I have had my eye on this challenge for quite some time now. I think it was even probably my pestering that made the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) [replace it](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CDJZFC) not to long ago. So I have had plans to get out here and find this one for ages now. However, something has always come up, which of course now that it has been almost four months, I feel horrible for pestering the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1).Well today I needed to find a mystery cache in order to fill in a missing calendar date for another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge caches, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N) and what better way to work on qualifying for a challenge cache then by finding a different challenge cache! With finding this cache being long over due, I decided to finally make it the target for the day. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and headed on over to GZ. I found a spot to park nearby the trailhead, which was surprisingly busy before I continued on over on foot. I however, did make the rookie mistake of the marking the original coordinates as corrected coordinates to show that I had finally qualified for the challenge, but unfortunately I never updated the coordinates upon the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) [replacing it](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CDJZFC).Which meant when I got to *"GZ"*, I was looking about 14 meters in the wrong direction. So after I had a fairly good look, I had to once again pester the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) for an extra hint. Of course, after I was messaged him, I noticed my error. Well armed with the extra hint and the correct coordinates, I was able to head over to the actual GZ, where the cache was quickly spotted upon arrival.**Challenge Complete!**Well I absolutely love challenge caches and try to give them favourite points, when I can. Unfortunately, I am still on a massive backlog of owed favourite points, but when I earn another one I will be sure to come back and give this cache a well deserved favourite point. So a huge thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=3b6859b7-0a94-4f1f-ad22-d5f81bef2f15&ds=2) for the fun challenge! TFTC.**Now for my qualifications:**[horror.fan.jm](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=horror.fan.jm) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7Q1TE/34944 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did."150 caches that have each been found 500 times" Qualifying 165 / 150, PASSED**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in great shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The logbook was also clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Five: Yarra RangesWeather: the first day without wind and a great afternoon.More tree carnage in this area with this poor victim trying to prevent me reaching the cache. The cache once found has that FTF vibe thanks to recent maintenance. My list of qualifying caches makes for interesting reading. Ive included the Top Ten to show how much you Victorians have helped me win this challenge, #10 is the only SA entry. Im a long way off from owning a cache with 500 finds. An interesting challenge, thanks ahomburg. Hmmm. Qualifying isn't the challenge for me, finding the cache seems to be a bigger quest.A fruitless search following a plethora of hardy geo-trails.I shall return, but for now...I still need a mystery find for today.[n0w0rries](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=n0w0rries) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7Q1TE/34944 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did."150 caches that have each been found 500 times" Qualifying 347 / 150, PASSEDThe following list are all caches found more than 1,000 times.03883: GC21Y1Y Bring Ya Rod # 6 - Melbourne Aquarium - Traditional Cache 2013-09-2103423: GC287CR Sandridge Bridge - Traditional Cache 2013-10-2203329: GC287CP Skyhooks - This is My City . - Traditional Cache 2013-10-2202783: GCG16R Figurehead - Traditional Cache 2013-10-2202588: GC3RTBK The Jewel of the Yarra - Traditional Cache 2015-09-0502125: GC20WCY AC/DC Lane - Traditional Cache 2016-06-2502079: GC34YA4 Little Chinatown - Traditional Cache 2023-05-0602052: GCJ8HR Yes, but is it art? Doing the Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge, I cannot claim to have solved all the puzzles, but managed some of them myself.

I accidentally found this one available to grab when looking for the next cache to find while up at Mt D. It turned out a qualified, and whilst scaling down the road alongside the botanic gardens, thinking, wow!, this is a BIG sample of land, then a short walk from where I parked. At GZ the hint got me to where it was tucked away and in a break of bushwalkers made the quick find. tftc

The forecast was for pleasant autumn day... prefect for a wander in the Dandenongs and hunting out a few caches... and this one in particular as I needed to find a *challenge cache* for a different challenge...

It took me a while to find the cache... the Hint gives the impression that it should be an easy find... but not only is the cache hidden, the object it is hidden in is also somewhat hidden. The frustration level hadn't quite reach *time to walk away* when I finally spotted what I was looking for.

Thanks **ahomburg** for the cache... as for the "challenge", unlike a number of your other challenges, this wasn't one that i had to work on!

Wow!!!
What a difference a couple of months make.
When catnap777 and I signed this challenge back on 21/5/22, we posted our write note both with a very long way to go to qualify. Back then, I was barely half way, and now, I see I have romped home with 176 qualifying caches.

TFTChallenge Ahomburg, this took quite a bit of targeted caching to finally complete.
It's funny how sometimes the lower difficulty caches can be the hardest to achieve.

I don't qualify as of yet, but will add this to my signed but not qualified challenge folder.

Found it! We decided to drive up the hill this evening to find a mystery cache to fulfill the mystery month challenge. I realized after looking at this challenge a number of times that I might actually qualify for it and the checker said I do!! So we headed off up the hill and arrived at GZ just as it was starting to get dark. After looking in all the wrong places and as I was about to give up, I checked one more place, turned around and found it!! Yes the coordinates are pretty spot on so trust them and look properly is the motto here!! But then my pen died as I was signing the log sheet!! Argh! Took a photo in case. TFTC Made An Impression! (MAI) Two mystery caches to go!

This was second on my soggy sojourn around this part of the NP today. It had me going for a few moments with plenty of hidey-holes for a cache but in the end, I put my trust in 2upoj after which I spotted some geocamouflage and that had me signing the log at 12:05.

TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks ahomburg.

Hurrah!

Visited at the old GZ back in 2018 - yep, pre-spicy-cough for those old enough to remember!!

At the time we were a little over halfway to qualification, and jested that another 3 years would see us qualify … as it happened we were only a few months out!

A push that saw some high-loved finds while in Adelaide back in Adelaide got us close and tonight I re-re-rechecked the checker, and got a green tick!!!

TFTC and great challenge - been a lot of fun to work toward this!!!!

Found and signed with dalerious on a wonderful weekend finding and signing the DM series, as well as some strategically hand picked gems that are all adding up to us claiming some beaut challenge caches.
I have a little to go on this one, but the fun is in doing the homework to get me there, and of course having a partner like mine helps Razz.
Thank you ahomburg Smile.

Well catnap777 and I put our names on this log. [^] It was the 2nd cache of the day for us but neither of us are close to being able to claim it. Red Face

It has taken me awhile, but I finally qualify for this one.
I signed it back on 28 Aug 2019, and have slowly been collecting caches that qualify and after our trip last weekend into NSW we collected the last 3 caches that we needed, and now have exactly 152 caches that qualify.

Thanks for the cache A Homburg.

TFTC! A great little walk through here!
GPS jumped around a bit, so we split up to cover some ground here. After about 10 minutes we spotted what we had missed! Signed the cache. We certainly have enough caches found to satisfy this challenge. See the note for the qualifying caches.

I found this cache today on My Mount Dandenong Walks and Wanders. A quick walk in before heading home again. I think that we have one of the higher numbers on this challenge to date. At least till some of the really big number teams get in here. Probably helped on some of the popular caches that we have found overseas. Thanks from D B-A

I'm short 43 caches in qualifying for this challenge. Hopefully will be able to log by the end of the year . . . Seeing as I was walking past I signed the log anyway. My sister-in-law stood at the top of the track and pointed me towards the hint object. It's cut off very close to the ground so you don't really need to look too far in. Was a treat to be out walking in this part of the park again.

Another drive around this area today and taking some different roads than the ones we travelled the other day while following Puffing Billy! I don't quite qualify for this one yet, Project-GC telling me have Found 120 qualifying caches so far out of 150.
I eventually found this cache, on the opposite side of the track to my GPS coords but it took a lot of searching, and only after refreshing the cache page did I read that the GZ had changed.
Thx Atsmug for this challenge, another one to work towards now that I've signed the log. What a busy little track it was today too, with a lot of people out enjoying the beautiful weather on this public holiday. Cheers!

When I read what was required for this challenge I didn't expect that we would qualify for a while, but surprise surprise according to Project-GC Challenge Checker we have qualified for this challenge. I enjoyed reflecting on some of the caches on the list and it reminds me of the many enjoyable adventures we've had, including signing this log and enjoying the challenge of solving and finding some of the many DM mystery caches.
We also picked up a pathtag from this cache to add to our collection.
Thanks again for the challenge.

While out with Spiffy we noticed this nearby and we both qualified for. I had 500 finds on 150 caches.

Noticed at GZ the tree no longer exists just the stump. But easily found.

Thanks to ahomburg for the placement and fun.

Fleabag- the social butterfly had a Xmas party in the afternoon to attend so we spent a few hours in the morning up in the cooler hills of the Dandenongs doing mostly lab caches before he had to head off to start drink beer.

A track we have parked at a few times now and after a small walk we soon had the cache found. I remember having a lot taller shoulders than a few inches high last time I saw you. Smile

Thanks ahomburg.

Our first catch up with our favourite caching buddies after the lockdown on this lovely fresh, sunny day, meandering our way through the Dandenong Ranges. With anikano, Pacman and Jacko83 we tested our fitness on this 16 km circuit after many months of being housebound through this lush stunning rainforest, collecting most caches a long the way.
This one was missing in action due to some tree chopping but thanks to the CO for replacing and allowing us to log.

Out on my own today with the challenge to clear out more in the Dandenongs. I thought I should qualify for this one. After an extended Covid lockdown which included 2 weeks in hotel quarantine, I was glad to get out onto the tracks again with good mates Jacko, Tritonz and Anikano.
Today's effort was a 6-hour 16km hike where the hills really started taking their toll on a weary iso-body Smile.

I qualify easily for this challenge with double the numbers required but unfortunately the bigger challenge was finding the container at a GZ which seemed like it had been the victim of some recent logging.
Of course I've never found 75,000 caches and I don't think I'd actually want to - it's hard enough logging just 5000 over a few years Big Grin. I'm still trying to log caches dating back to 2018! As it turns out about 1000 of those outstanding logs are from European trips where the caches have a relatively higher number of finds due to the obviously higher population densities. Now in our Covid days with closed borders we can only dream of those international trips. Actually even travelling locally isn't really possible right now Big Grin!

On the plus side we have a lot of space and solitude - and caches with few finds - here down under. Like right here in these Dandenong Ranges.

Thanks anyway, ahomburg - I'll be back to this GZ.

Checked Project-GC, I'm happy that I'm qualified for this challenge. Took me a while to find the cache as my GPS was playing up and putting me other side of the path, no luck then looking at my GPS and oh it is other side. Neat hide. Thanks ahomburg for the challenge and placing the cache.

Nice day out exploring. I’d forgotten how fabulous the forest is up here - big trees an understatement. Mission today is to collect a few and up the average D/T rating plus get a few more “larges” so these are perfect for a sunny day. I’ll be back for more when I get a good run and work out best entry points for the bike given the impending hill climbs. TFTC challenge. Guess I’ve chosen some beauties!

Having been for a walk around the Rhododendron Gardens, we decided to make a slight detour here to look for this cache.
This was a familiar location from a trip a few years ago before this cache was placed, and on this sunny afternoon was an ideal to visit. Taking a look on project-gc I see that I meet the requirements, this was a fun cache to find.

Thanks to ahomburg for the challenge and for placing this cache.

I was nearby taking in the serenity but after completing that I noticed this one one the map nearby that I have qualified for so in between rain showers I went for a stroll along this road to GZ.
Initially for me GZ was indicated as being on the high side but after referring to the hint I figured that I needed to go to the low side and the cache was found.
In the end I had 6 metres which wasn’t as bad as the start.

Today was a dull, dreary, dismal day at the start. It was also cold, windy and wet and don't forget the fog! There was no blue sky or sun all day. But some caching still happened along wet muddy bush tracks, walking with ilook4geo.
It was a good find, log was signed and then it was off to slosh further along the muddy route as far as we wanted to go for the morning. The bush area is really beautiful with lovely tall trees.
Thank you ahomburg for creating this challenge and for showing us this area.

After checking out the nearby virtual cache at the National Rhododendron Garden, we had some lunch in Olinda and then had a wander around the shops. Now on our way home, we stopped off occasionally to take a few short walks and find a few more cool caches. I was here a little while ago and missed this one. Back today as I qualify for this one easily - with 400 caches. Thanks for the cache ahomburg.

I don't normally cache out this way but with a bit of spare time had targetted a few hides around here to fill some missing months on my months found calendar. After finding those I scanned around for some other interesting hides and spotted this nearby challenge cache. I didn't think I would qualify for this one when I looked at it but when I checked I had 206 caches that met the requirement. I've found a fair chunk of the Woodlands series which helped bump my number up but also quite a few of the ones listed on the cache page. A nice quick find at gz once I made my way down there, thanks for the cache ahomburg.

I have a long way to go, but scrambling through vegetation is always fun.

After the CO had departed for the day the rest of us kicked on for a little bit. This took a little bit of finding as my GPSr had me heading up the hill rather than down onto the low side. Lukie1987 made the find and we all stamped or signed our names. Although I don't yet qualify I imagine that this'll be the quickest challenge cache by the CO to qualify for if I put any effort in as Woodlands would have sufficient numbers to get me over the line.

Don’t know if I am happy or sad to see another cache that doesn’t belong to my in my forest.
Anyway according to the checker at the time of writing, I met the requirements with 344 caches that had been found the required number of times.

Cache was found on the lower side of the track and was shaped for the pleasure of the ladies.

I had spent many hours sitting on the road here. A powerful owl used to roost here and I would watch it devouring its nightly possum. I also spent much time going through its pellets )vomit) hoping to find signs of broad toothed rats that are probably now extinct from the area due to burning practices.

About 30m back up the road is easy access to the rhododendron garden over or under the fence as a short cut.

lower side of track. Ladies shouldnlike that shaped cache. Powerful owl tree

Than you to the previous finder who made the search just a bit easier. I too was on the wrong side of the road until reading his log. A simple find in the end.

And nice to see one of my caches on that all time list!

With a family trip planned up to the hills for a few nights it was good to get out and walk in this great area. Even though I used to live up this way, I had never walked in this area. The geo family were excited to get out even with the terrible weather we are having at the moment. This one gave us all sorts of bother. We were searching in all the wrong spots for over 20 mins before I put a message through to the CO who was only too happy to help us out. We were on the wrong side of the path and the GPSr wanted us about 12-15 meres away but with the overcast skies I'm not surprised. A massive thanks to the CO for the help. Nice to have this challenge ticked off

**Thanks to ahomburg for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy**
**A favourite for the challenge**

We found The 75,000 Cache Find Challenge after our nieces wedding. Without the kids it was a great afternoon to pick up a few selected caches

It took quite a bit for the iPhone gps to settle and we examined twenty plus trees. Again, ignoring our devices and using good old geosense, I then quickly made the find.

FTF Found at 9.50p.m.
I almost missed this one as I dismissed it from my phone with some other junk emails before it was brought to my attention some time later by Geoturtle37.
A 5 minute drive and a short stroll found me at gz where the cache was soon found after letting the phone settle down for a minute.. Woohoo FTF. Thanks for the cache ahomburg.
