I always like to check out archived caches. Sometimes the cache is still there. Not this time though.
Last cache for this visit and another Large container for the stats. All good as I parked alongside and headed 'in' there. Easily located and rescued the TBs to take North with me later today. T F T C sunju.
With a little time up my sleeve before meeting this morning I headed out after breakfast for a few local ones, all found easily and a nice temperature to be out and about on quiet roads.
Finished my meeting just before lunch so had a short while available for a quick walk before lunch then check-in. I opted for Anzac park and to the river and back as there was a range of options available. All good and the weather was nice for a stroll too.
I'm down to Palmy for a work meeting today and have a flight to catch this afternoon back to Orcland. It is a bit colder down here than the 4 seasons in one day North but still pleasant at this time of year. Grabbed a few caches today to boost my regional finds and get me some daily exercise. Thanks to all COs.

My favorite terrain- searching out of view of traffic. My favorite size cache! A big favorite from me tftc.
Heading round the outskirts of Palmy on my way to Whanganui. Just time for one last cache. Realised that heading north was not the ideal direction for this cache but found a safe place to park and walked back. No trouble finding the cache. Surprisingly few large caches around. Happy to give it a favourite. After this got seriously slowed down by two trucks each carrying half a house. What a mission. Thanks for the smiley
Off on another adventure with Team BOP to the Manawatu on a long weekend Great weather and company And lots of different types of caches Day two Using this template but will try to add add individual notes as we go Thanks to all the COs for providing the caches and fun First one for the day
What to do on a long weekend. Organise a trip to the mighty Manawatu So here we are. Team BoP on a mission. Cheers for bringing me here. Day two of a great trip.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Team BOP back together after a 3 month hiatus - this time hitting the Manawatu with our sights set on some Labs, some geo-art & everything else that crosses our path
We’ve signed our logs as Team BOP to save time and log space and have thoroughly enjoyed the journey so far. Pleasantly surprised that very little maintenance has been required and that most caches have been found quickly & without fuss.
While I am cut&pasting these logs using the Cachly ‘text template’ I do genuinely appreciate the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles. Cheers and TFTC

On a weekend road trip with Philip.Perry, McJandals and NZFlossy down to the Manawatu. Day 1 we are hitting the 20/20 series then not sure what we will be doing. Most of these puzzles were relatively easy to solve except for about five which took a bit of research. Signed the logs TeamBOP.
Finished the 20/20 series we have now spotted a few small trails up side roads that we decided to get before we head to our accommodation.

Out on a weekend caching trip with Buttels with the aim of picking up the SHIELD and 20/20 series and mostly solved puzzles along the way. Loved the size of the container and nicely concealed location. T4TC
There was another car parked here when Edvern and I pulled up. We pretended to be very interested in the tree and took photos, before sneaking in to find the cache. Great to find a big container!!! Yay no more pill bottles and eclipse tins for us today. Realised when we went back to the car that the occupants of the other car were not the least bit interested in what we were up to - being engrossed in a discussion. TFTC
Grabbed this one on our way for a romantic night away. Mr Berries climbed in and was very impressed by the size of the cache! TFTC
We are currently heading down in Wellington for a family wedding this weekend, and making a bit of a roadtrip of it, and obviously picking up some smileys along the way. Good spot here, TFTC
I was going to find this one as I headed out of town tomorrow, but I had a few minutes today. I got a nice reward for my efforts. TFTC.
Pass here on the way to work in the morning before 4am each day. Today I've zipped in late in the evening. Glad I didn't try this in the dark due to the snaggy rank blackberry growth under here. Great size cache. Honoured it by taking resident Geocoin and dropping one coin and two TBs. Other than the brambles, All good here. TFTC
Last cache of a very busy Leap Day expedition. Managed to avoid most of the blackberry. TFTC sunju!
We zipped under the canopy while on our leap day expedition, for another large cache for IF. The blackberries provided both prickles and nourishment. Cheers sunju!
#7866. Today has been a busy day. Started early in the morning in Wellington looking for a D5 mystery cache final, then attended 4 events that took us from Wellington through Ohau to Palmerston North. All because its Leap Day 2020 and its another 4 years before we can do it all again. There were team members keen to sign off a large cache find on this date so we drove out to here and soon saw the canopy of the cache title. The interior is well guarded by blackberry but a path to the GZ was soon discovered. Despite his bare feet, barefootguru gaily lead the charge to the centre of the earth, undeterred by prickles or spikey branches. He soon spied the nicely hidden cache container and signed us all in as we stood nearby and watched the action playing out before us. On the retreat out, BFG located some of the tasty treats from the blackberry grove. Thanks sunju for hiding this cache here.
The last of today's Epic caching adventure. Four of us headed up from Wellington, with the intention of acquiring as many different types and sizes as possible to gain the 29th add on to the Project GC Badges. I'm also keen on Large caches in general, as they are few and far between...
Parked up, and circled around, looking for the best way in. Fortunately, I came in at an angle to easily spot it, and I directed BFG in for the sign. Now back to Palmie for an Adventure lab, and the long drive back to Wellington... TFTC indeed!

Found on a day out and about. Picked up a couple of trackables to take to Australia on the travels
Out for a trip with searchSteve and plannerpat found after have ing some issues with blackberry TFTC
A big mission to the Manawatu day today, picking up a variety of cache types for an internet-based challenge.
I wanted to stop by this one as it's a large cache, and they're pretty rare. After trying to find a way in that wasn't blocked by blackberry I eventually got in there and spotted the cache quickly (it is a large after all). Opened up and signed the log, as well as swapping a trackable. All good here. TFTC

Once we found a way in under the canopy from the side which avoided the blackberry, this large cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
This was a start of a full day caching trip from New Plymouth to complete the next two souvenirs for the Mystery at the Museum. Palmerston North was the nearest and best option to get the caches we needed as we had very few left to do in Taranaki.. By the end of day, soon after sunset we had managed to complete the souvenirs. Thanks to all the CO's who gave us that opportunity. For this one it was our first opportunity to go undercover and track the culprits and jewels.
Out of hibernation and a road trip was in Order so the team came down from taranaki to do some detective work for the museum TFTC a gem of a cache good to find one big enought to hold larger TBs sorry i didn,t have one but i did take the cheeky turtle
Enough breaks in the traffic to allow reasonably discrete approach and return from GZ. As this was a spur of the moment impromptu hunt, having finished in town quicker than expected, I didn’t have my kit with me so wasn’t prepared either for the size of container or the stash inside! Picked up TB and will pop something in next time I go past. Thanks for a great cache!
I am not really that keen on caches located on busy main roads but I figured it might be quieter on the middle day of a long weekend. I am not sure that it was though but at least I could quickly zip out of sight. I wasn't expecting this to be a difficult cache to find but it was even easier as the container was in a place that did not fit the hint and it could be seen from quite a distance away. After completing the paperwork, I put the cache back to where I reckon it must belong.
(# 5109). Today is a trip up the way to grab some Palmy caches. The weather was kind so an enjoyable day all up. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Zipped in here while heading back to Palmerston North after my first visit to the famous Vivs Kitchen in Sanson
Didn't have any trouble finding this size container... it could hold a lot of treasure!!
The logbook, the swag and the TBs were all nice and dry in their bags. TNLNSL... I didn't bring any swaps with me today. Next time!!
Thanks sunju for placing this cool cache.

Visited this cache today (having found it in April 2018) to drop off four trackables. The 2016 CITO Leaf NanoCoin is so small I have put it in a plastic bag so that it is easily seen.
Followed the CO’s instructions and placed the trackables in the trackable bag and sealed it. TFTC

Last cache of the day and a nice way to finish. Ryan did indeed zip under the canopy and was very pleased to find a decent size cache. Thanks
Day 3 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. This was find #1/100 for the day and #70/526 of our trip.
Today was a numbers run of mostly PnG caches. We started in Palmy and set off to see if we could Spell, then headed up to Bulls and after that rounded up a few Smurfs, Herbs, Airplanes and anything else in the way until we came in to finish the KAS trail we started in Oct 2016. This was our first cache of the morning. Mum did a u-turn so we were on the correct side and ducked under to find this nice sized cache while I was still on the phone to my sister (who is Kitty-sitting) A quick find and a nice size for TBs but we didnt see the listed one so didnt leave any of ours. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.

On our way back to Palmy this morning stopped off here to pick up the TB (Rabies) listed. Sadly it had gone! Hope it's just a matter of a little delay in logging the retrieval by someone!
Quick find on the way back to the house for tea
Nice size here.
Out and about with popmac.

Almost in Palmerstone North and saw that there were a couple more caches on the route. Once I found my way in, it was great to see such a large container and a quick find. TFTC.
Day Seven of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today while the other half went shopping in town, I did a tour of the roads around Palmerston North. The weather was great again, with no sign of any rain to interfere with caching activities.
Last stop for the day heading back into Palmy. Plenty of room to safely pull off the very busy highway. Headed in under the canopy and the generous sized cache was quickly found. An ideal spot to drop off a larger TB and picked up a small one to take on further travels. TFTC

I spotted that a new Earthcache had been published in Palmerston North a few weeks ago, and then lo and behold a new Virtual was published not so far away from it too! Suddenly I had the possibility to attempt 7 cache types in a day if I could find either a CITO or an event to attend in the vicinity. Luckily for me, my wish was granted as an event was published nearby so it was all on for the attempt.
So in preparation I had a look at some of the local caches that I could reasonable expect to find quickly, and this looked like it would fit my requirements. I had to work until 5, then drive up to Palmy to have a crack at this, so the light was entirely gone by the time I got to GZ to try to find this 6th type (the event would be the 7th). I still had enough time to try not to look too suspicious to motorists whilst using my torch to look around for a way in to the cache.
You can only imagine my relief when I spotted it! A nice big container too, which I applaud you for, and have awarded a FP.
All is well with the cache, and the log was quickly signed. I found the two TB's recently dropped off, and seeing as I was heading now to an event where they could be discovered by a few people I took them both and dropped off the one I had been carrying around for a couple of weeks.
Anyway, thanks for placing this cache, and helping me achieve a personal geocaching goal.

Fly into Palmy this morning to relocate a truck from TR Group PN to TR Group Auck. Thought id do a couple on my drive back.
Very quick and easy park and grab.
2x TB’s dropped.

Wow, what a big container and two of us found it at the same time coming from different locations. A favourite point for the size of the cache! TFTC.
I don't find many large caches and I love it when I do, especially since it was a nice and easy found, thank you for the cache. Also took a few trackable and left a bit of swag.

I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
This cache gets me one dot day closer to my goal this goal is more of a long-term goal as in the past I usually only went caching on the weekends so I have large gaps in the calendar although I have been making a big effort to get out on the days on which there are missing dots
The first cache of the day, hope to get many more in the time that I have here in Palmerston North today.
Spotted the cache a few meters away stomp on some dead blackberry vines to get to the cache discovered some trackable sign the log book and was on my merry way
Also as this cache starts with the letter Z it gets me one step closer to spelling my name for
The Spelling Challenge #1: Geonick (Manawatu) all I need now is a 6 which I plan to get from the mystery cache ( 6 days on the road ) which I plan to tomorrow.
Thanks for the cache

We have been hanging onto a few trackables for too long so today I stopped by and dropped three trackables off. Cache all good. Please take care to hide container as found. Thanks.
Quick check on this cache today and all is in order. I have dropped off three trackables picked up at an event held recently in Feilding. We encourage cachers to not take them all without dropping one or more off in return so that others get to enjoy the experience of finding a trackable.
On my way home after attending a Shell function at a nearby venue. From necessity it had to be a quick dash. Having been to a function I was not dressed for serious searching but fortunately it was a quick find. Lots of swag in the container and the first thing I noticed was a model of a Shell road tanker. Very appropriate given what I had just been attending. Thanks for the cache. Took the TB Polly the Parrot for onward travels.
Great canopy to hide such a huge cache under. Cars whizzing by -do they know we are here? Collected a trackable. TFTC.
Team LE another 1 for the day, cache dry & replaced as found. Busy noisy road but able to park well off the road. TFTC
Located the cache fairly quickly, and wow! what a great collection of swag in there, I haven't seen anything as good for many years. We were quite tempted by a few items but didn't have anything with us as good or better. A great spot to place a cache, many thanks.
Did not realise this road was going to be so busy at this time of day - late afternoon on a Friday - so just as well there was good parking off road. Possum approached GZ from one angle but Cleo had chosen a better route and spotted the cache easily. Where have all the trackables gone? Lovely new container. TFTC sunju.
We did drop four trackables into this cache and seeing the last finder commented she took the three that were remaining it had us concerned what had happened to the fourth trackable in a matter of just a couple of days. As I was not in suitable attire today to go check I have to extend a huge thank you to Push'nEast for popping along to check. Sadly but luckily, it was found dropped on the ground and could have easily been lost as it blended into the debris on the ground. I know the planet pursuit challenge is on and collecting and dropping trackables gains you a few points towards this challenge, but we are sorry that our request to take one or swap so others can enjoy the experience was not heeded. The thrill of finding a trackable, especially for new cachers, helps to grow and keep the game alive. Have trackables just become a frenzied grab for a statistical growth purpose with no heed paid to its background or goals? I must admit I had started to go down that road before realising it's more fun to stop and smell the roses whilst enjoying the background behind the trackable! Surely the trackable's owner deserves that respect for the effort they have gone to?
i needed a cache for today and now this has been checked over etc it seemed a good choice for today. It is a super spot for a cache hidden away so well and nice and big! I approached it the harder way but soon had it in hand. there were three Travel Bugs in it so i up lifted those and i will move them on for points for the planet pursuit. Thank you for this cache.
I was the lucky person to find the new, enlarged container - must have followed you in later on the same day. Quite a surprise as I was expecting an Eclipse tin!! Nicely done sunju and filled with goodies. The safe parking when driving in to PN is appreciated.
Blackberry cut back. Container changed to a large container. Now suitable for trackables. Left some swag for swaps. We have also dropped in four trackables. It would be nice for people to swap a trackable for a trackable instead of just picking them all up.
Finally brought a car that I had want for the last 3 years and had to fly up to Auckland to drive it back to Dunedin. So 2 birds with one stone a new car and caching all the way home. This is one of many on the trip home was a nice and easy one to find this was full of earwigs yack I hate them. TFTC
Thanks Sunju this nice quick drive by....I can't believe how busy this Road is and lookout for the thorn guardians...tftc
Rip under the canopy then rustle amongst rubbish while hearing the constant roar of traffic. Was glad to finally find close to entry point but then I was too worried about the BlackBerry. Thanks for the placement sunju
Nice find on a tour around the area from cache to cache.

Had a few hours spare today, so Popmac and I headed out to make a few finds in the area. Some Popmac had already found, some he hadn't. Thanks for the cache, no problems locating it today.
Must be getting old as it was more of a slow clamber than a zip under the canopy, carefully picking our way between the blackberry.
Once under there though we were pleased to be away from the view of the passing traffic.
It didn't take to long to track the cache down.
Thanks for putting this here sunju.

Stopped off on my way back from swim training in Feilding to find this one.
Initially I looked in the right place, but I didn't spot the cache. So I ventured further under the canopy and searched for a few minutes more. Eventually I returned to where I began and had a closer look and this time I found the cache.
Nice hide.
Thanks.

#9457. Zipped under the canopy in Newbury. Circled round a bit and eventually found the correct entry point. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Found on a detour home from church.
I only had my phone with me and the GPS reception was bouncing a lot, hence I tried a few different access points before getting the right one.
Thanks for helping me tick off another dot-day

We got visitors fro the night so we all decided to go for a drive and get a few caches and lucky for us we had some to get along the way also. it was a nice quick find, I was lucky enough to avoid the prickly section, as we approached Ground zero, cache is all good here we signed then continued on our way thank you for placing a cache here. TFTC nice being able to park close to GZ with a busy road close by. well done.
We went on a little outing up Sanson way today to mop up some recent cache placements. We stopped here on our way back, and appreciated the good parking, well clear of the busy road.
We also appreciated the cover the canopy gave from all the passing traffic. However, we did not appreciate the blackberry! We were aware we needed to watch out for it, but its not always easy to see amongst the other vegetation, and you need to choose your point of entry very carefully and keep taking great care. We came away with scratches and snagged clothing. However, we are glad we did this now because it will be quite a nightmare as the blackberry really gets going with its summer growth. The cache might have to be re-named: Rip Under the Canopy!
The GPS seemed several metres out inside the thicket, but fortunately Mrs G quickly spotted the hide, for which the hint gave relevant guidance. We then made an easier exit from the area than we had done making our entrance to it! TFTC
