Visiting Sydney for four days to attend a conference. In between the schedule when I had free time, I picked up some labs and caches in the city that had cropped up since I was last in town earlier in the year.Did my best here with the hoarding around the construction. Cheers fimbulisen!
First day in Sydney, the goal for today is to explore the city center and the botanic gardens with of course a few caches along the way Tftc ! Greetings from France
Four ladies from Sweden (Tigertassen, ursus67, Lnganfans, pidjas) are visiting Australia. This day we took a long walk, more than 20 km. We mostly log as TULP.This was one of the places we visited. We have done our best and sent some answer to CO.A big thank you to the CO for this cache.
Construction work making the question hard. But we sended the information on the sign.D var det dags fr lite ventyr. Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
Four Swedish ladies walking around in Sydney looking for caches. We found this. Thank you.
Stage 1 of our trip is Sydney to visit Sal. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Day 1. Walked from Maroubra around the Malabar headland. Day 2. We wandered around Centennial Park in the morning then headed to the QVB in the afternoon for a bit of shopping (and of course geocaching!). Day 3. Met friends for lunch in Glebe then wandered along the water front. Day 4. After a bit of shopping we headed to Coogee for lunch. The plan was to walk to Bondi but the threat of rain had us abandoning our plan at Bront instead. Day 5. We strolled around Barangaroo.
Over here to see a newborn grandie. Off for a walk today completing an AL. SAW THIS VIRTUAL NEARBY BUT GZ WAS FENCED OFF WITH PICTURES AROUND THE FENCE. Sed photo attached. Many thanks
With the new metro station at Barangaroo, it was a great opportunity to clear that section of the map. Evidence of being there has been sent to the CO as the wall is still not visible due to construction. Admittedly I wasn't too aware of this area back when the tower and port facilities were still there, but it truly has seemingly transformed and it's a shame we can't see the tower anymore. Thanks for putting the cache here!(Logged under my previous username, 'hjckrau'.)
Mrs Dromaniax is in Sydney this weekend, having a well-earned break with her friend T and her son T. They are staying just around the corner, so they decided to head out and grab a cache or two.The weather today has been absolutely marvellous (nice Richieism there), and after a lovely dinner, they are wandering around the Barangaroo and The Rocks area of Sydney. This area of Sydney is undoubtedly different from how it appeared a couple of decades ago, and it is fantastic that such prime real estate has been converted into public use rather than sold for the top dollar to be developed. We have sent the answers to the question.Thank you, fimbulisen, for this Virtual cache.
Perfect day to explore this virtual cache.GZ was surrounded by construction fences. Evidence of my attendance at GZ sent to the CO. Thanks @fimbulisen for establishing Ozymandias for the GC community to enjoy !!
West Oz geocacher in Sydney for a couple of days and today was a perfect day to explore this virtual cache. Enjoyable & educational. Answers sent to the CO. Thanks @fimbulisen for establishing Ozymandias for the GC community to enjoy !!
A bit of construction going on hereLogged as found with CO permission Cheers Steveo
TFTV done after walking through Barangaroo Reserve. A lot of work going on here so I hope I got the correct photo. A lovely area to walk around here.
Nice park here. Would probably have looked better with the tower still standing. Bit dark but here's my pic, tftc!
Tftc. Having a wander around Barangaroo park and walked up to inspect this virtual with red_ear_slider
Found with Portstevo while doing and AL nearby, been a lovely arvo for caching. Tftc
Thanks fimbulisen for this fun and educational Virtual! Before arrival, I thought the (sunset-ish) views wokof be amazing not so much I guess thats why they needed a tower .If you look VERY closely at my photo, and squint with both eyes, you can see some water!
Found on a big walk around Sydney whilst in town for professional development and a work function in Kings Cross the day (and night) before. Grabbed while doing the AL in the Reserve. Nice and easy virtual at a very interesting historic site. TFTC!

Our first day in Sydney and our first cache in Sydney. Thanks for showing and many greetings from Germany !
Our first Cache in Australia! Together with Docla I found (so we hope) the right answer... Thanks for this virtual and many greetings from Germany.
Reperio 19:23I was headed to Sydney this evening for a 2 day course, and so it gave me a great opportunity to find a few caches along the way. Once I had checked into my accomodation, I headed out to find some of the more urbanised caches in the area. This was the second of two virtuals found on this trip, and it was an interesting spot with some great history which I didnt of previously. With Vivid going on nearby, there were lots of people around.Gratias fimbulisenAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
What a pleasant spot to visit so near to the CBD, but completely different in pace. TFTC.
Travel group activities were completed a little after two in the afternoon, so i decided to spent part of the afternoon in further caching efforts around the Sydney Harbor and the Rocks area. Answer to the question posed has been sent to CO.
Thanks for this opportunity for this walk, just lovely and to learn about this site just incredible!
Our first virtual in Australia. Thanks so much for the opportunity and history here!
On my last full day in Australia, I decided to see how many caches I could pick up. This was cache 3/15 - thanks for the cache!
What a beautiful day in Sydney, ideal for strolling around the city and geocaching. What a lovely area this is.TFTCDon Paul
Tftc, spent the morning at Barangaroo with the wife. I was last here when it was still being finished. The Tower was such a fixture of my childhood, everytime we drove across the bridge I always wondered what it was!
The extended Crooked Clan are enjoying a weekend visiting Sydney. Arriving yesterday, we had a great day, finishing the day with a Hoodoo Guru's concert at "Meatstock" festival out at Homebush. This morning, whilst the rest of the crew are getting some breakfast and doing the touristy stuff around Circular Quay, I snuck away to grab some caches.I jumped off the light rail and took a rainy walking tour through the CBD, Circular Quay. I finally made my way to Observatory Hill and then on towards Darling Harbour and this virtual. The weather as quite unpleasant when I arrived here - raining , windy and surprisingly cold. I wasn't certain if I was looking at the correct wall or not, but I opted not to stay too long in the rain. Photos were taken and answers have been sent to the CO. Many thanks fimbulisen Pete#7,833
On our 2nd day in Sydney we walked around and came to this park.Nice atmosphere here!
How the mighty are fallen! Shelley's poem is quite famous, but I'm not sure I knew about the other version. The park itself is probably quite lovely when it's not raining!Answers sent, tftc
Interesting poem. Wasn't familiar with it. That's the thing with geocaching...On this Slightly rainy morning we went for a walk around Barangaroo reserve. Got sone lab cdd as he's and this one. Nice views from here as well.TFTC!
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. FP

Cool EC, giving a favorite point! Found with our SPCA24 team from the US and Canada. Answer sent by a group member. Thanks for the fun!
I'm out caching on this beautiful day while visiting your country. I am visiting from Rhode Island and traveling with a group of cachers from USA and Canada. We will be traveling to Brisbane, Sydney, and embarking on an NCL cruise to the South Pacific. Logs will be signed with our names or group name to saveroom on logs. SPCA24. Thank you to the COs who hide and maintain these caches. Everything below this line is for Project-GC log numbers. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** I will be attending any nearby events to meet up with local cachers. I will be targeting gadget caches, which are always a fun challenge. Older caches and Virtuals aren't to be missed. Solved puzzles that I've spent many snowy days working on. Earthcaches are always worth the lessons learned. Challenge caches are some of my favorites even if I don't qualify yet... something to work towards. Webcams before they all disappear. High favorites are always worth the fun. Adventure Labs point out things I would usually just drive by without the work a CO puts into them. New counties, whenever possible, for some of those challenges I've already signed. Let's not forget towns for MA351 whenever in the area. I'm always on the lookout for large sized containers and caches for my Fizzy and Jasmer grids. Logs will be stamped with our caching names or initials to save room on logs. I don't always stamp in order, I will fill in spaces if there are any on the log. If answers are required, one of us will send them when we get home. Thank you to all of the COs for the time and dedication of hiding and maintaining these Geocaches for everyone to find! ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
Greeting from beautiful British Columbia, Canada!!Off on another great adventure. We are starting in Australia and ending up in Tahiti caching along the way. Signed the log books with SPCA24Thanks to all of the COs for placing these caches for us to find and for adding to our fun day. Answers for virtual and earth caches will be sent by a member of our groupThanks for the virtual

We started from Norway 26th february, to London, then Singapore, and arrived in Adelaide 28th february, around 10:00 am.Got our rental car, and drove to our AirBnB-apartment!Since we had long tour, and our sleep was turned all over, we soon went to sleep. But 2 hours later, we "had" to go, to an event! The day after, there was the Mega-Event on Leap day, and the event after another, and a cache after another, was found, signed and logged. After 5 days in Adeaide, we where heading for Melbourne, where several old caches, and virtuals waited. But since theres so much to do, so many caches to find, we moved on after only half-a-day in Melbourne. So we where heading for the last and final Webcam in Australia, and then som more, before we travelled towards Canberra. In Canberra we had to hours, since we wanted some time in Sydney, at yet a few old caches, like Fryin Pan, Lane Cove(Cave...?), and others.Yesterday we found three caches, since there was 3 hours driving to Fryin Pan, one way,so thats 6 hours forth and back. So, today, i needed to take it really slow!, so we drove to Urban Oasis, and then to the real center of Sydney.Since we had so many days with long drivings, not so much food, or drinks,i wanted to take it really slow, so we did.We parked in a parking-garage, and headed for some Virtuals, some traditionals, and obvius to the Opera-house.We had a lunch in between there, and eterg wanted some coffee, so we found a cafe/restaurantand felt the atmosphere.Took a lot of pictures, before we went for an event. There we met few geocaches, would have thought Sydney was full og Geocachers, but, they wherent here..But, all was nice and welcoming, even here, not only in Adelaide! , and as a bonus we got two multis also. What else?yeah, eterg has filled like 15 gaps in her hidden month calendar.I filled up 4 of 5 gaps in my hidden month calendar! Now i misses only one, june 2000, and that can be found in Ireland, Dublin, Europes first,so that project sees the light in the tunnell!(Yes, i know, if you see the light in the tunnell, that can be a train coming towards you in 100 km/h)Tomorrow we're goin home! First to Shanghai!! 10 hours flight!!, then to Copenhagen, 14 hours flight...!!and finally to Oslo, thats like 1 or 2 hours!Thank you all for everything! For caches!, for events!, Labs!, stories!, places you brought me and showed me!, all new people/geocaches i met!all travelbugs i discovered, or grabbed, or got...!Thank you!

Geocachers on tour. We are a travel group with almost 40 people from Germany and we log with Downunder 2024 to save space. We visited this cache Ozymandias today and it is in the logbook. The tour group includes: gc, AndyausDu, AmoebeST, B@cker-1, Biggidag, Brummelbren, CacheTaucher, cooljo, Fotopinguin, Freizeit-Tina, Gazelle5111, GEO Karen, GoanToni, HFo, hupsi-1, karrai *, Leilah03, lenny love, Lupus54, Maxipimpf, muschel3, Ollilein, Opaundenkel, penalty96, Rheins, Simowl, sozioma, Sr. Elli, Team Zyanor, viko76, Webmasterrollerin, Whlhase, XenSuo Thank you very much
Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun. After leaving Doha yesterday, we visited Sydney today.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.
Together with 37 Cachers, we start a journey to Australia and New Zealand via Doha.In Qatar we spent one night and had almost one full day before heading to Sydney. In Australia we visit the citys of Sydney, Melbourne, Aidelaide and Cairns. In New Zealand will be Aukland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. To safe Logbook space, we signed the logbooks with our team-name "DownUnder24".Our Teammembers are:\_gc_, AmoebeST, AndyausDu, B@cker-1, Biggidag, Brummelbren, CacheTaucher, cooljo, Fotopinguin, Freizeit-Tina, Gazelle5111, GEO Karen, GoanToni, Hfi1, hupsi-1, karrai*, Leilah03, lenny love, Lupus54, Maxipimpf, muschel3, Ollilein, Opaundenkel, penalty96, Rheins, Simowl, sozioma, Sr. Elli, Team Zyanor, viko76, Webmasterrollerin, Whlhase, XenSuoThank you for the Cache.
We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences.During our stay in Sydney we had also the opportunity to visit some caches. This cache was also among our finds today. Thanks for leading us here and showing and thanks for the cache.
Today we walked through Sydney. Even the rain ?? couldn't stop us. This virtual one "Ozymandias" lured us to a place with a historical background. First we looked for the answer and then took a suitable photo. Answer were sent to CO. Thanks fimbulisen for showing that detail??
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, we visite on foot a part of Sydney, we walk the streets guided by the caches. Sydney IS very Big.Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
Our joint tour on foot through Sydney also led *Filser1* and me to this virtual one. I replied to the CO on behalf of both of us.T4TVirtual
TEMBO! and I visited the Sydney harbour. We also visited the cache "Ozymandias", collected the requested information and informed the owner. Thanks to fimbulisen for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
Really like the classic nature of this cache description. Reminds me of part of the Stephen King book The Stand. 'And so fell Lord Perth, and the countryside did shake with thunder.' Have sent the required answer, will add picture later. An early start of 0600 today and a big 8kms walked before 0745 and breakfast back at the hotel on Kent St. The temperature and lack of muggles are both conducive for a bit of caching and that was appealing.Todays geocaching exploits were once again two-fold. First up was my early morning 4A out and about from 0600 until Ive found a couple and walked 5 or 6 kms. Then after mrs c and I head out for the day we headed a variety of places, including The Rocks, The Harbour Bridge and then later out to Taronga Zoo on the ferry, but solely for caching purposes! Thanks to all COs for their hides to enable my finds.
Jimmy and Goldy are staying in Sydney for a few days. We are grabbing some caches but mostly just sightseeing. The only one I wasn't leaving without was Lane Cove (GC3E) as it is Australia's oldest cache.I love virtual caches and so my second priority was finding as many virtuals as I can during our stay.Today was the first full day of our trip.We had a late night last night as our flight was stuck on the tarmac in Adelaide. We sat there for 1 hour and 45 minutes due to technical issues onboard. We ended up getting to our accommodation at 12:30AM, so we had a chill day today as we are very tired! We explored all the main attractions, did some shopping and found some caches.Jimmy and I are doing a walk of the Sydney Harbour, which we started from here. We are aiming to end up outside the Opera House. This is cool spot I wouldn't have known about. Thanks for bringing us here. The answers have been sent and the photo attached. Thanks fimbulisen for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3935 on the 2nd of February 2024.
Doing a little bit of night walking on my way back to the hotel. I never pass up a virtual or an earth cash if Im anywhere near them. Thanks for creating this and bringing me here.
