Found with my nephew while he was visiting during school holidays. Quick, easy find.
I had unfinished business with this one.
Incidentally, did Little River get a cell tower? I’ve never had such good reception here!

Day #8 of my 11 day holiday and in Akaroa for the week.
Heading back to Christchurch for the weekend so a few stops along the way...of course!!! Sweltering in the heat of 28° so stopped at Little River for a rest and a bit of exploring. Nice quick find here with no one around TFTC

This took us a very long time, but we persevered given that it was found yesterday. After a thorough search of all likely places, and 2 or 3 passes, the cache was spotted very high. Well, we are sure that's not where it was meant to be. Above GL but not a tree climb! We relocated it to a very obvious spot, that is above GL but accessible - with a stone on top. We are sure the next finders will have a much easier job than we did. TFTC!
Found on the ground, water logged after storm, replacing not at ground level
Rolled out of place and after 10 minutes of hair pulling just about gave up then the team read the old comments and with group determination and thinking where it would roll too we found it! Thanks back in its spot now! Cheers and thanks team
20 October 2021 14:32. GSEL 'took one for the team' and went to find this one white I stayed in the car, hoping no-one would want to pass. TFTC, number 10183 for me.
#9996. Today was the beginning of another South Island road trip. This time the plan was to pick up the new geotour caches on Banks Peninsula before heading over to the West Coast. We also have a lot of Adventure Labs to target in far flung towns during the trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret to work on a lot of mutually interesting caches and share the costs of a rental car. We stopped at Little River to do the Adventure Lab and grab a cup of coffee at the cafe. After the refreshments we headed off the main road to find this cache. IF saw the wet muddy drain and decided it was my turn to cross the ditch and pick this one up. With a hop, step and a jump I was over the moat. The cache was spied immediately. Signed and replaced where found. Thanks richbritty for hiding this cache here.
Given where I parked I was pleased to spot the cache as soon as I got to GZ. I do like quiet country roads like this one.
Sunday and the last day of my mum's weekend away. I had a fantastic weekend with friends and even got some geocaching in around eating, chatting, and just relaxing. All good things must come, even this lovely tree lined road but not before finding one more cache.
A drove slowly from the previous cache as there was a cyclist coming along the road and I didn't want to get so far ahead of him that he would be passing me when I was in the midst of hunting. It worked out well and I soon had the area to myself. I much prefer using my GPSr to cache rather than my phone but I didn't load them properly and so had to resort to the phone. It didn't want to settle at all even though I walked back and forward between the two trees. So nothing for it but to search both trees and then both trees again before almost giving up. Then I turned around and stood in a slightly different spot and wondered how I hadn't seen it earlier. Wow I made that harder than it needed to be.
Thanks for the nice detour along this country road. I saved the one up the hill for when I had better walking shoes on. I love the area so will no doubt be back one day.
Thanks for the cache.

Beautiful sunny day for biking the rail trail to Little River. And of course collecting a few smileys as we go.. Cache is all good. TFTC
We looked there in a little hole and looked again and found it . Thanks Niamh and helen

Oh, I had the full "woody experience". Climbed all through both of the trees, ransacked around in the leaf litter; almost gave up in the end. But ultimately found the cache in a hidey hole that I had already searched at the start.

Out for a days caching and exploring this area. Which woody could it be? not the first one we tried lol. A very clever hide, happy to sign this log. Thanks for this cache richbritty.
Team BOP on another crazy mission to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury’s many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.
So it's Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission and today we're here having a wander around Akaroa. This cache took much longer to find then I should have - got there in the end though. We enjoyed our time trying to clear Little River, cheers richbritty & TFTC

With the Mega Covid cancelled this year a part of Team BoP decided to come south and try get all our solved puzzles, and some others along the way. So here we are!
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

As Auckland Mega has been postponed we decided to do a trip south to Christchurch. Four of us from Team BOP joined up to share a car and accomodation. I always love these weekends as the company is great and makes our days and nights out caching lots of fun. We have done lots of puzzles in preparation and did some long windy roads to get them. Found lots of great caches and thanks to all the COs for the effort that goes into these Please excuse the copied logs and I will try to make some individual notes on as many as I can This sort of trip is where I find the cachly app very valuable. With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
After the police moved us on from McLeans Island, we decided to head south-east. There are lots of interesting caches to visit in the area, including a puzzle trail, Canterbury CANZ and the Little River Ad Lab... We stopped for this hide along the way. A straightforward find - Thanks richbritty and TFTC.

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

Found with TharntheHalken on a wet morning when park'n'grabs are the order of the day! Tftc!
JD and I had a fun day out geocaching around Birdling's Flat and Little River. A quick stop here and spotted the woody ones. Checked one but soon spotted it in the other. Tftc from team Jeje.
Injeanious and I were having an afternoon of exploring around Little River today. We enjoyed rock fossicking at Birdlings Flat and stopped for some yummy food at the Little River cafe and gallery whilst also picking up some geocaches. TFTC!
The last cache found in a series along this road. We really enjoyed our walk along here today. Thanks so much for this great series of caches richbritty!
Container , logbook ... Going next...

Found this cache with mum while we were out caching for the day / at the event - I just never remembered to log it, and it wasn't till I was looking at the map that I went, wait a minute!!
So yes, found this with mum on a pretty yuck weather day haha.
TFTC!!

The weather was not ideal for caching, but since we already made it all the way to Lincoln for the event, we were almost here, and we decided to stop for a few around here. Container at gl, and it was not very clear where it came from, so replaced as found. Ma need to be checked. TFTC!!
Had a great weekend in Canterbury with a bit of time to grab the odd cache. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
A quick find by our 6 year old while doing a cache tour of Little River. Tftc
Out with the family geocaching and found by geopom and Mr & Mrs Graemey after returning from a trip to TFTC-Nice Hide.
Nice easy find in a very welcome shady place. Cache safe and dry. TFTH and showing me this road.

For a few days we are staying at Little River, because the campsite here is a lovely place to be. This day we visited the village. We made a short bike tour through and around the place and also found a few caches. Had a good time.
Thank you for placing this cache!

From the coast we had back towards Zara but with time still up our sleeve a few more to check out along our way. Stopped off here to snag this one. Narrow neck syndrome and a large bag were creating havoc so replaced with a smaller bag to help it along. Cheers
Its Sunday - day five - Little River - Blenheim - Picton. Lets go exploring.
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

The woody experience. and the cobwebby in hair experience. Cache has a major case of narrow neck syndrome. Log was ripped, bag destroyed. No surprise. The dragon replaced both, but of course that does not fix narrow neck syndrome.
Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). A couple of days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a day in Lyttelton and couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry.

A short walk after a delicious dinner from the food truck and also a nice cache at the evening !

Beeba stayed in the car as we were not exactly parked and 1066 found the cache quickly so that we didn't cause problems with other cars. We would never get away with that in England, there would always by a car trying to get passed.
