Reperio 12:14Today was Day 2 of our return to Newcastle escapade caching trip, and Master Vitruvius and I started on some caches around the Cessnock/Maitland area. We decided to finally tackle the R&D series today, and along side navigating some of the dangerous and at times illegal places to park, we managed to get through the series pretty well, and found most of the caches in good condition. It was nice to be able to revisit this area again after moving away. Gratias kingfisher_auAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
From here on in, its all about the numbers. Had lunch, now to get cracking on with this little series. It is a really good series for the beginner, as it gives a variety of hides that we come across every day. The road is very busy, so its good to see plenty of parking available at each stop.
"and of his malice aforethought", "been shot in the temple, and to have fallen dead at once" I just love these words. Thanks for the historical account. Fav from me mainly for the series, but description is worthy.

Dnf looked everywhere and only found a squashed tin, not sure if it was it. Way to busy on the road.

Road to Maitland by Kingfisher_au
On holidays in Nelson Bay we (me and my junior cacher, Andy) decided to take a day trip to Maitland to chase some caches. Target one was the Road to Maitland where we sought out the 19 caches on the map (what happened to #4?). With 17 of the 19 caches we looked for found it was a successful hit out. Thanks to Kingfisher for this trail from there we headed into Maitland Park to chase the four caches there...
#1, #2 - Found
#3 - DNF, is it still there?
#5 - Found
#6 - DNF, is it still there?
#7, #8 - Found
#9 - Found, but watch the spiders!
#10 - Found, niche cache but log not in shape to extract and sign.
#11 - Found two cache containers at this GZ! Signed both logs.
#12 to #20 - Found

I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 2 was the dogs head series and three other series around Kurri Kurri. The R&D caches and many other Maitland caches are absolutely fantastic containers showing great creativity with new tools.
Thanks for the cache kingfisher_au
