I managed three different caching activities today. First was the event to get the Parkway bridge cache. Next I headed up to do the remaining Isaacs Ridge caches from the Northern end. After lunch I headed down to Nimitabel collecting caches in Numeralla and Cooma along the way. It was a long day but a huge sense of achievement.

Thanks for the cache GreyHams

Cache 8343 on 26 Dec 2021.

Was very happy this morning to see the rain forecast for today shift to the afternoon, as it meant I would not get wet grabbing a puzzle cache today. Except of course, self induced sweat, which happened after I found said puzzle cache.

As I was in the area, I decided to head to this cache to get some much needed exercise after the joys of Christmas feasting. This is where a little sweat was generated!

Cache quickly found - in good condition. I was tempted to head off to get a couple more, but the day had warmed up a bit and the long grass was annoying, so I followed the path back to the car and headed home for a late breakfast instead!

Thanks GreyHams for the cache and the fun!

Plan B to day was, ah what can it be, there’s a few on Isaacs Ridge that have been solved and waiting for pick up. So off we go for a walk among the pine trees, admiring all the wonderful fungi

Grateful thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches that continue to entertain me on my caching journey.

Having our Namadgi hike cancelled due to the wet weather this cache was just the workout that the doctor ordered. This is a hard climb up but rewarding and invigorating 109m ascent to GZ with beautiful views and surroundings. It was a 1.40km return walk in 26 minutes. Quick and easy find at GZ. TFTC GreyHams.

fitzy_1965 and I decided to tackle Isaacs Ridge with weekend. After speading the news, we ended up being joined by FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild & Flintstones.

Although the weather had potential for a lot of rain, it was only drizzling lightly as we started and thankfully didn't get too much heavier for the whole walk.

All of us had different caches to find but signed all logs as MRF^3. We collected all the caches on our list with the exception of one which was a known DNF before we started.

Quick find at GZ. Thanks GreyHams

15-Aug-20
The number of placements in this area were growing and tempting, so we teamed up with MinnieK, Rapidlywild, fitzy_65 and Flintstones to attack them on this drizzly day. We decided for the two (or in this case three) car approach, leaving one car at the designated meeting place and headed to the northern end to start our trek. The weather held off to showers for our trek over the ridge. The group decided to sign the logs MR F3 or MR FFF; some log books were a bit damp and mouldy, but we still managed to put our mark on it.

A bit of a climb for this one, but a quick find at GZ. Thanks for the placement GreyHams

15-Aug-20
There have been a large number of puzzles released on Isaacs Ridge over time and as they came out, they were promptly solved and added to the "Solved/Unfound" pile. FFLL reached out and advised there was a group planning a walk along the ridge and asked if I wanted to come along. Yes please Big Grin

It had been organised that one car would be left at the southern end and we would begin our walk at the northern end, this saved any backtracking and worked out really well. Todays walking group consisted of both FFLL ladies, MinnieK, fitzy_1965, Flintstones and myself. As such, we decided to sign the logs as MRF^3 (some logs signed as MRFFF). The forecast was for rain today but luckily for us, it was more of a haze drizzle throughout our walk.

Upwards we continue to go, this time it was off to a traditional, no issues with the find here. Signed and replaced, thanks for the hide GreyHams Smile

21,244. Found with minniek and other brave souls during a slightly wet but fun walk around Isaacs Ridge today.

Having cleaned out the ridge back in 2017, I watched with interest as the Pentominoes Battleship game was carried out adding many tough puzzles to the list to solve and get around the area. Managed to get them all solved, and once the dust settled from Pentominoes we started making plans for a visit. Word spread and the party finished up with FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild and Flintstones (signed as MRFFF or MRF^3). Thankfully the rain mostly stayed away as we visited nearly every nook and cranny of the ridge collecting - in my case - everything I wanted. My thanks to the COs of the puzzles for an at times tough slog getting the solves.

Thanks GreyHams !! Nice addition to the game board Wink

The lock down had seen the group accelerate with the solving of the ACT puzzles. As things eased (except south of the border) a weekend away was planned for the NSW Chapter of GOM . Isaacs Ridge soon became a likely target and so an afternoon assault was planned as
some members had various duties in the morning. After a car shuffle we headed off from the southern head with a goal of walking to the north which some how saw us arrive in the Middle East? Plenty of up and down including attending the CITO in the middle. The heavier wooden sections of the south gave way to the grasses of the north for some great 360 views and a number of mobs of roos. A great afternoon. TFTC

In Canberra this weekend as part of the Grumpy Old Mates (GOMs) adventure on Isaac's Ridge. A great day with lots of ups and downs from one side of the ridge to the other.

Finally, something to do with Pentominoes that I can understand. Found with the iso-puzzling gang on our ACT winter weekend. Thanks GreyHams.

25-Jul-20
8 Found out of 19 on the way to (and from the CITO atop Issacs Ridge)

Began around midday heading North, collecting trads and mystery caches alike (predominiately mysteries!) - with the goal to arrive at the CITO at 14:15

Didn't quite happen that way, but that was OK. CO's were later than I was!

Given I had wanted to come back when the ridge was predominately light blues, rather than dark blues, it's been a while since I solved a fair few of the mysteries on my walk

Towards the top, I met up with Toy Hunters, who joined me on the last few along the ridgeline (and a few after)

Arrived at the CITO, had a quick chat, then was on my way again. Making our way down, we spotted a few more cachers, who yelled out how to find one of the caches. Thanks for that!

A solid effort out. I also discovered discovered that my new Garmin watch likes to beep after I'd done enough steps/spent enough time out exercising. It's also interesting that I clocked about 160min of walking in a 4.5hr adventure. That suggests that my time finding caches is far more than I thought

TFTC GreyHams!

Found while tackling some caches on Isaacs Ridge while visiting the area today for the CITO. I have been percrastinating finding this cache for many years now but decided that the event was, by far, the best excuse to come up here. Walked from 'Training for Italy' to this one; which was a very pleasant walk as it was mostly flat up top of the ridge (hence its name). Spectcular views all around; especially at this GZ. Hopped over the fence and had a quick find. TNLNSL. Have had good laughs reminicing on the pentomineos battleships saga - TFTC GreyHams!

Ahhhh Pentominoes Pentominoes...

I remember when this debacle was occuring, and had a laugh about these caches! Never did we hit the battleship though, but the cache was eventually located ;P

This is actually a great location for a cache Smile Amazing views from up here, unobstructed by the clearing on the hill. Perfect hide too, safe and dry!

Thanks GreyHams.

Hmmm... This is one of those occasions where I have fallen a bit behind on finalising some of my draft logs. So I end up saying something generic because I really don't remember the details of this. It was a lovely walk up and about the hill though. I remember that much! TFTC Smile

This has appeared towards the top our GSAK display for ages. Had finally solved half a dozen nearby puzzles to make a nice loop late this afternoon with the energetic Jack Russell. An excellent walk, up and down the ridge a few times, and the best time of year to do it. No spiders or thistles!

Thanks GreyHams. I see this hasn't helped you land on PP yet.

Beautiful views from up here in the perfect place that is just begging to conceal a cache!
Stopped to take it all in for a while (and maybe for a little rest!), before heading off on my walk. TFTC

Today was the first day of caching in Canberra on my own, with my travelling buddies Dez (JezNDez) and Lennondayz29 having flown back to Brisbane yesterday. With plenty of caches on my to-do list for today and a couple of seminars at the Mega on my agenda for later in the day, an early start was required to fit it all in.

After spending the morning walking around Callum Brae Nature Reserve, I decided to move on to a quick stroll around Isaac's Ridge Nature Reserve before heading back to the Mega event to attend a couple of seminars. This was one of the caches I managed to fit in. Cache found and log signed. TFTC

The bushwalking club had a walk along Isaacs Ridge this evening. The weather was warm, the scenery fine and it was an opportunity to seek out the remaining traditional geocache on the Ridge. It was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you to GreyHams for installing and maintaining this cache.

It's always a nice place to visit, Isaac's Ridge, but I haven't been up here for awhile. This cache gave me the excuse for another visit. I parked in Chapple Close and made the uphill walk from there. Squeezed through the wire fence and it was a quick find. TFTC GreyHams.

After finding a good parking spot headed up for a find and to drop off a trackable. TFTC.

I was up on the ridge collecting some of the many puzzle caches in the area with the CO when this cache was placed. Since then many more puzzles were placed and yet this cache remained still in its own place and able to be published, quite a feat really when the area really is teaming with caches everywhere! Thanks for the cache GreyHams.
