It keeps going missing... time to let it go

23-Sep-24
Logged with permission of the CO. Many thanks.

Cache was missing, after talking to the CO, and searching thoroughly with Brain, EthisEthat and Aykayem (who found the cache previously). We are logging the find with owner permission. A tricky puzzle, that had us chasing rabbits down holes, and stumped for a while. Previous finders set us straight once we ran out of ideas of our own. Thanks GreyHams for a brain bender. The deceptively simple ones are always a pleasure to unravel and understand. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Gave a thorough search with no success. I have been to this cache twice in the past, before caching under my own name. I feel it may be missing.

A clever puzzle that we cottoned on to fairly quickly... and that doesn't happen nearly often enough.Today when we were sitting have lunch by the lake I spotted it on the map and it was going to fit in nicely with our ride. This was another location where we had the place to ourselves so we could search in muggleless peace... a very long search. A lovely location and an enjoyable puzzle, TFTC GreyHams.

Solved in preparation of a road trip. Today I took a leisurely walk and a long search at GZ. TFTC.

I headed to a very familiar spot to pick up this solved puzzle today. Such a beautiful autumn day I thought a short walk would be nice after grabbing some caches with Joolay at lunchtime. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache GreyHams

#1936 I thought I was on the right track with this puzzle but no matter what I tried I ended up in the middle of the lake. Some guidance from the CO pointed got me back on track but it still took some time to come up with the correct answer as certain numbers had me a bit transfixed. Got there in the end and dropped by this afternoon for the find. Thanks GreyHams for the cache and the assistance along the way!

27-Sep-21
Solved the puzzle after a nudge from a previous finder and whilst in the area today a lovely walk across to GZ where I made a quick find after consulting the hint. Much quieter here today then it was on the weekend!

Log is quite wet, and even after drying it off I needed to get an alternate pen to sign.

Thanks, GreyHams.

Phew found it. After working from home this morning getting the side fence done and then next Covid needle and then work, needed something fun to do. Getting on dark but managed to go round and round and found the right spot. Log a bit damp but otherwise all good. Nice puzzle said no one ever LOL. Actually it was a nice one.

Found when I actually believed the hint. It is a bit away from the coords. Log is pretty wet - I dried it out as much as I could. Great puzzle. Tftc

A great puzzle. And a great spot for the cache. Tftc!

08-Feb-21
I actually found the cache and signed the log in the 23rd of December when I joined I am Coust, StarsAlign and Contesta for some caching after the Festivus event.
I finally sat down and solved the puzzle today. Loved the wordplay.

My 3rd search for this one to-day, after gathering some information at the ANU for a multicache. This time I finally spotted the blighter and had the log signed. TFTC.

This puzzle stumped me for ages, but a closer look at the set of numbers and some literal thinking helped me finally crack it! After attending today's event, I decided to give this one a go. A quick find at GZ; however the rubber o-ring has snapped and broken off. TFTC GreyHams!

After attending a nearby event, we met with some family for a bbq at the end of Black Mtn Peninsula.
Mr Domsky noticed that this cache was very close to our picnic area, so after dinner, 10 of us headed off to GZ. 10 of us equals 20 eyes, but it still took some looking to come up with the goods. A sneaky hide and we were happy to sign our name.
Thanks GreyHams. We appreciate the nudges you helped with along the way to getting us find a good set of numbers.
It was such a perfect night to be here by the lake we have missed while living up north.
We are visiting now, but looking forward to moving back here in the future.
Cheers,
Domsky

Easy, once you know how. But founding out how, that's a doosey. Found whist attending a nearby event. TNLNSL TFTC

TFTC Smile Great day for caching again today, thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.

Found with I am Coust, StarsAlign and Contesta. Will claim the find when I work out the puzzle.

More to come

10-Dec-20
The original plan was a walk in some of the high country but with some road closures it was changed to GOM's going to the ACT and Yass for a few day walks and caches.
While some of the members had a full day completing the UFO series which I'd completed on the last trip I headed out for some other caches.
The puzzle took a little until trying something else. The hide was well concealed so took a little to find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Woot! Came down to watch the last 747, expecting it to fly overhead not long after we arrived. Turns out it was delayed, so a short walk was in order

Time to avenge my multiple dnfs here!

Found with a new hint, safe and sound. TFTC GH!

Out on a caching blitz with muppet95, today our hit list contained Lab adventures, mystery caches, letterboxes, virtuals,a wherigo or two and a few high difficultly trads also tossed into the mix,we began our day at the top end of town as we cached down towards the university, across to Mt Ainslie with the adventures also taking us everywhere else all over and in-between before heading back home again,it was a big day out having ourselves an excellent time visiting some unique and interesting places and finding alot of fun, challenging and creative hides along the way.

On our way home after a pretty big day we stopped in here for a chilly night search, muppet had done the leg work on the puzzle,i was just in the right place.

Thanks GreyHams for the cache

Teamed up with Bonfire7 for a day of caching in Canberra. We had a very successful day outdoors, tackling a selected list of caches. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this recreational activity.

Made a short detour to collect this solved puzzle. Found the cache after using the good hint.

Today was a day I needed a few caches to meet caches found per day challenge, so after work I came down to Lake Burly griffin to get the caches I needed.

I was happy to see this one had been replaced, so I headed down for another look today. I did not update my answer from last time, but the hint helped with the new location.

Thanks for the cache GreyHams

A bight sunny Sunday morning took me out first for a hard bike ride then a leisurely collection of caches around Canberra. I had a good look around here on two different occasions, but was not able to locate it. I hope I am just blind.

Thanks.

Oops forgot to log this one!!

Found a long time ago with the CO and group of Cachers at an event. So long I can’t even remember the date.

I was looking at the new caches the CO had placed on Black Mountain when I clicked on this one and remembered it.

Clever puzzle btw. Tftc GreyHams!!!

After the event, Loci612 and I headed off to this cache. A cheeky little hide! Liked the puzzle. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC GreyHams!

23-Oct-18
I had solved this a little while ago and today on my way home from work I thought I go and collect it. I thought the puzzle was really nice. I tried all kids of ways to solve it before a nudge helped reveal a much easier solution.

Thank you GreyHams for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Indeed, I found the log but no container. At least whoever decided to steal my container left it.

New container in place, PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DANGLING! Cache on.

#8517 - 09:20; Spring is in the air and CITO season has started too. Arrived to find the cleanup well underway and set off with Sol de lune to do our bit. This cache had shown itself on the GPSr on the way in, so we stopped off to make the find as we passed. Like those before us, found the log, but the container appears to have gone AWOL. Added our names and headed on our way. TFTC GreyHams Smile

16,528. Found today as I was in the neighbourhood.

A fun puzzle to solve. As I was nearby today I dropped by and found just the log rolled up and shoved between two limbs. Weird? Anyway, I signed the log, 'replaced' it, and headed off to the next cache of the day.

TFTC GreyHams !!

I was attending the CITO event nearby and picking up rubbish with ZQX and Noikmeister. I have had the coords for this cache for a little while now but have been saving it for a day in my streak when I'm in the area....

I had no intentions of picking it up today, however we literally walked past it and ZQX was like "Look a cache". I initially forgot about this cache and thought it was the old traditional that used to be here, but then it hit me! Ahhhhhh may as well sign it now that it's literally in my hands!

Thanks GreyHams for the puzzle and cache. It has been muggled however and the container is missing. All that we found was the small log stuck between a few branches, won't last very long now! Sad

15-Sep-18
Container has gone missing, only the log remains

15-Sep-18
Out and about at the CITO event and headed to finally grab this. As mentioned, the container is missing, however the original log with all the finders names is there. Did someone drop the container and wasn't able to find it ?? Not sure.

Thanks GreyHams….neat puzzle and another one crossed off the list.

Beautiful evening in the Capital. Decided to go for a short drive and collect a few caches I've been meaning to pick up. I solved this a while ago. It was one of those puzzles that required enough looking at the puzzle to finally see something worth seeing. Happy with that.

Quick pick up at GZ, although there is no container, just the log tucked between branches. TFTC GreyHams

I enjoyed walk . Am catching up on caches solved and found. I enjoyed doing this puzzle. Signed the log. TFTC GreyHams

Found at 12:46:00 PM

I got the right idea for this one and just checked my thinking with the CO who confirmed my assumptions. Since I don't need much excuse to write some code I decided not to trust my ability to do what was needed without mistakes. A bit of overkill for sure, but it was a fun little exercise.

Thanks GreyHams

#1633

After attending the CITO event, a bunch of us decided to grab this cache (you know, since we were in the area). We wandered over and surprised a family of muggles who were fishing right next to GZ. Easy extraction and log signing was performed, with the CO watching on. Thanks for the cache, GreyHams.

22-Apr-18
This was a very popular place just after the nearby CITO. .. especially as the CO was wandering down among the group of us who all stood around chatting while one of the group signed us all in Smile
TFTC - both hiding and walking over to it - might have been a while before I came to find it otherwise - had a quick look at the puzzle, tried a couple things bit didn't work ... although it is just as likely I stuffed it up and they do work ... might try and figure it out later ... but at the moment I necpver seem to have time to keep up with logging, let along solve puzzles
speaking od logging ... don't die with surprise ... yes I am posting this log ON the day I found the cache - lol
(spent the evening catching up with where I am up to ... now there is just the job of digging out my older notebooks and logging some odd caches I didn't log for whatever reasons ... and that month in NZ ... sigh ...

22-Apr-18
Found with a group of cachers, including the CO, after the nearby CITO. Now that I've looked at the puzzle I have an idea as to its solution - I'll need to try it and see if I'm correct. TFTC.

22-Apr-18
Found with a few other caches today. After the CITO, saw a group heading off and decided to follow and see what they were up to. After scaring off a few muggles, a cache was found in the company of the CO. TFTC

After attending the CITO nearby, we decided to collect this one which we was sitting on our unfound list. A quick search and we soon had the container in hand. Thanks for an enjoyable puzzle Greyhams

I have been spending a bit of time lately out collecting some of my yet to be found caches, so with the smallest amount of time that was just enough I was able to find this cache today. I did need a prompt on this one but did quite enjoy the ease of the solve once the in was sorted. In hind sight I'm not sure why I didn't see that! Quite a good puzzle really and the location also very nice today, thanks for the cache GreyHams.

17-Mar-18
Well, I did spend a bit of time on the puzzle. I tried various things, and in the end it seems I did get quite close, but was not applying my line of thought far enough! So in the end I ask for a hint, and that helped! The cache was found easily enough after that. I do like the triple meaning behind cache name Smile... Thanks GH!

When this first came out, I tried several things without success. (Roughly on the right track as it turns out, but not right enough). After a helpful hint, I soon had success. A quick find this evening. TFTC.

Cache 3406 on 14 Mar 2018

Today is my birthday so Bobl27 was obliged to stop on the way home and let me get a couple of caches!

This was second cab off the rank. It took a hint for the penny to drop - duh! Popular places indeed . Cache was a quick find as the cache style was familiar now !

Thanks GreyHams for the cache!

*FTF* at 9:35 pm.
There I was solving puzzles, when a brand new one popped up. Decided that there was a FTF chance so switched focus to the new puzzle. Tried a few things, scratched my head, then tried one more thing. Aha!
Thx for the puzzle and cache. Took me 5 to 10 minutes to find the cache. Good thing the torch was in the car.
