Second sidetrack of the day no problem finding the number including the one that is apparently missing. Quick walk to GZ a very obvious cache. TFTC
Found It!There sure are a lot of sidetracked caches in this part of the world. Collected more answers while watching more trains go past and then off to the final location for another excellent cache container!TFTC
Found a good number, and a range of types today in the Westleigh and surrounding areas. I grabbed the info for this one, and then hopped on an incoming train to pennant hills to do that sidetracked too. After being successful there, I had a 15 min train wait to get back. Instead I opted to run and made it in 4 In fact I managed to find the cache and come back, and the train actually arrived as I crossed back over the bridge. Dropped off a TB here. Great cache hide!
It was the favourites that drew me to this multi. Like a moth to flame I flew along the straight road the mere eight hundred odd metres away to check on this wee adventure.Initially up and down and back again like I was stuck in a song lyric until I finally found what I was looking for. This instigated the curiosity of a commutee who was most curious as to my getting all touchy feelly with everything in sight, if not by touch then at least avid intense glare filling in the gaps.Remarkably, he'd cached before and was most enthusiastic in becoming reinvolved after my enthusiastic efforts describing my actions.Together we stitched the mathematics up like a two dollar frock and I put it all up to the projection tab which seemed to agree with my concoctions.Bidding good day to my possible reconvert I stalked away to higher ground and a search for the booty. Which was discovered with a cry of success and caw of amazement as the hide itself was uncovered in all its ingenuity.Another masterpiece by the master. It seems most fitting that my stock of favourite points are for the first time entirely depleted on another one of Calypso62's clever creations.Thank you so much for consistently conjuring creative caches, most with maximum memorability.
Collected the info a while back and today we had time to collect the well constructed cache Thanks Calypso62 for placing this cache GC7XV1E
Found it. Another one of the sidetracked series completed. Now for the next one. TFTC Calypso62.
Another multi. Great, I need more for some challenge. Again, got the right answers first time round. Nothing too devilish is these ones. Great effort on the final. Tftc.
FP. Nothing else really needs to be said.Except that the cache itself is not the only reason for a FP. The questions are set out clearly and accurately. GZ only needed a short walk. The CO made sure that there was safe access, via a pedestrian crossing. We appreciate the time and effort in creating this multi. Thanks Calypso62
As I was early meeting a friend for brunch at the delightful Monday Morning cafe opposite the station I decided to look for this cache. I made the same mistake as Techsavvy9 not reading the instruction properly. ???Once I worked out where I went wrong , the cache was easily found. The hint was also spot on - TFTC!!
TFTC and the the experience of finding the cache. Thanks to the CO for picking up on my error. I did what I told my students what not to do when reading a question. I didnt reread the instructions. I got there in the end after going to Castle Hill to my granddaughters year 10 formal. Home now and catching up on my finds from today. A favourite from me as its a fantastically constructed cache.
I had a really relaxing, fun time doing this one. A little bit of everything that I want in a multi...and a great cache "container" at the end. This is the reason we have fave points. Have one C62!
Very clever! Had to move the resident spider, but he was no problem really. TFTC and a favourite
Being in the area, scouted out a good cache to do which wouldn’t take too long before it gets dark. Liked finding the required numbers on the platforms and while we were doing so, a huge cargo train slowly but loudly made its way across the station. Soon, the required was collected, and it was off to GZ where the very nicely camouflaged cache was found. Great construction which I suppose required a lot of measurements to get right! SL and replaced as found. Thanks, Calypso62, for this enjoyable hunt, worthy of yet another FP.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12153.
I started this one during the AFL finals last year and since then it has been tormenting me each time I went to Sydney for work. Today was a quick stop for a nicely hidden cache.
Thanks Calypso62 for the cache.

Thanks Calypso62 for the cache.
Due to station upgrades, we had to walk to long way around to GZ after gathering the required information to solve the coordinates. Was definitely worth it as we thought this was a very clever hide. We might even steal the idea Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC
I came and gathered the detail of this one today but didn't have time to make the find. Another day perhaps...
Had an unexpected trip to visit Gordon today and on the way home with ilook4geo we took the opportunity to get a bit SideTracked again. This one was easy enough to do but the reconstruction of the station area meant one point was not easy to see. However, a helpful muggle construction worker got closer to see the numbers we needed and that helped. We found the cache without any problem, stamped both names on the log and put everything back into place. Favourite point given for the hide construction. Thanks for the cache go to Calypso62.
This station area is also in a very messy state. Managed to find the numbers needed, with a bit of help from a muggle working at the site. No trouble finding the container, the log was signed and all was replaced correctly before we left. TFTC.
A lot of building work going on around the station and one set of numbers seemed to be fenced off. However, using the checksum and some geosense, managed to make my way to the well crafted hide. Quite an exposed spot but nobody seemed to pay me any attention while whizzing by.
Great sidetracked multi and a fav from me. TFTC

The Opal Topup machine on platform 1 and 2 has apparently been removed while there is construction (according to the staff member on the platform)
I should be able to reverse engineer it, but flagging.

Thanks for the notification on this one akkatracker. Disabling until I can get it sorted.
Needed some fresh air so decided to combine some trains and walks. Collecting info was easy enough with the exception of a missing opal topup machine.
Using the checksum, I ended up with 2 possibilities for GZ and quickly ruled one out.
Familiar looking GZ and whilst I've seen these styles of hides before, very well executed. Lots of fun, will give a fave.
Thanks C62 all in order here - survived the rain exceptionally, very dry unlike some of the other caches I've found today.

A temporary fix has been placed in the cache description. I'll check this out further once all the construction in the area has been completed.
Nice little side trip after finishing the Sydney to Thornleigh section of the Great North Walk. TFTC!
Nice multi found at the end of our Sydney to Thornleigh section of The Great North Walk.

Now that the NSW Government is beginning to ease lockdown restrictions, it’s time to bring my caches back into play.
Just a reminder, a fundamental rule of geocaching is that, in order to be able to log a cache find online, you must retrieve the cache container and sign the physical log located in that container. Failure to comply may result in your online log being removed.
I know the Covid virus is still about so please take precautions to keep yourself and those around you from harm by doing things such as wearing gloves to handle geocaches as well as using hand sanitiser regularly.
Keep safe everyone and enjoy your geocaching activities.
Cheers,
Calypso62

Geokid and I had great fun solving the clues in search of this cache. The little one is a big fan of trains, so we had the additional fun of watching trains come and go as we found the clues all around the Thornleigh train station. The platforms were essentially deserted as we meandered up and down - a sign of the times indeed.
Once the coordinates were solved, we headed out in the direction of the cache only to be thwarted by construction on the exit we wanted to take. So we took the 'long way round'. Once we were in the vicinity of the cache, it started to rain, so we had to hunt fast! I saw something out of the ordinary right away, but didn't investigate closely enough and looked elsewhere. Then came back, and realized my mistake!
What an absolutely fantastic cache, camo, and hide, with plenty of treasure to please the Geokid. Thank you [@Calypso62](http://coord.info/PR32B15) for this very clever cache and all the fun.

The Covid situation in Greater Sydney is still critical. As a result, this cache remains disabled for the time being. I'm monitoring the situation and will bring the cache back online when appropriate to do so.
To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to bringing my caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates.

Calypso62

Finally got some time to get a few more caches though a big storm meant I cut my activities short. This was the first attempted and was a standalone cache that I needed a quiet day to collect - this was it. Numbers quickly crunched though I was initially one short on one. This was resolved quickly and a realistic GZ determined. A quick walk and the well constructed cache was soon spotted. Signed in between the many cars (must have been a horror before the recent opening).

Well, what an enjoyable puzzle with an interesting hide. I haven’t seen one like that before. Tftc.
We collected the numbers fairly quickly.
The GPS was terrible due to the trees and the clouds.
We worked on the clue but missed the small first one so we're looking at the wrong place.
After a while realising we were not quite right we saw what was obviously the cache next door.
We then how do I hell of a trouble getting it out.
We signed the log.
Talk nothing and left nothing.
Thanks for this very well prepared cache

Another good one by C62. I do like the choice of photos. Finding the numbers for the letters was easy, as was finding GZ. Accessing the cache was a bit harder due to muggles. However, cache was finally grabbed, log signed & cache replaced. Worth a favourite point.

Aah the king of cache containers is at it again. Another superbly crafted cache that blends in with the surroundings. After a leisurely walk around Thornleigh Station collecting the information I sat on a pew to do the sums and got agreement from the checker. Off to gz and once there and surveying the scene, I thought no that can't be it. Waited for the traffic to start moving and went in for a check. Yes it's the cache. SL and returned cache to its hidey hole. Thanks for another fun cache Calypso and have a FP.
#5351- Another fabulous Calypso cache worth a favourite.
I was down from the mountain, finally able to catch up with my exchange student I co-ordinate after restrictions lifting. After a series of frustrating DNF's along the way I decided to do something I knew would be reliable. And of course it was ( thanks Calypso!) I live multis and this one was no.exception- straightforward and easy.
Plus another well orchestrated hide. Thoroughly enjoyed it and lifted my spirits!

Haha. You thought I'd given up geocaching! I worked this out last year sometime but never came by. Found today after getting my hands dirty unnecessarily. Great hide. Favourite. Thanks!
As the NSW Government is now beginning the process of easing some of the Covid-19 restrictions, it is appropriate that my geocaches be brought back into play.
**Please Remember - It is still very important to exercise social distancing while you are out and about and to practise good hand hygiene after touching caches out in the geo-wild.

Grabbed the info from the platforms and then headed over to GZ. Spotted the well crafted Camo that blends in so nicely. Signed and returned. Thanks for the cache!
Getting some last moment supplies we detoured here. Don’t being the best at multi’s we tried to double check everything and prior to doing the numbers thought we were going to end up a little further away than we did.
At GZ we spotted the nice be craft work and completed the signing duties. TFTC.

I've gone through a few of these stations before, but never bothered with the multis because of the somewhat ambiguous questions.
I'm definitely a SideTracked veteran in the UK, and was surprised at having to actually go onto the platforms to gather the questions. British Rail doesn't allow caches on their property, so aside from the odd few exceptions (grandfathered and old caches), SideTracked caches are normally always a bit of a distance from the platform and station.
Now this one wasn't actually hidden on the platform of course, but I found it interesting that you need an Opal card in order to (legally) find this cache. Luckily for me, I do have one and used it to get here!
I managed to gather all of the numbers aside from F and G. I found the Great North Walk bollard, but no numbers anywhere near it. In the end, it didn't matter as the numbers I had got me to within 10m of the cache. I was surprised I didn't spot this one straight away. A truly awesome hide - best custom I've seen in a very long time. I had to wait a minute or two for the cars at the traffic lights to go between finding and putting back. I also really appreciated the pencil inside as I lost my pen back in Rhodes.
Well worth the effort - I would have been mad if it was a nano or mint tin! Picked up some TBs. TFTC, and have a favourite.

Preamble:
I get a warm feeling whenever I approach a Calypso multi or mystery geocache in that I know that the CO is now used to my idiosyncrasies. He is aware that, on the one hand, I am capable of strange and mysterious things like deconstructing into multidimensional fragments the cultural or linguistic mythologies of the cache backstory; creatively upping the difficulty level to something totally unintended; serving up a log in Irish, bodice-ripper purple prose, or possibly as a Japanese haiku poem. Snigger not, Gentle Reader. Eccentricity is OK.
On the other hand, Mr Calypso also knows that I often confuse my left hand with my other hand, can't count and hey, when it comes to directions that I'm a bit vague. Geocachers have access to maps and compasses, sure – but sometimes these just don't work!! That's how I managed to need several goes at this straightforward multi. First, I messed up on which platform was which (damn numbers!). And – sigh – second, I confused North and South. The CO, once again, set me back on course.
Anyway, today my log is going to be short and to the point.

Log:

Mr C - You are robbing me blind of favourite points. I'm going to have to check my favpt bank acc, before I dare go after more of your works of art!

After gathering the clues while waiting for a train I made it to GZ a couple of weeks later. I feel like I was being watched and had to wait for a couple sets of lights to grab. Well camouflaged.
Today I headed out to Dural for the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale and BBQ lunch at the Quarry Road HQ site (VK2WI), but stopped off along the way for a previously solved MultiCache and some new Traditionals. Then, after a fun filled morning of HAM radio junk scrounging and a nice BBQ lunch with lots of friendly chit chat, it was time to head off to work for an afternoon shift, but managed to stop off for some more caches enroute. This was the 1st of 10 finds for the day.
I had stopped off at WP1 two months ago, whilst heading out to Dural for the July T&T, and gathered all of the required info from around Thornleigh railway Station (yes I swiped my Opal card in & out just in case). Didn't have time to do the computations on that occasion (might miss out on some good junk, err treasure, if I was to be late ) but now I had the location of final GZ for this trip.
Arrived at final GZ and made a quick find of the nicely camoed hide, which blends in really well with it's surroundings. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Looks like the internal container is missing a component, but it still functions OK as it is.
Thanks Calypso62 for another SideTracked series cache to add to our growing tally, and you can have a Favourite point for the final GZ cache construction.

Easy parking on a weekend, didn't even need to use the parking station. Quickly grabbed all the clues and the checksum checked out, had a CF freight train come through southbound while I was getting the info. Then off to GZ to spot the cheeky hide. Thanks Calypso62.
A lovely walk in Sydney at night to stretch our legs after a long drive. Found with sjg66. Tftc
Another great multi by the one and only! Came past to clean up a few multis around. Got the info easy enough and then made the mistake of driving to a waypoint before doing the calculations. What the.... ohh he did sayit’s a fairly quick multi. So I drove back and walked to GZ. Saw the camo from a way off, classic, and then SL with cars right near me. They don’t pay attention to anything outside the car. Thanx for a another good multi. TFTC.
My 42nd SideTracked cache.
With gratefully received assistance from the CO for this, I was able to return and make the find. A lovely looking cafe across the road doing a roaring trade. I was very tempted to stop and indulge, but SideTracked caches to find, and I head home tomorrow. I picked up the TB 'LEGO Bruce', and left a gold necklace. Loved the cache; so in your face, but also 'invisible'. Have a favourite for that great cache, the assistance and another SideTracked cache. TFTC Calypso62.

So, so, disappointing, I made a special trip to find this and the station was closed . It's being painted. I was told to leave the platform . I got some numbers, but not all. Sigh!!
A daytrip to Sydney to find some oldies. I noticed this SideTracked cache in the same area so added it to my list. Clues were quickly collected and gz calaculated. Best hide of this type that I have seen. Fav point. Tftc.
Well I’m honestly surprised I wasn’t questioned whilst gathering info for WP1 - I felt so suspicious wandering around the station making notes on my phone!! I was uncertain once I had the GZ coordinates, but as soon as I got there I saw the camo. A very bold hide indeed!
Thanks Calypso62, another great cache!

Dropped by after 9pm to do the calls and make the find. Turned out to be a good time to retrieve the cache. Great camo. TFTC.
I was going to attempt this one last week to complete my sidetracking, but was caught in an insane traffic jam around Woy Woy, with everyone doing their last-minute Christmas shopping a week before Christmas, and ended up finding a parking spot just in time to watch my train pulling out of the station.
Move on to today and, not wanting to endure the inevitable carnage to follow India's second innings declaration, I thought I'd try again. This time I had a clear run and found a parking spot right next to the walkway to the station, so had plenty of time to catch the train. I made a stop-off at Hawkesbury River for some waterside lunch and a dip in the shark enclosure to cool off (no enclosed sharks today!), before ascending to the heights of Thornleigh and gathering some numbers.
With an agreeable checksum, I loaded the final coordinates into the Garmin and headed off to where it led, scratching my head when I got there as this didn't seem a likely Calypso GZ. But I eventually spotted the clever camo and, when there was no queued traffic watching me, extracted it and signed the log, waiting for another lull in traffic to replace it.
Now off to do another cache near the station before heading back home and making a bee line for the beach. I'm glad the trains are air conditioned! Many thanks for this enjoyable cache and series.

I was out with my son today getting his miles up for his Ls when i decided to grab this one. I knew there would not be a big hike involved. Gather the numbers and had the cache in hand quickly. A nice box a favorite point awarded for it construction. All good at the cache. Thanks Calypso62 for the placement and continued enthusiasm for the game. Cheers

Tftc, It had been too long between C62 caches. I needed a cache for an unfound day and this one was relatively close so why not! Another great C62 cache.
I was off to the city today for a Christmas get together with old workmates and the muggle missus was heading out Penrith way for an appointment ... so I figured she could drop me off at station along the way ... and Thornleigh appealed for one very good reason, this one.
I had problems with one number (which looks like it will need attention from the CO) but having found the other numbers, I was able to figure out what the missing one was supposed to be ... assuming of course, I had the other ones right. Turns out I did because when I arrived at my calculated GZ, I immediately saw the tell tale signs of a typical C62 hide. Talk about brazen though! Naturally enough, I had to wait for an opportune moment to bring the cache to hand and then again to replace it after adding my name to the visitor book.
Thanks for another nice multi C62 and for another great hide.

Based on recent logs, there appears to be an issue with one of the numbers. Disabling until I discover the issue and rectify it.
After a quick coffee at Hornsby it is off to Thornleigh. Took a little longer for the collection as there have been some changes and I found one number too easily.
With a bit of intuition the calculation was done and the find was a nice little bit of camo.
Another favourite for another SideTracked find. Once again thanks.

I thought I should do this today in case there's a challenge for finding two caches 2247.836 km apart in the one day. For a while it was looking doubtful as it seems the Opal people have conspired with the credit card companies to remove critical numbers by making orange the new blue. I realised there's an alternative path though and I soon had my hands on the clever container. It was so nice to find a clean, dry log after finding so many soggy, mouldy logs in the land of clouds and rain where they don't believe in waterproofing or using their own, locally-made, well-known containers. Thanks Calypso62.
Started our Sunday Funday a little late today and had to make this our first find for the day. Such a fun little multi and great final. Once again you never fail Calypso. Definitely worth a fav point from us TFTC
Wow that's a cheeky hide!!
Even in the middle of the day it was difficult to retrieve the cache due to there being muggles passing 100% of the time and the muggle a few metres away waving a "Visit the Santa Shop" sign didn't make it any easier.
I saved this cache for today.
Firstly its in my Thursday area but today I have completed my streak of 366 days and I wanted a goody for that achievement.
Calypso62 caches are always goodies.
The information was collected easily but the check sum didn't work. I knew which item was the offender and soon sorted that out. Worked out the final co-ordinates and headed off. Hmm this doesn't look like the ususal type of area C62 hides caches and where do you hide something here anyway? Soon spotted.
I had wanted to do a little celebratory dance for my streak achievement, but not here........well thinking about it now I should have to entertain all those muggles!

OCW the Bebes today. Nice and quite at the station today so a quick walk around to pick up the clues and once we solved the coordinates a quick find. What a great container once again. Loved it. Fav point from me. Tftc
I’d say I do 90% of my caching by public transport, so I’m always glad to see a new additional to the Sidetracked series, however today I was OCW PelDroedGwin so we were in the car.
Once we’d collected all the clues we sat down on the platform to work out our GZ. Ah...ok. Just a short walk until we spotted the classic Calypso workmanship.... love it, have another fav point!

Now this is the way i like to find a multi / puzzle cache through noticing what's around me.
during the summer break I will be walking across a large slice of Tasmania, which needs a bit of training, so I was out for an evening stroll to Normanhurst and back via an attempt to get a new address for Zacs great food. Their goat is friggin amazing. But anyway I was walking along the path and noticed a strange box and a gc number on it. Hang on, there is a GC CODE on it. Picked it up, yep a calypso special. Only one of those around here and was going to get me side tracked, which i had been saving because I thought it was going to take me down the quarry where I may hide a cache with Going Places who has some vandalism in a nearby cave that at around 60 years old, might be considered offensive heritage. ha ha.
Had to go home to get my stamp and come back, oh yeah extra training. Surprised it has lasted this long, but I guess most people are blind.

I’ve had a hiatus from caching due to a battle with bowel cancer, I’m on the road to recovery. I did misplace my caching log hence the highly delayed logging.
( I have photo proof of signed log and cache if needed)
I do remember this being a new cache having only been placed a month before.

I timed this cache search to coincide with the passing of the northbound AR04 with triple headed CEY's on the front.
Did the calcs easily enough, as this is my fave northern line station to train spot and film.
Quick detour away from the station to find a marvelously camo'd cache. Def worthy of a fave point.
Thanks C62.

Brilliant! Gotta give a FP
What better to do while waiting for your car to get serviced than to go find a geocache and I'd saved this for just such an occasion. Happy to report that all required info was gathered easily and even the checksum agreed first go. Plotted GZ and headed off. Another masterful piece of camo on display and luckily was able to stealthily take a short distance away for processing.

Heading west for a few days so took the opportunity to detour slightly to knock this one off. Found all the info, saw a trainspotter with his camera at the end of the station and headed to GZ and of course, as always, a smile was brought to the dial as I spied the camo. Nice work and now I need to find a bunch of mint tins as here goes another FP! TFTC!

After getting stuck at "Snake Eyes" I drove a few hundred meters to the Thornleigh Station car park for another SideTracked cache.
The answers were easy to find, the checksum matched and a coordinate calculated. Mmm, a weird and unexpected spot, but nevertheless I walked over. Once at number 13 I noticed the cache straight away. What a great camo and nice to find such a large one as well!
Great cache, Calypso62. Thanks!

Mr MR told me about a new C62 multi at Thornleigh station and already had the necessary information for GZ so we capped-off a long week with a high quality find in an extraordinary final location. Thanks Calypso62.
I recall picking up a few SideTracked caches in the UK, including a couple earlier this month, but I'm not sure I've found any in this fair land. I was therefore delighted to discover that there are now some hidden locally, including this gem.
Yesterday, I gathered the numbers from Platforms 1 and 2 in the morning and those from Platform 3 upon my return in the afternoon. This evening, with the aid of YGAT and under the cover of darkness, we identified the cache location then chose an appropriate time to retrieve it.
Excellent as ever, thanks Calypso62.

We ignored the trains today and were driving down to Cherrybrook when we detoured here. After a nice bit of gentle exercise collecting some numbers, I checked out our final destination and off we went. Arriving at GZ I was concerned how we would keep this retrieval unobserved, and where on earth would you hide a cache here. We soon realised that even on a busy day like this there were quieter times when I could retrieve the cache which I had just noticed. It did not take long to retrieve and log, and the cache was soon back in its place. Thanks again Calypso62 for another good SideTracked cache, good fun and an excellent container, beautifully presented.

Companions: Geoboys 13 and 7
Muggles: A few
Weather: Muggy spring afternoon
I was _definitely_ too far away to grab this when it was published (I was in Vegas). After landing back in Sydney and getting organised I needed to drop my son off at tennis practice, to find that he had the wrong time (sadly typical), so decided we would search for this instead. We had no trouble gaining all of the required information (beyond some arguing as to what constitutes a "step"; I won), and then headed over to GZ where we made a quick find - another well-made container. TNLNSL, thanks for another good addition to the series.

Oh buddy, you’ve excelled yourself here once again. Late Friday afternoon and detoured here for the daily find. Noticed TC must have been here earlier today.
Easily made my way through the numbers with the checker giving me a thumbs up, FP for the construction, thanks Calypso62

Saw this new one pop into my inbox this morning.
I was too far away to get to it before now, well at 4pm.
As I got to the PC the heavens opened up. I had enough time to get to Platform 3 when it poured again.
After the rain, about 5min, I quickly had the info for Platform 3. Off to Platform 1 & 2.
Counted and collected.
Completed the check sum and I was out. So I went and counted again. Got it this time.
Punched in the GZ coordinates and off I went.
Well Claypso62 you have done it again. What another great container and location.
A fav point coming your way.
Can't wait until the next SideTracked appears.

A nice quick collection of information after the first one had me looking for a while.
Then off to GZ for a classic Calypso62 container.
