Was hoping for a NFF on this one tonight, but sadly we came up short - only then did we glance at the logs and realise it may have walked over the holidays. Rats. Ah well. Another time
To celebrate the wonderful Countrykittykats birthday, we set ourselves the mad challenge of visiting 30 counties in a day. Not at all sure that it was possible, I planned and prepped and we set out hoping for the best. Only hunting for D1.5 T1.5 caches to accomodate Countrykittykats injured ankle. Low are behold after an epic day of caching, where we saw beach and city, suburbs, bush and farms. We made it! Our 30 counties found and one extra for good measure Just for an extra perk. A wonderful day out together and an adventure we won’t forget quickly! Thanks everyone for making this wonderful day possible by keeping your caches alive. TFTC

Out in the area this morning grabbing some caches. Trying the power trail today.
I think it has been wipper snippered away.

Setting out today, Ms Atalanta and I went to the western area known as Pemulwuy.
This was our second did not find for today although we believe we had found the hiding spot.

I was really spotty in my attempt to complete the power trail on foot, but admittedly I was only really trying to scratch an it. Nevertheless, cache was found, and the standard cache duties were completed. Thanks for the cache!
wraacie I found your cache Pemulwuy Power Trail #7 on 15/7/18, 12:22 pm. This is my find 2023 and find # 7 today. Not many hiding places, eventually found the little bugger. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
Returning to Pemulwuy to turn some frowns upside down. When we visited the Power Trail in February there were a few muggled caches. It's a cool, clear Saturday - perfect for geocaching. We counted nine different species of birds here and we weren't even trying that hard. A new one for us was the Straw-necked Ibis! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Deciding I needed to pull my finger out for this year if I wanted to average one find a day coincided nicely with this lovely winter's day and the early days of the Hidden Creatures promotion. So, geoboyfriend and I decided to target some caches around Pemulway today.
Geoboyfriend thinks he's funny. As I photographed the nearby birds (for my newer addiction, Quest-a-Game), I asked geoboyfriend if some of the birds were morehens. He promptly replied with "More hens than ibis". Sigh. Anyway, on approach we were worried about muggles at what we picked was GZ, and sure enough there were 5 people there, but luckily for us it was crzymelly and her crew. We soon had the cache in hand which was spotted from the right angle. Signing duties completed, cache returned, Quest-a-Game sighting submitted - onto the next!

One of our finds on a day of caching with geofriends for the hidden creatures challenge
A nice quick find and a friendly check-in by the CO making sure that we had found something

Gave it ago despite 2 dnf. Had to wait for muggles to drive away. Quick find after that. Cache nr 8 today. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. I had decided it would be nice to go for a walk and find a cache before I headed back to Canberra, so we decided to go for this one. We parked close by and quickly had CIH. Nice to change the DNF into a smiley. We then went for a short stroll, watching the birds and other wild life. TFTC.
Out with Trodectus for a find before he headed back to Canberra. Parked nearby and as this was a previous DNF, decided to have a go today. CIH very quickly, log signed and returned. TFTC
Planned on parking at Woolies but at 500m from no.7 GZ, I pulled over and picked up a turtle crossing the busy road. Placed him in the foot tray of my vehicle, drove him down to the pond.
Wasn’t until I opened up the nav to closest hide that I sat 10m from and tricky hide but CIH was made, thanks wraccie

Wanting to cache but not wanting any more numbers before my 2000th find at the mega next week I have done a very overdue maintenance run on all my caches.
This one has been replaced and ready to be found.
This one has been replaced and ready to be found.
Out and about on a Sat morn with karennicole and thereimer. We were pretty successful on the trail plus a couple of extra ones, but had to add a few DNF's.
Parked the car at Woolies and returned just before the 3 hour parking limit was up, including tackling 17 caches, bumping into fellow cachers and walking close to 6km.
There were a couple of perfect cache hidey holes at this one, but we couldn't locate it.
Thanks for the series wraacie

Saturday morning caching with blundobusters and karennicole but no success on this one. Maybe time for a cache check?
Family caching day with Blundo Busters and thereimer on a Saturday morning. We had a really good look but just couldn't find this one. Thanks wraacie.
Coybear2000 and I were in the area and we decided we'd try for this one. We arrived at GZ and started searching. We looked and felt in all the obvious spots, then a car pulled up close by, so we decided to move on.
After find nearby, we decided to have a go at this one despite previous DNFs. Arrived GZ and started searching, having no luck when muggle parked close by, so we decided to move on.
In Pemulwuy in a hot Saturday for geocaching and the PPT. No luck for us here today despite a good look in, under and around GZ. Enjoyed walking through the neighbourhood. Cheers... Gaztek
A beautiful day
We've taken a nice walk in this beautiful park in Pemulwuy today and have also found this cache
Thank you for the nice round

It’s not often you wish for a mint tin but at least with that form of container extracting and replacing a log is straightforward. The nanos have been a nightmare today, this one being the worst. Still, I suppose it’s the most appropriate container for the hide. Lovely vista from GZ.
Thanks wraacie.
Thanks wraacie.
the walk around continues and another find after watching the bird life on the lake for a while. tftc
Nice easy find with Jackscruff looking on. We both did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

Having found PPT #6 and met dkmacca there we both headed down towards this one, he drove while I walked. I arrived first which proves walking is a good way to get around, and enjoy the lake views at the same time.
I started to search but dkmacca spotted the prize first. We both signed the log then had a chat about nearby caches and all the birds on the lake. There were eight different species that I spotted in the short time we were here, and a couple of eels too!

Located at 8:59pm. Found it quicker than I thought I would. Glad to be ticking these all off my list Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
A last ditch night search effort to find a cache today. A park & grab, and when I found it almost thought the log was missing until I had a closer look at the container.

The 8th of 14 finds today along the power trail. We had a great time here with our bikes. Geodad spotted this one as he approached GZ! Neat little hide! TFTC!

Got out this morning to pick up some caches before heading off to attend a family function for the rest of the day. We wanted to finish off the caches in this series and had no problem with this one. Once located the log was signed, but to do so all was taken back to the geo vehicle to get an extraction tool to make that job easier. The replacement job was much easier and quicker. Thanks go to Wraacie for this series.

Decided to give my numbers a bit of a boost to see if I can reach 2000 by the end of the year. Brought the bike with me on this boiling hot day and parked near #2. I had a bit of a hiccup to start the series, missing #1, DNFing #2 and #3 and being muggled out at #4.
After success at #5 and #6 I thought I was on a roll but on approach to GZ, I felt that my luck might abandon me again. However, after a bit of a systematic search, I was able to add my name to the log.

#1443 have seen the cache a few times as I've driven passed. This was the first time I have stopped to look for it. Parked near it in front of 2 cars one was full so walked towards 6 looking at the 2 black swans which came over to the bank near where I was standing, kept checking what the kids were doing in the car. 1 got out and crossed to one of the terraces nearby. But the car stayed another 10 minutes before it moved off. Walked back to the cache for a quick find & signed no 3 on the new log. Replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache wraacie

Tracked over from the eastern burbs to tackle the Pemulwuy Power Trail and the three others suggested by the CO. Probably could have chosen a cooler day but for the most part I was the only one on the trail. I started at the first cache and then followed the numbers. Just love it when I find a new log. Quick find once at the right angle. Lovely lake with an abundance of bird life. Nice row of terraces opposite the lake. Saw two pelicans and a black swan which hopefully has a mate somewhere. Also nice to see Ibis in their right environment. TFTC.
Bin chicken about squakin an hollering. Log book absolutely full. I managed to squeeze my name on last spot. Even saw a black swan. Tftc.

Another episode of "Good Times with Pete & Ris" was recorded here on Periscope.
Pete was in full search by the time I got to GZ and just as he was about to feel for it I had spotted it and encouraged him to reach a little further. SL #3365 on streak day #1965 TFTC

Really enjoyed this cache, all the water birds and the view were really nice today.
Thank you for bringing me here.
The view also made a fantastic backdrop for our return of Good Times with Pete & Ris on Periscope.

Decided to come and do this little power trail and some associated caches as a bit of a numbers run today, as I have been a little quiet on the caching front lately and need a few finds if I want to manage my desired average of at least one a day over the calendar year.
Now where could this be? After trying the obvious a check of past logs showed I was looking too high and it wasn't going to be in one of those. Then I had it soon enough. Thanks wraacie.

OCW Rodney1210. Given the hint, we started working on GZ methodically ruling out each option until Rodney made the discovery. Absolutely gorgeous here. TFTC!

Heading home from a work meeting I decided to detour via this mini series of caches. Parking near No:1 the following 2 hours were an enjoyable walk around the streets where I grabbed a plethora of caches.
Thanks for the series.

As I’m working around this area today I thought I might just grab a couple of these in this trail. Pretty spot. TFTC

My wife was working late so before meeting her for dinner I had time to complete the remainder of the series here. I worked backwards from 9 to 1.
There were too ladies out the front of the home right across the road. But, they were busy with an important phone call. however, to make a quick find a used a Phone-a-Friend despite the coordinates being spot on.

Streak Day #1564 - Back out this way with dave8153 as we needed a quick find as it started to rain. Took a few seconds to make the find, took longer to place back the cache due to muggle cars. TFTC
