Logs
A cacher called ecfam had me check 2 caches just 3 days apart leaving the impression that the logs were saturated and no longer usable. It was weird because the logs are waterproof. I spent time and fuel on this scam. All is good here.
Out on a ride from Greymouth to Kumara and return this morning.
Ride complete.
Now driving home, but first there's time for another three hours caching as I leave.
A good hide.

We are come from Germany and make holiday round about New Zealand . Thank you for this cache
Spending the winter woofing, tramping and exploring the west coast caching along the way ..of course..
Back in greymouth for a while working at the Noah's ark backpackers...so a good base to tick off a few more..
Set myself a mission to hit 8000 finds but the end of the year...that's an average of 6 a day ..
Parked on the main road for a quick walk to gz...was looking on the weing side of the road initially ..found quickly once in the right place ...quite street but I felt like someone could pop out of a drive way any second..tftc

I am glad I heeded the warning and walked up... Nice quick find of the cool hide, TFTC!!
Found with Kiwimykl. This was one of the random local caches that we did between our major missions and was a QEF PnG for us. Kiwimykl did the honors once again while I sat in the car. This had the potential to be a tricky find as the previous finder did not leave the 'tell tale' exposed, but Kiwimykl was up to play on this one. Interestingly, KM pointed out another local street which was the name of one of his Intermediate School teachers. It was Cowper Street. He related on how Mrs Cowper insisted her name was pronounced Cooper, but being pre-teen adolescents the kids at the time used to wind her up by using the bovine emphasis in their pronounciation.
Kiwimykl and I decided to spend a few days based in Greymouth between Christmas and New Years as a geocaching break from our greater family, who we are having three camping/caravanning holidays between 17 Dec 2021 and 24 Jan 2022. Over five days we cached the 'Grey' area taking in such places as the Larriken Track, Omutumotu Bush Walk, Mahinapua Tramway, Brunner Mine Site including both sides of the Grey River as far as Stillwater, Hokitika Gorge, Woodstock Rimu Heritage Trail, Rewanui Walkway, some Survivor series puzzles we missed on a previous visit as well as a few PnGs in between the various locations. This area certainly provides a veritable pot pourri for geocachers. Our logs were either in full or abridged to KM + ND as log space permitted.
Thanks to all to CO's who placed and maintained these caches, especially G7&M and H&H. However from the amount of pill bottles used as cache containers, we have serious concerns about your respective health and wish you all the best in that respect. As a token of our gratitude, we left a token of our appreciation behind which will become apparent in due course.

The lovely weather from yesterday is now a distant memory, and we woke to a grey Greymouth, as forecasted. As the drizzle was very light, we decided to head out after breakfast to look for a couple of caches before this mornings event.
Heeding the warning about the narrow road, we parked further down the road and walked the remaining 90m or so. With excellent co-ords, and an inkling about how the cache would be hidden, it didn't take long to track down. The O ring is broken and fell on the ground, but SW was able to track it down and re-assemble.
Just as we were about to return the cache, a car came down the hill, then another came up the hill as we were walking back to the car. For a small dead end road, that's a lot of traffic for a Sunday morning before 8am! TFTC.

#20367. A nice quick find to start the day. The O ring has perished and broken. I put it back in place, but it will likely fall off in the near future. TFTC.
Nice hide. I struggled to retrieve the cache and when I finally did it came covered in a dead, slimy, smelly weta. Gross! My hands still smell despite washing them several times! TFTC
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*
Lonely cache, wasn't expecting that in this area!

This is our first cache for the day Sunday morning a nice easy find. Thanks for this cache hazedarus
A cool hide. Luckily there was still enough daylight to spot something worth investigating. TFTH .
You didn't say if it was a good memory or a not so good one? Nice quick find here thanks hazedarus. TFTC # 14,646

Well the triped to the coast started out great, right untill the Flat Tyre, and the wheel nuts that had been tightrn with a rattle gun, that we could not undo, but one call out new trye and 4 hours and $388 we were on our way again, stll manged to get 50 odd caches for the day, many thanks to all the cache placers - Bitsprayer
We wanted to find at least one cache in Greymouth to record our route on our NZ tour. We chose this one and parked our motorhome on the main road and walked from there. The GPSr took a while to settle but we found the well hidden cache after a short search. All is well.
We had tried to meet up with a walking friend we met in the UK when she was working in London, but unfortunately she was away visiting family in Christchurch which was a shame.
Our thanks to the CO for placing this cache; we love your caching name by the way!

TFTC........Staying with people on Weenick Road so very close by to find. We are loving caching in Greymouth and all of New Zealand, with its great scenery and friendly people. Visiting from Sask. Canada
I had an hour to spare before work so decided to find a couple of caches. Managed to grab before a typical West Coast downpour. Tftc
Last day of caching in this area before continuing our road trip through New Zealand. tftc!
A nice and quick find as I drove down the hill. Cheers.
Today we pottered around Westport, geting some of the nearby caches. Then off to Hokitika for the night. Great weather and a lovely drive.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Wee Nick aka Little devil, this was a dark o clock find after the nearby (non) event, though was an easy find to make. All good and replaced as found. One cache by each of you today, thanks hazedarus for the cache.
NQF here and managed a three point turn for our getaway! Yes damp inside but with the plastic style log was ok to sign. Left our gel pens at home though! TFTC and greetings from the UK
On the way home from Hoki today I remembered the last log saying the log was wet so I got Mum to swing up here and we replaced the wet log with a floral purple log strip. These were tested in the washing machine and you can still write on them.
Surprised to find the log rather wet as it is hidden in a well sheltered spot. TFTC
We had an appointment this morning that turned out to be unnecessary so while we were up this way of town we decided to find a cache. We had left the TBs at home but saw in the description this wasnt big enough anyway which turned out perfectly. Mum had been up this road before as she used to know someone who lived up here but it was the first time for me. A quick easy no hassles PnG for a FTF @ 10:30am. Thanks heaps for the smilie
