Our first visit to Western Australia and this is my first cache find while staying in Freo.Luckily there was almost no-one about so I had plenty of time to search. Initially searched around GZ but checked the picket fence and found in a logical place about 10m from cache coords. This for now, will be my most western cache found. Love the history of this place.Great spot here on a beautiful day.Tftc

7.3 World travelers adventure log.Out and about exploring the world with Nildran on this epic adventure!Thanks for adding to our memories and letting us explore your favorite spots all over the world!It continues to be a wild ride!TFTC SLIf you find yourself at a local pub during trivia night, and the category is:'States shaped like a Mitten'here is some information that may help you win that round:Michigan trivia 7.333. The Detroit metro area sits atop a gigantic salt mine. According to some estimates, there's enough salt down there to last for 70 million years at the world's current rate of consumption. Pass the potato chips! 34. The nation's first tribally-owned casino was Kings Club Casino, operated by the Ojibwe Indians of Bay Mills.35. During the war of 1812, Detroit was hotly-contested territory. It was surrendered to the British in 1812, but the first attempt to retake the city in 1813 resulted in the River Raisin Massacre, which had the highest number of American casualties of any battle of the war. Detroit was finally recovered some nine months later during the Battle of Lake Erie.36. The Cross in the Woods Catholic shrine in Indian River has a 31-foot high crucifix, the largest one in the world.37. The nation as a whole learned how to spell the name of Kalamazoo (well, sort of) in 1942 when the Glen Miller song "(I've Got a Gal in) Kalamazoo" hit the top of the charts.38. The Kalamazoo Mall was the first outdoor pedestrian shopping mall in the United States.39. Kalamazoo was also the original home of Gibson Guitars, and a budget model produced in the 60s and 70s was called the Kalamazoo.40. A Roseville man who dropped a couple of F-bombs after falling out of his canoe was convicted in 1999 under a law that had been on the books since 1897 prohibiting indecent, immoral, obscene, vulgar or insulting language in the presence or hearing of any woman or child. In 2002 the conviction was overturned by the Michigan Court of Appeals, and the law was struck down at the same time.41. It is still against the law in Michigan, however, to contumeliously reproach God, assuming you can even figure out what that means.42. In 2008, the city of Flint passed a law that gave police the authority to arrest anyone whose pants sagged so low as to expose their undies or bare butts. The local plumber's union has evidently declined to comment (or comply).43. Brighton and Grand Rapids have laws against being annoying, although Grand Rapids, obviously unwilling to foot the bill for jailing its entire populace, is planning to abolish that law ASAP.

If you want a lonesome time to look for the cache, 1.00pm isn't it. We didn't know there was such a thing as the cannon firing ceremony at 1.00 and rolled up a few minutes before. Bad timing for hunting but great for the big bang. Once it was over and the guy finished rolling up the ball ropes... And they had a discussion about relacquering the wood of the cannon base... And everyone finally left, we were able to grab the cache. Fantastic views.. this is a great location. TFTC Team Canyonero.

Searched and searched to no avail. Local resident homeless chap came and set up shop so we abandoned the search to give him his privacy. Lots of needles etc. around the area too. Thanks for the hunt.

Thanks Team Canyonero for this old Hide in such a great location. We have visited the location of a time ball in Sydney historically, and also Adelaide. Always interesting to think about the importance of them for ships and navigation. After a short search, we had this one found and our name added to the log. Absolutely absolutely beautiful views from GZ and a favourite point added. Domsky

We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove from Margaret River to Freemantle and visited Rottnest Island. Today is already the last day of our holdiday. In the afternoon we will be flying home. That leaves this morning for some sightseeing in Fremantle. The weather is excellent, a clear blue sky and an exuberantly shining sun. There is enough to see and do around here so we have a very enjoyable time. On our tour we also visit this cache. Very nice spot to visit and a great view. We looked around and spotted the cache. Waited for a good moment and then made the grab. Thank you very much for this cache.

Ciao e grazie. #10646Evening walk to admire the sunset, but the strong, too strong, wind doesn't let us enjoy the moment. We dedicate ourselves to the search for this cache which, despite the presence of muggles, we find quite quickly, trying to be as discreet as possible. A signature and we escape away from the gusts.Hello and thanks. #10646

In Freo with axell33 for a few caches. I havent been around these parts for many, many years. What a neat hide in a very high muggle zone! We were careful to not be seen by the several muggles visiting. It was such a beautiful day and our coastal surrounds could not have looked better. Thanks for the cache here.

In town this afternoon enjoying the nice winter weather. Have walked under the Roundhouse a few times but never went up to it until today. A steady stream of muggles at GZ, though they never stayed more than a minute or so, meaning I laid eyes on the prize before I found a break in the traffic to make a quick grab. As I wasn't out to make any finds today I didn't have a scribble stick on me, so photo-log is attached. Thanks for the hide Team Canyonero

Bom boom here comes the squally rain and as everyone ran for shelter I wasn’t about to abandon the mission. After watching different steps geologic dismissed the GPS on the phone and geologic helped me zone and zoom in on this golden oldie. Great to be so far from home base to sense a different history. TFTC - a fave for longevity!

Dieses Jahr ist es endlich soweit und wir reisen nach Australien um die Gibb-River-Road zu fahren. Eigentlich sollte dies schon 2020 stattfinden, aber da kam irgendwas dazwischen. Also 2023 ein neuer Anlauf.

München->Singapur->Perth->Broome->...->Gibb-River-Road->...->Darwin->München
