With Christmas approaching, my bathroom scales are quivering in fear at thought of the damage my usual Christmas excesses might bring. I have been attempting a pre-emptive strike on my waistline. So when Seffnjarah suggested we go chasing few lonely hiking type caches, I enthusiastically agreed as it seemed a good way to up the step count.I had a late night last night at a concert, so Seff was left in charge of todays cache target list. He decided that a Hinterland Hilltop tour was in order - and selected a number of the Gold Coast Hinterland's finest hills for us to climb.Having climbed our last hill nearby up to Bally Mountain Saddle, I was pretty cooked and made Seff promise for park and grabs on the way home. Like this one and the nearby banana cache. I have never had much success with bamboo and it was no different today. Not certain whether we ere supposed to clamber in or stay on the path. Did a bit of both. Pete[13:34]
G'day,This geocache appears to be in need of owner maintenance. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the geocache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the geocache from being archived for non-responsiveness.If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date.Cheers,Jingeri
Over 4 weeks since 'Owner attention requested' log, no evidence of any maintenance being done
Can the CO please check on this cache after 4 DNFS and the cache hasnt been found since December 2020.
Came back to have another look. The neighbours dog was watching but didnt give me any clues and the only thing I could find was my reading glasses that had fallen out of my pocket and didnt realise
Had a good look around. turned things over. Picked things up. Looked inside things and still no luck for me today
Very sneaky hiding place. I’m glad there is a team of us otherwise I won’t find it.

We came here a couple of days ago and searched far and wide. Krcamber found something that had promise, but no cache. PAF’d and received some guidance. Oh we had been so close! Back here today for a second, more concentrated look and finally we had it!! Krcamber signed and returned this fabulously camo’d cache. TFTC!
Oh man, this cache. I’ve been here multiple times since it was published with absolutely no luck. Came with Swearah who had fresh eyes a couple of days ago and still nothing. Finally reached out to a previous finder for some help and came back today with a new perspective. We found what we thought was spot on, but nothing....and then Swearah pointed to something different and said, ‘hey, try that’. What do you know.....BINGO! Finally!! I’m so glad to have located this sneaky bugger. Very clever Auswanders, as always! FP for the torture. TFTC!
Have checked again after DNFs from some illustrious cachers. Still there so have raised the D to a 3.
Another Auswanderers cache? A trail of DNFs!!!! Oh no!!!
It took me ages to find this. I'm hopeless caching alone so I asked for help before hunting. Even that, I almost gave up! One more try and a bit of feel. Ah, there you are, what a relief!
TFTC Auswanderers. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Cheers, E

I didn’t want to step too far off the path because I was afraid of wrecking the bush. The GPS kept bringing me to the same spot but I couldn’t see it. Good to come out to this part of the GC.
After a lazy morning Wayn0 and I decided to avenge a couple of DNFs.
Yep. Here we were again. Scratching our heads and the grass and ground for a while. Then suddenly I noticed something a little odd. Could it be? I somehow knew it had to be, as I went up to it and decided to play percusively with the camo before touching the cache itself. Booyah!
Nice one.

Found it! After our recent DNF and confirmation the cache was in place we returned for another search. During our first look we were too fixed on what we thought we were looking for. We were also fixed on a particular elevation. With our new thoughts we explored greater options and the cache was found in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Cheers

After more DNFs, checked this one today and all is well. Have raised the D rating 1/2 star due to the number of DNFs.
Trial - because we spent half an hour here and didn't find it. The hint didn't make sense as there was none there. And the D rating and last paragraph in the description made it seem like we should not have been there so long with no result. Oh well. Another time perhaps.
Temporarily disabled while cache is replaced. Original location has been removed, will be back soon.
Out caching with joojoo57 and Aussie Liahona. Arrived at GZ. We searched for sometime before a PAF. Got approval from CO after sending photo to show what we found/ could not find. Thanks Auswanders for allowing us to log.
Trail or Trial?! A bit of both here so we guess the cache is very well named. This one is the last of the day so we didn't have to hurry on to any other. The mosquitos tried to convince us to move along and without any preventative with us we had to endure their hunger. We spent quite a bit of time searching before finally trusting to a PAF. Our PAF was hiking up a mountain and was a bit breathless and distracted. We felt we were very lucky to get some instructions but unfortunately they didn't help. As we described the location the memory of our PAF held a different picture from what we were experiencing. But with the bit of help we ended up discovering the previous hide location but it had been pillaged. Bl**dy pirates! I took some photos that I sent to the CO the following day after our PAF very, very, kindly attended the location to confirm the right cache holder and the change in the scenery at GZ. The CO was alerted and they very kindly allowed us to log.
Many thanks Auswanderers!

After Richmond Lad met up with us at the last cache we thought 3 sets of eyes would be very helpful at this cache as well. Did an extensive search and PAF as well. Found something we thought would contain a cache but no log found - sent photo to CO who has given us permission to log as found. Thank you Auswanderers.
Checked and definitely still there. As earlier cachers mentioned, co-ords spot on and all okay.
In the area this morning after finding a cache in the nearby Hinterland regional park and thought this one wouldn't be as arduous to get to as the last one. Arriving at GZ I had an idea but nothing stood out and checking the terrain and hint again I focused elsewhere which certainly paid off as coords were perfect on this cleverly hidden camo'd cache.
Well done and a favorite point from me.

Went for a wander as near we were staying with Grandchildren. Our second attempt as a few weeks back we saw a snake in the grass and as we were from NZ were nervous of going further. TFTC

Sunday. Joint (FTF). I was out with R.I.O. today and after we’d attended an event down the road from this cache, saw that it was still unfound! After checking the terrain rating, I headed up a bit, but not necessary in the end, my arrow was absolutely correct with GZ on this one! Raynersinoz made the find on this crafty / devious / well hidden cache! She was definitely wearing her caching glasses today
This was the 1st of 7 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Auswanderers***, for showing us this place.

*FTF* Whoa! What an adventure. Mrs Slow Puncture and I had attended a nearby CITO and I had noticed that the FTF on this one was still up for grabs. From the hint we had an idea of what we were looking for. OMG! It took us about 15 min but we just happened to notice something a little odd. Some fumbling around and we had a cache. Everything with this cache is spot on. A well-deserved favourite point for you Auswanderers, thanks for the meanie . Sorry about the terrible signatures - my excuse was that I didn’t have my glasses on. Oh and bring the mozzie repellent, they are vicious!
I was running out of allotted time for caching for the afternoon but decided that I would have a look for this one while I was in the area.
I headed up the trail and felt quite exposed on the trail but decided to head into a spot which gave me cover while I searched. I found one item wedged into the bank which I though may have been the cache but it wouldn't move and I could see no way to open it so I discounted it but I couldn't find anything else that looked like a cache.
One for my watch list.

The cache is there, the co-ords are good and the description states "in view" of neighbour's workshop, not "near"!
Well.... this cache is a bit of a mystery! Co-ords put me into the bamboo and gave it what I thought, a thorough search along the walkway looking behind trees etc. But then what troubled me was this was nowhere near the neighbours workshop. So I walked closer to that but this was over 30m away from GZ! Hmmmm.... tried to message the C.O. to clear up where I was really supposed to be searching but no response.
Oh well.... maybe the finder of this cache could let me know later.
