Staying a couple of nights at the nearby NZMCA park, and headed out today for a bike ride now the weather is clearing. A super cool hide here, worth a FP, TFTC

01-Nov-24
Found while out for a run. Staying in the area and was looking for a couple of finds. Locating is the easy part, definitely a trick to signing log however with the right tools would be okay. TFTC.

Smile Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we are in Invercargill visiting family & friends went for a bit of a walk this morning so that Mrs McMike2012 could get her step tally for the day & so that we could nab some caches as well it turned out to be easy find, getting it out of its hides-hole was a different matter, just glad that there werent any muggles around at the time log book completed & then safely returned to its position Mrs McMike2012 thought that this deserved a Favourite Point, so here it is were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,194 for us!

Such a clever hide! I've searched each time I've come down here for this one and after a swift reply from the owner with a cheeky hint I finally got it. TFTC

06-May-24
Looked for 40 min. Even with the extra hit we walked away empty handed and freezing from the wind! Hopefully next time we can find it

25-Apr-24
Thanks I found it very hidden

14-Apr-24
Went for a bike ride around these parts this afternoon and rode past quite a few caches. Stopped to look for just three. I spent quite some time looking for this one with a muggle friend providing some assistance. Got to the point of messaging the C.O. for a clue and hoping that Id get a response while I was still there. Fortunately I did and Im grateful to the C.O. for that! That clue did narrow down the options but it was still a rather tricky hide! With the extra clue it didnt take a lot longer to find. In my opinion this cache probably warrants a difficulty rating of 3.0. And Im not sure that I understand the official hint. I cant say that it helped us at all! #7284. TFTC.

05-Apr-24

On a mission to reach 6000 finds today! This was #5991, tftc!Great hide but like others, very happy to have acquired a hint beforehand or otherwise this would have been a mission impossible Smile

04-Jan-24
#23434. It didn't take long to spot this cache that blends in very well with its surroundings. TFTC.

04-Jan-24
The weather forecast for today was not good, so StreetWalkerNZ and I were out and about at 8 am to take advantage of fine weather. The drizzle had started by now so we were thankful for a bit of cover. We had been recommended to do this cache by previous finders and had a hint as well. Luckily the GPSr was spot on and in a short time, SW had found something of interest. I had a tool which made retrieval easy. Another lovely hide. TFTC.

28-Dec-23
Not much luck for me today. Have tried this one twice with no success. Another day perhaps

17-Dec-23
Hmm... 36 favouites? We have to stop here! But, people spend a long time searching for this, then ask for a clue, then come back to search again... We aren't going to have time to do that, so, did the PAF last night and was gifted with a generous hint. Got up the hill, good views in all directions. It still took a bit of looking... and then Mrs KiwiChris was delighted to spot an unusual bit! Was this hide organised when the huts were built?

16-Dec-23
Mixed messages from this one 36 points, but several searchers spent a long time looking. Fortunately daywalk had done some homework and had got a good hint from a previous finder. A good search and then Mrs KC spotted something interesting and did the nimble finger work necessary to reveal the container.TNLN. TFTC.

18-Nov-23

26-Aug-23
Visited here last weekend and contacted the CO knowing I would be back soon. The hint they gave kinda helped but this time with time and a bit better weather I was able to spot the container. Didn't have the suggested tool but a natural one did the job. TFTC and a FP!

07-May-23
After some searching and head scratching we were about to give up until I seen something out of place, returned to car to grab a tool. And yep, grand daughter extracted it. Very clever hide

20-Mar-23
My brother and I had lots of fun playing hide and seek while Dad did lots of head scratching. Then we got a hint and I spotted something which led to Dad finally finding it for us. Really cool one, I like it. TFTC

20-Mar-23
A few visits to this one ended in frustration, but a nudge from the CO and the oldest geokids observation had this nifty little hide in hand, glad to have finally knocked it off finally! TFTC

21-Dec-22
A very clever hide here TT! We had previous attempts at this cache and we had given up all hope of tracking this one down but with a little help from a friend, Deane made the find while out for a bike ride around the estuary. TFTC TT, very clever. [^]

21-Nov-22
After a very long look last night on dusk we had to give up, quick message to the CO with a great hint and magnet in hand we headed down in the morning for a look, quick easy find and cache in great order, and an easy fav point to give, thanks for the placement

31-Oct-22
Thought this wouldn’t be to hard but I couldn’t identify the cache. Will try again soon.

24-Sep-22
After my flight got canceled this morning I had some time to kill before catching my later in the day flight. So off for a walk. A previous visit left me with a blue frown but today with obviously a different set of eyes spotted what I needed relatively quickly. Thanks for the clever hide and another smiley.

19-Aug-22
Had a bit of spare time this afternoon and thought this cache looked a great way to fill in some time.
Sadly that was not the case as was found and signed it about 30 seconds.
Sometimes in caching you just get lucky.
TFTC

30-Jul-22
Disappointed to not find this given we were introducing friends to geocaching. Made them interested though so got a couple of others nearby.

13-May-22

10-May-22
A clever hide. Thanks

04-May-22
Stopped here to stretch my legs while waiting for Vodafone to come back to me after sending some results in... Needed to stretch my legs after being in the car all morning.... hmm wonder if there's any caches nearby... there is! OK let's have a look, high FPs... ok this should be interesting.

I had an idea of what I could be looking for. Looked around and spotted something that could be a possibility.. Turns out I was on the right line, just not quite correct with my guess.. Nicely done of course! Unfortunately, I only had time for this one.. no matter.

TFTC Tuitigger, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #3255

Second time unlucky.

23-Feb-21
Taking geopup for a walk from new NZMCA Park nearby. Had to dodge the tractor mowing the grass along the pathway, and keep my little dog safe from a German Shepherd dog. A sneaky little cache, and with a little bit of help from my son who lives here and is a geocacher finally managed to prize it from the hiding place. A tool would have made the job easier but didn't have one with me. TFTC.

06-Jan-21
Had a look around while sheltering from the rain and spotted something off. Andy couldn't quite get to it and suggested a certain tool would be handy. I dug in my bag and handed it over and cache was soon ours. Log signed and cache replaced as found then we read up on the next objective while waiting for the rain to stop. tftc

04-Nov-20
What cool rooms. Thankfully no muggles about for a thorough search here. Finally got this elusive one tagged. Cheers.

Wednesday 4 November. Bluff is on my radar today. So Toby lets get going!

Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

26-Sep-20
Too clever for me.

13-Sep-20
At the event yesterday we had asked where the interesting local caches were. The locals warned us about this one, said it was tricky, and the logs agreed. We started out with great enthusiasm, using our TOTT, but no joy. We read logs, went over the sites again, still no joy. Went to a cache nearby, phoned a friend, came back to contemplate and have another go-round, but even less joy. Decided to go and get some other caches and maybe come back, but sadly ran out of time. We will return.

13-Sep-20
Ok so we went and had breakfast, warmed up a bit and decided to go back and have another try. Armed with a broad hint from a local and some disposable ponchos from a nearby hardware store, we managed the find!!!!! Worth a fav and def not a 2.5 difficulty!

13-Sep-20
We came, we looked, we poked, we looked again and after an hour we left to have breakfast. After filling our bellies and regaining our caching mojo by finding other caches we returned armed with a hint. Again we looked, we prodded, we looked and . . . .is that it? Ahhhh, what a clever hide, definitely deserves a favourite! Found with Spoonz2

23-Aug-20
New log today, thanks Annielin

Out with the family and Pathfinders on a chilly sunny day. Had to nab at least one. TFTC

08-Jun-20
Biked here from Queens Park. Super cold wind but after twenty minutes I found it! Fave from me. I noted what was missing first and then put it all together before finding the sneaky wee bugger! TFTC! Fave point from me.

30-May-20
What a brilliant hide! My son was stoked to find this one after some searching. Thanks so much for hiding.

19-May-20
Spent quite a long time hunting and touching every screw to come up short, met a lovely chap who helped me look and I explained geocaching to him he thinks it’s a great idea. Shall attempt another time when it’s not just on dusk ️

11-Mar-20
Can add my name to the did not finds. Notice also that a lot of returnees on those that did find so don't feel so bad. Had a good look around for about 15 minutes then time constraints meant I needed to keep on walking. Will have to make a return.

06-Mar-20
This geocacher reported that the logbook is full.

06-Mar-20
Tftc. Very tricky find. Finally located on 3rd visit attempt with span85

04-Jan-20
Found on a caching two day journey into Central Otago and Southland with Bitsprayer. Really enjoyed the challenge of the puzzle caches and the many hours spent to unravel the coordinates. Also great to travel along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. Over a beaut day yesterday we arrive here early in the more in very unpleasant conditions but toiled until success, A devious hide. Worth a fav. as we were starting to get a bit gun shy of the CO caches. TFTC

03-Jan-20
Walked rigth up and put my hand on it, ( Yeah Right ) took a while to find for us the coordaintes were at the other end, and we wont talk about the dam strong and cold wind. Thanks Bitsprayer

26-Dec-19
Eventually located the cache with rediguana after reading the description. Crafty! Not what I thought it was going to be! Got permission from CO to log online as we didn't bring a pen. Don't just assume this one is missing after seeing the DNFs. TFTC.
