After a short hike found the cache.

Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!

No tennis today so the next best thing to do is to go geocaching with friends Peppa and TMZ59. Decided to chase down caches for a few challenges we have been working on on this road trip.

Mudlo Road is rich in targets for us, but it’s taken over 4 hours to get here from Nanango… there was one or two caches along the way…

After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed out this morning along Mudlo Rd. Another great country drive with good containers and good coords, which always makes the experience nicer.

No problems finding the caches and once the logs were signed all were returned as found.

If a cache needed attention that was done too.

Luckily Mrs VC is a nanny (goat that is ) & fairly surefooted which made access a little easier.

##Note to CO's of caches along Mudlo Road Kilkivan & not within a national park boundary.##
###(This is one such cache).###
We were approached today by a person purporting to be an owner of property along this stretch of road. She took great pains to explain that the road reserve here is 5 metres wide, and that some caches placed here are actually much further than 5 metres from the road.

She stressed that these caches are therefore on private property and asked us to move any we found any that were incorrectly placed.

Most of the caches we found were OK, but a few were quite a distance from the road. (Caches up side tracks are NOT OK).

We didn't move any, but if your cache is more than 5 metres from the main road - please do something about moving it.

Day 2 of the New Year event at Kilkivan. Having a wonderful time meeting new cachers as well as catching up with some old faces.
Today Ms Maddy, TripleTurmoil, CHAMAD and myself piled into the car and headed out for some new caches, and to collect some oldies. There were a couple of things which happened today, these will remain firmly implanted for quite a while to come. These events added to a super fun day with great caches and fantastic company.
This was a quick find, log signed, cache replaced as found.

A lovely drive out along this country road collecting caches and we have started at the end working our way back to Kilkivian. Cache found, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Youngoldfella for placing all these caches.

After a big day of caching yesterday and a good night sleep it was time to do it all over again. The plan today was to grab some caches along Mudlo road and get a couple of ftf’s. Same team as yesterday and Willis007 offered to drive, we also had a new inclusion, 4Hawkers joined us today. A fun morning and a lot of chatter along the way as these three girls can talk alot, lol.

The trip was entertaining, the variety of caches was nice and they were all found in good condition, the scenery was varied and spectacular along this road; what an awesome area, thank you.

Thank you to all the CO’s for placing caches along this road, I really enjoyed the drive along here and finding your caches.

When we were driving out on this road the only dangerous thing I feared we might encounter is a fresh cow-pad. Not the ones that are days old and hard enough for a game of disc-golf, but the ones that are so sloppy that not even Goldilocks would have thought they were “just” right.

Who knew we would encounter some sort of hill and on just our second cache of the day. Suddenly sticking my foot in a fresh pile of sh*t didn’t seem so bad. The hill wasn’t that steep, is just caught us by surprise, like a pregnancy. tftc

Second day of visiting this lovely small township of Kilkivan and surrounding areas with hatzofff and RoddyC. Still collecting the newly released caches and picking up some of the older ones.
All hides were great, nice and quick to find & my apologies for the generic logs but I do appreciate all the time & effort that has gone into placing the caches for everyones enjoyment.

Out caching for the day cycling from Kilkivan out on the quiet Mudlo Road, a great ride through the national park and rural properties with a couple of steep climbs to make a good day. .

Catching up on some logging for the last day of the year while hunting for caches out of the Kilkivan area with ilook4geo. This was one of the caches we found on a day that started out with fine misty rain. That soon cleared up and the hunt went on. All logs were found to be in good condition, as were the containers. Thanks go to Sweet-Sour for this cache placement.

Today started out a bit cooler, so it was cache hunting time again with goingplaces2. Found a good selection around Kilkivan to add lots more smileys to the map. Log was signed, job done! TFTC.

A big day out around the Kilkivan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up.

Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a good day of searching. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine . Looking forward to the next catch-up event.

TFTC. Day 3 of our caching trip away from our Bundaberg housesit. We shifted camp from Goomeri to Kilkivan where we are camped at Weir Oval. The route today was to go out on Muldo Road and then stop and relax, but that never happened we kept going . Had a great day 43 attempted and found. Thanks to the COs for helping us to enjoy the area. All caches were relatively quick finds.

Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. All were easy find with no maintenance issues. TFTC

Tuesday. Another cache to find on New Year’s Day . It’s been rather humid and a bit of a stinker of a day heat wise, but thankfully, Selva Girl’s car had good air con. As we came to the end of the road so to speak, we jumped out and did a short stroll up the hillside which was covered in lovely green grass and we made the find, signed our names into the log. I actually thought it must have been private land in this spot at first, but it was a nice walk to the rocks I reckon anyway. Must say one thing for all this humidity, it’s making me feel lighter! Found the suspicious looking spot and signed the log.

This was the 16th of 21 caches found on today's trip.

My back was still playing up, but not too bad when I woke up this morning. So I headed off to meet up with Slow Puncture to do the caches along Mudlo Road. This was the next cache along the road and it was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

We, being Goblindust and ourselves headed over to the New year day event at Kilkivan. It was a good catch up and there was the bonus of plenty of new caches to find. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this cache, the area around here is so pretty and the Mudlo National Park was certainly worth a visit. Thankyou Sweet-Sour for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area

Absolutely loved this series. The scenery was a hidden gem that I know we will be back for. Using the list provided by the event holders from the Kilkivan New Year catch-up event we made our way along this road through the undulating national park. Joint **FTF** while in town for the Kilkivan NYE event.

Drove up from Canberra to Caloundra, to stay with my parents for the Christmas school holidays.
While I was up here I also went to Kilkivan for the New Year Cache Up event/weekend.
This was the first day of caching for the event - today I headed out with Grannysmith1947 (and her Geodog - Millie), to find this bunch of caches that were listed for today (Sat 29th).
