Cache missing again. Platform could do with a spruce up so not replacing until that's done.
Finally found it after a wee search. I was looking in the right place but not hard enough! Nice to get this one and enjoy the view on a lovely West Coast day. TFTC
Lol. Its always good to end the day with a DNF lol. It was dark when I got here. I'm down on my hands and knees looking for the cache with the torch on my phone. Had that feeling I was being watched, I turned around to see a man in a dressing gown standing there. WT*. Time to call it a day I think. Quickly abandoned the search, jumped back in the car and headed to the pub for a drink and a meal to reminisce over a most enjoyable day.
Out early to get this one, and view Greymouth with the blanket of fog over the surrounding hills.TFTC.
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*Good location, took us far too long to find this one, I was looking for a different type of container. Hint is correct!*

Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

Thanks for placing this cache as we wouldn't have known to come here. Good views of Greymouth
On our trip down the coast just before lockdown we came here and spent ages searching. Today we were back armed with a little bit more info from a previous finder but it still took a number of minutes searching before we finally spotted it. Thanks holymu

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our last day of our Queens Birthday weekend in Greymouth. This morning was not as chilly as yesterday, so after an early morning's walk up Kings track, we walked to the waterfall at Coal Creek in Runanga, then returned to Greymouth for a few more caches and lunch.
That hairpin bend was a bit scary and luckily didn't meet a car coming downhill as I tried to turn and ended up on the wrong side of the road. Nice viewpoint of Greymouth, even though it was a bit cloudy today. Didn't take long to find the cache, thanks to the hint. Now to look for some lunch . TFTC.

#18222. We've never been to this lookout before; it proved to offer a different viewpoint. Quick find by Troodles. TFTC.
Due to NZ being at Alert level 4 and some people insisting on continuing to geocache and put others at risk I am disabling my caches until such time as it's safe to resume this activity.
Any logs I receive for finds during this time will be deleted. I don't care anymore about YOUR safety than you obviously do but I do care very much about others and want them to be safe so please do NOT look for any of my caches while they are disabled.
In the meantime, there's always plenty of puzzles to be solved or created but above all PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE!

What a great view from a hidden gem of this great place in New Zealand. And some High's and low getting this one found after a long search...to long should have been quicker..

It took a bit of hunting to get hold of this wee blighter. Got there in the end with Ms_KR.
Some heavy rain overnight, and a late start for a change. The weather was "reasonable" today.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

First for the day. Not raining but the cups nearly blew off the plates when I was taking the dishes to the camp ground kitchen . Tftc
Time for just a few more for today. Two of us couldn't see for looking so we were pleased when Sidewaze had a better Mother's look than us. That meant we got a good look at the gorgeous views while she had to roll up the log and replace the cache - them's the breaks! TFTC # 14,573
I was amazed when I realised that despite many visits to Greymouth it had never occurred to me to drive up here and take in the view. I was a little embarrassed when I realised I'd been so busy cache-hunting on this visit that I clean forgot to look at the view from the platform . Oh well, I got a pretty good idea what it would have been like as we descended - - - and if there's something I have to miss out on I'd much rather it was the view than the smilie ! TFTC .
We thought we had time for just a few more caches before sorting dinner. This was looking grim when 2 people had checked the likely spot without success. Then the third person checked it – properly.
Thanks.
Thanks.
This was our second time here looking for this cache. The CO checked it for us last time and it was found on the ground. No worries today as the cache was in the first place we checked. We had another cuppa on the platform and tonight we watched the sunset. It was really beautiful but it was so cold that it has taken hours to warm up again.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Last time we visited at night and could not spot anything, maybe it was already on the ground? Today a quick find and great to tick this box. TFT
I will be in Greymouth later this week and will check to see if the cache is still there. Meantime, apologies to those who've had a problem.
We sat here eating our dinner at the picnic table, enjoying the view and then spent 1/2 an hour serious searching by three adults. Very disappointed to have to leave and not found this cache.
Couldn't find it. Very small search area so would be surprised if it actually was still here. Searched very thoroughly.
We have tried many caches in N Z. Most have been found in July 2018 as the last recorded find. Are these caches still here??
Took a few minutes but found in the end. Very cold out today and a bit of rain but still a lovely view. Tftc
Nice view! Last day of caching in this area before continuing our road trip through New Zealand. tftc!
A quick find by the shortie in the group! Thanks for the hide and bringing us here - a real quick look at the view today due to the icy coldness and rain.
Coming back from Coal Creek and heading down the line I sidetracked to this recently checked cache. Did a U-turn at the top and parked facing down and had a search. Armed with an accurate and helpful (thanks) pointer the cache was soon in hand and replaced as found. Lid was really tight to remove for me. T F T C holymu.
The last part of the day involved mopping up a few solved puzzles and heading to Hokitika via Kumara (my least fave vegetable!)
Day 2 of the trip and with daylight saving starting/ending yesterday I found myself up nice and early and in McDs having breakfast at around 0615. The bike had been loaded into the car for the cycle along the beach to grab the Survivor series remainder (though one DNF would prevent a clean sweep!). It took around 1 hour 40 minutes from #3 (DNF last time) to the end of the line #33, and only 30 minutes cycling on the way back, quite a few caches found on this trip and nearly all were puzzles too. After that was done it was drop the bike in the apartment and head along from Cobden to Point Elizabeth all the way to Rapahoe beach end, then all the way back to the car and finally off to Hokitika, along the back roads, before the rain came down too heavily. As it was the rain got heavier and heavier and caching was stopped for the evening at around 1800, stuck on just over 90 finds. A great days caching and apologies in advance for the cut n paste logs, will comment specifically where I remember any variation.
Easter weekend 2018 is here and I have a cunning plan. Well, a caching plan, but what's the difference? With mrs and daughter working over the weekend and me with a few days off work there was a chance to convert some of my solved puzzles over on the West Coast into smiley faces. And add to my West Coast caching total. And do the Point Elizabeth walk, and several other appealing strolls. And some other stuff and all the way along gaining extra points for the planetary Challenge thingy to gain some electronic 2D Geo-souvenirs. And so, setting off around 0730 on Easter Sunday with the trusty mountain bike aboard (for the Greymouth beach-side track) I clocked up just under 1000 kms by road, a few extra on 2 wheels and several more on 2 feet, quite the trip. The threatened rain only arrived on the second afternoon in Hokitika (by which time I'd done my walks for the day) and the drive back from Greymouth via Westport was in blazing Autumn sunshine - Beautiful. Fantastic scenery all around and a large number of caches from b&w and gracie7&mum helped the total to just over 180 finds.
An awesome few days which my family wouldn't have enjoyed, but conversely actually would have, for the most part. An FTF in Reefton on the way through on Day 1 was another bonus, and monkey off the back for the monthly streak. A few DNFs which is to be expected with that many looked for, but a lot of good sights and experiences too. Thanks to all the COs for their placements.

I am not having the greatest of days in terms of finding geocaches. I was aware that there had been some DNFs but thought that maybe the cache was there but cleverly hidden. The hint meant I could confine my search to a small area but I did not find anything of interest.
We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.
No find here today.

Searched for short while managing not to fall down the large hole! Sadly a DNF for us today
Couldn't find this one, so we sat on the platform and had a cuppa and enjoyed the views - next time
The view on a nice day was fantastic. A clear view over Greymouth and the coast. Well worth the visit. A favourite from us. TFTC
Back for a second visit, with a bit more idea about what to look for. The cache was felt and retrieved, and taken back to the car to sign up. Great views even on a cloudy day. Surprisingly lots of traffic on this steep road. TFTC
Great spot, but not a quick find.
Felt for the school kids walking home up the hill.
Thanks a lot

Arnt we lucky to have great geofriends that care enough to place caches for us in our neck of the woods Abit of a miserable day - one of those cold ones when all you want to find is a quick PnG. And quick it was. Mum was onto this one really fast and then grabbed some nearby KanTabs for Kidney Kids while I signed the new fresh blank log for the FTF just after 4pm. As hard as it is the other one will have to wait until next week Thanks heaps for the smilie
