Sunday funday! We got up early and headed to Jordon Springs for breakfast. It was quite nice and one of the yummiest mochas I have had in a while. After that we met up with our friends (fitzy_1965, minniek, Joolay, contesta, Flintstones, Aquilus1 and sacada) to cache up to Katoomba and back. The day had its good points and bad:Good - great company, fabulous views, amazing places, finding caches and fantastic food. Bad - too many muggles, AL and Geocaching App meltdown. So frustrating! We found a handful of caches and got back to Penrith for an awesome dinner at Ros Niyom which was so delicious and the staff amazingly attentive. Not hard though, as we were the only ones there - everyone else was probably watching the NRL Penrith v Storm (Penrith won). We did a few caches on the way home after dinner before the roads got busy with very happy residents. This cache: Took a bit as the coords had us spinning, its hidden in plain sight and the top tighter than expected. But all good. A dozen people and I was the lucky one with the right finger. Tftc!!!
A cache trip to Penrith and the Blue Mountains with a large group from Canberra, signing with CPI24. A number of caches planned and others added on the fly. A fun group outing on a beautiful spring weather day. This cache: A quick find after a great nearby Thai dinner. A nice spot for a cache. And a great idea for a cache at this spot. Thank you Bushfire for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and youban and a bunch of other Canberra invaders! Signed CPI Canberra Penrith invasion! on a caching invasion of Penrith! Thanks The Booos!
Out after dinner with the Canberra Penrith Invasion group from the ACT prowling around in search of cachers this one was found and signed as CPI24. Kutgw
Find # 129026/10/2024 Caching adventures continue in Day 2 of the long weekend. Ticking off some of the Katoomba caches as well as many on the solved ones around Penrith as we can. Fabulous weather for caching, and great to get some warmth too! this is one such cache, found and signed CPI24! for Canberra Penrith Invaders - consisting of Joolay, Tankengine, dty73, Youban, Sacada, Flintstones, minniek, Aquillis, and Fitzy65. All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks The Booos for GLENMORE LOCH #1 H2O
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC. The second day of caching Penrith with the Canberra mob (CPI24). Today was a trip to Katoomba in the blue mountains finding many old and interesting caches.Lots of great treks with fantastic views.Final dinner was not at the Panthers club with the grand final on tonight. An excellent puzzle once we figured out where it was.
Geocaching with SurdiVisio. We were here a week ago. Try again today, and found the hidden spot. Happy to celebrate my 500th find today. Favourite point.
After tennis for Graubunden, lets geocache together. Taking it easy today with a few finds or DNFs. Worn out from yesterday, having delivered an AuslanX talk about Geocaching - the Science of Discovery. At University of Sydney, one of 1000+ events all over the country: celebrating National Science Week. Catching up with many muggles. We couldnt find a specific tree geocache elsewhere in Sydney today. On our first visit here - we had our hands on everything, including this hidden outer camouflage. Wife reached out to the current cache owner, oh! Happy to celebrate the 500th geofind of Graubunden (mostly from late Feb 2024). TFTC The Booos with a FP for Bushfire, the creator
Didn’t bring the required tools but easy enough to improvise. Wasn’t too difficult by myself, I knew the task on hand, just needed to keep on plan. Not long after, the cache revealed itself. These types of caches are always good fun. TFTC.
Found quickly and then went for a walk to get what was needed . Had to be super quick as it’s a busy little path with lots of muggles . Thanks for the fun cache . Tnln replaced as found sl
I placed this guy back on 18th Feb 2018 but as we all know that time changes and it has got to the stage that I have to either adopt my caches out or archive as I have a health problem that is only going to get worse.
Finally, I must thank my good friends the Booos for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands.
Finally I will give it a F.P as it was my first cache in this area.

Day 3 of our adventure around Penrith.
fitzy_1965 and I continued our jaunt around the area with our friends from Canberra. Signed all logs as CDI23 unless otherwise mentioned.
Today's target was the pre-solved PGA series and others along the way before heading home. The puzzles were enjoyable but some had us scratching our heads too.
Thanks to the CO's for placement.

Last day on our adventure with the CDI-23 (Canberra Day Invasion-23) crew. Its been a great weekend.
Rain forecast and proved true but we cached on wanting to get as many as we could in the time we had. Definitely have to come back. Really sorry for the generic log as time keeps getting away from me. Really enjoyed the drive around and the lovely views, and really nice to be beside the river. The views I had of it were lovely and some great parks. First time really driving around and looking rather than driving through. Some we found, some we did not find as they were sneaky and tricky. Those we will have to come back for.
Thanks for getting me out and about Bushfire

Picton & Penrith Canberra Day weekend Invasion. Day 4. Today was caching in and around Penrith mainly targeting the PGA caches. Today the group was made up of Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Barb2e, Isopeda and Smitten Granny. The group signed CDI23 the same as yesterday. The day was raining on and off all day and that made dome of the walking caches a bit of a challenge, but we managed the WIGs and even a few other local caches. We had a late lunch and worked out what was left to do before breaking up for the trip home for some and for me, I headed to Strathfield for the night doing two counties along the way leaving nine more for the next day. It was a great trip and so many of the caches and puzzles were interesting and tough challenges. I know I will be back to visit the are again !

Signed as CDI - Canberra Day Invasion. isopeda, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, fitzy_1965, Joolay, MinnieK, Contesta, Smittengranny. Day three of the long weekend (Canberra Day) of caching. We had solved the puzzles in the weeks and months before this trip, ALs, multis and some of the Wherigos were done at location of course.
Sorry about the generic logs - logging after days of crazy driving and navigating with not much time between the caches.
This was fun.

30,174. Found during an invasion of the 'Bargo up to Penrith' region on the Canberra Day long weekend with a great bunch of Cachers.
With the Canberra Day long weekend upon us, a number of Canberra region Cachers performed an invasion of the Bargo up to Penrith area. Canberra Day Invasion 2023 (signed as CDI23) consisted of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, albida33, smittengranny and myself. Day 3. An early-ish start soon had us on the road grabbing more caches. This was a fun field puzzle which we used a slightly different TOTT to most for the find. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on the list.
Thanks Bushfire and The Booos !!

Day 3of the Canberra Day Invasion 2023 by a great group of friends as we hunted down caches in both the Picton then Penrith areas. Thanks to all COs for their contributions to our great game that gets us out exploring various parts of our country.
The puzzles and wherigos were solved before we left home with varying degrees of success. All caches that were found were signed as CDI23.

Some urban caching in tbe rain this morning with the group from Canberra. Found and signed as CDI23. Tftc
I scratched my head for a while, looking for this and wondering if there was puzzle I'd missed, before the penny dropped. Brilliant! Although I'd come fully prepared for hydraulics, I opted for a dry retrieval, because I could and I figured it was less risky for the precious cargo. As it happened, the log bag wasn't actually sealed. Signed, sealed and delivered back to its clever spot. Worth a fave, not just for the method. Thanks Bushfire.
Truth be told - this is the 3rd time I have attempted this cache! The first time, probably more than a year ago, I approached GZ with GGCoconut in the pouring rain. We managed to locate the 'accessory' where indicated but not the actual 'cache camo'. Bummer! The second time on my own, I managed to spot something I hadn't on the previous occasion. Could it be? A careful examination with a TOTT and oh yes! I think this could be it! But where's that accessory item? Gone! And I hadn't brought one of my own! Blast! Serves me right! Today I brought my own plus thankfully located a 2nd. Now with all the necessary 'ingredients' I set to work. Made a rookie mistake the first time round, but the second time was the charm and I was rewarded with cache in hand! Thanks so much for truly fun and excellent cache! Will award a FP as soon as I have one available! I did notice there is a crack in the lid, but this doesn't appear to be affecting the cache or the log at present - future finders will perhaps just need to be careful to make sure the baggy is sealed properly.
Tftc - Very cool, second one like this we have found. There should be a lot more of these type of caches around. Fav point from me.
Where we first suspected it to be, but so many passers-by meant this took a long while to retrieve.
Had a few hours to spare today while we were in Penrith, so I headed to Glenmore Park to grab the replacement caches in the GPP series ... and figured it was timely to have a look at the hides in this series while I was here.
I had no expectations of being able to do this as I had not come prepared, but was pleased to find the required TOTT near GZ, and so had no problems then in accessing the cache. Thanks for a nice hide Bushfire.

Can be very tricky but certainly not impossible to do it by yourself. Got a bit wet changing bottles while completing the process but even after a bit of wasted water, I just had enough. Fantastic placement putting it where you did. TFTC
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Emu Plains for a short 4 day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains, and are planning to explore the areas around Emu Plains, Penrith, Glenmore Park, Cranebrook, Castlereagh, Lapstone, Glenbrook, and Blaxland. Will be concentrating our efforts on collecting the Glenmore Park Puzzle GeoArt and the Puzzled Hearts GeoArt caches, all of which we had solved before leaving home, and also hoping to complete the local Adventure Labs along the way. This was our 9th find of the day, and 109th find of the holiday.
Well we knew exactly what was required for this cache, as we have one of it's type in our own cache portfolio, and so we came prepared with two litres. Arrived at GZ and spotted the likely candidates, confirming the correct one before proceeding to retrieve the log. TNLNSL, and then replaced (reset) as found. TFTC Bushfire.

Another outing with Bonfire7 and 154Crows. Today we completed the Quakers Star, GPP and WACCO series' among other targeted caches. A successful day outdoors totalling 60+ finds! Thanks For The Caches
Arriving at GZ with much more H2O then needed we found the cache container got to work and soon had the cache, these hides are always alot of fun!
Thanks bushfire for the cache
Thanks bushfire for the cache
We came along here with ilook4geo and were well prepared with plenty of the necessary liquid, so didn't need the back up supplied. We did have a lot of difficulty getting to the inner container and definitely needed a helpful tool from the geo car boot to be able to do this. After that there was no problem as exit points were limited. Loved the appropriate name on the inner container. All was put back as found when we had signed the log and was replaced for the next cacher to find. Thank you to Bushfire for this placing this type of cache, which is always fun to do.
Had some fun here with goingplaces2, but it was very hard to get into. Eventually managed it. TFTC.

I headed out this way this afternoon to grab this cache. Ive found a number of this type and have always enjoyed them but ive got to say the camo used for this one was especially good.
When I initially reached the GZ and began my search i tried the hiding spot but was unable to get in so didnt realise i had had my hand in the cache.
It wasn’t until i read crash2079’s comment that i went back and did it properly.
I thankfully keep the requisite extraction TOTT in my car and soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks.

I always carry a 3L container of water in the boot along with a collection of TOTTS. So you can imagine my surprise of not finding it after parking nearby. Oh well, I might as well check out what I'm in for. Had an idea of the container but lack of movement made me keep looking. Also had no luck finding the stashed water receptacle. After reading a few logs, my first thought was correct and after some gentle persuasion, the scene before me was looking more familiar. The area was actually quite clean, so I ventured to the skate park and found three 600ml bottles (without hose attachment) that would do the trick. Conveniently filled them on the way back to gz, performed the required deed, signed the log and replaced everything as found (except for the empty bottles which I took with me). A fun experience all round although I'm now running a little bit late for the nearby event.

We stayed in Penrith overnight to target the Glenmore Loch series today. With sunny weather we made our way around the local parks finding the best parking positions to get as close as possible to each cache.
We came armed with our H2O which turned out to be just enough but first we had to find the cache holder. I suggested something but the other Triton dismissed it but on further search we decided there was nothing else that it could be. So with the help of a tool we managed to gain access and start pouring the water in. With a good catch the logbook holder was in our greedy hands before we let the water disperse naturally.
Cheers Bushfire for another fun cache , a favourite point added.

Time for another day chasing mint tins with marj01. With a predawn start we headed from the eastern suburbs out west to Penrith. We started caching at Wallacia and made our way north through the suburbs to Jordan Springs. We had lots of finds which included trads, multis and mysteries; also some dnfs that were too well hidden for us to find or weren't there. I lost count on the number of mint tins found but there certainly wasn't an oversupply. Thanks to all the CO's for placing their caches and TFTC
Came out for a cache run around Glenmore Park today and found a couple more caches in the Loch series. Park nearby and made our way to GZ. Took several attempts to gain access, but once there we made quick work of locating the log. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Bushfire.

#2698 this was the hardest of the lot to get my hand on the cache. Parked the car at the shops and walked to GZ . Found the spot I needed to get the cache but couldn't remove the end cap that I needed to add the H2O so back to the car read a few logs found I was right spot so back with my water too many people kept walking passed so returned to the car. Went to try some other caches found 3 before returning. I parked closer this time got the cap to move a bit but still couldn't get it to come off. Started to think I was going to need a gentle persuader to get the cap off but my fourth attempt was successful took a little less than 1.5 l to float the cache took it to the nearby rocks to sign the log with Sir_Phil.
With cache in hand we signed the log and I removed the plug & returned the cache back in it's hide. I replaced the cap to the end. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Bushfire

Having just found the CO's new puzzle as we were in the area it was time to knock this one off. We had a little bit of trouble spotting the hide as the top camo was stuck (all fixed now). Plenty of rubbish bit no helping container but we had our own and made use of the supplies near by. Manage to find a break in the muggles and completed the signing duties before replacing. TFTC
Busy place indeed, had to wait to have the location muggle free. managed to grab the H2O and the cache soon appear. Its a shame theres so much rubbish here, a perfect location for a CITO. TFTC
Find number 4226.
We kinda had an idea where the cache was but the initial inspection turned up nothing. So we sent out a call for help and preceded to do some shopping, we got the message that we had been correct and to be a little more forceful in out search.
We returned to GZ began a short lived but forceful search and soon had the cache in hand and the log signed and quickly returned with just a brief pause to allow for a muggle to walk past.
Thanks Bushfire for placing this cache.

After four finds today to keep my calendar happy. And I notice that there are more songs to cache by out west. OK.
Could have gone for five, after finding a traditional masquerading as a puzzle, but decided to keep it for another day.
Curse that rapacious calendar!

Well, pretty obvious what I needed to do, but where is it? MY first thought didn't seem to work, so kept looking.. Nope. So went back to the first one and... oh, it was right, just a little stuck.
Did the necessary after two muggles went past, and soon had CIH.
Took onto a pleasant grassy area to complete signing duties, then back for the replace. Hmmm, if you know, it's easy to spot someone's been here recently.

Team Webguy reported that there was nothing at the listed of this cache and this proved to be correct on my return from the Moresset NSW OZMega.
A wayward car or tractor has demolished my container as I found it about 40m from where it should have been.
Chatting to thomo31 today and she told me it was in place when she drove past about an hour before Team Webguy reported it missing!!!
OK a new location has been set up but it has to be moved by the reviewer as it is more than 161m from the original position.

Cache hiding location is no longer where it used to be, thanks to a run in with a car, or a very BIG lawn mower....

#4513- I was heading to Cranebrook to catch up with my Finnish exchange student I supervise. So I decided to leave earlier, meet thomo31 and do the two new ones. While we opened it ok, it seemed a bit sticky going back on- perhaps the weather. After thomo31 did the holding and let go, I exclaimed ‘ oh no ! Really! Thanks- a fun one.
MrT and I had just spent 4 days at Shellharbour. One of the caches we did was this type! An interesting experience for our first one down there as we didnt know the hole story to it and had to start over again. Today we had only been home an hour when WaywardWoman messaged me to see if I wanted to meet her to look for this one. Luckily our unpacking was done in record time and I was able to head on down. We brought the required "tools" with us and spotted a likely place. Gaining entry was difficult but WW managed it. Retrieved the cache, signed log and returned as found. A fav from me. TFTC

Bikerbuddy & I headed into the City today, and detoured into Glenmore Park for this one on our way down. We figured we knew what to do from reading the cache notes, and came prepared. We parked nearby, made a quick walk over and found an obvious place to experiment on spot on where the phone said to look.
Bikerbuddy handled one end of the operation & I handled the other, together we made a quick retrieval of the cache. Just as I had it in hand, I looked up & saw a dog walking couple going by. We must have looked odd, but they didn't say a thing.
thanks

Toriaz and I didn't have any of the difficulties of a couple of previous finders. We've found a number of caches ike this in the past and knew what we would need to do beforehand. So we brought plenty of what we needed and easily identified the right spot. It was an easy retrieval, too. A man and woman walking a dog happened past just as we achieved the most dramatic precondition to occur for the return of the cache. We must have looked pretty weird to them. Thanks
Looking back on this one, I have to ask myself, "How stupid am I?" I was there three times before I managed to get to the cache, and that was mainly because of a PAF to Dave. I looked for the container, but found nothing...I was looking for a 2L sistema with and "tool" inside! That was my first error. Second, I WAS at GZ for the final find, but something just would not budge. I ended up getting another tool from the car for that...and third, as I sit here logging the find, I see H2O in the title above. Geez...How stupid am I. I can't wait for the local students to get down to do this one. TFTC and a fave point from me.
Parked nearby and walked to GZ first as it was nearby for a reconnaissance mission. I missed the obvious and that affected my first attempt after getting the tool. Second attempt was more successful!?! Luckily I had a pen in my pocket.
