While on a road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide, today we decided to do some of this series. Starting early in the morning we attempted #1-#156 before returning to Meningie and continuing the series in the afternoon with CatCasper. Logs were signed AP for AddisonPascal and also CC for CatCasper for the later caches. In this stretch we found 138 and DNFed 17. Mostly these caches were in pretty bad condition, with many damaged containers and hides not matching hints. The whole series could do with a maintenance check. However, it was fun, and thank you to Fishy Tales for setting up this series!

Apologies for the late (and generic for the series) log, we have just come back from a 10 day holiday to South Australia, spending every minute we could with family Today (Thur 26/9) we checked out of the accomodation and found some local caches before heading down the road to Yumali and then across to Adelaide for our family catch ups over the next few days Smile After finding a few more caches around the town we decided we better set off on this trail as planned as we wanted to get to Adelaide by mid arvo. This was next in the series and a nice easy find.TFTC Fishy Tales - GJMMelb

Today's target was this 277 power trail, with Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic, ThePacman, Papi4506 and for the last part Team Crackers. Logs signed Vic1. We took off early but already the heat was there and the day got hotter still. Luckily some early cloud cover helped us keep up our brisk pace and we finished early afternoon. Most caches were easily found, we replaced 2 we didn't find and at least 6 others where the cache container was cracked. Glad McLookers and Muzza brought lots of supplies. This is the most I've ever found in one day, and I'm feeling it. Will be glad when we get to Adelaide and I can have a rest and a shower. A great power trail, thanks for all the hard work in placing and maintaining these.

There is a rather large contingent of Victorians heading to the Mega in Adelaide tomorrow so some of us decided to meet at Meningie and attack this trail. ConnieandRick, McLookers, ThePacman, Micaparamedic, Muzza, GeoTurtle37 and myself started off nice and early and were later joined by Team Crackers who had already completed a lot of those we found earlier. We didn't have too much trouble with any finds and although it was rather warm, we all had a great day out.Thank you for the time and effort that has gone into setting up and now maintaining this trail for all to enjoy.

After an interesting night at The Bend Motorsports Complex the aim today was to knock over the ROTF series before heading in to Adelaide. This Geocaching Adventure was undertaken in the company of Muzza, McLookers, ThePacman, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37, ConnieandRick and Team Crackers joined us for the last 65 or so. I put the word out to weredunn4 that if the weather this weekend wasnt any good for kayaking, would he be interested in heading down Tailem Bend way to target the ROTF or Wandering Heroes power trails.Unbeknown to me there are some high terrain caches he didnt have that are close to the ROTF series, so I got a resounding hell yeah lets do this So here we are creating another very long line of yellow smiley faces and boosting the daily average Quickly found here today and log stampedTFTC

I somehow managed to be lucky enough to win a great state voucher for $50 off accommodation. The idea being to put some money back into regional communities after the pandemic. Uni and Medusa and I went away for a caching trip around Kingston using the voucher to stay at the caravan Park. We spent lots of money on diesel and food so the voucher did it's trick.
We stopped and found this cache on the way.

Travelling with Wollaston, Seasoned Bird and Honeysucker to complete this series. Good to be doing a trail again reminded us of our time in the USA doing trails. We were armed with new containers and many were needed as several of the original containers had become brittle and cracked while trying to open. The different hiding spots had us challenged a few times and the pile of rocks were definitely our favourite quick find and back to the car and onto next. Our thanks to Fishy Tales for placing this cache series and enhancing our enjoyment of the area..

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA. With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
Our team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers, feathertop and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book. All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
After completing all the trails, we had set out to do and a couple more for good measure it was time for this mob to go its separate ways.

After deciding to bail from doing the wandering heroes we looked on the map and noticed the ROTF trail. So headed out early with Rapidlywild to see what they were like. Weather was lovely and overcast and besides gaining a passenger being a rather large huntsman at one of the caches the trail went pretty smoothly.

Thanks for the all the hides and trail Fishy Tales and for the fun Rapidlywild

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.

We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.

Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.

With the Turtle done, the PS Series done, the On Ya Bike done, the TdU & TdF done as well as the Riddlers done, our targeted caches has been accomplished. With the teams now split and it was back to FurfacesLL and myself, we had heaps to choose from. Yesterday we did some Wandering Heroes caches which were time consuming. Today we chose to head further south and do the ROTF series instead.

Thanks for the hides Fishy Tales Big Grin And thanks FurfacesLL for a trip to remember [^].

Thanks for the cache Fishy Tales. Today I teamed up with family and we earmarked Meningie, then to begin this trail by Fishy Tales. We had completed all but 1 in town and started heading east to Yumali. Our driver was skilled, and two of us typically fell out of the car to grab the cache (well most of the time). It was a warm day so stopped at #50. This cache was in good condition.

We were in the area for the day and decided after a lovely lunch stop by the lake, to try our hand at this series of caches. Set out around 1pm and travelled out along the road, finding the caches systematically until approx. 3pm. It was a great afternoon with light lake breeze, and we had a lot of fun. Enjoyed the different placements of the caches which kept us on our toes finding them and the view of the countryside were often spectacular given the time of year. Found the first 50 cache placements before quitting for the day. Thank you for the placements.

Today fitzy _1965, 2 geokids and I decided to finish the rest of this trail.

We had a few DNFs and one we couldn’t attempt because a farmer was at GZ at the time.

The day was long but fun was had. We had some trouble with the hints not necessarily matching the hide so an open mind is suggested for the cachers following us.

Thanks Fishy Tails for all the cache placements.

22,829. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.

This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 11 of our adventures took us back to the ROTF series. We did #277 to #230 yesterday, and our aim for the day - a big day - is to finish the series starting at #001. This we managed with 230 finds - Phew ! All caches were found quickly and in good order unless otherwise stated. Next find of the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then headed off to the next one.

Thanks Fishy Tales !! I'm reading these as I'm logging and finding all the information very interesting !

While staying in Meningie Caravan Park for a week we decided to attempt this huge power trail over a few days. Today we exceeded our previous biggest day and found 132 caches and DNF’d 2.

We had to return to number 6 and 7 on our way back to the van because this morning there was a group of young lads who had obviously camped for the night part way up a slope near the road and we would have been muggled. (Camp chairs and sleeping bags gave them away) We also had to leave a big gap in the numbers much further along when we came upon a grader working on the already very good dirt road so we’ll hopefully try for those when we make our next attempt on the series.

Most caches were in good condition and were easy to find however some are starting to show definite signs of too much sun exposure. I will make a separate note on the caches where we replaced the shattered containers with what we had available...only about 3 from memory.

Many thanks Fishy Tales for allowing us to get quite a few more smileys

On a day out with mogni and allister w. Today's target's where to get a multi cache on this calendar day for me, a puzzle cache on this calendar day for mogni and complete all of the ROTF series. All of the target's where met today. As a bonus we did the new released sherlock series at the end of the ROTF series. I am not sure what the weather was doing today. The forecast was for 28 and sunny but mogni's car was telling us it peaked at 38 degrees outside the car, with a hot breeze off the farm land.
The ROTF series condition was poor. I replaced the damaged containers as i went along the trail ( 1/2 a plastic bag full of broken containers ). Some had been biten by animals, others perished to UV rays and one had a new log but no cache container, just a plastic bag. If the log was soaked it was replaced as some people didn't put the lids back on properly and some of the replacement caches where smaller then the orginals and some of those logs where commonly found full and replaced.

12-Jan-20
Sir Spectre, mogni and I joined to complete the ROTF series from start to finish in one day. We started at 001 and went to 277. Sir Spectre had a big bucket of containers to replace(with permission of CO) the containers that were broken and by the end of the trail the bucket was empty. Several logs were damaged and replaced with logs mogni had made. I found the hint on a lot of the caches was incorrect. The weather was warm and by the end of the trail I had enough of pulling grass seeds out of my socks. The road was quiet and I think I only saw about half a dozen other vehicles along the trail. After we had completed this series we found a few new caches in Sherlock which was good a good finish to the day. Thanks Fishy Tales for the caches

Well, the Mega was over, my geobuddies headed back home and now I was off to SA to continue my geotrip solo Cool

Moving right along on my georoad trip and next stop...Meningie! Now..off to grab the ROTF series! Had a massive day in the very warm weather tackling 1 - 200 before calling it a day. Most were easy finds, with some proving a challenge and a number of DNFs due to missing caches. All good though! Found stacks of caches so very happy with that!

Thanks for the hide and for the series, Fishy Tales Cool

Doing another section of the ROFT was the focus of the day. Ilook4geo came along too and the hunt was on. We found most of what we were looking for, but there were some more difficult ones to find due to the lush spring growth of grasses and weeds. Each log found had two more lots of initials added and each was replaced as it had been found. Many thanks go to Fishy Tales for this chance to add more numbers to the tally. Any problems will be noted at the start of each log.

We were surprised to see a power trail in Meningie. Were we ahead of schedule so could fit some of this trail in.

This was a great power trail. Nice and quiet road which made it safe to stop.

Most of the caches were in excellent condition. The sad thing is that most of the ones that were wet was the result of the previous cacher/s NJ it closing the lid tightly or cross threading it.

Thanks for the hide and the series Fishy Tales. We enjoyed our afternoon.

We are visiting from South Africa. . Landed in Sydney and are driving along the coast to Adelaide.

Loved Sal's log so much I have decided to plagiarize it....with a few changes.

Feathertop and I came over to Meningie to do a maintenance run on the ROTF Pope Series with the CO's blessing. Thanks Freddo for the containers. As Sal said, with the Catholic Church back in the news this week it seemed appropriate to be out here.

On this run we replaced many ailing Popes, resurrected 2 at the end which had been archived once before and restored one teetering Pope that was on disabled death row (nicely said Sal!) so there are 277 live Popes to be found again - YAY!!

Many logbooks were also replaced as time, animals and sunlight have done their worst, we met road workers at cache #150 and they knew about the caches as they were grading and tree lopping and had seen many. In this stretch a few caches were repositioned slightly but otherwise all good.

The weather really was amazing today and friendly locals (including 2 lovely farmers) made this a pleasure to do especially on a wide road with spots to pull over.

Caching is such a wonderful way to get outside and de-stress.

Thanks to Fishy Tales! [^]

Hi there Fishy Tales. Today was a driving day from Adelaide to Meningie. We stopped in Tailem Bend and managed to find 3 quality caches including a chance meeting with their CO. The caching day ended with 20 or so ROTF caches (no time for more) and a few around Meningie. All together - a very enjoyable day with some great quality caches found. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to Fishy Tales for this cache - our find # 6339.

Hi there Fishy Tales.

We found your cache **"ROTF 007"** today. (This makes our find count 21290).

Today we headed out from Meningie so we could attempt the "ROTF" series, plus any others we came across on our travels. We started at 01 & from there we proceeded to log caches up to 50 before heading back to camp. We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, but please excuse our boilerplate logs - we know it's not really a good excuse, but we find it difficult to craft individual logs when we attempt so many similar caches in a day. [:(!]

We found 51 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The containers and log books were mostly in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Woolworths Tile.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny

Day 2 of our trip to Narrong to stay at a camp site I was enamoured with.
Today we finished off the ROTF series, finding 1 to 89 and then heading back to St Arnaud.
Again it was a pretty smooth run and we smashed out the 89 with a find rate of 1 cache every 1.85 minutes! Nerdy to work this out.
We were done on target so could muck around on the way home.
It turns out that Pokemon Go can add 6 hours to a journey!!
It was a great trip. Tftc

Finally after some time we were back to finish off the Popes Series.
plan was, one day, to cache from #179 and get to #90, then head into Meningie to grab the few caches in and around the town, get supplies for camping and head around to the Narrung Jetty Reserve and set up swag for the night.
Day two, back to finish off the Popes from #1 to #89 then head on home back over the boarder.
we were thank full all them months back we stopped the Popes series as this time around we seemed to have a lot more fun on the two days out n about with the series.

I had planned a big few days of caching in SA so I left work on a Tuesday evening and hit the road from Melbourne. This was my first full day of caching and it was centred around this power trail. Please excuse the generic log as by and large the containers were easy to find and in good condition. In a few cases I have made a note specific to that cache. Having started with the high numbers in the series I was on the last leg here and looking forward to getting a break and grabbing some food at Meningie. Most logs just signed as 91AT for brevity. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Fishy Tales. A big day of solo caching for me with a final total of 309 finds.

A great day out with Featherwaite, we completed the whole ROTF series with a few extra caches along the way, this was his biggest day.
Overall most of the finds weren’t to hard but some were a little difficult.
We signed the logbooks all as gf1411
We only had one issue with a property which was at 46/47 as a dog chased us along side the fence but we returned a bit later to sign the log books.

Found during an awesome caching day along the ROTF trail with gridge98, with a total of 280 caches for the day (a personal best) in exactly 7 hours (an average of one find in every 1 minute, 30 seconds). Most caches were found relatively easily and in good condition, signing the logs as "gf14/11". Thanks for the cache and series Fishy Tales!

Out with woolwood9 and we enjoyed getting some more finds in the area.
Thanks for putting this cache out and showing us around! SL

We enjoyed the ROTF trail today. Some tough finds and we had 3 DNF's but found all the rest of the series, lots of long grass and annoying grass seeds in places but we had a fun time collecting the caches.

Found as a beta tester.

Found as part of H.A.M alliance in the past year after release. Lots of little trips while on route to other things gave us opportunities to pay our respect to the series of the father. As a person who has always been a challenged fisherman, there has always been a lot of faith needed when I cast a line into the waters.

Thanks to Fishy Tales and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [:o)]

Whilst heading back to Adelaide after a great few days caching around Mt Gambier I took the opportunity to locate a few in this series.
A quick find with good co ords and hint.
