30 minutes of painstaking in/out, up/down, over/under etc, vaja1 found the hiding spot. Congratulations to vaja1 for persisting, and to Perpetuallylost for placing this cache. I certainly think it is worth a favourite, thank you
What a beautiful yet hidden little garden space! I have been driving through here for years and years, and have never been here, I really enjoyed the walk I had around a the garden, then I just sat and took it all in, the beautiful flowers and plants, the shrooms, the insects and the sounds of the bird life nearby, oh and the cheeky little nano of course! My coordinates didn't exactly match GZ, so I looked in and around, high and low, then I just thought I'd sit and take in the scenery once more, and funnily enough, I kinda just put my hand in the right spot while I was taking a break! Fluked it! Well I'm certainly not going to complain about it! Thanks so much for the cache! Definitely a place I will revisit!
Found it! Took us a little while actually. Very sneakily placed. Good fun! Thanks!
Nice hide!

Was unfortunatly a dnf for me today. After searching for 15 mins with my muggle parents who are slowly getting hooked on helping me geocache (im in a wheelchair) we couldnt find it and they had enough as it was a tough find. (Found out they only helping me with ones that are simple lol) oh well maybe ill be able to come back with a walker friend and do a long proper search
Needing one to fill a calendar and being late in the day I decided to head out to this one. I was hoping for a quick one but yeh right.... a very devious little hide. Congrats perpetuallylost on a rippa of a first hide in a very pretty area.
Heading to Ballarat for an event this afternoon, we decided to take a slight detour and clean up a few strays along the way. With time on our hands it was a must to do this cache as we drove through Buninyong. A short walk brought us to the old baths where the search began. Listening to kids nearby we made sure they couldn't see us in our search. Mr T found the very sneaky hide and it's camouflage after thinking outside the square.

When Ausfox; offered to drive for a nearby first to find in the lovely cold liquid sunshine of Ballarat I could knock back the opportunity. With the first to find achieved we then set our sights on turning the nearby green boxes into a much more appropriate and pleasing yellow smileys.
On our way home Ausfox; decided that just one more was in order. and with only a D rating of 2 it should be a quick one. How wrong we were. I am glad I was with Ausfox; on this one otherwise I don't think I would have ever found it. Very nice piece of camo on this one. we were both in agreement that you could up the d rating for sure as it is quick a tricky hide.

With the sunset set and the air wet. It was a perfect time to cache around Ballarat.
Picked up the Simsfamily to turn a few green boxes into smilies.
With a recent unexpected mid winter dip in lake Wendouree, I was a little hesitant with the name of the cache, but felling comfortable at GZ the fun began. We searched high and low for some time, even widening the search area but no luck. But approaching from a different angle the tricky hide was eventually located.
The Difficulty rating could be upped a little on this great tricky hide.

Suscoe arrived in Ballarat this afternoon a little earier than expected.
What do we do with 10 minutes up our sleeves, why turn left and stop for a new cache, a no brainer really.
So we enjoyed a short walk in the park, a quick look in the baths and a neat little hide was located safe and sound.
Thanks to Perpetuallylost for placing this little chap in such a manner.
We took in the surrounds for a short while and thenheaded off towards the Lake and the event at the local.

I found myself in Buninyong today, with a little time to spare. Thought I'd try my luck with this cache, ad it's not often I'm over this way. I use my phone for caching, and found that using the satellite image gives me a much clearer idea of cache locations. It worked a treat here, as I was easily able to pinpoint the cache location - although I still had to have a good look! Great first cache, Perpetuallylost! Hope this is just the beginning!
While checking the Ballarat caching map I noticed that I had not logged this cache which was found back on the above date with Na"Wal and his son on a very cold frosty morning.
Parked the White beast and wandered over to this historic location where I have been on a previous occasion and the hunt started.
Eventually the well hidden little guy was located and with the log signed it was off to the next on our list.

Today was planned a few weeks ago after some very long hours at work enabled me to have an extra day off today to go on a geocaching adventure. The geo boy was in for the day and bushfire and I talked about heading for Creswick so we teamed up, leaving just as the sun was rising. I was a great day out chasing a few caches that we both had on our lists. It was freezing cold here and quite wet as we parked the geo wheels close by and saw a few school muggles being organised for the day. I was surprised that I haven't been to this location before but enjoyed the location. What a nasty little hide this is for your first. Thankfully it didn't take too long but the GPSr wanted us somewhere else before we finally found it's hidding spot. Signed and replaced as found.

On the way to make a purchase in Ballarat, we made a quick pit stop here. I hadn't visited this are before, so it was a pleasant surprise. Using the phones GPS ( which I normally don't ) this had me about 10 metres from GZ. A nice bit of history here. TFTC Perpetuallylost
Found as Nicnax with MazzyMay. MazzyMay had looked for this previously with no luck, today when I was with her she found it straight away. Our GPS was still saying it was about 12 metres away though. TFTC
After a fruitless search recently GPS had me all over the place with four different GZ's. After a long search, gave up as 'too hard'. I decided to take SciFiRulz down to take another look today, approached from a different direction and went straight to the cache. It was still 11 meters away from one of the GZ's. It was good to get the log signed as Nicnax2. TFTD Fav Pt
We got home yesterday in the dark sitting on 5999 finds.
Decided we could go for this one as our milestone as it is a beautiful spot.
Karen made the find as the GPSr was pointing over the wall.
No one else around this morning and we enjoyed the always beautifully maintained garden.
We used to have a cache a few meters away that dissapeared one too many times, but this is a hide that will stay unnoticed unless you are looking for it.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for the hide and for being the CO of our 6000th find.
Decided we could go for this one as our milestone as it is a beautiful spot.
Karen made the find as the GPSr was pointing over the wall.

Thanks for the cache hide.
Found by Mary & David at 1310. Success at last after a hint from the CO at the Ballarat Event earlier. Over the years, there have been several caches around here. We love Buninyong and its history, and were glad of the chance to return. Our thanks to Perpetuallylost.

*The novelty of Christmas in July drew us to Ballarat today, an opportunity to catch up with caching friends and have a taste of a northern hemisphere Christmas!* Way too chilly for a bath, but a nice piece of history.
Spot on co-ords made this potentially difficulty and tricky hide a relatively easy find. Spotted after a couple of minutes searching. Suspect the DR is a tad under-rated.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

I met up with kenare and kenbryl here today for a look for this cache. After looking around the wrong area, we expanded our search and found this little hide. Congrats on your first hide. Cigc. Tftc
Congrats on your first hide, I hope there will be many more to follow. What an interesting place! I never realised what the walls were for until now. After a bit of search we expanded and soon had the cache in hand. Tftc
