This is a bit of a nemesis cache of mine. Eketahuna is fully cached out, bar this cache. And it is not because of any DNFs, but because of all the DNAs. So many times I have driven past this cache, not attempting it. So, so many times . Do I have to make a special trip here? Take a day off mid week and come just for this one cache?Ah - but today... Today I have a four-day weekend and Etherlord mentions there is a problem with this cache, so maybe if I take the Wairarapa route home I can repair this cache and log it at long last. Yay!!So Etherlord gave me a whole bunch of kit to build a whole new cache if necessary, but in the end only glue was needed. Repaired the cache, signed the log grabbed a trackable and continued home. Same cache, same hide, same hint.Cache is is pristine condition. Okay, I guess that is not surprising, given the hide, but it is still nice to see a pristine cache. And big enough for treasure. And a great location. Hits all the marks. Favourite.
Hello from Seattle! After an amazing trip along the southern coast of Australia heading from Sydney to Adelaide to attend a Mega-Event with my fellow Lackey and best Geobuddy Giacaches, we headed over to New Zealand for a week of caching and adventure - as I often say, we've never been closer, so it made perfect sense to plan for a stop. We have a loop around the North Island on the schedule, and I'm so excited to see all the things there is to see!Today was very blustery - it even made the evening news! Luckily we had our jackets and hats and didn't let a thing like that get in our way for caching. I saw this one was in a Library and I knew we had to stop - I love library caches (Gia does too!) and this is a fun one! We left some trading cards since they fit so well. Thanks so much for adding to this awesome trip!
Greetings from Seattle! I traveled down under with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide on Leap Day. Of course, a trip from Seattle to Australia just wouldn't be complete without a detour through New Zealand Per usual, We're squeezing in as many extra activities as we can, including, but not limited to: Logging our geocache finds in the southern hemisphere Finding Australia's oldest, [GC3E](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3E) at Lane Cove, and the first-ever Earthcache, [GCHFT2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCHFT2) Enjoying the spectacle of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Cruising along the scenic Great Ocean Road Completing a challenge that requires finding 31 Earthcaches and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TBZ) and [GC32TC2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TC2)) Finding the oldest cache placed outside of the US, [GC46](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC46) Exploring the iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations across New Zealand Thanks for placing this one and thus and contributing to our epic adventure
Making a Quick stop here on the road trip to Wellington. Nice idea to bring people into the library! TFTC . Greetings from Berlin, Germany.
**19,613**A super-fast find, of a very nicely concealed and well set up cache container. The librarian smiled at us as we left and asked if we had found it ok I guess as we were the only ones there and the silence was deafening, the click of the container was a dead give away as to what we were up to. Managed to get in and out just before the lunchtime break. TFTC
After training in Pahiatua library the containwe was sviftly found. Thank you for the cache. FP given.
Finally knowing how to find non-fiction books came in handy Found with Team Dixon!

I had been meaning to attempt to find this cache ever since I became aware of it but I seldom stopped during the right hours. Today I did and found myself near ground zero with just a staff member and two other people. I don't seem to need to visit such establishments any more but I know how they are set up and I was able to immediately position myself correctly and make the find. I had to wait a few minutes for one of the customers to move before I could replace the cache. As I left, I was asked if I had found the geocache. It turns out the staff member had had a good chat with a recent finder so knew all about it and was on to me.
It's 28° outside so it was welcome relief to sit and sign off this geocache in the cool conditioned interior while chatting with the librarian. Have taken the TB for a drive as I have no idea how long it's been residing here. TFTC
I was lucky that today I was able to make this find, swap geocoins and head onwards on my trip, thanks to the CO, hi to you J!
It's International Earthcaching weekend and I am 'bach' so have a free rein on what's optional, ding dong. I have had a plan for a while to knock off my remaining 52 on SH52 caches and that seemed viable, via Castlepoint for and EC. However, just South of Pongaroa the road is missing, so a new route home was needed and Rimu Road came up trumps. Quite a few skindo caches were found, and much enjoyment was had, cheers all COs. Almost 70 finds for the day, Ad Labs included, so all was good.

The second library visit today, which is great as we've meant to grab these caches many times before but we've always been in a hurry, or they've been closed.
Went straight to this one.
Thanks for putting this here

A charming community library where it was a quick enter, find, sign, add TB and replace. The local librarian was watching me and was very encouraging about my process. FP
Luckily the library was open and the lady was helpful too!

I'm staying at the nearby campground and made a point to head over this afternoon. I was actually cutting this a bit close, and by the time I'd walked along the track back into town it was almost 5 minutes before closing. The librarian laughed when I mentioned the cache, and then said I should be in the other section, when I wandered over to the wrong area. A nice quick find once I was in the right place, and a fun conversation while engaging in the search, have a FP, a cool cache, cheers
Passing through on the way home after spending a few weeks in the South Island. Had some help from the librarian. Thanks for hiding 3Prettys
It's Xmas Eve Eve, and my boss has let us close up shop for the year at lunchtime. So then I was sitting in Upper Hutt having to decide whether to battle the traffic heading north on SH1 out of Wellington, or else drive over the Rimutakas and through the Wairarapa to end up visiting friends in Palmerston North?
It turned out to be an excellent choice. The traffic was light, the weather stunning (30+ deg) and the caching very successful with 5 old solved puzzles found, 3 of which were 'lonely', 1 of which was a 1000+ days lonely cache, plus I finally managed (after many years) to be in Eketahuna during library opening hours
I've driven past here so many times, but usually at weekends or evenings, so it was great to finally see the inside of this dinky library.
The Hint helped me zero in on GZ very quickly, but no cache was there. I widened my search and eventually found it elsewhere, close-ish but not where it was supposed to be. Signed the log and then replaced as per the hint.
Thanks for placing this cache.

I was going off to Dannevirke today and so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to find a few restricted hours geocaches that I would not be able to find otherwise.
I arrived at the library a few minutes before it was meant to open and stood outside for a little bit. As soon as the opened the door, I was searching for the right section, it took a while and a looking through a few books before I found it. TFTC!

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
This was far easy than the last cache we did which was of a similar style. We immediately headed to the right place and again gk did what he needed to do.
There are not many library caches that we have found so to do two in one day was a bit of a treat.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

Drove from masterton to palmerston north to visit a friend and saw there are a few caches on the way. So I stopped a couple of times to collect some more "smiles"on the map.

Finally able to complete this one as all the other times we have passed by here we haven't had time to stop or it was on the weekend when it was closed.
Stopped by here, and after a few minutes we were signing the log. Love these library caches.
Enjoyed our short visit here. Thanks for the cache and for adding to our fun adventures

Nice little visit to this community library. Didn't take long to track down the cache. Nice one! Thank you
#8000. Day one of a geocaching road trip to Gisborne and back to pick up a few TMGT caches plus a number of other caches of interest on the way north. Travelling with Infoferret. After reaching Eketahuna, we checked the cache description and were relieved to find we had just got here before the library closed for lunch break. We signed in at the desk and the librarian asked what we were looking for. So IF explained we were here to find the geocache. Just as well as the bookshelves had been reordered and so she gave us some new hints of where to search. After a short look we discovered it nicely tucked away where hopefully muggles are not normally searching. Signed the logbook and replaced where found. Great to finally get this one as all other visits to Eketahuna in the past 5 years have been on weekends. Thanks 3Prettys for the cache. Cheers GSEL
Finally I managed to be passing by when this lovely space was open. After signing in and hand sanitizing, we browsed the shelves and had a quick find, with assistance from the librarian. There has been a bit of reordering in this lovely library, so you now need 746.46 FIE. TFTC
We haven’t planned to come to this charming little town, as we had just planned the route from Tinui to Alfredton, but we’d forgotten our picnic and this was the nearest place we can get some food. After lunch we popped into the mini library where the librarian explained that there was renovation going on so the cache was not where it supposed to be but u see her desk! Had a lovely chat about this and that so I’m going to give you a favourite as we had so much fun.
This was find #16 of 30 today on our exploration of the Tinui -Alfredton - Eketahuna road. Staying in Castlepoint there’s not much to do apart from sea sports so it’s a road tour today. Thanks to all the COs for their efforts which gave us so much fun today. Only 3 DNFs.

I do love a library cache!! The room was being painted so we bit the bullet and explained to the librarian what we were there for - she instantly produced the cache from under the desk! It was in one of the areas being decorated. We had a long natter about this town and other things. A good laugh! An FP and TFTC
I love hides like this! In places like this! I can spend hours and hours in these places...! The sweet Librarian was very polite and allowed me to browse and explore and I finally located it! Thanks for the fun!
Having a caching day as we drive from Masterton to Gisborne. The library was very quiet today, so the cache was easily located without any one noticing. Great place to hide one. TFTC
Came by here today while finding caches in the Wairarapa. Thanks for the opening hours info on the cache page as it informed us we would be unable to find this one today (Saturday).
What a neat little library. Great cache, something a bit different. A fav point from us

It took a few moments before the cache location clicked, even though we have met a couple of similar placements before. There had been a bit of cache-creep, but you can trust a librarian to be helpful and know exactly what you need. Excellent cache. FP and TFTC
Had fun with this as some books had moved but with a helpful librarian Pointer made the find so much easier gets a favourite TFTC
This week is my with Ethness in the North Island. We are driving from Wellington to Auckland, with a few detours. It is a 5 day trip.
Today is day one after spending the night in Greytown we went out geocaching around the town before heading to Palmerston North.
We had lunch at another cache because we needed to wait for the library to be open. The librarian was very helpful.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Have been wanting to find this cache for many, many months. And today was the day. Arrived at GZ while the library was closed so decided to have lunch beside a Skindo puzzle cache just out of town. Once we had finished eating and found that cache it was back into town to collect this one. A well hidden cache that is completely dry . TFTC 3Pennys.
Have passed this one a few times but for various reasons haven't been able to visit it. This morning was the day. We were greeted by the friendly librarian, helpful, but not too helpful! Scanned through a couple of gardening books before realising where it might be. Nicely done 3Prettys, thank you for the fun and another favourite added.
On our way to Castlepoint in the most atrocious weather imaginable. After doing a library cache in Napier the day before we couldn't pass up the opportunity to do another. Ran inside out of the rain and found the cache quickly. Kind of a pity in some ways as it was nice to be out of the rain. Librarian asked us if we found what we were looking for with a knowing smile on our way out. Thanks for the great cache!
On a trip to the NZ Mega 2018 with TaraTed, lots to see and do, this was a must as we both wanted to do some high fav point caches. With a bit of gyuidance TaraTed soon located this cache. Signed TTBB TFTC. Blenheim Bear
A rather nicely set out library. With the hint quickly found the cache. Had a friendly chat with the librarian who had already worked out we were geocachers. Tftc Signed TT BB with Blenheim Bear.
After overnighting in Ekatahuna we were on a mission to clean up before we moved on north and homeward. The library was closed when we first arrived so we went and did the Cliff Walk caches and came back. Mrs S went off to do this and it took longer than it should but eventually she had the container in hand. It wasn't exactly what she was looking for, because she had some preconceived notions. She had a great chat to the librarian though, who knew about Geocaching but not that there was one in the library. she did not want to know where it was because she wanted to find it for herself so Mrs S left her to it. There was a bunch of local littlies having a reading session which was really cool to hear and Mrs S was very grateful that they were not where she needed to be.
Thanks 3Prettys. Have a FAV for the cache and the location. Lovely.

A FP For this as the library assistance was so friendly, not too helpful but friendly
Many thanks
We are on another road trip and this time its from home to Masterton and return taking in a lot of the back roads around the area on the way back as we had more time to spare after attending the CITO at Henley lake in Masterton. our first adventure off the main road was east of Masterton and we found it very interesting as we planned to go through Mauriceville then head back to Ekatahuna. the road was good and wide for the campervan but in most places we couldn't pull off much but as the traffic was very light it wasn't a problem.
Many thanks

A great little chapter of our trip north. Well done on the placement, fave point from us. Cheers and TFTC
So, we had a bit of an incident at the last cache, and yes, I was the driver. It had to do with pulling off the road, and maybe a little bit to do with sometimes being the driver of a 4WD. When we went to continue our journey, the under engine splash guard was dragging on the ground and making a noise that would have turned heads for miles around. We managed to manipulate the splash guard so it quietened down a bit but decided to change our route and head into Eketahuna. We called into the garage and with the help of a piece of number 8 wire - - - oops, cable tie we were all set to continue. However, now we were here we decided to check out the local caches. This was the first in the town.
We wandered into the library, GPSs in hand. The librarian laughed "I know what you're looking for" and helped us hone in on the numbers we were after. We then spent longer looking at the books than we needed to - - - it does help to read the description .
My question has been answered, I see that boxhill did sign some logs after us today. Like him I have found several library caches, libraries do make great hiding places. Thanks for the cache !

I do enjoy these special kinds of hides. The librarian obviously also enjoys her role as guardian of the cache however Pink the first finder of the day managed to slip by unnoticed. Thankfully not a huge section to check because we did check them all before finally finding the well hidden cache. A very well deserved favourite here. I used to have one of the first caches here at the big kiwi but I notice its moved along the road a bit since then. TFTC # 12,782
The timing was right and the Library was pretty quiet. No trouble locating and finding. I've found the odd cache in these places, I can now add Eketahuna to a list that includes Oamaru, Invercargill and Hong Kong. Great stuff. Pleasantly surprised to see I was the third "borrower" after a couple of names I recognise from the "Mainland". Cheers and TFTC
What a cool cache. There are a couple of library caches in HK but they are difficult ones so I liked the simplicity of this one. Fav point given. TFTC.
Tried this one on the way up the line but wasn't accessible. Grabbed on the way home today and giving this one a favourite point for being such a cool cache!

Back in the Wairarapa today and what would you know this building was open today, and we are normally going through here in the weekend so have missed signing this one but not today and when we are on holiday.
And what a busy place it was today so found where we needed to be and the log was soon being signed.
Thanks for the placement and another smiley

A nice and quick find. Got to the library just before close so the librarian was busy doing what librarians do. Cheers.
Today we spent biking around Masterton, and a drive to Eketahuna and back on roads less well travelled.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

I had to wait for a few minutes until the library opened but once it opened i was able to make a bee line straight to it. It was not what i thought it would be- like other libraries and i think i like this version better. Off to lunch with ex principal at his house in P but i thought if i left early enough i could travel the extra distance and locate these cache here in the rugby grounds and the library as i am often passing thro at weekends when the lib is closed.
I walked over to the #3 cache to find i was on the wrong side of the ditch for this one so after i had located the o0thers i drove up to this one I do love the matching pair of salt and pepper shakers! It was a lovely day to driving around the area and i love the gentle bumps of hill around this area.
Thank you for these newer cachers and a few more smiley faces.

This was the thirteenth day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
After taking the ferry back to Wellington in the morning, I still had time to grab a few today.
My GPSr had me behind the building where a smuggle (smoking muggle) was busy. I waited until she left, then figured out where I needed to go. Great hide! TFTC.

As the weather cracked up an indoor cache seemed appropriate. Busy place today but a bit of cover to dig up the cache. Nicely made. -TB
Quick maintenance check while dropping off an Ixalan trackable which wants to visit the world's islands..
Stopped in Eketahuna for lunch and dropped in here as soon as I arrived. No problems, a quick and easy find although it might have taken a lot longer without the information on the cache page as there is little satellite coverage inside the building. Had a pleasant chat to the lady at the desk who was quite aware of the cache. Signed log, TFTC
we love these caches, and is our second one we have done, very quite inside and enjoyed looking through a book about tiny homes while kaleb made the find, thanks for the placement and a fav from us
Ahoy me hearties, we sailed off to Eketahuna today on the final stage of Mary Hyde's piratical quest challenge. We visited the outlying islands first and finished up at the main island. All eleven hidden geo-treasures we sought were successfully unearthed - aaargh...we be mighty fine pirates!
So back on the main island we went where pirates don't normally go - the library! This was a nice little hide, but quickly enough found and it certainly had paid to read the cache page first. Lucky we were literate pirates!
TFTC - gets a favourite point from us.
