Logs
Found and logged this time!! Went back one last time with @LittleSquawkers!
I've escaped Canberra after all the mega fun and am up in Queensland for the week to have a holiday and grab a few caches to continue the streak while I'm at it!I'd been eyeing this one off since I got up here for its intriguing D/T, and the more I learned about it, the more I realised what I was in for!Having visited yesterday and gathering some information to confirm my hypothesis, I noted that the water had receded slightly over the 24 hour period which made things a little easier for me (and, in that same period, some kind soul had mown the grass on the way to the entrance point!)But with rain forecast for the rest of the week, I knew today was my last chance to complete this one safely, and just on sundown too! It's rather appropriate that I do this one given that Queensland provided me with my first drain cache (which has since become a ubiquity for me in Canberra) although this one was definitely a bit tougher than others I've encountered.A low RCP made the relatively short distance feel much longer - something that was felt mainly in the calf region!Only one spidey was encountered, and it was perfectly happy to skedaddle along the water once I'd knocked it out of my way. Finally I got a chance to sit down at gz (figuring that if I make an effort to not check the for the presence of any inhabitants of a few lairs spotted on the way in, then I'd get a chance to rest!) and make what was then a rather simple find. The attached structure is quite robust for something down here, although the means of attachment are subject to detaching with sufficient persuasion compared to a different arrangement of the same materials that would more permanently affix it (still, it's evidently lasted and I aimed to replace it in a fashion that was equally sturdy). The log is nice and dry and I signed my name at the top of the blank sheet. My legs were subjected to bearing the weight of another crouch-waddle until I finally emerged again, not feeling totally steady as I stood back up straight!Fortunately, as my reward, the nearby supermarket had finally got their act together and put their easter eggs at clearance prices which was duly taken advantage of!A bit of post-caching chocolate never hurt anyone (and I like to think that the workout certainly warranted it...)Thanks to WallabyWanderers for this great hide!
Checked this one today and it is indeed missing. Will organise replacement asap.
Couldn’t find after a 3rd look! Probably taken or swept away from water! Please check it!
When in the tunnel at about 1:00ish by myself. It was very dark and wet and there was this weird snake/eel looking thing. Later I got LittlebigDetective to explore the tunnels with me. We looked in the larger tunnel for a good 20 mins and found nothing but a dead rat. Then we looking through the smaller tunnels we had to crawl to fit through those tunnels. In the end we had to give up because it was getting dark outside. There was this muggle mum that saw us go into the tunnels and then sat a nearby chair. We waved at her when we there in the tunnels. She was very confused. This is a great spot though very wet. Will be back soon!
That one was a bit of an adventure... It wasn't too hard to get but unfortunately it actually began to rain while I was crawling to get there... So shoes and trousers got soaking wet... But in the end it was real fun...
Thanks for placing and best regards from Germany!

Up next, I had pulled up pretty much on top of the co-ords. Started my search around the geo-mobile, but had to retreat back to the car as a muggle with their child who was having a meltdown went to their vehicle in front of mine. After that I expanded my search after reading previous logs, but when that didn't help, I had an idea. Initially I was reluctant, but once I persevered the cache was revealed to me. Always wanted to do a cache like this! Thanks for a unique hide WallabyWanderers!
My favourite geocache yet, fun and adventurous although not ideal for heavy rain.
Thanks but too wet for me or Do you really expect me to put my hand in there? Either way nope!
Not a place I expected to be today, really fun but glad I was with Oreillygang otherwise I might have been a bit too scared
Day 1
I meet up with The Green Geckos and Muggle65 at a park not far from GZ. We paddle to grab these 5 caches. I needed one for my D/T loop 5. Yippee
We headed back to our vehicles. To move down the river for our second paddle.
We move my Ute further down the river, so we didn’t have to paddle back to Dunethin boat ramp.
We found 9 caches in our second paddle. We dnf one. Also one that The Green Geckos sunk into the mud up to her butt .
When it started to get dark we rush to my Ute. Especially the bank we needed to get the kayak up. Was at least 2 meters high.
We loaded kayaks onto my Ute to take all back to Dunethin boat ramp to head home.
Day 2
We start at Coolum Creek boat ramp to relaunch. As I got to the boat ramp I found a burnt out Ute ouch. I felt sorry for the owner.
We found 7 caches today. Especially finding the cache that The Green Geckos couldn’t get to.
This time Muggle65 didn’t get mud on his shoes
Then we went from kayaking to finding a cache in a drain.
We found 21 over two days kayaking. The breakdown is wherigo, 9 mystery and 11 Traditional.
Sorry for the generic log

After a cruise on the Maroochy River , Brisand I agreed for one more down & dirty challenge through the Spidey’s Lair. This was my first cache of this type, pretty cool.
Seeing as we were already a bit wet and muddy, Muggle65, Brislions and l decided to go for this one. It was actually way more fun that l expected and cache was found nice and dry. The walk in actually got my shoes lovely and mud free Really great cache. Fave point from me
Finally catching up on some outstanding logging of found caches I decided to head up to E_Smiley's CITO Event and then afterwards, joined in to find a few caches nearby.
While heading toward ground zero, I reminisced on childhood adventures where we would head quite far up a 6ft high storm water pipe which emptied into Kedron Brook. We were so naive back then and had no concept of how dangerous the place could be if a storm were to eventuate My mum often knew when kids were playing up the pipe though because of the tell tale cigarette smoke that would float out of the gutter drain outside our house Someone I went to school with even spent 3 days up that particular storm water pipe after running away from home Goodness we were little tear-aways at times
Thank you WallabyWanderers for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy A favourite point for the memories [^]

Just when we were packing up the CITO, Davidwazza mentioned this cache which I needed help. I got my gumboots ready anyway, so why not?
Thanks for the cache and taking us here WallabyWanderers. Enjoyed the adventure. Glad to do this with company.

Today, my plan was to head north to the Sunshine Coast, and attend the Coolum Beach weeding CITO. Following the event, I managed to hike a few mountains in the area, starting with Mount Coolum ascending from west to east, followed by Emu Mountain for that virtual cache. I then spent the afternoon finding geocaches around the area and along the beach promenade, which was quite enjoyable, and continued south down to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. A few Adventure Labs were completed during the day, including *Coolum Beach Sightseeing*, *Point to Point Promenade*, and *Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway*.
I arrived at this geocache initially prior to the event, intrigued by its higher D/T rating. Without having done any research, I arrived, and thought I needed to get a TOTT out of the car to ascend up a lamp post. However after reading a few past logs, I realised my suspicion was completely wrong. Hence, I decided to leave this for now, and wondered if it may be more fun as a group adventure following the CITO event. So I suggested this possibility, with a few enthusiastic yes-s.
We arrived back here in a vehicle convoy, and after parking around GZ, we soon located the access point. I had at least a torch with me, and a few more experienced Geocacher veterans had additional TOTTs to wear to assist with the access, however we managed to straddle the small stream of water available, and soon arrived at GZ to make the quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I've done a few of these cache adventures in my time, with a few present in Adelaide, and they are a bit of fun. Consequently, a Favourite Point from me for a something different adventure! Thanks dahumbug for the cache placement, and WallabyWanderers for its ongoing maintenance.

After pulling weeds at this morning's nearby CITO, a few of us headed here to see if we could spot Spidey. The water was low enough to avoid getting wet feet for those of us without gumboots, and soon all 5 of us were able to stand up and peek out the gutter drain while signing the log

Found with Orange Crew, Davidwazza, Just a Trifle and E_Smiley after CITO. Thanks team for giving me the courage to get my feet wet with this one! Thanks Wallaby Wanderers for the location.
This one was really quite fun! A little terrifying but was great to do something a little different for a change. Unfortunately this is how I found out my gumboots have split and are no longer waterproof. Came out with a few of spideys friends on me and even got to see some sort of eel/snake type creature. A favourite point from me for the excitement. And embarrassing my mother. TFTC!
Not keen on doing this alone, if somebody is coming here and finding this can can they please message me and I'll come along and help look for it thank you.

With rain threatening we decided to make this a very quick entry and exit. An easy find in an interesting location. Thanks for the cache and new log WW.
After a DNF I decided to go for a look, yep, Spidey went walkabout, must have gone to see his cousin Incy Wincy at Woombye, he's back home now though and awaiting visitors
We were in the right spot and had the right TOTT. Could not see any cache.Could it have been wased away during the heavy rain in the last week?
Will keep an eye for future seekers logs.
Thanks WallabyTim

ooops! forgot to log this one during the week. I had messaged the CO about my find instead, lol. This was a nice little mid week adventure and thankfully Spidey must have gone on holidays because no one was home when we visited. Otherwise I think the geokid would have completely freaked out. It's always good to push yourself outside your comfort zone though, so in we went to find our treasure, and find it we did. TFTC WW's

Visiting from New Zealand for a few days and out hunting for my morning coffee, and a cache or two too. Ok, I'm pretty sure I know what's required, but at 6'5" and not appropriatly dressed, and not having the right tools and ... what other excuses can I make. Really, I'm a bit scared of the unfamiliar Aussie wildlife. Maybe next time I'll have a go. ...
Felt like a wombat crawling into my liar then wen I reached GC started looking but it wasn't for a while that I found it right behind my head. WOW it is certainly worth a fav point thanks for the cache
11:51:00 AM. Came back today with the right TOTT's to attempt this cache. We were worried about the water after all the rain but it was ok so off I went on all fours. Got to GZ and I am glad thats where it was. Signed log and headed out with the better half laughing at me all the way and taking photo's for FB. At least I went in. Thanks for the cache WallabyWanderers
I said to my daughters and wife that the next cache was a face your fears cache. Seeing they scream and carry on whenever they see a cockroach I knew it was a tough ask. I can understand the carry on when the cockroach is in their meal at a restaurant but there is no point letting good food go to waste.
My eldest daughter said she was up for the challenge and so took a torch off me and followed me in. Halfway through and I looked back to see her backing back out. She hadn't made it more than 2 metres and I knew some ribbing was coming her way. She made up an excuse that she didn't want to get her shoes wet.
My wife is a teacher and so had a bit of a bang on about how they teach kids not to do crazy stuff like this. Lucky for her I'm not that edukayted. It was nice to see the family when I returned who had made the huge walk back to greet me. This was great fun. tftc

Been staying in Noosa for a conference and now heading back to Brisbane. Taking the coastal route and looking for a few smiley faces. No joy here. Lots of muggles in the park. Intrigued by the rating having seen GZ. With have to come back one day.
I’ll be back. Not one to complete in cycling gear. Still a bit of water about after the rain this week.
Visited this on a recommendation from Vegan Cachers. Um. I don’t know. Maybe they’re trying to tell me they don’t want to be friends with me any more. Arrived at GZ having not read the description or any logs. All VC told me was that they coords are accurate. Taking into consideration the Terrain rating, I quickly worked out what was required. While putting off the inevitable, I finally looked at the logs. Shouldn’t have looked at the most recent finder’s photo. I’m going to have Hitchcock nightmares for weeks. Finally bit the bullet and headed in. My aching back and knees didn’t think too much of my adventure but I made a quick find.
Thanks for the cache WallabyTim. This was find #3882. Please discover my trackable: MMGJ6B.

Back down from Townsville to spend xmas with my parents and looking to pick up some Interesting hides today.
This one caught my eye. I have two hides like this at home so I was expecting the worst.
I was happy to see crawling or a skateboard was not required. I was fearful of the snake seen by past visitors. Pleased to say the only creatures I encountered were the swallows who evaded me on entry.
Thanks for the challenge.

We knew we were looking something different here but had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the location. We had to resort to reading logs and it was only when we read about the clown did geohubby realise what this one was all about. Not to give anything away but I did not attempt this very far. He did and soon had the prize in hand. Thanks for a different type of GZ WallabyTim.
I was heading north this morning and detoured to grab this one. After parking nearby I headed to GZ and then after smiling headed off and was soon doing the duck waddle to the cache, I haven't done that sort of waddle in many years!
I was soon in the right spot and the cache was in hand but while signing it I had thoughts about that clown![:o)] All that was missing was the balloons
Log signed and cache returned as found.
A favourite point from me.

Logging this as a 'Did Not Attempt'. I can see what's required...not for us today!
Not logging as DNF yet. If it's where we think we have to wander it's too dangerous.
We were here yesterday but we’re too careful. Today with a bit more courage we found the cache. Tftc
I did try to find this cache yesterday but with Geopartner's dodgy knees and pictures of a critter that I was a bit scared of, I went three quarters of the way there and turned around and reneged on the find.
When I arrived home, I called my caching friend CDAH55 to see if he was up for the hunt and we agreed to meet at GZ. This time it was a piece of cake. I have done these type of caches before but always took someone with me. Soon arrived at the cache and it took a considerable time before the log was extracted (jammed it and tott did not work) but we managed to sign our names on the log.
Next time I'll try not to be so much of a scaredy cat.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Wallaby Tim All good with this cache

Sunday. Second cache found today for Slow Puncture with Muggle Friend Adriano in tow. We read up on the caching notes before we got to this one and googled Megadolomedes Trux on the way. Okay, that’s a pretty big hint! So we had an idea of where to look, even though our arrow on our app was on a real go-slow today. We tried a few things first, and then when I looked over there and saw the location of where Mr S.P. and Muggle Friend were, I thought – of course! Ok, no worries here, and luckily I don’t mind caches like this! I even found a lucky $2 coin on my journey to the cache! Container and log are in excellent condition. Log was signed and replaced as found.
This was the 2nd of 6 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***WallabyTim***, for showing us this place.

I had seen this cache come up on the notifications and it immediately caught my interest as the D/T ratings were attractive. I thought that I should go to get it but work seems to get in the way.
Yesterday, I organised with Team Benders to meet at GZ to search for the cache.
This is one of the better caches which is a bit out of the ordinary.
At GZ, the cache was found easy enough but extracting the log was a bit more difficult as it was well and truly jammed in.
Eventually, the log was extracted with the help of various tools. The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Stortigirls and I were at the Sunshine Coast, collecting a few smileys. I parked the geomobile quite close to GZ. We got out and looked around, but could not spot anything. Then we realised where we needed to be. Oh! Really??? I was chatting to a geobuddy on the phone at the time and they confirmed out theory. Okay, off we go. This cache really is a lot of fun. After adding our names to the log, we took some fun photos to add to our caching album. TFTC
I was out on a birthday caching expedition with Selva Girls and pulled up near gz to try and claim a smilie here. After a bit of a half hearted hunt we realised what needed to be done, and this was confirmed by a fellow cacher Selva Girls was chatting with at the time. How much fun was this? A few photo ops and a couple of signatures later and we were back in the geomobile and off to the next cache. Take a favourite for the birthday fun WallabyTim
Having successfully claimed our smilies on a few mystery caches not too far away, & in the company of our Vegan compatriot WallabyTim, it was suggested Mrs VC have a crack at Spidey's Lair.
I could do with a rest, & liked the idea of pushing Mrs VC a little out of her safe zone, & WallabyTim was the CO so as he was excluded from the hunt, it was deal done & we arrived here with smiles (from the guys) & a little trepidation on the part of Mrs VC. LOL ...
Quick to start Mrs VC had soon identified all the places that Spidey WASN'T.
Here is where the head scratching started ...
Taking in our surroundings & ignoring the taunting & the smirking facial expressions decorating WallabyTim's dial I encouraged Mrs VC to relax & consider the possibilities.
An occasional 'goad' from WallabyTim tempted me to tell him to 'hop it' & find a green patch to keep him occupied (& out of the way!).
Now this truly is the meaning of caching with friends, more head scratching, searching the available information & scouring the surroundings while your MATE stands close by with a satisfied gloating look on his face.
Step by painful step things fell into place & Mrs VC found herself faced with something she'd rather NOT attempt! LOL ...
I think this was where WT actually started chuckling!
**Very Easy Going AND Nasty** as he is!
Mrs VC gave it her best shot but gracefully declined to proceed so Mr VC stepped up to the challenge to take one for the team.
Making 'reasonably' short work of things Mr VC was soon in a position to claim the find but wait ... I didn't have a scribble stick with me!
No matter!
I have our trusty 'VC ' stamp in my pocket so all is good. Phew! LOL ...
I took a seat & enjoyed a short break before re-joining my lovely (laughing!!!) wife & the Wiley, Witty & Wisecracking Wallaby Tim!
Rest assured my Vegan friend, life turns in circles & karma is coming for you. LOL ...
As a sidenote ... If you want a great cache that gets you thinking outside the box then DON'T miss this one!
TFTC WallabyTim
Definitely a favourite point for a clever cache indeed & the somewhat testing time we had while you gloated nearby!

We had our friends Astrokatz visiting from Brisbane and after lunch at the surf club, an afternoon of geocaching was the plan, as they had not any of late. They had already had a tour of a few of my new ones as we waved to them from the car on the way past, between home and Coolum.
I knew there were a few new ones not too far away and this one was the closest. Little did I realise what adventure was to soon unfold....
We scared away the people in the park fairly quickly by our strange antics looking under and around several inanimate objects. Then we started to think harder about the hints in the description. A few clues were leading to one area that we quickly dismissed due to the factor of access difficulty. But it would make a good lair for a cute spider named Spidey...
After wandering a bit further afield, K & I soon realised what may have to be done. By this time, the blokes had lost interest and gone back to the car chatting. Even though I was in a skirt, I did have appropriate shoes on for this sort of thing, so I volunteered and headed off with phone torch in hand. With gasps and expressions of disbelief from the others, I bravely ventured on and soon found the cache. Was disappointed not to notice any Megadolomedes truxes but maybe that was just as well. Spidey's lair was quite complex with lots of places for him to sneak off and hide.
I waved to the others from gz, feeling a bit creepy clownish and using the teamwork option passed the log to K to sign for Astrokatz. Replaced all as found and retraced my steps, emerging the hero of the hour...(well, in my own eyes anyway, the others thought I was a bit stupid...)
I think a few more attributes could be added... especially, not to attempt in heavy rain....

TFTC WallabyTim A favourite point for the courage to place such an adventurous cache right under muggles noses

Parked up near the vets and wandered over to GZ and began our search without any luck when a 'strange' gentleman came over and asked us if we were dickbev. Great to meet you at long last dahumbug and for your invaluable help in finding this cache otherwise I think we would still be there now - we have never come across this type of hide before but its always good to learn something new. Deserves a favourite point for the adventure. TFTC WallabyTim
**FTF** April Fools Day at 10:00am
I had a horrible night last night and I Opened my email this morning to see some new listings on the sunny coast. Closer inspections revealed maybe FTF still available, so I bolted from my daughters place to GZ. Parking on the main road I walked over...I knew what it was straight away. Back to the car and parked slightly away from GZ but not on it for obvious reasons.
Headlight on,torch on and start the walk. 10 metres in see a friend from Slytheryn House. OMG, I haven't used my parcel tongue to talk to long slithering creatures forever. "Kura bana fraeslis". My friend moved aside. I then continued my journey to GZ. Ooh,looksy here...my first FTF on the sunny coast in forever, and now my most favourite FTF. I started my journey back and spoke with little nangini again..."kerashe derne sine". He obliged.
Messaged CO and MinnieMoo from GZ...my heart is still beating so fast.
Logged from GZ which I never do. I hit the little favorite heart ,first thing I did.
Thanks WallabyTim.
