We are staying in a nearby caravan spot for a couple of nights. Plan was to explore a few of the cycle trails on this side of the city and link them up to make a 2hr ish circuit.Due to todays rain and looking pretty grey - its pretty quiet so I had no trouble with getting muggled along the way.A bit overgrown on one side of this trail but no worries with the other side.Great smooth path for me all the way back to kaiapoi - only problem is my phone battery is low so not completing the whole trail today.TFTC
I had the day off work and it was a beautiful winters day. I decided walking the Passchendaele path would make a nice day trip. It was easy enough to find the caches along here between the cyclists going past. I was very pleased that there were no DNFs today. Thanks
Yes, we’ve found the last and 26th cache in the series. Thanks for the hard work and the beautiful cache trail. TFTC, TFTT (Thanks For The Trail)
I need 24 caches to finish the challenge of 100 caches in April so today we are biking from Kaiapoi to Rangiora to see if we can finally achieve this. And this is it. We made to it 100 for April with this find. So glad I have spent the last week in Christchurch so that Beeba and I could geocache every day. 1066 has to travel 150 km in order to find any geocaches they haven't found, not counting the ones up mountains. Soooo pleased with ourselves!!! Thank you to Bald Ed for placing the caches on this excellent bike trail and for maintaining the geocaches. A favourite point for this power trail. It took us 2 hours to complete from 2 to 26 then we sat and had some lunch before biking back to the car in Kaiapoi in 25 mins.
I think it was this one that took a while, as the long grass had covered it over. Almost tempted to 'moneydork' it, but resisted. TFTC.

The rains seems to have moved some of these a fair way but have tried to return them as accurate as possible

We both decided to take a small break from work and do some caching. Weather was not that great throughout the day, still it was fun. TFTC

This looked like a nice trail to ride , but probably shouldn't have done it on a sunny sunday as it was a constant stream of muggles coming from both directions. I spent more time pretending to be on my phone than actually riding the bike
Thanks for setting this great trail up

A stroll along part of the Passchendaele Memorial Path. Most caches were a pause and grab, missed a couple but shall return another day; TFTC
Need some more night caches. In the drizzle. Number 7. My last on this trail. Thanks for the caches.
It was a while ago when I signed off most of this series so I thought it was about time that I finished it. I had parked the cachemobile in Rangiora and walked down to them.
I just about needed my gumboots on to be able to reach this one.
Cheers for the cache, bro

Went for a bike this morning along this path way. Was pleased with 100% success as simple cache hides are normally my downfall!
There was a single walker in front of me. With me stopping every 200 or so meters to sign a cache I made the same time as her.

Fishing at the Waimak looked a bit dicey so as a backup I loaded my bike and GPS. Sure enough it was discoloured so I decided to do some Geocaching instead. The Passchendaele had been on my radar for some time so today was perfect not too hot or cold. It's on a very good path all the way to Rangiora and I was pleased to see it's a well used path, plenty of muggles about! TFTC.
Found with NZDi. It is Waitangi Weekend and NZDi decides she wants to spend a few days in Christchurch to do some retail therapy. A couple of our grandchildren have birthdays coming up and she can't find anything suitable in the local stores in Blenheim and is hoping the big city has a better selection. The plan is to travel south on Friday caching along SH 1, do the shopping on Saturday morning and cache out at the McLeans Island MTB park in the afternoon, then head home on Sunday with a detour to cache the K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path between Kaiapoi and Rangiora (I guess that is what K2R stands for). Throughout the weekend we dated and signed our logs in full, as KM + ND or a combination of both depending on the room available on the sheet/book.
Today is day three of the trip and we are on our way home after attending a disappointing Riccarton Market. I don't usually do full copy and paste logs when geocaching, but this time I am going to make an exception because all of the caches we found today were pretty much the same and when doing a power trail or similar cache run like this one cache runs into the next and it is really hard to write something special about each, (I know I said this yesterday when I did the McLeans Island MTB park, but I managed to write a few individual lines specific to each cache. However this is totally different as all these are by the same owner and are pretty much completely identical in what i have to say. I did send a 'Write Note' at the time when one cache had a full log.
The following applies to all the K2R caches found on this trail. Firstly it was a surprise to discover the trail is sealed all the way, we weren't expecting that, although it was intimated when you read it is 'smooth' on the cache description. Secondly, it was great to find a series af caches where all the coordinates and all the hints were accurate. Thirdly it was great to find all the caches well maintained. What this resulted in was the quickest 26 finds we have made by far. I took us 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes) to find all caches on our mountain bikes. Then it took us 25 minutes to get back to the geomobile. Not once did I have to take my smart phone from its cradle on the handle bars of the bike to narrow down GZ. It is power trails like this that make it easy to see how some cacher can get hundreds if not over a thousand finds in a day

Many thanks for a great caching trail. Great to get the numbers up after a slow 2020. TFTC
We really enjoyed biking the path today and the council have made a great job of providing such and easy track to bike along. We stopped here for our light lunch after finding the cache of course. The return trip was much faster with only one stop - to see if we could find #3 which we couldn't.
A favourite point for the series which we did on a sunny da y although with enough wind for us to appreciate the e bikes.

In a few hours the country will change to to Covid19 Alert Level 2 so the cache has been enabled in readiness. Stay safe. Use hand sanitizer.
Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I am doing my bit to slow the spread. I will not be accepting any Found logs on any of my geocaches for the period of the Level 4 Alert.
Please do not embarrass yourself, your hobby and your country by thinking that geocaching is essential - it is not.
STAY HOME. STAY SAFE.

I set out on the bike this afternoon to pick up some or all of the small number of caches I hadn’t already located along this trail. After starting with two DNFs it was good to get this one under my belt. Still took a brief moment to spot! The other four were all reasonably quick finds. #3054. TFTC.
JDScout and I stayed at Spencer park in our camper van. We decided to do this bike ride today. We enjoyed the strong tail wind getting to this one. Thanks BaldEd for placing this geocache 7956 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Heading north this afternoon with some time in hand and my bike in the back of the vehicle so I decided to see if I could clean up this new series which has been placed since I last cached in this area. No problems here, a quick find. Signed log, TFTC.
The last cache on my ride, this is the sort of bike trail I like, flat and smooth. Picked up a TB and left another in its place. A favourite for the trail. Thanks BaldEd

In Christchurch for our grandson's second birthday, another early morning start to find some caches in this area. Enjoyed walking along the top end of this track. A FP for this series. Thanks BaldEd for the cache.
This is day six of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter there so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University. My ‘regular’ motel was booked, so I had to stay at a rundown dive with a tiny bed in a tiny room.
I am doing the series on foot, so I moved my car whenever I could to minimize walking. There were a few muggles, but not enough to slow down my progress. TFTC.

My monthly tally was looking pretty low for Feb so far, and so I was looking for a power trail and remembered this one in Rangiora. Warm weather. I got the bike out and found 13 caches. All of them in quick finds, logs in good condition. Sorry for the cut and paste log. Thanks for all of these caches Bald Ed.
Made it. +And this one is tagged. Cheers. Just a bit more cycling to go.
Its Thursday - day two - Rangiora - Lyttleton today. K2R cycle trail in our sights today. We drop of Toby in Southbrook and leave Zara at Kaiapoi to await our return. Its peddle power with Jill today along this great cycle track
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

The series here deserve a favourite, and this cache is bigger than the rest, and nice and dry too. So I swapped TBs and dropped the favourite in.

There it is, the end of the trail! Quite wet and slushy around here.
I'll go and add the Passchendaele path to OSM now too.
OUT - [Mr. Zombie Travel Tag](https://coord.info/TB7KJC3)
We spent good 9 hours out today, geocaching on bicycles and trying to burn all of those cakes and turkey eaten on Christmas day. From those, 3 hours on the Passchendaele Path picking up the geoseries. Probably the slowest 7.5km cycled ever.
But no, I don't think it would have been faster on foot.
The whole day's tracklog and stats are [here on Endomondo](https://www.endomondo.com/users/10209103/workouts/1245682128)
A total of 39 geocaches and 70km cycled.

Needed a few caches before going home. I walked part of the trail. Will do rest at a later date. Dropped off 2 tbs here
In Christchurch for a few days so decided to cycle the pathway and grab a few caches. A fav for the series from us. TFTC
Had done all bar this one earlier in the year and at that time the large amount of water nearby put me off. Easy today though. Thanks for the hide. #3197
Parked in Fernside Rd and went for refreshing walk to find numbers 20 to 26. I'm enjoying this trail. TFTC
Cache 7852. Iris was out to lunch with friends. The weather was terrible and predicted to get worse. There was only one possible thing for me to do - get out the bike and do a Bald Ed geocaching trail! I started in the middle and worked my way towards Rangiora, so this was number thirteen for the afternoon and time to turn around and bike back to the van for a snack before doing the other half of the trail. This cache took a little while to reach because of flooding after recent heavy rain. In the end I just decided to get my feet wet! Thanks. Rodney.
I left my car in Kaiapoi and walked to the outskirts of Rangiora and then back again. I was the only person walking as everyone else were on bikes plus there was one person on rollerblades. I walked 17km so I was rather tired when I got home. This cache was a quick find and my last for the day. It then took me an hour and a half to walk back to my car where I stopped for a snack at Coffee Culture. I really enjoyed my walk.
StreetWalker and I needed some finds to day to increase our find count for 11th August, so we combined a visit to family in Rangiora with some caching in the area.
As I approached, I could see SW yo-yo from one side of the path to the other, but he had the cache in hand before I got there. End of the path for us today, leaving another wee segment of the trail for another day. Thanks Eddie, appreciate this series. TFTC.

#16011. I overtook Troodles at #25, and had a decent lead by the time I got here. Looked on the wrong side of the path to start with, but then switched sides and made a quick find. Good to find a (somewhat) larger container. This was our turnaround point, so after doing the paper work we headed back (into the chilly easterly) to Fernside Rd. That leaves just 6 more K2R's (we'll keep them for another calendarically challenged day). TFTC.
Out with Monson.clan for a fun day. I'm wanting to get my July stats up- so today we thought we would try to knock this series off. Great start- tftc
A sunny winters day and perfect for a long walk down the cycleway. A quick find thanks to accurate co-ords and the hint.
SJT_NZ were down visiting family and with hidden creature souvies up for grabs we tapped into some local knowledge for some top tips on power trails. We headed out early and came back to this one at the end of the trail, a lovely walk, there were quite a few users on the trail and all caches were in good condition. Thanks BaldEd for putting the trail together.
Tregearp and I were in town for three days and had managed to catch up on most of our family commitments and were in desperate need of some numbers for the 'Turtle'. Although this power trail wouldn't complete the task - it was exactly what we needed for some numbers quickly.
The day was pretty crap actually compared with the last two days of clear skies and sunshine, but at least the rain had fended off the heavy frosts. Despite the rain we headed off and were pleased to get the complete trail of 26/26. All in good order - although we did find one log without a plastic bag which we added.
Great to find a power trail so well maintained - thanks BaldEd for all 26 of the caches.

This was the second objective for the day. We unloaded our bikes after parking on the street recommended by the CO. A DNF on a nearby cache, but once we got into this series we had no such issues. A straightforward ride to Rangiora on a clear day, caches 4, 7 and 10 were skipped due to oncoming muggles but easily found on the return journey. Thanks for this series BaldEd, all caches fine.
Our day went something like this. Left Blenheim just before 5am. First cache found around 9.15am (yes, it was a slowish drive down). Children's Name series done, Passchendaele trail started at 12pm. Lunch, then the Eclipse tins and a few extras out past Yaldhurst. Last cache found with the sun just below the horizon. 101 for the day, easily a record for Jo and I. Hidden creature challenge achieved, as well as a few other milestones (100+ Gracie7 + Mum caches included). TFTC to all COs, sorry about the cut and paste. Anything of importance pertaining to individual caches is at the start, but no wet logs - just a few DNFs. All logs signed 'R + J'.

On a work trip to Christchurch for a couple of days. Today I had some spare time to go off and find some caches. And to reveal some Hidden Creatures. I decided that this trail of caches would be a great place to start. I don't usually like copy / paste logs but sometimes make exceptions for 'power trails'. I had a good time walking this one. Started somewhere in the middle, walked nearly to the start. Drove a bit where I could, then parked and walked a bit more. I found all the caches that I looked for which was a bonus. A great day for it too. The terrain was a bit more tricky for this cache. I worked out a way to get to GZ without getting too wet. So no problems with the cache once I was safely in position to reach it. No geocoin in the cache though. The CO should mark this as missing. Last cache in this series for me today. Thanks for all the fun, a good excuse for a leg stretch and TFTC, Biggles.
Out for a cache finding mission with Mr Cuddly Brick. Signed as 2CB today. Thanks for the cache.

Went out for a bit of a quick early morning caching trip with mum & baby.
I had pretty much found almost all these ones, I only had 2 remaining! But baby loves going for walks so we tagged along. Although usually, Bethany was up off running ahead, and I was chasing her down the path or down a bank or whatever! So we just left mum to do her finding!
This one I wasn't wearing suitable footwear... and Bethanys wasn't going to do the trick no matter how much she wanted it to!! But I said to mum we weren't allowed to leave with this one! So she sacrificed herself & went for it!!
Nice to have these all done now!!
