Departed Melbourne several weeks ago now and have been travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and we have loved every minute of it now we are on our way home again and having many more adventures as we slowly travel south.
Spending a few extra days in Townsville now due to a cracked chassis and tow bar mount, it's been fixed now and we're running around checking it over the weekend before hopefully heading south on Monday.
Today we went for a drive up to the Crystal Creek area checking out the falls and swimming holes.
Quick find as we passed by.
**Thanks for placing this cache GeocachingTownsville**

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories.Today was another bigger driving day. Mackay to Cardwell was our plan today. So we only made a few stops along the way for a little break, and some ice cream shopping cause we wanted to arrive before dusk. So unfortenually so swimming time for us today. Thanks for the Cache.
Found this on the way down the hill, heading back to our van. Cache is really clean a tide. It was great to do a traditional for a change .We are not a lover off, never-ending puzzles.. tftc Great spot to check the view out ..
With the kids at Nanna’s and all the jobs done yesterday the Mrs and I headed this way for a cache and an ice cream cone.
This one was missing so I’ve replaced it.
Happy hunting.

Heaps of paper wasps around, watch out where you reach into. But no cache that we could see.

This cache is definitely still here. It was an evil little hide but I found it in the end . Thanks for placing this cache here for us all to enjoy.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 86. Townsville to Tully. With rain threatening, I packed up the van and headed to the bypass road bike trail to get my scooter out. I managed all but one. I could not quite get up the second bit of the tree. A great way to stat the morning after the dismal start yesterday. On the drive North I stopped one or two times, but mostly had a smooth drive with a mango smoothie along the way.
Another short detour and a very remote bus stop on the way to somewhere. No problems with the cache.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingTownsville

Found after a bit of a search, starting at one level and then moving to search the other level. I would rate this a 2T. Cache and log are good. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
We found the cache easily. We have lived in Townsville for fifteen years and have not visited this really beautiful area. I'm sure we will be back.
Found on our drive around Paluma. We are staying nearby in Crystal Creek, and here for a few days to explore.

We saw the wasps and disturbed the nest despite previous logs warning us of the danger. I didn’t intend to upset them, quite obviously they don’t like it if you rattle the seat by placing your GPS on it. After much hunting we finally found the geocache, without getting stung. thanks
I made it to Townsville. 18 days on my bicycle cycling over 1850km from Toowoomba.
After catching up with friends and finding a few caches I am now heading North to Cairns.
After a thorough search I checked the logs, seems this one has been missing for awhile.
I have replaced the cache, new log and container.
Thanks for the adventures and cache.

DNF as The Joker was stung on face when he disturbed a wasp nest. Bee careful
Had a good look around even a lay down but nearly put my hand on an active wasp nest. But could not find anything or even remains of a cache. Will be back another time for another look.
A great little spot to appreciate being in the middle of a beautiful mountain range and coast.

Nice stop on the way through. First one for this trip. Pro tip: things go a lot smoother if you grab a Frosty Mango ice cream nearby on the Bruce.
Found on the way to Townsville and found a green tree frog. Thought it was the cache. Oops. Tftc SL
Very easy. Thank you. I involved some me mates. So hope they get bitten with caching. Cheers.
Day 17 of our road trip from the Gold Coast with hatzofff, grannysmith1947 and RoddyC.
Today we had a change of scenery from the creeks to the beach on our drive further up the highway to nab a couple more caches and it was a nice spot at GZ to sit and sign the log.
Ventured up the creek to have a look on recommendations and we were not disappointed.

Inevitably on a long trip when many geocaches are being found, some get missed. Unfortunately, at the time, this was one of them. So, although out of chronological order, I am logging them today for simplicity. So my apologies for the generic log and the out of date sequence.
Our trip commenced on Friday November 28th and concluded on Tuesday December 22nd. During that time, we visited caches in Maryborough, Childers, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Sarina, Mackay, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns, with other places in between like Proserpine, Home Hill, Ayr, Ingham to name just a few, with many wonderful single stop caches along the way.
Our party consisted of myself, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, and on occasion, youngoldfella.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC, GeocachingTownsville.
