A fun tree to climb.Of the three names added to the log today, realistically only I will one day log a find here.....no doubt in a couple a years. Something to work towards I guess.

Was putting together a grab list of caches when I'm up the Sunny Coast way next week. This challenge made that list but a nagging voice inside the head void questioned if I really needed to make a stop. A little research and then a reread of past logs found I'd already been here some two years ago, then forgot where I'd been . . .If only there were more surprises like finding a lazy $20 in the jeans' pocket, or an old winning lotto ticket amongst my work notes, or a cold beer in the fridge that the kids missed. Anyways I'm happy to rectify this forgetfulness by adding a smiley. Thanks bug for the challenging my memory.TeamARF has used Project-GC Challenge Checker to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Caches with D+T >= 8: 327 Types with D+T >= 8: 7

I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing, a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike of Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon. On Anzac Day, we travelled from Roma to Carnarvon and hiked out to Big Bend, visiting as many of the side attractions as we had time for including Boolimba Bluff. On Friday, we climbed Battleship Spur in the morning and then spent a lazy day enjoying the gorge at Big Bend. Yesterday, we got an early start and hiked back down the gorge stopping at the Moss Garden along the way. After visiting Mickey's creek Gorge, we finally hit the road, stopping at the Rolleston pub for lunch, before collecting some caches around Moura and Theodore, before an interesting Saturday night at the Cracow pub.Heading for home now, almost in the home straight - last 100 k of an 1800 k journey. I was pretty keen to just get home, but Viko Cz was equally as keen for "just one more". I decided to humour the visitor and this was the one he chose. So we diverted from the highway and headed here. So. at GZ whilst I stretched my legs , he did the climbing today.[Crookedpete](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Crookedpete) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7GFTM/33449 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did. Im working on a Challenge that required me to find a Challenge cache today. Its a weird, roundabout reason to find a cache, but thats how I roll. I had been keeping my eye on my stats for this cache on one of my many spreadsheets and handwritten Challenge notebook pages. I knew that Id finally qualified, thanks to my attendance at the Leap Day Mega in Adelaide and the following three-day road trip to Melbourne. So today was the day.Unfortunately the weather has continued to be unhelpful, drizzly rain on and off for the whole-knows how many days. When I arrived at GZ, there were several cars and vans parked nearby, however no one was out and about, thanks to the drizzle, so I made my way up the tree. As the CO knows, Im a bit of a monkey, however I needed to be pretty slow and careful due to the moss and the slipperiness of the branches. It was only as I got up a few meters that I spotted the cache, and again slowly made my way further up so that I could reach the container. As I opened it up, the inside log sheet was pretty much mush. I have no idea how a log sheet inside a ziplock bag inside a closed pre-form container could be this wet, but unfortunately thats the situation here. Were it not so wet, I would have gone down to my car, retrieved another log sheet and put it all to rights, but Ill do that another day. Thanks, dahumbug, for another fun challenge cache, and with a good tree climb to add to the fun. Ill do some maintenance on this one for you in the next few weeks. No idea when I qualified for this one, but now I do. I spotted it yesterday in project GC when I was planning my upcoming trip. Checking which challenges I had signed and ones I had not. This one had acquired the magic green tick. CoolName was added to the log a while ago, after a couple of failed attempts in the rain. Happy to be able to claim it finally. Big Grin

David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Have caught up with my logging and starting to sort through my challenges list. Would you look at that! I finally qualify for this one! Log was signed two years ago, almost to the day, while out and about with E Smiley. I believe we found the remains of Bugs pants in some Witta Forest that day….anyhoo it’s nice to be able to claim a smiley on this challenge and fill a spot in my next loop too. Thanks again for pouring your energies into this game for our enjoyment

We headed up here today for operation Loop Completion and this challenge was one of our targets. A lovely shady rest area greeted us as we pulled in close to GZ. It didn’t take long to spot the cache and Mr DisSister headed up. Nice number and spacing of branches for the ascent to this one. The log book is getting full now. Thanks dahumbug

I've been hanging out with Davinells way to much.... That's not true...

I've grown to hate challenges... That's a lie...

I really dislike that South East Corner... That's not true either...

One of those challenges that I never thought I would qualify for, but some expert planning (Not by me) sees us here today...

Thanks Bug for another entertaining challenge that only adds to the enjoyment of the game...

Was looking through my challenges and realised we now qualify!! That didn’t take as long as I thought.

I remember hearing about this challenge on the top of neglected mountain. Back then I wasn’t into challenges as I hadn’t done a lot of caching yet, I thought it was a good idea for a challenge but knew I’d be waaaaay off, I think at that stage I only had 1 or 2 D5’s!

But as I started to get more into caching and hiking I was very slowly ticking a few of those corner boxes. Then we bought kayaks and that definitely helped! I have now come to really like the challenge of challenge caches and this one was no different. Because of the 6 types required, there have been some pretty cool caches involved to qualify. One that stands out is the EC for Mt Maroon caves, a stunning place to visit.

Tft challenge bug, another worthy FP for you. Now to work on that centurion challenge

Peppa and I are enroute to an event further north, as we were driving straight past we decided to stop in and sign this cache.

Peppa spotted it from the ground and I did the climb. I was thankful to have a stamp on hand which made signing the log easier!

I don’t quite qualify yet, I’ve got enough types, but only 76 finds. Something to work towards!

Davinells and I are having a weekend on the Sunshine Coast… Staying at Ilkley, don’t try and find that on a map, means we’re on the road early to attend the event at Woondum National Park…

Deliberately running early we’ve got time for a cache or two… As the weekend is all about Challenges, Davinells made the call and here we are…

At least I spotted the cache, and watched from the ground as Davinells stamped the log…

As of today I have 77 of the required 100 caches and 5 of the six types… something to work towards…

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed north up to the Sunshine Coast and we took a hike at Mount Ninderry. An enjoyable walk-up with some awesome views at the top. We then took a drive to Nambour via Yandina to grab lunch. We then spent the afternoon taking a walk around Nambour and learning of its sugar cane processing history via [The Mill Tribe](https://coord.info/GC8VEKY) Wherigo.

This was our last physical cache find for the day, and given the "challenge" nature of this cache, I was excited to make this a find. After mistakenly driving up the footpath, we soon made this cache a driveby, and it was only the tree climbing that was left to complete. I couldn't see any sign of this cache from the ground, so I ascended, and then went up a way that I would go to hide a cache, but that didn't yield anything. I then took an opposite tact and went along the breadth of the tree, but no sign of a cache either. I was beginning to lose hope, and as I was returning back to the main tree trunk, I managed to catch sight of something artificial. As it turned out, it wasn't too far from where I was initially looking around, so back along that perch, and I had the cache in hand. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks dahumbug for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

I used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7GFTM/33449 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if I qualified for this challenge, and I did.
I have found:
• 814 geocaches with D+T ≥ 8, and required 100; and
• seven geocache types with D+T ≥ 8, and required six.
Apologies for the lack of tick pic - I'm not a fan of such non-stimulating material.

We scampered up this tree on October 12th, 2020.
We did not meet the criteria then, but added our name to the log. I recall battling some spring spider webs on the way up.
Somehow, over the last weeks, we have managed to qualify after a long time!
A good challenge, and one that kept us on our toes to the end.
Thanks Dahumbug

I signed the log for this one a while ago and then forgot about it. Then, I only needed one cache to qualify, but had no idea when I would be able to find it. Recently, I was running some challenge caches through the checkers and came to this one. I almost didn't run it, but changed my mind at the last minute. I am very happy that I did because I now qualify. Big Grin TFTC

The young one is very keen to get his driving hours up so he was happy to get up at sparrow fart and drive us up the coast. Muggle65 got to drink coffee and l got to catch some zzzzzzs. Got woken at GZ and noone was around. Guess all the machinery at GZ is a deterrent. Had been here years before for a long gone cache and the place was a buzz of activity. Scooted up the fabulous tree and added our names to the logbook. Thank you for another fun challenge

Finally got my name in the log. I have stopped here twice before. Both times it was wet and there was no way I was getting off the ground. Nice and dry today, and an empty rest stop as a bonus. Name is in the log, now I just need to figure out what caches I need to find to qualify.

Whilst visiting muggle friends in Caloundra, E_Smiley asked me if I wanted a day out caching but unfortunately I said I could and only wanted to do this one. It wasn't too far off the beaten track with a slight detour from our planned girls shopping trip to Maroochydore. Surprisingly, the muggles tagged along and E_Smiley was early as usual & thankfully had volunteered to do the tree climb as I certainly wasn't dressed appropriately for it. Love this Challenge and a favourite point from me, thanks CO for placing.

A long time ago the CO spoke to me about this one and told that I should qualify but not being a project GC user I hadn't checked. I did eventually check it and I did indeed qualify. I've been past a few times but there's always been cars parked or I've just forgot.

Heading home from Nambour today I remembered and approaching I could see that there were no cars so made the stop to sign the log!

It seems like such a familiar spot and I noted that the container had grown!

Log signed, ants killed and all returned as found.

Tic pic attached.

*Time to be a leader, a responsible cache owner, a thoughtful person regarding humanity.
Groundspeak or Geocaching HQ have been slow to be on the front foot regarding this matter so its left for us cachers to lead the way*

**"With discussions here about whether or not or it is okay to ignore closures etc to go caching, please let me offer some perspective.
Given the likely death toll from COVID-19 in the USA will be in 6 figures at least (that’s tens of thousands) and more likely in 7 (that’s millions) as well as in 8 figures worldwide (that’s tens of millions), not following restrictions designed to save lives is industrial grade selfish.
So our streaks may have to end.
And our physical caching may have to stop.
Hopefully not too many of our lives will end but some most definitely will. And I am certain around the world some of our caching family have already died.
COVID19 hangs around on surfaces so you don’t even have to physically be in the presence of someone who is positive. Just touching a surface (cache?) they have touched recently and then touching your face will do it.
I really really hope that a “Hail Mary” comes through and we get a vaccine in less than the expected 18 months. But until it is actually here being given to large numbers we are all at risk. And while older people are clearly more at risk young ones are dying too.
As I am sure some of you are wondering about my qualifications to offer this view, please check out my background. Not too hard if you have Google or another search engine. “Dr Bill Griggs” should do it.
Please stay as safe as you can people.
And please follow the rules designed to keep you and all of us safe.**

Cheers to Bill, aka Brad&Janet for the information.

Yours in Caching,
Corey aka dahumbug

Had to speak to the birds to get them to stop harrassing poor Ardom! Signed by us all but reckon I am the one with the most collecting to do in order to qualify!

Signed on our way through today. I was 10 short in the car park today, so I’ll need to do some work!

Woohoo, I qualify!

I've really enjoyed this challenge, and used it as a focal point when planning a few geocaching trips. Unfortunately during my stay down at Canberra over Easter I neglected to find one last type that was required... and my options back home were extremely limited. Still... I knew the time would come.

A weekend to Girraween with a group was planned, and I had thought I would target Girraween Granite earthcache then, as the final find required for qualification. Those plans changed however, and the group decided to go elsewhere. I opted to keep my cabin booking, and lured in another friend for a day hiking as she also had parts of the earthcache yet to visit. On day two I set off on a solo trail run to find the remaining waypoints she had found previously. With all the info gathered, we compared notes and sent the answers off. When we received the go ahead to log our find, I typed up a big speal and as I was uploading a few photos I managed to lose the lot. The tantrum that followed lasted a few weeks and eventually I redid my log. It has taken a further few weeks to get to logging this one, but only because I've been lazy/busy doing other things. Razz

Anyway, enough waffling on. To be honest, apart from the fact that I love Girraween and am happy to go there and explore with or without a cache find at the end... this challenge cache is what got me motivated to making it happen. I love that it is not at all easy to qualify for, that it requires the variety of types in the difficulty/terrain range. Bloody brilliant!

Thanks for this challenge cache, dahumbug, and for the superb adventures that are wrapped up in my logging it as a find. A favourite point from me. Smile

I got my signature in the cache today... but I do not yet qualify. I have 112 finds but only 5 types... one more is required and I hope to find it sometime soon. This is a great challenge and working towards qualifying has certainly taken me past what I thought my limits were. I'll be back for my smiley... soon I hope!

I signed the log back on 26/06/2018 while on my way to my sister-in-laws place, and have only just realised that I found [the last cache needed to qualify for this challenge](https://coord.info/GC7PADZ) last month Cool.

Sunday. At last! Slow Puncture qualify for this cache as of today after finally finding our last qualifying cache for this challenge. Log has been signed previously, in anticipation of us qualifying. Nice to be able to finally tick this one off our to-do list! We needed one cache for ages – a Letterbox cache that fitted into the grid. We hadn’t been to any tree climbing events which involved letterboxes, so this one had eluded us for some time. Qualifying evidence included.

Thanks ***dahumbug***, for creating this challenge. Smile

The log for this cache was signed in May of 2018 however at that stage I had not qualified to log a find. I was several caches short and I needed one more cache type.

I got the final cache type at Girraween National Park being an Earth Cache and I finally got the 100th cache when I found Crochet for beginners.

I signed the log for this challenge late last year. Since then, I have made up the 11 finds I needed and today I found the Mt Maroon Caves earthcache which gave me my sixth cache type and 100th qualifying cache.

Thanks for the challenge dahumbug. This was find #3947. Please discover my trackable: MMGJ6B

I have been working towards this challenge for a while but I am still somwhat short with 89 qualifying finds and only 5 cache types. I have earmarked a certain earthcache in the Scenic Rim to rectify the second part and am slowly working on the first part. But, as I was in the area, I thought that I might as well sign the log.

My GPSr was ping-ponging between two trees. I took the most likely. Being a 'bug cache, I didn't bother trying to locate the cache from the ground, knowing that it would be high. So I just started climbing and pretty soon spotted it. Yep. High. But not too difficult to reach. While I was signing the log, a march fly decided to start gnawing on my leg.

Thanks for the challenge. I will continue working on it.

Always loving a challenge and a tree climb , we checked our south east corner to see if we qualified and what do you know? We did! So as we headed to Kilcoy the scenic way, we added another 2 tree climbs to our Queensland finds. The carpark was empty luckily so it made it easier to scope out the cache, negotiate the climb and of coarse sign the log.
Thanks dahumbug for the fun challenge cache.

In anticipation of a trip to the Sunshine Coast, I looked at some of the challenge caches to see if I qualified. This one was almost a tick, I was short one cache type. I found a qualifying earthcache so made a point of finding that on our way here. Today, I ducked out from my conference for a quick find. TFTC.

I enjoyed finding this cache, as I can’t resist a tree climb. When I pulled into the car park I was dismayed to see a muggle near GZ. It turns out he was more interested in throwing his rubbish out the car window, and proceeded to do so as soon as he thought I was out of sight. I do wonder what these people think bins are provided for. Anyway, I didn’t spot this one from the ground, so I headed up blind. I soon spotted it once up in the tree. A great cache and challenge dahumbug

As Janet has reminded me a few times “This is not a geocaching trip”

But for each team there are some challenges that just scream pick me, pick me, pick me.

This is one of those for us. While we are a long way behind bella at waggy (who isn’t?) we still manage to qualify fairly well.

Today we had the pleasure of the company of the CO with the first find of the morning being a FTF. After a few other adventures, not all planned(!), fittingly this was the last find of the day. Not being on a bicycle we did not park quite as close as B@W, but we did not have a long trek.

Shortly after spotting the container, it was up,up, up and our name was added to an illustrious logbook Smile

Then it was time for a bakery lunch to celebrate a great morning out - and the success in finding a matching car tyre to replace the one trashed eariier in the day...

Of course this one gets a Favourite Point from us Smile

On our way to visit the sister-in-law in Nambour and stopped off here thinking it would be a quick and easy drive by er no my GPS had a fritz and took me all over from one side of the park to other and back again before finally settling near GZ where a quick check of the attributes confirmed some more climbing of wet trees was required. I couldn't spot the cache from the ground but my suspicions were confirmed half way up the tree, where I signed the log, despite being one cache type short of qualifying, but I visited just in case I visit one of the 15 or so caches in Australia that do qualify for a 6th type
Thanks dahumbug for yet another tree to climb

Now this is my sort of challenge and ha ing passed and found the ACT one with flying colours we knew we would be good for this one with over 600 in the SE corner. ( checker access down at the moment so will update later).
This turned out to be a night time find after having dinner with the CO he suggested some caches and night time tour of the area.
GZ was reached. In fact we parked closer than most. Necks cranes skyward and then up we went to add our name to the log. A favourite point from us. TFTC

With reports that the creeks of the Sunny Coast had been recently sprouting dozens of new caches, a plan was hatched to paddle Eenie and Cooloothin Creeks with Slow Puncture to see what we could find. Between and after paddles we had time for a few finds.

This challenge was last but not least found today, and was a more comfortable climb than some of the others attempted, no knees were knocking together grabbing this one. See our previous qualifying note for evidence of the big green tick of approval. Adding a fave point for the extra DT this one adds towards our next loop.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache **dahumbug**.

Tuesday. Mrs SP was out up the coast in the light rain today with Orange Crew, both with kayaks in tow. After having collected the caches along Eenie and Cooloothin Creeks, we were on the way home with this cache to collect before we were heading off. Looks like we don’t actually need much more before we qualify – only another 3 caches and one of which which needs to be a different type! I’m putting my better half of Slow Puncture onto this to see which caches we need! Razz

Thanks ***dahumbug***, one day (soon, hopefully) we will post a Found log! Razz

I was searching for caches with this particular D/T combination, and was very pleased to see this one turn up! Of course I ran the checker straight away and came up with a lovely green tick [^] Okay yep, a tree climb at T3.5. Reckon I can do that Smile I suggested it to T-Tech and we added it to our Mothers Day visit to his Mum up at Buderim.

The Camp area was deserted and we followed the numbers to an excellent looking tree, where T-Tech spied the container and headed straight up. I was pretty keen to get up there as well, and the climb looked straightforward so I joined him in the tree, and made sure to lay hand to the container! Easy as Big Grin Very pleased to get my name in this one as it completes my 5th lap of the D/T grid [^] Cool TFTC and Challenge,  dahumbug.

I am a long way from qualifying for this by way of number of caches and cache types but at least the log has been signed.

An easy tree climb to this one.

Will log a found log at sometime in the future when I finally qualify.

Thanks for the challenge ***dahumbug***

Couldn't find at first. So did some other caches and came back and saw within 2 minutes. I think the t rating should be a 4. Qualified yesterday after doing a whereigo. Thanx for the challenge and was a high but easy climb.

It's time to leave this town it's time to steal away
Let's go get lost anywhere in Q.L.D
Let's go get lost, let's go get lost....

On a road trip with my two eldest munchkins but made a special side detour to create a smiley for this challenge cache. What's an extra half hour added to a seven hour drive Razz

I knew exactly where I was heading as I had been **FTF** on the last traditional cache that had been hidden here many moons ago. Arriving at GZ it didn't take long to spot the high, hidden beasty. Rightio, here I go!
Go go gadget arms. Without much effort I had the container in hand but still had to give the tree a huge hug while I signed the blank log.
Woohoo! A great start to my holidays Smile
