On Maggie for a few days, with the aim to get in as many of the beautiful trail walks as possible.Today was the hunt for the Sphinx and also Endeavour Falls.Came up to this beautiful lookout first - and totally forgot to look for the cache.....!!!After trekking to the others destinations today, made a decision to come back up and find this one. Some gentle rock hopping and bushwjacking, and the cache was soon in hand!! Log signed and cache replaced as found.Grabbed a TB and left a TB as a trade. I was convinced that the TB I had was named after Maggie the dog, which would have been so fitting as we have been travelling together for a while now, but alas, it was Molly. It almost made for a good story!!! TFTC
It took a while but we found, thanks to Cedars great work thank for the hunt
Together with team Saturnus on tour through Australia. Cache was quickly found. TFTC
10103 - 11:35Together with team IkZie.A bitt of a search but then we got it.Thanks for the cache
Bailed on this one since the rock scramble was a bit too much for my 8 year old. Nice view at the lookout and saw a wallaby.
#7249Found with Samuel737. Were staying on the island for a week (hopefully!) Day 6 today, with some marine activities cancelled due to the nearby tropical cyclone, we have more caching time- the weather is holding out for the moment too!It was extra humid after a little overnight rain, but some light rain during the short but steep walk was cooling. The lookout is great!Good coordinates and container is in great condition.TFTC!!
#7244Were staying on Magnetic Island for a week, well as long as the cyclone stays away, and caching is a priority, obviously!Relatively quick find once we arrived at GZ, good coordinates and everything perfectly dry. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache C&M+B&B!
Strolled to GZ. Checked out the views. Looks like they going to do some work on this road tooTFTC

Today we boarded the ferry and headed to Magnetic Island.
A very busy day of caching and sightseeing was had.
Your cache was one we found along the way.
Many thanks for your cache placement and adding to our geocaching experience today.

TFTC - Visiting the island for a quick holiday and exploring the area with HeliKelli. Located the cache. This is certainly a beautiful part of the world
Wow, what a view!
Kploz spent a fair amount of time at the look before finding this cache. I think we actually needed a rest from the climb up to actually recover.
A great sized container made the find even better, unfortunately it was in limited supply of swaps for little legs that may make the effort to come up here, so we added some out of our supply.
Thanks for bringing us up here to enjoy this view. A favourite from me for location and cache size.

Old Man Hands found while on Maggie for work. Having some down time in the evening, he decided to go for a walk and do some hunting.
My 2 year old and I found the cache. She was very excited about the swapsies. TFTC
Day 6 of the annual Crooked Clan North Queensland Christmas Celebration Catch Up with my in laws. Today is the first full day on Maggie.
While the rest of the clan snored peacefully in the air conditioned comfort at the resort, I headed out nice and early to beat the heat, get a little pre NYE exercise and grab some caches. Having visited the Sphinx, it would be a bit rude not to check out the view here as well. Truth be told I didn't really want to have to walk up the hill again.
I wandered past the tank and bush bashed until I picked up a track heading in the right direction. At GZ, I was pondering where the hide was only to discover I had been standing on it.
Some great views nearby. Many thanks for bringing me here, C&M+B&B.

Day 17 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. Today was attempting to finish all the caches on Magnetic Island. I ended up with 2 DNFs and 3 did not attempts. Otherwise a successful day with some pleasant and enjoyable walks. Two Koalas sighted plus some bird species I hadn't seen before. This one took longer than it should have to find. TFTC.

With great excitement we headed to Townville for the for the first FNQ Mega - we were very curious to see how much it had changed since we lived there pre-caching.
Today we headed over to Maggie with Pprass, the primary goal was to do the AdLab and have a look about. It was supposed to rain but it hardly bothered us at all.
Mr Morris was despatched up the hill with Pprass. Nice and cool for hiking today.
Thanks for contributing to the fun C&M+B&B

We headed up to the lookout to check out the view although without the sun, the sea is a rather unattractive shade of grey. Then, after finding this cache, we stopped by the waterfall which is currently flowing well. An advantage of all the rain lately.

As part of the CacheQLD committee I am here working, caching, catching up with friends and generally having a fab time. Some awesome puzzles up this way and some tricky and adventurous hides! Awesome experience! Today was island day so myself chamad and Willis007 headed over , grabbed our open air jalopy and spent a brilliant day chasing adventures. Thanks to all the COs for the caches!
What an absolutely fantastic day of caching. A day of caching which included Willis007 and Gcoven and where we had organised a day trip to Magnetic Island, (to see where they make all the magnets). I had organised a topless ride for the day to add to the fun, it was then named the “JALOPY”, however, we got more than we bargained for there. The Jalopy was a Suzuki heap, your typical was a typical island car of the 70’s, which is probably when it had its last service and road worthy check… the fun in that thing alone today was priceless.
The area around the island was just fantastic and the walks brilliant. We managed to see a couple of Koala’s sleeping in a tree near a walkway. Some great birdlife and some stunning beaches.
The caches were a lot of fun and we managed to grab the important ones for us and a few others as we passed by. Thank you to the CO’s for the hides and the continuing maintenance of the caches. We signed all logs and replaced as we found them and had a fantastic day.

Stunning views over Arcadia and beyond, the slog up the hill was a killer in the heat and I well and truly needed a swim. Nice regular sized cache. Thanks for showing me another great location.
Made this one way harder than it needed to be! Turns out I'd pretty much been standing over it the whole time. No need to go junketing about the rocks! Tftc
Gcoven, chamad and myself had always said we would do a tour of Magnetic Island while we were here for the MEGA. Today was the day!
After attending Bugs Birthday Bash we boarded the ferry and headed towards a very beautiful Island, it showed us all it had to offer today - black cockatoos, koalas, stunning views, amazing monoliths and some beautiful trees.
This was our second stop for the day. The cache was found easily.
Thanks C&M+B&B for placing the cache here.

MEGA Trip - Day 6 - Magnetic Island
Assembled the full MEGATRON crew (bella at waggy, dahumbug, tardis0061, crash2079) for a wonderful geoTour around Magnetic Island, organised by TikvaNZ. Another early start, to get our car loaded on the 7am ferry.
After an amazing circumnavigation of the island on a Aquascene charter with 20+ cachers calling themselves Mega Pirates, we raced around the island by car to grab as many more as we could before our 6pm departure ferry.
On our way back to the ferry, we felt the urge for just one more so made the short detour. Lots of huffing and puffing to get to the right level.

Great to be back in town as part of The Megatrons ((The Bug, Crash, Tardis and myself).
Well done Townsville and Charters Towers of qualify and variety to go with the Mega.
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
A great day out on a private geocaching boat trip. The skipper got us close and we did the rest. Nice to find another oldie. 24 cachers on board so the logs signed as X for the Maggie Pirates. Good weather and seas.
We had tested our sea and land kegs today but had enough juice and tine in the tank for this one. Saw a little wallaby just shy of GZ where Crash turned up the goods.

Day six and Thursday of the big Townsville trip for Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and myself. This morning we woke on Magnetic Island and would be returning to the mainland. But there is time yet for some more geocaches. Maggie has been extremely high on my to-do list and I have been thoroughly enjoying my visit.
We awoke early and with one big, hot walk already done, just Pprime and I decided to break from the group and tackle this area after breakfast. We had been up to the Sphinx and on the way back, this geocache was a short detour. I pressed to visit it and make the quick find. We knew the others had found it while we were gone.
Up the road was damn steep, but holy heck the surface is not lacking for grip! By the time we got near GZ, I was well sweaty! Thankfully, Prime made a quick find and I enjoyed the view for just a little while. Ultimately a flying visit as we'd like to be back at the car with the others soon. But, thank you for this geocache and showing us this extra little lookout, C&M+B&B

A 9 day roadtrip to Townsville and back to Brisbane in the Fangsoki Pajero with the usual cast of cachers.
The last cache on out To Do list on Maggie was The Sphinx and on the way up we took a detour to put our name in the log on this one. It took us a few minutes before we searched the correct spot.

Trudge to Townsville Day 6 for Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew153, Captain Terror and I. It was day 2 on Magnetic Island, and the main goal here for three of the group was the old cache further up the hill, which the other two of us had already found. However it would’ve just been silly really not to grab this cache at the same time.
A brief upward hike to this one, another lovely view, and an easy cache find once we were at the right angle, which of course we weren’t to start with!
Thanks for the cache C&M+B&B.

Crew 153, Pprime, Captain Terror, 1MinnieMoo, and I were in the area grabbing some caches and this was next on our list.
I trudged up the familiar hill and finally made it to GZ. We soon found the cache safe and sound. Why did they close this car park?
A good little area for a cache. TFTC C&M+B&B

Wow. I really didn't want to do this cache, as it was so hot and the walk was so steep - but I was very glad we did it. The view at the top was fabulous - when we got there there were some other people there also enjoying the view, that was unexpected. Not cachers either, but they left us to it and we were able to finish our task. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with 2 of my friends from YWAM while staying here at alma bay.
Their first cache, and after a long search, (phone GPS was a bit inaccurate, had to look at the comments to get on the right track.)

Took morning walk in area and checked on cache which we found previously. Cache remains in good condition.
Looking at caches for an upcoming visit to Maggie, I realised I'd missed logging this one last time I was here.
I enjoyed the steep walk and was well rewarded with views at the top.

First I went to the Sphinx near by, but unfortunately wasn’t able to find the cache there. Fortunately this cache was an easy one. Thanks for the view
Parked up at the bottom and headed up to the top on the asphalt before a short bush bash to GZ. I wondered where I was going to start my search then realized I was almost stood on it - good coords made for a quick find. TFTC C&M+B&B
Not going to lie. Inclines are not my favourite, but worth the view.

Saw a rock wallaby and some hummingbirds! Was about to head back up and around when eyes stared directly at the prize ahead!! TFTC!!
New boat, I love visiting the island.
After grabbing 2 FTF’s this morning and then playing in the surf at Alma I brought the family up to this great vantage point.
On my last visit I spent very little, if any time admiring the view as I was solely focussed on the FTF.
This time we all took it in. Fantastic spot.
On the way down we stopped at the pretty waterfall which wouldn’t have existed on the last visit and spotted a scarily named Death Adder but unfortunately no Koalas today.
Leaving a favourite point this time.
Thanks for bringing me to this spot.

Enjoyed the views before walking down again.

We earched for 40min and didn't find it. In order to find it you might need a hint or min 2hours! There are many possible hiding spots. We didn't see snakes - just wallabies.
Got within 4 metres of GZ but met a snake on the rocks which changed the tone of the hunt. Beautiful lookout. Will try again when we come back.

I’d borrowed Karicka’s boat for the weekend to place a couple of caches of my own and with the weather looking manageable I made the choppy run over. Anchored up in the sheltered marina and walked 2km to GZ.
That’s when the real challenge began. I spent about an hour circling high and low to no avail. Had another crack from a different angle and spotted it from about 10m away, close to a spot where I thought it should be.
Happily signed in the top spot of the clean log.
Thanks for the consistent hides and for bringing me back to this beautiful island.
I wish I still had my boat.
