This cache was never on private property so clearly it's done a bit of traveling from where it was! I will move it back to it's original location just outside the property if I can locate it.
Sorry folks, we need to get along with the neighbors. If the cache owner can show permission for the cache placement from the owners of the orphanage/group home, we can look at this again. Please remove the container as soon as possible.

Well, Finalf29 and I had planned to kayak today but definitely not in this heat and wind... so what to do? What!!!... just realised it was 11 degrees cooler in Goulburn... OK time for another Goulburn raid. I had a wonderful afternoon finding an Adventure Lab, mystery, multis & trads and all with my best bud
What an interesting old building that dominates the landscape here. I have to admit my first thought was "oh no NOT ivy!" But I followed the hint and quickly had the cache in hand... probably made easier by a recent find. It was tucked in its hidey-hole but thankfully didn't need to any rummaging. Thanks

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Find number 4936.
A nice quick find while caching in and around Goulburn
Thanks JDogMonkey and The Cutlets for placing this cache.

Not as hard as the difficulty suggests. This is a good thing, as I was off for some more in the area. TFTC
A trip to Goulburn was on the radar. Popped down after work and collected nearly two dozen finds. Not a bad afternoon haul. Thanks For The Caches!
#5925 3rd for today
Logs stamped as "Kayak Cachers".
A short day trip out to Goulburn with CBRChic to grab some of the newer caches out this way and especially the new Adventure Lab cache. Weather was a bit mixed with some brief showers but it cleared to a warm but cloudy day.
A dark and brooding presence on this hill. A quick find.
Thanks JDogMonkey

We had a most enjoyable day of caching around Goulburn. We had a revisit to this location after a tip off and found though we had looked at the correct area we had not gone deep enough. Today we had success. Thanks to JDogMonkey for arranging this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Finding this cache took me way longer than it should have. What a sad looking place this is now. I'm thinking that in a lot of ways this would have been a sad place to be when it was a home for boys too. I noted from your cache description that this home was opened after the closure of the Dee Why Boy's Home. Our family grew up in the next suburb to Dee Why in Sydney. I wasn't aware that there had been a boys home there. Thanks for placing the cache here JDogMonkey and TheCutlets. The buildings are unused but the garden is still flourishing in parts, and the roses were looking wonderful. Very gladly signed the log and replaced all as found before departing.
Cheers and happy caching!

After failing to find one of the ducks I decided to try this one. I parked nearby and walked to GZ. I started searching, then read the hint and widened the search area, concentrating on the fence. Soon I spotted something which I thought could be the cache and it was. Log signed and all replaced and I continued on my way. TFTC.
I came out caching with All7, working through a list of caches (Mostly in Goulburn) that she wanted to find on our way to the event, at Marulan, that afternoon. I had previously found a few of the caches on her list, but was happy to watch her find them ... or help if needed - not that I was much help, when I didn't actually remember where I had found them.
Thanks to All7 for inviting me to go with her - it was a fun day, driving along enjoying the views of snow in the paddocks and on the hills (snow was even falling in Canberra that morning), with a couple dozen fun finds, a freezing but funny event, and a lunch in a nice warm pub
TFTC - I think this is the first time I have ever had my fingers in snow while searching for a Geocache - lol

Found with Nissan 65on a days trip caching. Cool day but better than being at work. Thanks for the cache
I came to G Town today with a few errands but mainly for the 150th anniversary of the railway. While in the area I turned this one into a smiley. TFTC.
Felt too conspicuous looking around in the ivy here in the middle of the day. Another time maybe

Left Port Macquarie heading south to the Mega event At Canberra.
Arrived at Goulburn to attend an event, had time to do some caching while we are here.
Some of Australian orphanages had some horrific tales come out from them, many years later.. It looked quiet derelick from where the cache was.

I'm heading up to Bowral but took this detour to fill a square my hidden dates matrix. It was not to be today. I searched in the ivy for around 10 mins with the gps bouncing about a bit. I'll have to try another time.
Caching in Goulburn this late afternoon.
Just shoved my arm in there hoping that there would not be syringes and eastern browns waiting for me
Thank you for hiding here

Third visit here, and now with the enhanced hint, the search was a bit quicker. Eventually spotted the tricky hide. You may want to look at the terrain rating as I don't think there is any way someone in a wheelchair could reach it (it was a stretch for me!).
Thanks,
Thanks,
I had another cache in mind as my final for the day, but I discovered that there was a great deal of activity in the area (the trots were on), so I looked for an alternative - and this was it!
It took a few minutes of searching (and reference to several previous logs for clues) to locate but once I found it I wondered how it took me so long.
Despite a dubious history, I see a lot of character and potential in the old buildings. It would be nice to see them put to use rather than mothballed and forgotten.

A bit of an Australia Day long weekend to Victoria and back, with some caches along the way.
We popped into town on the way home today and nabbed this one along the way. I certainly feel for those involved in what must have gone on here back in the day.

Annual trip to Canberra with StumbleTrip this weekend saw us finish off in Goulburn with a few easy to collect caches.
Every time the Stumbles head down south for a caching trip, StumbleTrip just HAS TO make me drive past the old orphanages. I must admit to being slightly interested in the aesthetics of the now decrepit old buildings. I love how they come out so mysterious looking in B&W, its like they have a story to tell - which I'm sure if the walls could talk, they'd have a flooded river of stories.
Anyway, nice easy find.
TFTC and look forward to finding more in the series.

Time flies when you watch heritage buildings decay. Doing the nerdy pilgrimage to St. John's just around the corner for that exact reason, we found this new geocache and thought, interesting.
Felt insanely suspicious in the ivycovered lawn but CIH soon enough. TFTC.

A couple of hours needing filling so a caching we did go!
After failing miserably & logging a SHOCK, HORROR DNF at a nearby location (I really don't think it's there!) I decided to hobble a bit further in the hopes of redeeming myself here.
Great coordinates & in very short order the cache was in hand.
YES!
Redemption is mine!
I can still find a cache or two. LOL ...
Made our mark & replaced as found.

After watching the Geocaching film festival in Goulburn, I could not turn down the chance to do a few caches on the way home. The old build looks very rundown, but it was a quick stop to deal with the cache today.
Thanks.

We headed to Goulburn today with Rapidlywild to attend the Giff event. There had been a few new geocaches published since our last assault to this area, so we decided to head up early to find them.
This is a magnificent building, quick find here.

Plans were put in place with the ladies of FurfacesLL to head up to Goulburn to attend the GIFF event and clean up the area again. We had a great day with lots of laughs and some adventures in the new geomobile. A wonderful way to spend Rememberence Day (which we stopped at 11am to take a minute silence in respect and we were just down the road from the Rocky Hill War Memorial). FFLL#2 scored the find here after a short search
Thanks for the cache hide JDogMonkey and the ladies of FurfacesLL for another great caching day out

Not having much luck with this one. I will just have to ignore it until a better hint is given. Don't know if it is high, low, on wall, top of wall, main street, side street etc. I concentrate on searching T1 locations, but have not spotted it yet! Of course I didn't go behind the wall as that is private property!
Yellow egg in I drove up to Goulburn and stayed overnight at MinnieK and Fitzy_65 and we all got up early to go to 2 events and grab some caches, some new ones had been released and a few more smilies was what we were after. We had just finished the Lackey, Lackey Extension and Gingenbullen trails which were quite easy to find even though some were a few metres out. We decided to grab a few extra traditionals and this one was the last one on our list. We parked car in driveway and walked over to gz, looking everywhere and for a minute I thought it would be a DNF, then just out of the corner of my eye I spotted an unusual object and smile on my face when I found it was the cache, retrieved sign log DD, MK & F65. tftcJDogMonkey and The Cutlets
fitzy_1965, Darzee Di & I got up early this morning to head up the highway for a couple of events and as many caches in-between. Had a great day despite the persistent rain.
This one could have taken awhile. With Di being a bit taller than me, she came up with the find in a spot that I couldn't reach. Signed most logs as MK, F65 & DD.

16,841. Found this one with minniek and Darzee Di during a day run around the Southern Highlands region.
Heading home after a big days caching in the Southern Highlands but we still had time for a few more caches. This was a convenient one to try when we got back to Goulburn. Took a few minutes of poking around at GZ then the container was spotted and grabbed. Signed the log as MK, F65, DD, replaced the cache, and we headed off home.
Thanks JDogMonkey and the Cutlets !!

Found today with dty73. Took a little while, but got there in the end. I wonder what they will do with this place? At the moment, all the windows are boarded up, and it looks a little foreboding... Thanks for the cache JDogMonkey and The Cutlets.
It was a rainy day, but an earthcache was required and so the closest one that Tankengine hadn’t found yet was here in Goulburn.
After a quick discussion, a plan was developed and put into motion. TE picked me up and we headed to the Historic Waterworks first and then ended up getting a lot more caches than I expected (well, I got a heap more as some happened to be in the areas we were, but he had already found them previously).
I was worried about the ivy all over the place but we soon found the cache. We walked through what we thought was a geotrail and checked around the area until we thought a little differently and that's when we saw what could only be the cache. Tftc JDogMonkey and The Cutlets!!!

That was one steep hill to climb to reach a cache. Of course, coming by car made it much easier. Lucky find. TFTC
Tftc. Log is a little damp, but still able to be signed, or stamped in this instance.
**This Cache**
I have a very strong feeling that there used to be a cache here before. I recall pulling up in the driveway many years ago! Or I could be wrong and may have just been exploring given that it is abandoned!
Oh well, great to come back here again and find this new cache. I groaned when I saw how overgrown GZ was and thought it could take FOREVER to find, but luckily I spotted a potential container pretty quick and had log in hand. Thanks!
*See generic log below of today's adventure*

**The Day:**
Today consisted of teaming up with Darksidedan, AngelG27 and joeylovestreasure to do the Tarago powertrail by ALL7. After finishing up at 1pm we all enjoyed lunch in Bungendore, before parting ways. Myself and Dan decided to keep going and spent a further 6 hours caching till dark! We went through Goulburn, Breadalbane, Cullerin, Gunning and then looped around back through Murrumbateman to finally return home.
All up a huge day that totalled close to 13 hours by the time we were done with it!
Thanks to all the CO's for providing a great day out

OCW *Little Kitten* and *DustyJapserJet*. I had no intention to cache Goulburn today. Last night I rediscovered the newish cache at Towrang Stockade - I had seen it a while back and it totally fell off my radar - so it was a must visit today, especially as I had ***finally*** worked out how to get into that area. Seeing as Towrang was a jump away and the car was full of hunger pangs it was *Destination Goulburn* so a caching we went.

An icy afternoon to be out here hunting with B0tmun. This caches reputation for being a challenge, already preceded it, but I was still determined to give it a go.
Arriving at GZ we saw the options were seemingly endless and the freezing drizzle of rain was indeed a deterrent. But hunt we did..
B0tmun thought we should come back tomorrow, but I thought we should look a little more.. then I thought we should come back tomorrow but B0tmun wanted to try one more spot. Success!!! He soon had the cache in hand.
Cache in great condition in its safe little hidey under the jungle.
So grateful to have that one under our belt.. tftc

A busy weekend of activites interspersed with caching. Yesterday started with 6 caches requiring a kayak, finishing with today's event. Then it was caching my way to a 5 hour night rogaine. Slept in the back of the car then up early this morning caching my way to Kowen Forest for some MTB orienteering, followed by some more caching by mountain bike.
I first attempted his yesterday afternoon, but time pressure didn't allow me to search for long. I returned again this morning, and took my time, I soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.

Heading home i scanned the map and noticed this new cache so stopped in for a hunt around.
At GZ I thought..really??
It took a solid search to come up with the find too so I fear this poor ivy is going to take a bashing.

I had a good look around (although not easy as there was lots of traffic). Couldn't find anything, but there were lots of bushes, so maybe it's in there. Concentrated on the wall area as the cache is T1, so wheelchair friendly.
I'll wait for a few more found logs before I try again.
I'll wait for a few more found logs before I try again.
No luck for me today. There is a lot of overgrowth both below the wall and on top of the wall which made it more trickier.
The history on this is one not forgotten, an important reminders of sensitive times.
