Find number 12739 at 12:29:17pm on Wednesday the 13 December 2023Time to use up a travel voucher before it expires on December 31 so I hatched a plan for a day trip to Sydney to do some LGA's and SideTracked geocaches. First flight out of Melbourne in the morning and last flight back in the evening, it turned out to be a long day, up a 3:30 and back home at half past midnight for a total of nineteen geocaches, thirteen SideTracked and nine LGA's Now that's a small track, I guess that's why it's a Mini SideTracked.**Thanks for placing this cache Aussiebrian**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. I tend to keep a watch on caches that I have DNF'd so was really pleased to see that the CO had checked out this hide after I hadn't been able to find it when I got sidetracked on my train ride home from Sydney last week.So, I detoured here on my way to Penrith this afternoon to have dinner with friends who are heading overseas tomorrow for a month ... and had no problems finding the cache right where I expected it to be.Thanks for creating this SideTracked cache aussiebrian, and for performing necessary maintenance on it so quickly.

I caught a train to Sydney this morning since it's much cheaper ($2.50 all day), more relaxing and theoretically, not much slower (if you're going, like I was today, to somewhere close to a train stop) than battling traffic on the M1 and through suburbia. In the event, however, today's return trip turned out to be much slower than the forward journey, simply because I'm a geocacher and got sidetracked along the way ... three times! Of course, had I driven, I'm sure I would have made some caching stops enroute anyway!!Unfortunately, no luck finding this one. It may have gone AWOL but then again, I may have missed seeing it since I rushed what I thought would be a quick search so that I didn't miss the next train. That said though, I'm pretty sure I checked all the likely/normal hiding spots in locations like this.

Took a weekend drive with goingplaces2 to pick up some target caches without the weekday work traffic. This looked like a fun place to visit on the right day. Cache was found easily, log was signed and replaced. TFTC.

We decided to do some caching with ilook4geo in some areas that is better done on the weekend when parking is more readily available. This one was no problem and very few muggles were around, so a quick find was made. Plenty of room to sign on the log and all was put back as found when finished. Thank you to Aussiebrian for bring this mini railway to our attention.

I remember logging an older cache here some years ago when CF junior was much younger and we attended a Saturday on the rails here. CF senior enjoyed the steam railway too! TFTC

We stopped by to get this on a Friday afternoon on our way back toward the city. Pity we’re not able come on a day when the mini railway is running as it would be very cool to see. This is also our first MINI SideTracked. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC

I could find this one on a walk in the area near my hotel. With the help of the hint I did not have to search much even in the dark. Thanks for the cache!

Passing by so a quick stop for a cache only to get an incoming call so not a quick find.
The lid has come off and the magnet detached so a few CO repairs are needed.

By dumb luck we felt the cache immediately when we reached GZ, most of us hadn't even stopped walking yet.
Hard not to look suspicious signing the log here, as there isn't much cover.

I’m living in Sydney for 1.5 months from the beginning of 2022, but come visit once a year anyway (pre covid) but I never knew this miniature railway was here! This is so cool, and I’m lucky to be in Sydney on the day they open to public (only on the 3rd Saturday of every month!) as the next time they have an open day, I will already be in another state. Was here with grandma and rode on the trains , and very happy to pick up a quick cache upon leaving, an extra gem to this already special gem in West Ryde. TFTC

It was after dark when i arrived at the GZ. I was a little confused at first as my GPSr was pointing a little way into a place i couldnt get to but after a moments thought i looked around spotted an area to start my search and soon came away with the cache.
