On our way from Rotorua to the geothermal wonderland we stayed over night at Lake Okaro. In the morning I had a nice hike around the lake. TFTC
No, tak to m do vody nikdo nedostane. Bahno stkalo a do pl metru. Pak jsem to vzala siln vedlej silnic kolem trailu s kekami a njak si odlovila. Kolem opt zvlnn kopekov zelen krajina, ovce a krvy. In the morning I went to the river for an earth cache and then set off in the direction of Rotorua. Along the way, I made stops at attractions and also at caches. It was beautiful, up to 25C in the afternoon. The path is scenic and leads past lakes and various geothermal features. I visited hot streams and a mud lake and in the evening I arrived at Lake Rotorua, where I will stay for 2 nights. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Hit my head but found the cache! Beautiful OKaro lake. Tester Here for a while.TFTC
This was our quickest find of the four caches surrounding the lake. Retrieval, however, was the toughest for a cacher of my height and age. T4tC squirrel nutcase,Civvnr&MissTreadlightly....(UK) Geocaching.com finds so far 11384
Found it not once, but twice! Looked a little deeper closer to the GZ and found the original, the new one in a much nicer access way. Tftc, found with kre8ive.
We had a quick look under but failed to spot the little blighter. It may still be there, but it seems to have wandered from its original position. Replaced with a mint tin
Spent some time checking various options around GZ but no luck. Not sure what the hint means either...
The blackberry thorns found both of us before we found the cache. It was nice to discover new caches in an area we had been in many years ago so TFTC
We're down in Rotorua for a few day with family and doing a spot of geocaching. Today we followed the trail down this road on the way to Waikite Valley, then walked around the lake. Great little hiding spot for this one, TFTC
Never even knew this lake was here, so nice to get this cool little cache ticked off. TFTC
#10,998. I am staying with my sister and her family in Rotorua for a couple of nights and today my mission was to drive down to Whirinaki to do the PWGT2 cache. The lake is looking a lot better today than it was 20-30 years ago when it used to be very eutrophic. The platform did seem a bit of an overkill for this site. The wetland view was not spectacular enough in my opinion to justify this structure. Anyway I checked out the area close to the hint and was pleased to find the craftily located nook where the cache was safely tucked away. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache where found. Thanks squirrel nutcase for hiding it here.
Enjoyed a walk around the lake with the geohound before breakfast, after having camped here for the night. Located all four caches, ending with this one. This was only 50m or so from our overnight spot but people had been staying in tents just metres from it! Fortunately they cleared off in the morning and I was able to search for the cache. Took a moment or two to spot it. Probably would have looked somewhat dubious crawling around under there if I had been noticed by nearby campers. As far as I’m aware, I wasn’t! #4425. TFTC.
Initially approached from the wrong side, nearly getting wet feet. Once the support was found a quick investigation of stability lead to the cache. Merry Christmas TFTC
A nice quick find thanks. There were no camper vans today so took the opportunity of make the find. Cheers
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. Well the rain was raining till we were almost to Rotorua and then it stopped. We headed from Tauranga to Taupo today.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A bit tricky, but only cos we thought the T rating meant it was up top. No trouble once in the right spot. TFTC!!!
Good walk around lake Okaro looking for caches. Woohooo found the last one.
Just as well I am short.
Just as well I am short.
After parking in the nearby carpark we made our way to the viewing platform. We spied the flax and our hearts sank. Thankfully the tiny cache was not hidden in the flax. The shorter one of us made a quick find here of a container we have not seen before.
Nice find benefits to being short, no good for the 6ft plus brother and 13 year old was over it by this stage was getting "hangry" so had to go in myself ty
Stayed the night in Rotorua on our way up to Auckland to see the kids. Had lots of spare time to cache. Parked up near the main road and got the bike out. Good to stretch the legs and collect some smileys at the same time. Great hide, took a few minutes but got there in the end. Thanks
#1024 - Tripping around the Rotorua area today. Didn't even know this lake was here, so we were surprised to find this walking track. Started here with this cache it was a nice hide and in great condition.
Caching with Kat259 and almost gave up on this one but I decided to have a look down and managed to spot it as Kat passed it. Got the 14 year old to put it back. Now time for lunch with some hungry kids
A nice spot to stopover in our motorhome while on our North Island adventure. Great to get out and walk around this beaut little lake. TFTC

After a quick jog around the rainbow mountain track finding the 3 caches there, it was time to knock the ones off around this lake.
Loads of people making use of the great weather on this long Waitangi weekend with boaties and campers galore.
Luckily no one around the cache hide location so it was luckily a quick find, that could have had the potential of a long search!!

We spent a delightful day exploring around this lovely rural area, before heading home to Tauranga in the late afternoon. Labour week end holiday, but there were not too many people around. Thank goodness you said NO to flax - we did too! This was a satisfying find and the cache is in good condition. TFTC
Over from Tauranga for a couple of nights with grand daughter as it’s the school holidays. Cheers. All good here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Cache checked and ok - Sitting on its ledge as it was when placed. Not sure what the previous visitor’s objection was referring to...
Well I said "no" to the flax
So there was only one place it could be, and I must say this is one of the smallest containers I have found in awhile.
Happy to have found this little one, all safe and dry in its hiding place.
Thanks for the hide squirrel nutcase, time to walk around the lake

Found on the Te Ara Ahi cycle route today. A bit of a search around, be careful for the rogue toilet paper around!
Tftc!

Out and about grabbing a few caches while passing through. Great spot to camp but only stayed for a lunch break today. No problem locating this well hidden cache TFTC.
We gave gad a quick trip to Palmy to pick up junior cacher Noidnz for the school holidays. Bit of time to spare before the COs event. How appropriate to find his cache today! Thank goodness the flax was not used! Thanks for the cache Squirrel Nutcase

Cool frosty morn out to walk The lake..all quiet here..the cache was soon found in good condition ..thanks squirrel
In Rotorua for a ten pin bowling tournament, time to find some caches down this road. Thanks squirrel nutcase for the cache.
sneaky little cache container nearly did not spot it even though in the correct location. TFTC Now we can get off for our walk around the lake. Sunny but cold out today. quiet here today.
After an overnight visit to Rotorua with treasure hunting Tim and our 2 girls, we were returning to Hawkes Bay anddecided to put on our jackets and go for a stroll around the lake. A bonus to discover that 5 caches are hidden here! This was our first find, all in good order here. The decking was very slippery in the rain! Tftc
On our way down from Rotorua to Taupo we decided to take a short detour via Waimangu Road. This road is more suitable for pulling over the car when geocaching. Found all the caches including the ones arround the lake, expect for one DNF (or did not attempt actually). Thanks to all owners for hiding and maintaining them. However, some do have a "need maintainance" log.
Out to cache the Te Ara Ahi trail today on our e-bikes. This was our starting point and our lunch stop. Nice lake. Pity that there is no swimming due to algae.
Cute we container. Never seen one like this before.

On our 32nd day in New Zealand we stayed in Rotorua. Main aim today was to visit some of these very interesting geothermal sites. Again we were also looking for some caches but a main aim was to do some earth caches. We spent a wonderful day, weather was great and even though there were everywhere a lot of people we could see all we wanted.
On our way back we stopped here and took the lovely walk around this nice lake. There were a lot of camping muggles but on the tour around the lake we were all alone. Lovely walk with lovely views and best of it, we could find all the boxes well. With one we had to search a little longer but all fine.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland
