Find 71Decided to take the route via corangamite lake road. This is certainly a location I wouldnt have discovered if not for geocaching. What interesting scenery!! Once arrived to location felt like this was too challenging for me! Lots and lots and lots of rocks to look under! But managed to find it. Right near to a very large snake skin shed which was a bit disconcerting The box is smashed and needs replacing. Yet contents holding up due to the location of the hide. The lake itself is an incredible location. Ive wondered for awhile about how to access this lake. Great little adventure. Tftc.
Beautiful spot and the smell of the salt lake reminds me of travelling to the Coorong with my parents as a kid. Thanks for the memories.
I found it

Good stretch for us and our Westies. Pretty windy today creating a bit of a dust storm from some dry areas across the far side of the lake bed. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with FUF009.
My 1st chance to get out of the City and I took some leave. It was also my birthday on the Friday.
We had initially planned to go camping but the weather wasn't so hot so day trips it is! And actually this was a great day trip. I love the countryside and the open road.
This weekend felt "normal" again after so long apart and in various lockdowns.
Today we drove and drove and drove. And I was a passenger so could enjoy it more.
A quiet spot we had all to ourselves.

Off for a long day, (550+ km drive) to cache around Beeac, Cressy and Rokewood and grab the odd ones out n about.
We left at around 8am and got back home just after 11pm.
Quite the variety of caches found. And in some cool locations too, from lookouts, lakes, salt flats to a plethora of surrounding paddocks, the odd tree climb and a short stroll down a dirt track, the day had it all.
After making our way through the long grass, and keeping our eyes peeled for snakes, we made it to the rocks for the find.
Interesting little location.

It's funny how things turn out. On a regular caregiving trip to the Colac area where I was visiting and shopping for my 82 year old auntie on a day that is the 3rd anniversary of my father and her brother's passing, I found my auntie was a little flat so I suggested a drive to the area that both she and my dad grew up.
It was a little outside of the 5km from home for her but not too much so off we went. She chatted all of the away, pointing out where many houses had been and who had lived in the houses and on the farms. As a young girl, their family home had also been the post office. She talked about the telephone system and how it operated, connecting it with other exchanges in the local area. What an insight for me!
The shores of Lake Corangamite were her home and the people and families of the area were her friends.
She directed me to a road while telling me of the stories of often visiting and also wondering of the crashed plane that now lays somewhere near here. We stopped the car and I grabbed my device to find a little more of the whereabouts of the plane. Lo and behold there was a cache less than 100m away.
Thanks Fergzter, for the memories that my auntie shared and for highlighting a place that was also connected to my Dad.
A favourite from me.

On this wonderful long weekend I got up early and went for a drive. I ended up at this cache. It’s such a peaceful place, it was only me and the birds, oh and a plane flew over. I think I could stay here for hours just enjoying the view. The way in is a little soft underfoot but nothing terrible. Not bad for winter. The cache is in excellent condition. TFTC

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

Well this was way out in the wastelands or farmland.
As I pulled up near GZ was surprised to see a car.
Was it a fellow cacher, no a photographer taking in the surrounds.
A short walk to GZ and she was out of my site as I signed the log.
Nice spot.

Yep, it certainly was, somewhere out there. We all took the stroll to GZ, very carefully as the grass was horribly slippery. Thanks for the cache and the views.
After enjoying an event and then exploring Beeac this morning, our small group (us, micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506) started heading towards Alvie and Red Rock. This took up most of the day, but we just had to make the "slight detour" past this cache as we headed towards home. A lovely location to round off our day. After finding and replacing the cache, we sat on the rocks enjoying the views before making our way back to the cars. TFTC Fergzter.
Enjoy walk toward the cache.

A day out caching with AusFox; for the first time since lock down. We were looking mainly at some lab caches but could pass up a few extras as we passed by. It was a bit of a detour to grab this one but we couldn't left a lonely green bob on the map.
After waiting for the car parked across the track to get out of our way we worked our way to a out of the way place to leave the car and headed of for GZ.
I missed out on seeing the massive Blue tongue as I took a slightly more direct route to GZ than AusFox;
Thank you for leaving this cache on the map for us to find

Out for the day Traveling the back roads in search of less populated locations to a few caches and Labs on the journey.
This one was sitting all alone, so we couldn’t resist a visit. As we arrived near GZ we were greeted by a vehicle across our path. They just kindly moved so we could continue on.
We ventured down to GZ where I spotted the biggest Blue Tongue lizard I’d seen basking in the little warmth there was at this location. A quick find was made and a visual return to the car was made.
Log signed and replaced as found
Thanks for the cache Fergzter

Sorry to the people we interrupted ‘parking’ haha
What a beautiful spot. Bit squishy underfoot but the kids loved exploring and finding.

Out on a cache run with kenare and kenbryl today so we could get out of the house. Stopped by here for our first for the day. Nice stroll down to Gz with great views of the lake and surrounds. Cigc. Tftc
LOL, yes, somewhere out there are 2 of kenare's caches from the Woady that have been washed away from floods. But we weren't going to look for them today! The views of the lake and the hills in the distance are pretty cool. TFTC
After being cooped up for so long it was time for a lil road trip. Chips, cheese and gravy from the Blue Yabby was on kenbryl’s list of places to go once co-vid 19 restrictions were eased. After fulfilling her wish we then continued on for a few caches. What a great place!! Tftc
....is Area 51.
Could have almost walked to it today. A little hyper alert tho with the brown snake reporting.
Hot, dry day. A few birds chirping. Something that was onced hooved in now calcium decomposing into the earth once again. A vast network under the feet here of roots, ant runs, grasshoppers and splitting earth baking in the hot sun.
Sometimes the best place to be is under. I'm sure we'll all get there some day.

I knew that a cache would eventually take me to some good, up close views of this large lake
Here was such a spot !!
The drive out to the end of the road is scenic enough [^]
But the short stroll at the end,
out onto the lake is the icing on the salt lake
And out at GZ,
a quick cache find [^]
Fave dance time

This certainly was somewhere out there. Another interesting view of the volcanic plains but the lake sure is looking dry. The flies were very happy to see some people and raced them to GZ where the cache was quickly found thanks to good coords. TFTC Fergzter.
It was the first time for me in this great Country. Very likely there will be another trip, it was such a lovely time with Lots of special Moments and Places. Thanks for showing !
It was windy and overcast when I arrived here. Not much water in the lake, so had a short wander across the soft mud, hoping I didn't break through the crust. Happily I survived today.
Good co-ordinates, and quick find.
Thanks for bringing me here.

A great place. Love the salt lakes district. It's always interesting to see the lake at different times of the year. Here's what it looked like today!
Suscoe was heading home today after a mist pleasant visit down the coast to Apollo Bay.
After lunch at Colac we decided to detour via the shores of Corangamite to see what we could see.
A short walk followed by a find.
How nice was that apart from the strong northerly blowing across the dry lake bed.
Thanks to Fergzter for placing this cache out here. Not bad views either!

After celebrating a friends birthday yesterday in great style at Coragulac House, the party then moved to a paddock complete with huge bonfire and camping facilities at nearby Alvie. What better way to spend today but caching with a circuit of Lake Corangamite This was my first stop on that mission and after a short walk the cache was soon found. An interesting place that is off the beaten track TFTC Fergzter

A mixed dozen usually refers to bottles of wine - Today it was caches: including old homesteads, mail boxes in the mud, amazing hides for fun puzzles, colors of the ring road, linking with overseas cachers and even taking the red hammer test.
Certainly a different approach to this one after Area 51. It was interesting to see the crickets disappear under the grass as they sensed our footsteps. The cache was quickly in hand and our name added to the log.
Thanks 'Fergzter' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Found by Mary & David, in company with muzza and Alansee, at 1250. Our second stop for the day, and no threat of a muddy approach this time, Found easily after a brief search, and retrieved a pathtag. Our thanks to Fergzter.
I have wanted to do a specific cache in the area for some time to complete my second loop. Times and weather conspired against me, so I ended up completing the loop with a different cache. However, I still wanted to do the cache, and today was the day. So I teamed up with Maccamob and Alansee.
After doing that special cache (Area 51), we headed to this one for a quick find after the short walk. Nice to see the lake from the opposite side. Thanks to Fergzter for the cache.

After doing area 51 we decided to head for Cressy for lunch but there was absolutely nothing there. We then headed for this one and made a quick find.
What an interesting location. Came here twice as the first time there was a dust storm and there was no way we were going out there in that. This time the weather was magnificent and so was the view. Thanks for bringing us here absolutely great location if not remote. LS and cache in great condition.
Our very last cache for the day after a great weekend caching around Apollo Bay and the Great Ocean Road. We were very familiar with Lake Corangamite even before caching, using it as an excellent spot to take sunset photos, but we never knew of this access point. We even circled the lake seeking out other ways to get in, so we must have totally missed Woods Rd. Not anymore , thanks to this cache we now know of another good spot to view this amazing salt lake from.
Thanks Fergzter for the great sized cache in an amazing area.

Road surface great for a road to nowhere. In hot weather snake awareness necessary. Nice pristine cache. Tftc
How fortunate to have a new geocache close to home for the New Years Day Souvenir. Thanks to the CO and Happy New Year. Found in the company of Washboard.
This is a wonderful out of the way spot, not far from where we live but not often visited so thank you for hiding this one. A happy amble on New Years Day with Robynonthego. Look forward to more
Found It.......FTF........ After having a lazy afternoon driving around looking at potential hiding places for future caches we stopped in at my sisters to help her to back her caravan up her driveway and after we finished we headed home for some tea only to see an Email sitting there with a new cache in the area so with tea scoffed down in record time we jumped into the GeoTruck and set off. After winding out through past all of the rocky barriers we arrived at the parking spot while the sun was setting, So with the light failing we set off down the hill and wandered over to GZ and the search started and soon the cache was in our hand and with a clean log sheet we did a happy dance so with our name in the FTF spot we rehid the container and returned to the car. Thanks Fergzter for the cache. We knew of this place as MrsH_3 tried to get the council to put tables and chairs here 20 or so years ago and keep it neat and tidy but to no avail We are giving this a Fav point
