I have a habit of making a last minute call for a yakking trip, and inevitably that means the tide is all wrong and I run out of time . Today was no different but I did manage a few caches this afternoon. TFTC
Found this cache eventually with Dora the Explorer!.. Had started our search in the wrong area but once the search was expanded the cache was located.TFTC.
Avenged a previous DNF on this cache. Last time I was here there were some naughty plants nearby and I didn't want to hang around. This time found at low tide with CDAH55 who fell in the mud.
M and I decided to head out today for a little bit of a kayaking adventure. The tide was close to high and there was only a light breeze so it was a very pleasant time all round. This has to be one of the most climbable looking trees I've seen. My dismount wasn't quite so easy but I didn't actually hit the drink so all good here! Thanks for find #5155TNLN
Phew! that was a balancing challenge to get to this cache. With the tide now quite high, MrsW managed to scale the tree and sign the log.
So many birds and the trees are full of birdsong in this stretch of creek. Beautiful!
And still the prawns are jumping into our kayaks. (All prawns were released and swam away. )
Thank you for this cache and showing us this creek.

With an free afternoon in front of me, I decided to head out and do a few caches a long this stretch of water.
I decided to head out to last one I targeted first and work my back. This was the fifth cache today and was probably the easiest yet.
I beached my SUP and made my way to the cache. I was pretty well hidden when some guys on jet-ski’s turned up.
I quickly signed the log and headed off to get the last cache on my list.
Thanks for bringing me here.

This morning prior to work, I met DisSister and THE GREEN GECKOS at Leis Park, and planned to paddle a section of North Pine River. It had been a section that I had wanted to do for some time, but it was the motivation of a newly published geocache that had us in the water so early.
We set out on this kayak expedition at 05:40 hr, and in total, paddled a distance of 8.3 km with a moving time of 1:55 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/8726490528). The sun was just starting to rise when we departed, and there was no wind, making it a rather pleasant paddle. In addition, tide timing was also excellent with our pre-work paddle aligning to high tide.
I was paying attention to my GPS on our initial paddle downstream, but we didn't really stop and I thought the cache was over there somewhere. It probably turned out to be a good decision that I didn't follow the GPS, as I wasn't paying attention to the additional waypoint showing the entrance to the small creek/tributary. Consequently, on our return back towards the boat ramp, I let DisSister and THE GREEN GECKOS to keep paddling while I undertook this detour.
A fun little creek to paddle up, and there was a medium-large tree down blocking the paddle, but I felt that the tide was just high for me to battle my way across it (albeit, I did need to use the branches coming from the main trunk to shimmy may way finally across it). I then arrived at GZ, and had a search around for a few minutes, before reading a couple of logs and discovering the cache above me. A graceful exit allowed me to step up on to the main trunk, and make the fun climb to GZ. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron (PRCYS) aka ruzzelz and Slow Puncture (LJCC) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. Good history to this cache too, that I wasn't aware of!
I did laugh thinking how many people would not read the description with the separate waypoint, and try to clamber their way across the bank in order to get to this cache. Taking a quick scan through recent past logs, I realised just how common that approach was, lol!

A chance to paddle with the Chief Bottle Washer of the PRCYS meant an early rise to be at Leis Park at 7:30am… I thought ruzzelz had organised something special as there was a very large boat, but alas that wasn’t for us…
According to the App, we were out here a little over three hours, paddling just over 9km…
ruzzelz was correct, there was no reason to climb the bank and go overland… there’s a very small tributary that goes right to the cache…
Once there though, there was a decision to be made, climb or stand in the SS Origami Hooruu… I chose to stand… making this the hardest retrieval of the morning… talk about a full body workout…
My name is in the log, but I have no idea where it is or even if it’s the right way up… I was concentrating on staying dry and upright… ruzzelz then assured me the camera only comes out once you’re in the water…
Thanks PRCYS and thanks ruzzelz for a great morning on the water…

I’ve been meaning to come for a paddle here for ever so long and finally woke up this morning, looked at the weather and tides and decided today was the day. We couldn’t find a way to access GZ by water so found a suitable landing site a short distance away, scaled the bank and made our way along the ridge to GZ where Mr DisSister made the find. Thanks PRCYS
After attending the CITO this morning, chamad and I decided to head to Petrie for more kayaking and caching. We targetted half a dozen along this part of the river. It was a lovely paddle out, due to the tides about to turn, we decided to head all the way out, then come back with the incoming tide. It was quite an eye opener to see the devastation caused by the flooding earlier in the year, but also great to see nature just continuing to get on with things - we saw some very pretty areas.
The last stop on our way back. With the tide quickly coming back in, we beached the kayaks and jumped over a small but quickly flowing waterway before landing on terrafirma. A quick walk in, we found gz and spotted the cache. chamad made the climb which wasn't high, just tricky to reach and we signed the log. All replaced as found, it was back to the yaks for the short paddle back to the cars.
Thanks Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron for bringing us out here.

What a great paddle along here was. I usually do not paddle at low tide but today myself and Willis007 decided to continue our paddle day with a group along this reach of the river. Having set myself a little personal challenge I set off today to try and continue with that. We had been to a river CITO earlier and noticed some changes in the area there, but the changes in the river here and the effects from the recent rains was even more noticable. Being a low tide paddle we also got to see some unusual land formations and river formations. Oh this geocaching thing and earth caches is paying off.
We paddled to the furtherest cache and timed it so the tide would help in bringing us back. It worked a treat, the calm waters and the clean waters was very noticeable going out. That changed on the return with debris being dislodged and floating with the incoming tide.
We made this find and I did the honours of the climb here, was more a little technical than high but with the log removed it was Willis007 who did the signing. All good with this cache, we replaced all as found and continued on.

Mr CuriousQuest and I met up early for a paddle on the Pine River. This was the first cache of the morning. We found a spot to land the kayaks and madde our way up the bank and along to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Out with Selva Girls for a paddle on the Pine River. A short stroll and once at GZ made a quick find. Log was signed all was returned as found. TFTC
Of coarse the last cache of the trip involved me leaving terra firma. Luckil6 it wasn’t too high and my slipper reef shoes had sufficient traction to see me scale and return to earth with the goal achieved.
Now off to the pub.

A fun day out on the Pine River with Puff'n'Puffin. This was the nineth of 10 new plus one old cache for us
Thanks for the fun YackhtSquad

Out for a kayak with fellow cachers - Seizer. A perfect day on the water - managed to avoid the rain, tides in our favour & a tailwind for the majority of the day. TFTC
Found this with Arewethere? On our new Kayak we had a really fun morning. This was a double challenge. Thank you.
We were on the Pine River last weekend when we realised there were a few of these water craft caches available. Back again today with the whole family. We had second turn on the double kayak and this was the fist of two caches we found on the paddle today.
I think we have found new hobby. Or a hobby supplement. This was a great morning out. It was just off high tide so we were able to paddle quite close to the cache. About 15m to go and we were out of the kayak and squelching around looking for the container. Container was spotted and a few minutes later was retrieved.
Log book all good here. Sheet was signed a returned and we were back to the kayak and on our way.
Thanks very much for the challenge Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron. Our 3rd ever T5 cache. A favourite point for bringing us to this new spot. Cheers

Amazingly beautiful day out on the water today. The conditions and weather were perfect our group of 7 took off from Leis Park around 11, and decided to take a leisurely paddle to the end, then collect caches on the way back.
2 of us looped today which made the adventure even more exciting! Thanks for placing these caches for us to enjoy

Gcoven jumped out of her kayak to make another find. She was so excited to have cleared this stretch of the river that she decided to audition for the band, The Soggy Bottom Boys and decided to plant her behind in the mud.
While we were laughing I thought I had better do something after chickening out at the last cache. I climbed the tree and handed the log down to her because I didn’t have a pen and I also much prefer walking into a pub without people thinking I have shat myself.
It was the end to a great day paddling with old mates. There were plenty of laughs and also moments of deep thought and pondering. The deep thought was more about why we had to leave to be the designated drivers for our daughter’s party than enjoying a beer with this awesome group. tftc

Took over the Nth Pine River with 6 other yakers on this beautiful day. Fittingly, the water was like a mill pond on the exposed sections of river. This was the last cache collected today, which saw two of the yakers complete loops, another got caught up in a triffid trap and there was a bum sliding competition in the mud to keep us all entertained. Enjoyed the day and the caches hidden by the Yakht Squadron. Thanks!!
Had to rescue poor Mrs Woody from attack vines that enveloped her kayak. this led to more mud and spiders than I got exiting my yak to retrieve this cache! Lucky I love her!!! What a great spot to have some good laughs!! TFTC
We decided some days ago that the Kayaks were feeling neglected and needed to be watered. We set our mind on the pine river near Brighton at high tide however as it was nearing lunchtime the wind had picked up a bit and the water looked like it was going to battle us the whole trip. We moved the map a little further up river and settled on Lawnton as the launch point thinking it would be more pleasant. Turns out we got that bit right! The high tide was wonderfully high and it made for a very pleasant paddle down stream to collect some smilies. We set sail for the closest cache and soon discovered a challenge. I pulled the phone out of the waterproof casing and consulted the logs. Someone mentioned an easier way and so we put that cache aside for the moment and paddled on. We soon discovered what was meant by another way. Cache was quickly spotted, signed and returned. Really enjoyed the experience.
Having visited this cache a couple of times, we thought it was apt that we log a find on this one
We had checked out the launch site a couple of weeks ago but just needed a nice sunny day that was also free on our calendars. Finally the stars aligned and we were on the water. The weather was perfect and the water was like a mill pond. Cache is in good order. TFTH.
Out for a leisurely paddle. Attained two kayaks weeks ago & for one reason or another haven’t had the opportunity to utilise them until now. The river is a nice today... weather man said it was raining today. They lied! It was perfect to try out the new yaks.
TFTC smile 6226 out and about with Selvia Girls on the river grabing a few caches as we go had a great morning Thank you to all that helped

OzBC put the word out that a raid on Pine Caches was occurring. Having a little background knowledge I decided to accompany the girls for a fun filled day in the water. Well some one has to be the official photographer.
As many have done before the raiding party want to head directly to this one. Fortunately I was able to convince them there may be a much easier way
Thanks for a great morning on the water Nicole, Elena, Amanda, Candice and Gloria.

Journeyed up from the Gold Coast to experience a lovely day on the river with geo friends, had perfect tide and good weather conditions.
Thought we'd nab this one first as the tide was about to hide some nasty sticks poking up in the water that could of been a hindrance in our kayaks.
Nice cache placement and easy to get to.

Out on the yaks today with some fabulous people - Russel, Nicole, Elena, Amanda, and Gloria. It was great to get out for a paddle and have a good laugh! After meeting at the parking cords at 7 am, we were off for the morning’s adventure.
This was cache 1 of 6 for the day. There may be something amiss with the attribute of this cache - while swimming is not technically required to access the cache, some swimming may or may not have occurred....
Thankfully we had the CO join us, who dutifully supervised while the cache was located and signed.
Can’t wait until next time . TB visits.

Karicka suggested that we go for a paddle and picked these caches along North Pine River. The tide and wind seemed to be against us most of the way there and back but it was a nice day to be out and we pretty much had the river to ourselves. We found ourselves paddling towards this and then further away from it without actually reaching it so we headed for the next one and found our way back to it. Thanks for the cache
Went to chase a few more kayaking caches today. 3 more this afternoon TFTC PRCYS #1063
Two of us today and had a pretty through search found a very likely location for the cache but no luck laying eyes on the container
Geohubby, Billy the Geopooch and I were going to the local Australia Day event, but before we headed over there, we thought we'd like to get the new kayak caches that had appeared nearby while we were on holidays. The weather was a bit temperamental, but we managed to dodge a sun shower and off we went. This is the first cache we headed for and after a nifty bit of paddlework by Geohubby (out of the water) the log was signed. TFTC PRCYS
Found with BlueDior and EngPhil.
What a day. This was the final find after about 4 hours on the water. A long day for sure, but what a nice way to spend it
TFTC, we had a great time today

What a gorgeous, quiet, relaxing little spot to finish out the day. I'm glad we finished up here instead of the original plan of starting out here (though Palopinto may disagree.)
I only wish we'd been about an hour earlier. The tide was just low enough that I had to fight the sticky mud to get to this one. Not to worry, everything will hose off.
I could have spent a while enjoying GZ, but as I'd wasted enough time trying to find another cache as well as a lost pair of sunglasses earlier on, we had to move on quickly.
Thanks for the cache, Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron. Have an FP for the tranquil little location.

All the way to the end and there was a lovely big tree. Found with Engphil and Palopinto during a day on the river. TFTC.
I am down from off the hill (Toowoomba) for a few days. AND, as I bought myself a kayak for Xmas I am here to find a few kayak caches. [^]
So to start the week-end I have teamed up with Orange Crew to find these caches along this stretch of North Pine river.
And it was here I discovered my felt tipped pen got wet and is not working, well sort of.
But I have left my impression in the log sheet and faint 'black' mark.
A quick find, spotted from the kayak.
Thanks for the cache.

Last cache for the morning... getting rather hot now! I think it tipped 35C by the time we got off the water. TFTC!
Had given up on previous one we set sail for this cache back towards the ramp. Ardom then noticed that perhaps it was further up the inlet. Water was getting low at this point. I was worried that I might have to step out of the yak which I did not want as I forgot my shoes! Not to worry as we were down and back in a flash giving us time to have another search for the other. The homeward bound we were!
teamdfl and I have a couple of kayaking runs planned for today and we started this morning on North Pine River. We put in at Leis Park, and since it was a few hours from high tide, we set off for the long haul to Yebba Debba Doo first, then made use of the tide on the way back as we picked off the other caches. A glorious day for it, too
Neither of us had looked closely at the map, and so we cruised back towards our starting point, and soon found ourselves in line with GZ but a good 40 metres off! Umm, did we miss yet another inlet??? Back we went, all the way past our last find, and there discovered the way in, but high tide made this one very difficult to approach A couple of times I was bent over double trying to dodge the branches No trouble making the find, and again I could reach it from my seat. TFTC, PRCYS.

This one was took a while to get to on the ski. It was difficult to maneuver in the narrow channel. At least it was just wide enough for me to turn around.
While we were in the creek we could hear a couple of jetskiers having a blast out in the main creek. This did make it even more difficult on our exit with wash to negotiate as well as the trees.

We spent the morning out on the North Pine River with some members of the newly created Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron to celebrate its inaugural paddle [^] the commencement of what hopefully will be a spectacular New Year as well as a significant birthday event for one of the groups' members
While we certainly enjoyed our paddle along the river, obviously we took every opportunity we could to stop as a cache presented itself and explore some nice little inlets along the way We had no difficulty in locating this cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way
Thank you PRCYS for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Somewhere in the realm of facebook, in the last days of 2017 an invite was sent out to half an army of geocachers, each armed with a kayak to go for a paddle on 1 Jan. That seems like an alright plan to me. And we were expected to set off at 7AM. A lot of me wanted to say no to such an ungodly early morning (especially factoring in an hour drive from home to the boat ramp)! But I gave myself a firm talking to and a quick read of the local geocache pages and decided I'd commit. Don't mind me, enjoying a bit of interesting history!
Fifteen geocachers in twelve boats by now were crowded around The Mill On Moreton Bay and seeing as I was replacing the logbook, wound up in the lead pack of floaty boats heading farther up the creek/inlet/drain. When we got there I endeavoured to hold back and instead pointed Fangsoki and Pprime in a double kayak to where my GPSr was pointing. They were rummaging about when my GPSr did a big bounce and pointed slightly to the left a bit. I looked and from my vantage point in the middle of the waterway spotted the container. 'This will annoy them' as I effortlessly paddled over and made the find, declaring it to the world.
It was obvious now (and by previous logs) that this guy had broken free of it's tether. I was prepared to get out and climb about to fix it, but had nothing on board. Orange Crew, bobbing nearby had the world's boldest zip-tie, so handed it over and being the FTF also, he directed where it should be replaced. Teamwork! With that all done and likely to the disappointment of the crowded masses, I got into my boat without getting wet. And so, we're out of here and down the Pine a bit more. I am keen to see what the new facility/precinct looks like. Thanks for this geocache, Slow Puncture (LJCC)

Cache number two on today's hit list, and the one I'll remember as being the one at which I picked up an eight-legged hitchhiker... For those of you who don't know me, I'm one of Australia's biggest arachnophobics.
After our first find of the day, we headed deeper into the trees in pursuit of this one. I must say, trying to get a dozen kayaks in here at once is not the most advisable thing ever... I was poking along toward the back, looking out for any signs of the old paper mill (of which I saw none - but I'm glad to have read about it. Now I can see, from satellite photos, how the current area reflects the history, which is cool), and by the time we all manoeuvred ourselves into GZ, the logbook had been signed and was being replaced. I floated over to the cache before heading back out the channel, some time during which the spider took up lodgings on my hat. First thing I knew about it was the appearance of some rather long legs over the visor of my hat, mere centimetres from my eyes. I didn't take it well. I managed to rip the hat off, despite it being firmly wedged on my head by my ponytail fed through the loop at the back and almost threw it overboard before having a bit of a panic attack. Thankfully, a couple of my friends knew the deal and were soon by my side while I worked my way through it. My sincere thanks, lads. TFTC but not the spider, PRCYS! =^.^=

Found with PRCYS/Rainbow Flotilla 2018 mob.
I think everyone else has said whats needed to be said.
I enjoyed the outing immensely.
Thanks for a cache on the water.

Fangsoki and I in the big red Dragon yak joined in with the inauguration of the Pine Rivers Royal Yakcht Club, and the continuing tradition of an early New Year's Day paddle in the Rainbow Flotilla - although we paddled against the tide all morning.
We continued on to here after the previous find, and zeroed in on a likely tree - which turned out to not be overly helpful to our cause, but thankfully others spotted our quarry nearby.
Logged as part of Rainbow Flotilla 2018
Thanks for placing this cache, Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron. Found in good condition.

Pprime and I (and the rest of said squadron) paddled to this one next.
This one was a fun little paddle through the quiet area. We spent most of our time trying to disrupt Captain Terror's boat - mostly to no avail.
The cache was found in a place where Pprime and I were not looking. Pprime was even out of the boat from memory. Thankfully, Captain Terror found it somewhere else.
Poor La Kedi had a bit of fun in here - given her love of things with many legs. She managed to pick up a passenger sadly. But she was a brave lass about it!

what a great way to start the new year a nice paddle with a great group . this was our first find . happy new year.
Out on the water with a great group of people. I think there were 15 of us in 12 kayaks. Thanks to Que Sera for taking me in the double kayak, which was a great experience.
We continued down the creek and all tried to fit in and watch Pprime and Captain Terror both looking for the cache in different trees, everyone was looking higher but the cache was laying in a hollow quite low. Orange crew produced a zip tie and Captain Terror replaced it at a safer height.

Closest to launch point, but second find today from the Rainbow Flotilla (hmmm I blame the heat as I type this as I almost typed Rainbow Tortilla - must be that "Mexican" we were dealing with yesterday Slow Puncture ).
Despite not being here long, this cache was found lying on a branch - lucky the tide had been kind to it. A little zip tie affair soon had it secured back to the tree.
Thanks for the cache Slow Puncture (LJCC), I'd have loved to have wandered around the old paper mill building, would've been so interesting!

After the gymnastic exploits to get the previous cache (Something New), I was relieved to be able to nose the kayak straight into this one and sign from the comfort of my seat! Our fourth and last on this stretch of river this morning. Now for the tide assist glide downstream to home. TFTC
After missing out on the FTF, I made plans to at least be the second one there. My family are determined muggles, so I arranged to have a fishing session at Leis Park with my eldest and a couple of friends. I brought the kayak with the intention of ducking down to the 3 new caches while the others tried their luck with the fish. Alas, my friends were late, the tide began to drop and it started to rain as well. Finally got the yak in the water near the boat ramp, cursing the rain as I stepped into the water - and promptly found myself chest-deep inches from the shore! I'd been fishing for a while not even 6m away and it was shallow as! Lucky I'd put the iPhone in a ziplock bag because of the rain, or I'd be having to get another one.
Wet as a shag and very embarrassed I paddled towards GZ, glancing occasionally at the Garmin and wondering where I could even get to shore. Eventually, I found a spot and the hunt began for GZ. I had Kieran's log in mind as I searched, and eventually spotted the container. NOW I know why it's a T5 - it wasn't just because of the mode of transport required. I began the slippery process of going out on a limb, but as it turns out I'm just that little bit too short to reach the container and get the log out. I finally got my hands on it, trying hard to keep my balance at the same time. The final result was that I pulled the container off its tether! No tools, just a phone & GPS and my car key...
That was 2 days ago. I signed the log (might as well since I had it in my hand) and, after a few fruitless attempts to somehow reattach the container, left it in a hollow on a branch. I've been racked by guilt ever since (hence the lag between finding this hide and logging it), and my next opportunity to get there is New Year's Day, so I guess I better fix it then.
Anyhow, if anyone is considering grabbing this one before then, it IS at GZ, but the T rating is a little lower at present.

After working night shift last night, I had a good sleep in my darkened, air-conditioned cocoon before waking from a deep slumber to find a few emails waiting. On opening the app I had a couple of found logs on my caches, a couple of pathtag trade requests, and a new cache publication. Nice, where is it? Ooh a paddle not far from home. Gotta get moving . Before I had even finished briefly reading the page, 2 more were published in the same area. Yep, gotta do this .
Just as I was getting up, Mrs OC arrived home with the kids. A quick cursory conversation regarding "paddling FTFs" and "I'll be late for lunch" was all that was needed to get the message across, she knows the drill very well by now .
Lucky for me I take good care of my yak, washing and drying it thoroughly each time, and all the gear I need is stowed inside ready for use making it very easy to grab it and go rather running around looking for paddles and lifejackets.
Leis Park is only 5 mins from home but in that time it started to rain. Heavily. There were still patches of blue everywhere so I knew it wouldn't rain for long, but geez it hammered down, making for a wet unload. By the time I was paddling, the sun was back out making for a steamy, humid, sweaty paddle.
GZ was not far from the ramp, I had barely warmed up and I was there. At first I didn't trust the GPS, it was telling me 50m *in there*. After rechecking, it turns out the GPS got it right, and it looked like this was as far as I'd be paddling, time to be getting out! A short bushbash through wet weeds and the terrain opened up, and I soon saw the hide . Didn't take much effort to access the container, and it was a relief to see I'm FTF . Yeehah, on to the next one!
I barely looked at the cache page, and certainly didn't have time to read the description so it was only when I got home that I saw the effort that has gone in to making this one. Thanks for the research, as a local of 12 years I certainly remember the final years of production at the mill. It was such a big beast, the trucks came and went night and day and the big stacks were always issuing clouds of steam. It seemed like such an unstoppable juggernaut we were all a tad surprised when it closed it's doors and was soon demolished.
Thanks for the hunt **Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron**, this find makes #4555 and is worthy of an FP. Discover our TB
