Not even going to try that one, where we think it is we saw a ferret run there and then pretty sure we heard little ferret babies - dont feel like being bitten today, will come back another time!
Out in the middle of nowhere and about 94 fence posts since the last cache but who's counting?? Ahh the things you do when on a geocaching adventure.
Day two of my road trip through Southland. Today's journey takes me from Invercargill back to Mosgiel. My rather indirect route goes by way of Riverton on to Tuatapere then through Winton, Mataura and Balclutha. With a final detour up to Middlemarch. Old School Challenge caches are the focus of the trip, but there's a few others to look for along the way as well.
I enjoyed doing this series. It certainly helped to give the days total a boost. TFTC

Last for the day, we had to come back as they were shearing in the nearby shed. They still were, but went for it anyway, LAst for the day and also last of the series. Thanks and here is a fav point too.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day spent collecting smileys around and about Balclutha. It rained a wee bit about lunchtime, but it was a glorious day for caching!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Don't stop to early near the white n green sign post my leg fell down into a hole then after hubby pulled me out I was being extra careful for holes and fell into another hole this time hurting my other ankle and wrist. Hubby found the cache tho up further..TFTC
After shifting my snail shell to Balclutha, where I have never stayed before in my six years of travelling the country, it is only today that I have managed to get some caching done. To make up for the lack of signed caches I decided to do this series to the South of this burg to get my numbers up. Also it is the start of a new Climb The Peak mountain.
This is another in the series.
Cheers for the cache.

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Got me stumped here. Checked several fence posts. Arranged a replacement to help this one along. Cheers.
Friday 13. Balcultha to Gore and back. Another long day with Gore on the agenda. But got sidetracked with back to basics with the ABC series. So lets hit the road!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Headed down south a beautiful still autumn afternoon south which was new territory for me with CO to help with her maintenance run while convalescing in the car. Great way to find caches and check they are all okay. TFTC Natalie247
Enough time to stop and pick up a few of Natalie's Bob series will be back for more for sure! tftc
I decided to tackle this series today - having decided a couple of weeks ago I was rather annoyed when I suffered an accident yesterday which hampered my efforts a little. Nevertheless, I managed all twenty-six today!
Again, by this point I unfortunately wasn't spending too much time reflecting on the caches (though I'm happy to report they were all in good nick). I did enjoy them all, save for the sore thumb. Cheers!

A quick park and grab while out about grabbing a few caches down this way. A nice and easy find and on to the next one. TFTC
Thanks collecting cache on the way to Gore for my uncles memorial service. It is on late this afternoon so after dropping my youngest son a school off I headed planning to enjoy my day caching.
And a wonderful selection of cache to find too. Thanks Natalie.

On a road trip, chauffeured by Saethwr as she gets some more driving experience. This is a good run to get further on my quest to find the world turtle.
Nice and dry in a fairly deep hollow. Someone had left a bottle cap, which reminded me that as a youngster I collected caps from non alcoholic fizzy drinks. Sounds silly now, but back then the caps also had where they were bottled, so coke from Wellington, Hamilton, Dunedin and several other places. No one knows where my collection went when we moved house.
Thanks for the smilie Natalie247.

Having a day out and picnic in the clutha area. Enjoying the winter sunshine. Again going to places never visited before. Thanks to all cache owners.
Dakotacats and I decided to make a full day of caching in the area and one of our main targets was this A - Z series. We found all caches in this series and enjoyed the different roads and scenery along the way. TFTC
4Clubs and I spent an enjoyable day caching in the area. We found all 26 of the Blockbuster series, and we travelled on roads we have never travelled on before. Thanks for putting this series out Natalie, we had fun.
TFTC - thanks Natalie - found this morning while out grabbing the alphabet series - quick find while touring around some previously untraveled road
Really enjoyed

Down South for a geocaching day trip with the main intention being A - Z please Bob. Started this series with A but then all order was lost! A fun series which was very much enjoyed. TFTC Natalie247 and the time and effort for this series which many of us feature in
Haven't been on a caching "dawn raid" for ages! Set off before sun-up to clean up the Blockbuster A-Z series. Early on Easter Monday proved an excellent time to do so as, away from SH1, there was just nobody around. On way home the traffic was heavy heading south out of Dunedin. Apparently some second-rate musician had done a few concerts over the weekend in town, which generated a few visitors. All 26 A-Z caches found, plus another at Kaihiku Falls. All the side-roads were pretty much new to me so that was a bonus. Apologies to the CO for the generic cut and paste logs for most of the series but when you're "speed-caching" the whole thing becomes a bit of a blur. Thoroughly enjoyable outing. TFTC.
Coming home from being on business. Thought be a great chance to get these new caches, TFTC.
I bypassed this one a bit earlier due to the muggles at the shearing shed. As I came back down I thought the coast was clear but as I walked across the road I could hear some guys talking. Don't know what the first one said but the reply was no she's got a camera. Then their conversation continued with their thoughts on freedom campers and how they see people popping into the pines further down the road and back out again. I dutifully took said photos - some standing and some kneeling and then strolled back across the road while their conversation continued! TFTC # 12,024
Great day out caching in the area, lot of neat caches, and interesting spots. many thanks the cache - Bitsprayer
Another stop, another satisfying find, really enjoying being passenger and taking in the countryside.

wow, what a great couple of days to get out and grab some first to finds. i was pretty excited to head out with james and get 2 in the first lot but then at about 3pm when my emails started going nuts i couldn’t believe what was happening! well it made for a long couple of hours before i could finish work and head out and grab them! all of them are in good locations for parking and nice and easy finds. some are in high milk tanker traffic areas though so a little care is required. Thanks natalie for taking the time and effort to put out so many new caches in the area. (even if 2 were very close to where i have been way pointing for a couple myself!) . Keep up the fantastic work, The Roaming Hywards
