Find # 8,785 for me on 1 Apr 2024 at 2:58pm. Our last day in Canberra has arrived so we're looking for the special caches we've heard about, and anything else we come across in our travels. We decided to ride our bikes around this section of the lake. Found by eagle-eyed PamJ while I was getting off my bike. Thanks The Farmers 5, for giving back to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. After finishing up the mega event festivities I C Nothing and I were still up for a spot of caching so talked Lachlan1.77, Leg5 & Barnzy12 into joining us and we made our way back into the city in an attempt to get as many central caches as we could before the end of the weekend and a return to normal life beckons. On a quiet night in Canberra we combined between walking and driving to caches and by the time we returned to our accommodation had managed to collect a tidy sum of 21 finds and starting to rest before an early morning event to kick off Monday. Thanks The Farmers 5 for placing Rain Pools for me and others to find.I added my name to the log on 31/3/2024.This is find number 8769 for me.

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WA to save space, abbreviation for our team from Western Australia. Cheers The Farmers 5! Big GrinJoin us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

22-Mar-22
I had already wasted a couple of hours on two DNFs (caches are not there anymore) so was adamant that I wanted to find this. It wasn't easy as it was now dark and there were lots of hiding places. Add to that quite a few mozzies and being hangry (I thought I'd get a quick cache after work), I was very relieved when I found it.

TFTC and bringing me to this cool sculpture.

12-Oct-21
Out and about on a lunchtime bike ride. My partner had said that he often rides over here, and calls friends and family while e enjoys the beautiful spot. Knowing there was a cache here, I decided to check out the area. It was indeed stunning, a great view of the lake and a planted out well. After a bit of circling, I found something suspicious. The hunch was correct, as the cache was attached. I sat down on a nearby chair to sign, glad that I'd found the cache and that I had the area to myself. I rode back the way I came, to avoid an aggressive magpie at Bowen Park. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5!

02-Jan-21
Found on a loop of the east basin. Busy choking sand spluttering on the water I tried to breathe instead of drink (don't try it) so my mate found it instead. Looked like a nice spot once my eyes stopped watering.

20-Dec-20
An very early event, lauding in the day to try for 11 caches types. So between packing and organizing and going to the scheduled 3 event of the day I found al the relevant cache types.

Since I was down here for the event I took a stroll over to this one a really nice camo in a nice spot!!

Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

E E E E EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE [Found!] at 1:34pm! Big Grin

Caching day has commenced, on the attempt to smash a previous record of 18 caches in a day we got up bright and early to start! We got a lot of places today! So wake up at 7:00 and GO!

This cache was fairly easy. I had a feeling that farmers 5 might hide the cache elsewhere but no. We just found it where we thought it might be. Wasn't too hard but I do love this place. Had to dodge all the sprinklers. Finally found and signed. TFTC The Farmers 5!!!

Found during a day of caching that started with a walk around the Canberra City centre, along the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin, across the Commonwealth Avenue bridge, spending most of the day in the Parliamentary Triangle before heading back across Kings Bridge and down to the Airport. Luckily it was a relatively quick find here, even though a very tricky and challenging hide. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5!

Fine spot. Ta.

20-Oct-19
Today was a perfect Sunday, so, after a picnic in the park, we collected the Geohound and set off to see a part of Canberra we had never cached in before, and, we saw fabulous views, lots of history, weird art, the lake, and plenty of people out enjoying the fine weather.

After doing Mt Pleasant, and the Duntroon Diary, we headed across moreshead drive to the lake side, and grabbed the three caches there.

This Cache looked like it could be tricky, but my caching partner zeroed in on it instantly with her six sense for these types of caches. We paused for a few moments in the shade and enjoyed the views, then headed up the hill to the day's biggest challenge.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache The Farmers 5.

10-Oct-19
At Russell for work today. Took a lunchtime stroll to grab this one. Thanks Farmers 5.

24-Aug-19
Only three entries left in the log Smile

02-Jul-19
A short stroll from the car park, I found a great little spot to sit and relax. Pity the weather was so damn cold that relaxing was not an option... Surprised

I got lucky in the hunt and pulled the container from the first place I looked. Another bonus as the temps dropped around me. Name was quickly added to the log and the cache tucked back. I headed off to the other nearby cache but was muggled out. Twisted

Cheers Farmers 5.

Miz Wacket, steelpaw are visiting for the Mega event in Queanbeyan. The Ridgeopup and I took them for a tour of the lakeside caches on a perfect Canberra Autumn day.
After trying a few places we finally came up with the cache. Nice camo and a pretty spot which probably carries some strong emotions for many visitors.

Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5

We came here with my aunt and uncle (Domsky) and signed this last time they were here ( May 2018). It was my little sister who found the cache!
We are logging this today, since we signed it last year before we had our own official account.
Thank you,
Domsky

14-Apr-19
The second cache we were going to search for on our bike ride but with a group enjoying GZ, this wasn't going to be the time. So on our way back with the late afternoon cool drifting in, the little nook was free. Knew by the CO this wasn't going to be a simple hide but this time we got lucky and found it quickly. TFTC The Farmers 5.

This is a world of possibilities! Being an accountant maybe helps with being methodical, so it wasn't too long a search. Googlasaurus loved poking & prodding with my TOTT. Great hide & views! TFTC.

No luck for me today - I spent some time poking around before deciding my time was up. Maybe next time.
