Found by caughtatwork on 16/11/2024 at 9:01:00 AMA tricky find as the grass was incredibly long, but I checked the logical spot and with some persistence the cache was found. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1
Rated: for Overall Experience
Ive been wanting to get back out here since I saw the CO had replaced the missing container. TOL a minute or two but got there after stomping through the long grass!! DNF #2/2 avenged!! TFTC!!
I had logged the wrong cache. I would have left it as is, but one day I might come through again and I don't want to miss out on a legit find. TFTC. My original log:I stopped here because there was a trig station on the hill and it is not one the GCA maps, so I had to stop for photos... and a bonus cache in the bargain. TFTC
Maintenance run checked and area has been cleared cache replaced base of post near fence just behind where it was and is now ready to go again
Write note or DNF...just one of those things. We arrived to find the road being graded, so didn't stop. The area my GPSr was pointing to had been worked on and there was dirt piled up. Cache could be there, it could be buried, or it could be gone. Not sure obviously. Will watch and see how others go.Thanks anyway Cherad...
Couldnt find today. Looks like the roads been graded recently and Telstra/telecom have been doing works. Will keep an eye out for an update.
Took a bit to find, but we found a good cache in good condition. You could see where water had got in, but the log was perfectly dry.
Nice to have this one recently replaced. The third and last cache in this area that I found today.
Cheers
Cheers
I ventured out to locate the second Mt Mercer Cache, and though it took some time, I eventually found it. The quiet surroundings made me unconcerned about being seen, and I was pleased to discover the cache in excellent condition, having been recently replaced. Thanks for the cache!
Temporarily disable until we can get there to check it, hopefully in the next couple of weeks
No luck today, didn’t want to roll my ankle again. A few too many prickles for my liking. Jeans and boots next time
I had a look for this one but I couldn't find it today. There was a lot of standing water around including at the base of the stump. When the cows in the paddock moved away, every step was accompanied with a Splosh sound and they sank six inches into the ground.
I hope it's still there. My thanks to Cherad for placing it.

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC

Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.
This is one of the caches found today.
Some caches logged as RASP rebel acts &Ski pair.

It was great to be back in the area caching and catching up with my buddy Rebel Acts.
I had planned on being here for a few days but unfortunately, work got in the way again, so made the most of a sunny Sunday.
So many new caches online around Ballarat and Creswick since the last time I was up this way, and it's awesome to see some lab caches here as well.
This is one of the caches that I found on the day, cheers for the cache and the opportunity for a smile on the map.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Cherad.

After a DNF nearby I moved on to this one. A nice quick find under the watchful eye of the huge turbines. Thanks Cherad for bringing me here today as a detour on my way through to Colac.
Off to Ballarat today, we left early to take a roundabout trip so we could pick up specific caches that will fill dates on calendars or assist us in qualifying for challenge caches. We love wind farms, they are graceful and useful architecture and look infinitely better than an open cut coal mine or a coal-fired power station. As we stopped to find this cache the lovely low thrum was heard in the background. This was a nice easy find and the cache was in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Cherad.
Found on the way back home from the beach it was fairly windy today and I was surprised just how loud the blades were as they were turning around thanks for bringing me here
I realised now that I came the long way from the forest. No matter, and this one was an easy find.
Found this cache easily due to perfect co ords. Beautiful day to be out doing what we love doing! Thanks Cherad.

A drive through this area after caching in Cressy this morning, and now on our way to the Leigh Grand Junction bridge for an EC, making my fifth type of cache found today.
A nice quick find, and a great view of these magnificent turbines! Thx Cherad for the cache here on a road I had never travelled on before.

A late start today found me here around 1900 and, seeing several obstacles in my path, I wasn't sure that I would be signing the log today. After a short scout around the cache was located in the obvious spot.

Geokid was just discussing wind turbines in class and wanted to know if they made noise. We may never know cos the wind was CRAZY today. Quick find, tftc
A good quick one to obtain, as it’s getting dark fast.
The turbines are slowly starting up again at differing times and rates.

Out caching with thomo31 on a windy and cold day, pulled over took some photos and logged. TFTC
Found with teamashy. Very windy so the wind turbines are happily blowing. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
I headed off to see how many caches I might struggle to find today.
The temperature never got below the high 20's last night and out here it was already hitting the high 30's !! [:o]
This one looked like a drive by,
so I stopped for a look.
The turbines were producing full power in the strong northerly wind
Most of that power was no doubt cooling houses in Ballarat [:o]
A quick find
And I was soon back in the coolness inside the geomobile

Found at 3.30pm on the way back to camp. Lovely drive around the area, with a coffee in Buninyong. TNLN Tanks K&M
Found with FUF009.
A 3 day weekend for both of us meant testing the new swags and caching in areas we both had loads of choice from.
Meeting at Panmure and sussing out where to camp was the 1st priority (Lake Ellingamite), then merged into 1 car and hit the trails.
We changed camping location to near Colac for the 2nd night, less bugs more wind.
We had a wonderful weekend with many interesting finds and locations. Thanks to all the cache owners.

Find # 7338
Found with sharkiefan on a camping and caching long weekend in the South west area of Victoria.
We visited from Mortlake to Port Fairy to Colac to Timboon and everything in between, and finishing up in Ballarat on Monday evening for the Giff event.
Seeing we still had a few hours till the event we decided to head through the Forest for a few grabs.

With only a few days to go to get to 100 for the current series. Wozzle68, MazzyMay and me went on the hunt. We did manage to find enough to get the number required. TFTC.
Quick stop on the way through to finish off the 100 for the month Creatures Challenge. Easy to find. TFTC Cherad
Picked up with MazzyMay and Dippa46 on an afternoon cache run to pick up a few more caches towards the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. Thanks for the lovely views

Who would have thought we’d have company. Had to bide our time while a local cyclist had break. Managed to avoid the muggle spotting us. Good hide. TFTC
Its nice to do some caches cloce to home, been waiting till we had some time to kill before doing this one.tftc
Found It.......It was decided to set out on a Geo Journey while we where having lunch after doing the shopping as it was the first weekend off through harvest for Mr H_3 so after deciding on a direction we set off. After arriving at G.Z. the search started and soon after the cache was in our hands and with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks Cherad for the cache
Some passing muggles stopped to see if I was OK but told them I was just taking photos. The old geocaching trick. Thanks Cherad.
A call from my good caching mates the suscoe cachers to see what I was doing today set the scene for today starting in Geelong up through the Enfield Forest, Linton, Smythesdale, Lake Burrumbeet, Lexton, Waubra and back down the highway to Gordon and then back to Geelong through Ballan and Anakie.
Now that is a lot of kilometres but we cleaned up a lot of outstanding caches and with no DNF’s or the need to PAF. A great day’s caching and with no rain.
The suscoe's had found these two on a previous trip but kindly stopped so that I could also put my name in the log.
I don't think that I have this up close to these guys before and impressive ststs on the cache page.

Suscoe was in Ballarat today catching up with family and enjoying the weather.
What a magnificent day, so much sunshine and almost no wind made for a perfect day.
We decided to add a bit of caching into the mix and so after an early start we headed out to find a few caches that we have been watching for a while and in some cases for not long at all. We cached today with the sister. Always great fun to have her along and joining in the searching activities.
Thanks to Cherad for this hide.
That certainly was impressive up that close.
In the late afternoon sun they looked splendid.

Heading to Ballarat for an event this afternoon, we decided to take a slight detour and clean up a few strays along the way. Enjoyed the views of the turbines with dark clouds in the background as we waited for a farmer to pass by.
Thanks Cherad for the placement highlighting these magnificent structures.

In Ballarat for a Tree Planting Event and grab a few caches with Simsfamily and Neviile Devil for a day of mayhem and laughter on a surprisingly warm sunny day.
A quick find of the cache so I took a few minutes to take in the view.
I have a strange fascination with the turbines, wether it's growing up with War of the Worlds or just their looming size.
Log signed and replaced as found.

After spending the morning at a tree planting CITO Ausfox;, Neville_devil and myself spent the rest of the day around the area turning green blobs on our maps into much more pleasing smileys.
By the time we got to this on the suns was below the horizon but with torches this was still a quick find with Ausfox; putting his hands straight on the cache. Log signed under torchlight and our last cache in the area before heading homeward.
Thank you Cherad for the cache and smiley
