Logs
The Western Escarpment walking track has been damaged by fire and is closed for repairs from Sunday 22 September 2024.
After a work gig somewhere over there or here, lets go geocaching. Another easy find, also tackling non-traditional hides where possible. Springtime views over a rifle range to my left. Thanks oldmorty for giving this cache for everyone to hunt.
12:23pm.This offering eluded me today.Shall return at a later stage.Much Obliged Oldmorty, - Alephroom.
Our etrex was uncooperative here for a few minutes. Once it behaved itself we quickly found this cache. TFTC oldmorty
Another really cool find with my eldest finding it and feeling very happy with herself
relied on the hint and not my gps and soon had CIH. love your various camo containers CO, gives me ideas for my own hides. FP awarded for camo and viewsthis redeems a DNF from 5+ years ago when i first started caching.
Find# 11554Nice quick find.Beautiful view from near here!TFTC oldmorty ??19 July 2024
Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and increased our experience in this location it is what helps make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Unfortunately after a good look around we didnt find the cache this time.
I was born and lived in South Maroubra for the first years of my life, but for the following many years, well into my teens, we were pretty much here almost every weekend, summer and winter, fishing and swimming. While cache surfing I discovered this series, which is now a National Park, and has a very good walking track to some beautiful vistas. After almost loosing my way to this part of the track, I had to rush along this part of the track, lots of twists and turns in this section, but a little step to the side soon had me in the right spot.
No way!!!! After many tries I have found the two of the headland walk in the same day in minutes!! I am so stocked. Both are so great! Thanks oldmorty. Now I can keep doing my walks in the headland without thinking about it hahaha
A lovely walk to a rather sneaking hide. Great fun for the junior cacher!

Too many passers-by to make any serious attempt at this one. Will try again another day.
Between the 9 of us, this was a quick find. Mr 5 moved it to look for the cache, and I noticed… it was the cache! What a great hide!

Stopped here for a walk missed #4 but found this one

TFTC! We found it in about 5 minutes. It was well camouflaged. Dont be affraid to look under nearth nature. Hint = STICK around even when it gets hard
We think we found it but couldn't get it out/couldn't find the log so not quite sure. It's a good one (if what we found was the cache).

For essential exercise today I walked the Western Escarpment Walking Track and along the way checked the four caches on the track. All present and correct.
Disappointing result on the walking track today. Attempted all four and this was my only find.
Great camo on this. I’m not sure what made me pick this up but I did and was relieved I finally had a (smaller than small) CIH.

What should have been a nice enjoyable walk became a bit frustrating very quickly. All 1.5 should be easy pick ups, but spend 15 m at each 4 with no luck??

Found with Sat Down and Had Coffee. Great camo, no longer a sistema container like images suggest. TFTC
Found with Walk There and Had Coffee after a good search in The completely wrong place. Then we checked the GPS one last time and there it was. Very clever hide. Lived the Camo. Favourite point from me. TFTC
Together with Dino and Betty we came down for a swim but brought everthing to turn it into a hike if the waves wouldn't look tempting enough. Dino called it and we went on this hike around the peninsular which I have been wanting to do ever since these caches had come out.
Now, coming from the beach, if we thought the last one was a tricky hide this certainly topped it by miles. All of us searched for quite some time. I was on my knees and hands, getting splinters from little thorn debries, but I was determined to try, especially after seeing that the CO had just been here to replace this cache. Eventually I made the find. Hard, very hard, especially if you don't know what you are looking for. This could easily be a d3.5 or 4. A very well done but tricky and hard hide. Coordinates are good which helps a lot.
Thank you oldmorty for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Maintenance ie chopping, pruning and cleaning, has been carried out along the side of the walking track and t appears the cache container was also cleaned out. This morning I placed a new cache which is more in keeping with the surroundings.
This is our first chance to take off in our motorhome and test it out. It is so long since I have been caching, I am feeling very rusty, with very little caching over the last 18 months. Now we are semi retired, so we will no doubt get familar and catch up on some very late logs.
Out for a walk enjoying the views and sea air. I spied the container before we even getting to GZ, so it made for a very quick find. We retrieve the container between muggles and hopefully it will be less visible next time.
Thanks oldmorty for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Doing the trail somewhat backwards after skipping the last one and gonna grab it on the return. Only so many places this one could be, geotrail gave it away. Tftc
A sparkling day to be out geocaching. And not many muggles around. SL TFTC Cheers.... Gaztek
Lovely walk along the cliffs
I've never walked this headland, and without geocache I probably never would have
Thanks CO

I was in the area on other business but thought I should mark my visit with a quick cache find. This was it.
Nice one, thanks oldmorty.

Lots of people out enjoying the sunny day, so had to wait for an opportunity to search location more closely. Found cache neatly tucked away. TFTC
Lovely evening walk and surprise object found, and now we start our geocaching journey!
Quick find once I started thinking simpler. Way too many muggles in the morning but a lot quieter at 2pm TFTC and the trail is beautiful
It took us a couple of minutes because we kept missing it.... but we found it!
Found it! Yay. Our first one after May years. Glad to be out and about in the fresh air. HNY everyone
Vandaag tijdens mijn bezoek aan Maloubra gevonden en gelogd.
Dank aan de co

Well, this was considerably easier than the one further down the track which I just DNF’d.
A nice enough walk, but I’d have been disappointed had I not managed a find.
