#7542 Its our last day in Adelaide, were heading south in pursuit of more solved puzzles and exotic DTsI loved solving these binary puzzles - I did need a good nudge from the CO to get started, then decided to code a decoder in C. This was helpful, as the rest were solved in seconds with a few tweaks.... I'll probably 'borrow' this idea for some puzzles near home I think. Thanks for the cache!
#7542Day 4 of our Adelaide trip for the Great Leap Forward mega. After a day in the hills yesterday and the day before, were staying in the suburbs for some other cool DTs and other caches that we want for various reasons, along with a bit of driving for some DT grid holes in our 5th and 6th loop end copy paste Some very fun solves on all these binary puzzles, and a quick find at GZ today. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Freddo
Adelaide Leap Day trip. Day 4. I had a full day to myself, so after a short morning walk, I headed down to the Marion area to try for some caches between Flinders and the coast. I targeted a few new traditional caches along with a slew of solved puzzles that have been worked on in preparation for this and future trips to Adelaide. It was not a completely successful trip, but I did get to visit a few interesting locations, along with some bus stops. I made it home in time for late lunch and am looking forward to an early start to get to the event at Norwood tomorrow. This was amongst many puzzles that have been solved before this trip, so I gave it a go today. Four great challenges, and four finds I was able to make at vacant locations along here. Thanks for the cache Freddo45571.6 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2016 Dogs of Caching A#345**Albida**
I've been looking at these for ages, and even got assistance from the CO.. but as we know, there are 10 types of people - those that understand binary, and those that don't.I firmly fall into the second camp, so despite the assistance from the ever-patient CO, I remained defeated and reached out to a previous finder for more specific assistance Found on the way to geo-sons house, for another painting session.TFTC
After breakfast I went out for a cache and this was the closest so here I am.
A quick find in the obvious spot.
Thanks Freddo for the puzzle and cache, which brings Goldys total find count to 2449 on the 1st of February 2023.

Hopped out with Jack and Sebastbat to join with Mr froghoppin for some caching around the city and suburbs. A big day out for us country types. So many cars, so many people, but yay... so many caches!
Ahhhhh binary. The answers are so black and white... delicious!
T1, wheelchair... at a stretch maybe.
Thanks heaps to Freddo for hiding and maintaining this cache on our SA geo game map

Please do stay as safe as possible when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...

Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Heaps of appreciation of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thank you for reading all this addition to the log word count!

Owl and Sushilord were well overdue for a caching run so they braved the humidity and set out for an afternoon of fun, frivolity, exercise and as many mutually-unfound caches as possible. The numbers weren't high but the enjoyment was. And nice to find a puzzle cache that Owl needed a little nudge (and then another one) to solve. The Fish obliged by making an easy find.
Well this would have to be the most DNFs I have encountered in 1 day. So many just not showing themselves, or are missing. Really needing to get a specific number today, I resorted to a trusty Freddo hide to get some smileys on the board.
This one was solved quite some time ago, and sat there looking pretty on the sea of yellow. Needing a find, I drove along this tranquil boulevard and stopped to grab an easy find. Thanks for the great puzzle, although I am sure I didnt feel that way til a final was reached. There are so many things for me to learn. Cache found and in good condition. Thanks Exclusive Disjunction. Find #4998

Out on a quick cache hunt with sir_spectre, he had already found this one so I knew I had back up if needed. Found quickly however.

Thanks for another mystery solved......
Found on route to the " Meet Me at Marion " event. quick find, gz was muggle free at this time of the day.
There are a few caches in the area that I have had solved for awhile. Slowly finding them on days that I haven't found a puzzle. Found on my way home from work. TFTC Freddo
I remember first year university with having to deal with these binary gates. I quite enjoyed the logic that they entailed, and so I thought I had an edge with this puzzle. I needed to try a few methods with one of the stages, but eventually I cracked the code with a set of coordinates, back on 18/02/2020.
This morning, I mountain biked at O'Halloran Hill with a few friends, and decided to head back to home via Brighton and Morphettville to find a few target geocaches.
There were obviously a few of these puzzles in this series nearby, and so I made a park, and searched around that structure for the cache, finding it reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Exclusive Disjunction aka. [@Freddo](http://coord.info/PR8C14) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today I headed to the southern suburbs with FeatherWaite to find a few pre-solved puzzle caches. It was a lovely cool day and nice and fresh after the rain last night and earlier in the morning.
Luck was also on our side when a new Unknown cache was published not too far away while we were in the area. A slight change of plans and a quick detour meant that we were able to get an unexpected FTF.
Clearly binary doesn’t mean exactly two, but more like a minimum of two!
Thanks Freddo for the puzzle and the cache.

Found with e.gregory1 on our way to do a short circuit of the southern suburbs. A short detour down a couple of side streets yielded four caches and we were on our way again. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Freddo!
Quick find in the dark after work!! Trying to pick up a few the geosis has found without me! Thanks for the cache!!
Today after a busy day in the home office doing some puzzling I decided a good walk was in order.
The sun was just setting and it was a lovely 5km round trip to do a bit of binary ptang! finding. Several different hides and one I missed on the first pass but after reading a couple of logs that one was found on the way back.

Muggle partner kindly brought the Corolla up to me last night so that I had it today because of course, after replacing the Corolla's radiator about 2 weeks ago, Harry's radiator has now gone out in sympathy!
Off we headed to Morphett Vale so I could drop muggle partner at his mother's to get his bike and go to do some computer work while I had breakfast[^], laughs and conversations with great people and then cachenapped erine14 for most of the day
We left the breakfast and followed CPwanderer's wandering[^]s and naturally where he went, so did Gizmo's Gang and clare007 Shiny thing here, shiny thing there, here a shiny thing, there a shiny thing, everywhere shiny things
There are TOTTs and there are TOTTs and today clare007 was a very gracious and courageous TOTT for the group[:X] which was much appreciated[:X][:X] My knees struggled with the ladder after doing the Anna Tommy series yesterday[xx(]
Had a lovely lunch at Bradley's Bakery at Christie Downs too[^]
After CPw and the girls left for home, erine14 and I found a few more caches but I was getting tired[|)][|)]
Time to drop erine14 back at her car so I could take Rex to O'Sullivan Beach for an overdue play after a hot day out and about[^]
Rex had an awesome play with about 25 dogs all mingling really well[^]
Even muggle partner came to enjoy sunset at the beach before Rex and I headed back to Elizabeth[|)][|)][|)]
Naturally I had to find just a few more caches on the way home
By day's end I had attended the event, had 3 DNFs and found 18 caches
By now there was just Rex, erine14 and I finding caches and we also made a quick stop to catch up and say hi to muggle partner, who was working in Warradale[|)]
Apparently there's a new way of finding this type of cache hide: I think it's called sunbathing
Conversation was had too about the puzzle style[^], we learn something new everyday[^]

It has been quite a long time since we have cached in Adelaide, we have kept to our Christmas tradition but instead of coming to town early today we arrived on Monday. After spending The morning with our family we headed out this afternoon to find a few caches to help with our addiction.

Once again, Binary functions are my stock in trade but I am not used to them being manipulated by Scheming Amphibians. Needless to say, this and the rest of the series caused me a lot of grief. Knew what was required in a basic form but continued to get nothing sensible. Asked for and was granted a nudge which helped a little. Still doesn't help when you get the wrong starting point. The errors just then compound. I finally recognised where I was going wrong, made the required corrections and started to get some sensible information, which finally turned into coordinates that looked OK. And solution Checker agreed. YAY.
Today I decided at lunchtime to head to the area and make the find. Thankfully the find was not as convoluted as the puzzle. Had to outwait a travelling muggle and on final arrival at GZ put my hand on the cache in the first place I felt. Gotta love that. Stamped the log and replaced it.

Another function, more rain and more 0 and 1s! Sometimes the CO loves to hurt peoples brains, just glad that the finds aren’t so bad!

Another Wednesday wanderings for some members of the Puzzled Puzzlers Group. Today's crew of myself, S.A. Sewer Rats and Doctor Owl headed south in search of solved puzzles and anything else that came up. As time marched on Doctor Owl left the crew as she had another engagement. S.A. Sewer Rats and I continued to cache our way towards the Halloween Event.
There is indeed more than one way to solve a binary puzzle. And after stage one of this puzzle I thought that I had got it wrong. But a rethink and the utterance of the magic words "Damn Freddo" a solution materialized.
Quick find as I sat and pondered life, the universe and everything.

With the weather warming up this afternoon I decided to head out to try and increase my total amount of finds for the year. With some recently solved puzzles still to find and some partially worked on multies yet to finish, I headed out east to start my journey. I quickly moved my way through the finals picking up he odd trad in between before deciding to head south for some more finds. A few more trads were thrown into the mix and a multi final worked out before I finally decided to call it a day and make my way home, leaving plenty of more finds for tomorrow.

Saw these two puzzles published and couldn't find the correct 'kind of binary' so I needed a little help to get started.
Again I have learned something I had no idea about, although I don't think I will need that info too often. [?]
Once I had researched what I needed I was away and after a bit of playing around I had some numbers that looked promising.
Today I was out with Rod81w and Briana the explorer and we stopped off to find the two caches in the only possible places they could be, especially after the BFE hide comments.
Thanks for the puzzles and caches Freddo.

Q: What is today’s most popular cipher?
A: .....
Hint: You certainly don’t see that every day. Although maybe you do?
And for Ben, this one took approximately the same time to solve as the first, but given we were about 8000 km closer to GZ this time, the elapsed time between publication and finding was a fair bit less.
Hopefully I won’t get arrested for stalking.
