Logs
Rusty?? Perhaps "rusted" based on previous logs....T4TC, which has all but disintergrated.
Found It!Nice spot for a walk. The coordinates seem a little out but I soon found it after reading through some of the previous logs.TFTC
Not sure if its still here or if this cross has anything to do with it,, so many spiders though
After the nearby event this morning I drove down to find a few caches in this area. A nice short walk to this one but then it took me a while to find the cache. I looked around for a while and eventually looked back through the logs. A posted photo eventually helped me locate the correct spot but retrieving the cache was still quite tricky. Thanks theknownunknowns for the cache and thanks SaintsMadHouse for the replacement.
22/7/2023 Find #6330
Backburning has been done through here. While there is signs of “Rusty”, there was only the remnants of a ziplock back with a trade in it.
SaintsMadHouse was happy to leave an eclipse mint tin here until CO can get out and replace.
Thanks for the cache theknownunknowns.

Found the remains of a log in a burnt out bag with a trade. Sad to see. Left our names in a new eclipse tin beside the burnout cache remains. This will

I had to grab a couple of caches today for a challenge I have set myself. I saw three caches in an area that would do nicely. Unfortunately, one was a DNF but the other two were nice little cache grabs. The title made this one an easy find and once on site the hint was a bonus. This one was a little exposed, so I ended up putting a little cover over it just in case.
I signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for placing this one here.

Out with geo-friends to turn a few green spots into Smilies.
I had to watch my footing as I went in search of this one as my wonky knee doesn't always play the same game as me.
Cache quickly found, log signed then all replaced as found. TFTC

Tanks for showing us Rusty today. Even though it was a bit warmish, it was pleasant enough.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on 19th February 2023. TFTC, theknownunknown.

Out finding a few caches with Mr CuriousQuest. I parked the geomobile and we took a short stroll in the bush to GZ. There, my caching buddy quickly located the cache. We added our names to the log, returned everything as found then continued on our way. TFTC
Out today with Selva Girls to pick up some caches. A nice quick find; log signed and cache returned as found. TFTC
I forgot to mention that my friend grabbed the cache before I did and doesn’t understand geocaching and mistook the filled out log (and the bag it was in) into the place where it is hidden if you get what I mean. The new log is till inside. The old one should still be in there just not in the cache, sorry.
I saw the point of interest about 20m away from the location of the map. Quick and easy find but never the less a great experience as my second cache.
Pretty quick find when getting to gz. Not a fan of where it was placed but happy it wasn't the time for snakes to be out and about . Already had a scare with something similar a couple of months back. The log needs replacing as it is saturated , I left a piece of paper with our names on in a little bag . Thank you
Caching around the area this morning and this was one on the radar. I wish we had read the logs before visiting as we would have replaced for the CO.
All wet and soggy and will need some maintenance. If we get a chance we will come back and replace.

Very wet and can't sign. We put the container back together and re-hid it. Nice spot for a cache.
Found a log in a bag but no container. There was a container in the tank but beyond my reach. No sign of a lid though. Thanks for the cache
Going south this morning.

A very pleasant morning our and about with NurseyJulie gathering caches to glean the wonders souvenirs. A nice short walk from where we parked, a very likely hiding area was identified on approach and proved to be spot on. NJ spied the cache and moved in to extract the log and etch our names. All done, her phone pinged and she alerted me to new COVID-19 restrcitions taking immediate effect in Brisbane. Lucky we weren't in a group of ten or more I say... Back to the caching.
Cheers theknownunknowns.

A meet up with Gunnie69 today. Our mission was to get the wonders of the world souvenirs. We parked up in the nearby street and headed in. I saw the likely rusty object and circumnavigated to discover the cache and sign the log. TFTC
It's Monday, which means I meet up with my muggle friend in Calamvale and we head off for a walk locally. I said we should check out 'the bushland behind the gate at the corner' and we knew what that meant. I drove us down to the gate opposite the corner of Gowan Road and Illaweena Street and we headed through and off on an unplanned route.
Once before I've been here to check out the wildlife overpass and the new construction, but no farther. In that location today was a few kangaroos, but who knows if they've utilised the bridge or not. Onwards, towards the Gateway.
Though unmarked, satellite view does show the track following the Gateway and eventually the Logan. A bit before we got to the pedestrian overpass, we turned right to head vaguely back towards the car. And, I happened to notice this geocache icon on the map here. Rightio!
Muggle friend is always keen to find them when we go looking. The rusty beast was spotted and she headed in, closely followed by me. She peered in the obvious location and while I was trying to not interfere, I kicked a spot that happened to be hiding the geocache. It was all but out in the open!
Nobody should have difficulty finding this geocache! She opened it and I snapped a photo (having forgotten a pen). All replaced as found, we headed more north and followed a few streets back to the car. Nice to explore this new patch of bush and a bonus smiley along the way. Thanks for this geocache, theknownunknowns

Out chasing AdLab caches & throwing in a few Trads along the way.
18 of 20 found today.
No wallabies, snakes OR spiders here today, just a quick stroll to GZ where the cache was quickly located.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Upon approach, the name made sense. Just damp paper inside container. Managed to sign though.
Nice patch of bushland in suburbia.
Looked in all the wrong spots until there it was just sitting on the ground. Odd to see a cactus out here.

Easy to find. We rode our bikes up the dirt track and it was a short walk into the bush.
Out and about with joojoo57 and Richmond Lad.
We saw a nice path which seemed to go in the wrong direction, so took the direct route through the bush. Richmond Lad led the way and made the find. And of course we found the easy way back to the car TB drop. TFTC, theknownunknowns.

Out caching with joojoo57 and IolantheK and this was the first cache of the day. From where we entered the bushland we could not see a track so we ventured in the direction the GPS indicated. Ginally made it to GZ and cache was found quickly. Signed the log book and waked out of the bush along a track. TFTC
Out caching this morning with IolantheK and Richmond Lad and this was the closest to base and first on the list. We bush bashed our way to GZ and made a quick find then noticed the well worn path back to the road entrance. Thanks.
Went out today to grab a cache to fill a day I needed for a challenge.
This one is the closest to home.
A nice walk in to GZ and cache found easily.
SL then returned as found but covered with nature's camo as it was very obvious by the colour.

The container was open and empty but has now been restocked with paper. Make sure to take pen
We couldn't find a clear path in but that didnt stop us from gently bush bashing our way into cache's name sake. We did several circuits with no luck so we broadened our search area and soon had cache in hand
Log signed and cache replaced as found. All good here.

Out for a bit of a ride. Some caches to hunt and a bit of cache maintenance to do nearby too.
Not the easiest to get to on a bike. I abandoned Evie at the fence and made my way to GZ on foot. I did a lap of Rusty before venturing further for the find.

I too saw this one published last night and my unusually enthusiastic hubby suggested we go for it ?! Ummm no it’s in the bush! Fast forward to this morning, I was getting ready for an appointment which got cancelled . I jumped in the with surprisingly nil found logs and made my way to the closest side street. Little did I know Mr Crew 153 was also on the hunt! I had a short walk through the bush and came across no less, the CO’s themselves! lovely to meet you all. I set across looking for the cache near a likely namesake and was quickly rewarded with a cute lil cache. I signed the log added a soccer ️ ball adding to the swag and replaced as found. A FP to kick things off for this great little geocache
Well that was a comedy of errors but I still got a *FTF*. It is 2 years since my last FTF.
I read my emails at 9am this morning and the notification for this one came through at 11pm last night. I checked and found there were no logs on it so I decided that I would take the short drive to check it out.
Well, I had a quick look at the map before I left and decided that the cache was located in Karawatha Forest. I hadn't loaded the coordinates into the navigator so I drove down Illaweena Street towards Karawatha only to find that it is closed at the motorway. No worries, I can walk in from Compton Road. I drove up to there and parked. I loaded my pack and then put the coordinates into the Oregon and started heading towards the entrance when I noticed that the GPS was pointing me in a different direction. I checked the map closely and saw the actual location of the cache, Duh!!!..
Back into the car and back to Illaweena Street. I still didn't have accurate directions and took a street heading in the right direction and found an access gate. I checked the GPS again. 350m away. There should be a closer access point than that.. Back to Illaweena Street and took the next access and found another gate. Only 150m this time. Off we go.
The batteries died in the GPS so I finished the walk using the phone app. I never trust the accuracy of the app but I soon spotted the object of the cache and started searching around there. 10 minutes later, after spending some time on my hands and knees I decided that I should do some wandering. I also checked the app and it was pointing elsewhere.
Finally, I spotted the cache completely uncovered and shining brightly. I opened it up to find a blank log sheet. I signed it 11 hours after the notification came out. I was surprised that no one had been here before me.
Thanks theknownunknowns. I noticed as I was driving out that there are a few other places that could do with a cache so look forward to your next hide..
