" Another great find! Love discovering these hidden treasures while out and about. Always impressed by the creativity and thought that goes into each cache. Thanks for the fun adventure and keeping the geocaching spirit alive! Ninjas "
What a great cache. Happened to stop for a pee stop on the way north and checked on the cache map, as I haven't cached in this town before. Seeing this was so close, just had to call in and grab this. Loved how simple it is and that the staff were aware of it and let me borrow a pen. Thanks for bringing me in. Adding to my favs.
Really cool to have one in here...The lady on security said she knew what we were up to!Turns out she is connected to the Nicholson_family.!
So cool to have a cache here. Great that there was a security guard who knew what we were doing.
What a awesome find! Largest one Ive ever seen.thanks to the bodyguard who gave us more than a hint told that her family did geocaching as well and that they had 3 or 4000 finds.Right here at the info centre.
Up this way with ABCDF4 for the Easter weekendNice and quite up here so far as it Good FridayGreat wee hide not been in this place before great idealThanks
I had signed up for The Wild Kiwi 15km trail run around Mt Lion at Whangarei Heads. Didn't really want to drive up from Auckland on the morning of the race so I took Friday off work to spend some time caching in Whangarei. Was more grateful for this decision when the Brynderwyn Hills closure was announced, which would add on an extra half hour to the trip.I left Auckland around 5am and I arrived at the iSite shortly after opening. Saw the security guard and really hoped that he wasn't going to hinder my search. Took a look around and figured out what the hint meant and then quickly spotted the cache. Had to wait out a muggle and one of the staff who were talking right by the cache. Once they finished I was able to swoop in and sign the cache.
Love these ones. 4Clubs and I are travelling around Northland and this is day two. Dropped off a couple of TBs to continue their journey. TFTC
With a morning spare to do some caching I set about trying to knock off some previously solved puzzles and others along the way. Well the GZ was a busy wee spot today, so Im pleased the occupants were well aware of this box. Theres always an extra frisson of excitement with indoor caches. Thanks Riser5 for organising this one. #4861Logged using Cachly.
Very cool hide! I did ask as I was the only visitor with three staff and they were all keen to help me! TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
Found during our roadtrip around Nz. This is our second day in a 24 day trip. Also our first cache this time in Nz. Thanks for this one!
Visiting from Colorado USA. Thank you for placing this cache and helping to keep our recreation going.
Called in at the iSite on our way back to Auckland this afternoon and we quickly spotted this large cache in the corner. One of the staff came over and was interested to hear more about Geocaching, so we gave her a quick overview with the app. Great to hear the CO talk this afternoon about his plans for this series. TFTC!
With Vistra visiting family in Whangarei for the night. Managed to attend Riser5's Maker event this afternoon and then stopped off at the i-Site to find this cache. The lovely lady working inside came over and chatted to us as we were signing the logbook and was very interested to learn more about geocaching and what it involved. We retrieved a TB and will take it with us on our travels to the UK when we go next weekend. A cool hide. TFTC
Needed a cache today to fill in a loop 2 dot day, so being as I was passing by on a rare, "not working from home day", decided to call in and sign off.
Really nice sized cache with lots of goodies. The two I-site employees were intrigued, as I was the first geocacher they had encountered actually signing the log, whilst they were working. Explained some of the intricacies of our great game to them both. Left the two trackables there for someone else to move on. TFTC

After two dnfs with wasps and mosquitoes, it was a pleasant surprise to walk straight up to this one in comfort. Tftc
TFTC! Had a lovely chat to the staff in there. Dropped off a TB to carry on its travels
Heading north on a road trip with 8 others from the Auckland Uni tramping club! We stopped for lunch here and wandered over to find this one and check out the i-site. Nice easy find Dropped a TB
Thanks! (#1785)

This one has been on my "to do" list for awhile but getting to the iSite during business hours is the problem. Today I was showing I was showing a newby to geocaching who works with me how the game works.
We decided that a lunchtime cache hunt for their first cache would be a good idea and this cache is close by (and a good size). A quick find as soon as we walked into the iSite, it was just unfortunate that the two geocoins that were listed as at the cache were gone as it would have been good to show these to a geocaching convert.

This school holidays we are finishing the PWGT in Northland. As we left Christchurch early, both drivers were tired, one took a nap while the other watch little cacher in the playground, and then took him for this indoor cache. We were greeted by a "Hi, are you looking for something?" "Found it" said little cacher as he saw the cache from a distance. Really nice container, of course in good condition. We came in Northland 2 years ago and know where we want to go and what to see, but definitely a great idea to place a cache here!
Easy find, hidden in plain sight, lots to trade! The description and hint were very helpful!!

Master 3yr old wanted to go for a bike ride and since this cache was on our route we decided to grab it! A quick find while the toddler looked at brochures
On my way back home to Auckland and work this afternoon, so a bit of a drive ahead of me
Well I initially was on the outside of the building, then read the cache page, and knew I had to go inside
Spotted the cache straight away, and was soon signing the log.
Did not see any TB inside sadly?
Cache all good, grabbed a couple of brochures too, as I have some more caching adventures planned in and around Whangarei.
Thanks Riser5 for this cool hide

1766. 11:39 am. A purposeful trip and find to drop-off a trackable that we picked up in the South Island. eKitten had insisted that we take the trackable with us and she was going to "retrieve" it from me and place it. A great geocache, especially for trackables that want to travel. TFT(iSite)C.
I had arranged to meet Mr and Mrs KC in Whangarei to pick up some recently published puzzles and this was a great place to meet and find a cache at the same time. Got here just after opening and the lady behind the counter was lovely and we soon had the log book signed and then off for our days adventure.

A quick find and had a lovely chat with the lady behind the counter who is now a cacher too since this cache was placed. TFTC
It took me a while to realise that it was inside But I found it in the end and it is fun!
Travel to Whangarei and Ngunguru today, and a couple for finds whilst transiting up from Auckland. This Large and Riser5 cache was appealing and soon parked in the car park and headed into the GZ after a visit to the IP address. The ladies were interactive but I'd already sighted the prize and dived in for the signing and enjoyment. I grabbed the 2 resident TBs and will take them South with me over the next short while. Nice idea for a series and . . . . 'it wouldn't be a trip to Northland without a Riser5 cache' Part 127,586.
A road trip over the next few days, we have a few days off work booked and are heading up country to Northland, via my Aunt's in Auckland then a couple of days in Mount Maunganui before heading home. Despite it being a target rich environment there are not too many targets, just a few odds and sods when passing will do, thanks to all COs for their cache hides.

Great initiative to create a cache in the I-Site!
It’s awesome to chat with the staff there as the CO has clearly turned her into a full on cacher now! She’s clearly loving it!
This will be a perfect place for traveling trackables!
Thanks for the excellent cache!

What a fabulous idea this one is, an opportunity for us to have a look at what is on offer to do in this part of the country. Unfortunately time does not allow us to do too much looking around, we just visited a couple of spots that were on our really want to do list.
The lady was on the phone while we found and signed the log, we took a trackable and left one. By the time we had finished with the cache she had finished with the phone call so we had a wee chat - a really lovely person who is a great ambassador for your area.
Then it was time to get on the road again and head for the next destination.
We are in the North Island to try to complete the PWGT Tahi section so we are having to head to the far north. Along the way we will pick up a few other caches that take our interest such as those with lots of favourites or size large or letterbox caches or some that will just help us to fulfil some of the various challenges we are working on.
With the new souvenir challenge we need to use the app to log the finds, but as I like to waffle on and write my stories on my laptop I am writing these while back at the campervan.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
