We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area.Thanks for the hide Wright_Stuff

After a pleasant night in sheer luxury, fitzy_1965 and I were up early to take advantage of our free breakfast before joining the rest of the CIA crew for a day of caching before we all went our separate ways.We crossed the river into Victoria to meet at the start of The Crossing Place walk and did the loop before the sun got too hot. The walk itself was quite pleasant and was a good test for my hip which has not been the best of late. We targeted of the OZ trail and whatever else we came across. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.

Albury Invasion trip Day 3. After planning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. We started the day with a walk around the Riverside trail for the virtual and thew caches along the way. The second port of call was the new rail trail caches where a large group wandered along the trail visiting the caches, it is great to see this trail re-populated with caches. The second part of the day was small group caching around the area, visiting a few DNFs and other caches we had missed the day before. Day 3 of our Albury trip. Decided to start with the walk along the river. Very pleasant and a lovely cool start.Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back.Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Day 3 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL.This morning we started with the loop walk around The Crossing point and then heading out to grab a few along the OZ trail. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. This was now (my) Day 2 of the trip. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list.Thanks Wright_Stuff !!

#18986; Day 3 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend. Our merry band again comprised Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e, isopeda, dty73, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for another day of action today. Started the day with a wander along a part of the Crossing Place Trail, where we managed to locate and log 12 caches. It was then time to cross the border to tackle a larger section of the "OZ" trail, plus this one as we passed by, logs were again signed CIA23. Eighteen finds and one DNF for me along this part of the trail. Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity and apologies for the generic logs. TFTC OZREG

Day 3 of our Canberra (+3) Invasion of Albury. Starting time and place had been discussed and agreed upon at Kittykatch's Event last night. There was to be a variety of cache types, D/T's and attributes covered to hopefully provide something of interest for everyone participating. All mystery caches had already been solved as a group effort on various zoom sessions before we left home.The day was sunny and hot, but everyone rose to the challenge, and all these caches were found and signed CIA. Thanks to all the COs who placed and maintained these caches. They certainly encourage me to get out and travel.

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.

I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.

Another fantastic day with beautiful weather for caching. The muggle nephew has chosen to be a muggle no more, so Simplylookin was heading out looking for caches with us today.

A day of cycling was planned, and hopefully, a good collection of caches to be found.

Rail Trails make for awesome caching; you can walk or cycle along and don't need to worry so much about traffic.

We had a quick find here of a cache in excellent condition.

Glad that the trail is mildly elevated as there is sooooo much water laying around after the last 2 nights of storms ( combined total if around 100 mls on an already soaked surface)
TFTC and enjoying some short walks from the car before it gets too much hotter, but it’s the current humidity which is the killer.

#4620 Some time between cache finds for this team with the seemingly never ending cycle of lockdowns. However today we used our current freedoms to tackle a section of this trail whilst in the area after lunch.

Lucky last find as we conclude our journey with the geohounds along the olde railway trail today. Most enjoyable! Thanks OZREG for placing caches to add to the enjoyment of our walk.
After leaving a bike here earlier, Mrs BGF rode back to retrieve the geocar whilst the remainder of the team enjoyed a rest on the nearby seat.

Out on the trail with the two GeoKids in tow. We loaded up the car this morning with a plan to get my legs some ‘recovery’ activity. This series of caches along the HC rail trail were just the ticket. Cruising at a leisurely pace we ticked off each in good time and the girls enjoyed swapping a few goodies from the caches they could.

Found on a warm summer day for a drive with The Drovers to collect more Leap Day finds.
The mission was aimed at finding at least 20 and we just succeeded, thankfully.
Now I have more than 29 finds on 29/02 for a challenge cache in the US.
We had a great day roaming around the Albury area.

With the cooler weather today, everyone was out! I had to walk a little further before I could back track and grab this one! Got a fright when I opened the lid to find a plastic spider looking at me!!! TFTC!

Cycled all the way to this cache first to make my way to wodonga and what do I find inside the cache thankfully this one was a toy and not the real deal.

While I couldn’t ride this far last time. It was a short stroll in the sun today, while I took the opportunity to get out and grab just a few for this latest souvenir.

Thankfully it was in the second place I put my hands on, so it was a quick sign and back to the car.

Thanks OZREG for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

The last one for the day before heading back to the car. The container had slight amount of water in it which I tipped out and wiped out the cache. We walked back on to the trail and started the journey back in time as a cyclist was coming. We enjoyed this section of the series and will finish off the others at a later time.

Thanks for placing this series especially the time and thought taken for the caches and the hide placements. It really is a beautiful walk. The dog wasn't sure with the cows we saw along the trail and he needed carrying at the end near the car, as they were on the path and he wouldn't walk past them and they weren't moving either. A wayward GPS was a bit of an obstacle and after a bit of wandering back and forth along the trail i found the cache

Our last for the day and a significant find for our team: cache #1100.
A nice simple find to finish the day, where we found eight Rail Trail caches and completed this sector of the series.
A lovely day for caching and we loved getting back out here again to see how the 'refurbishment' of the area has progressed.
We left the trail on the way back to our car just briefly enough to collect this one

Spending a couple of day at Wodonga & catching up with Happy Feet. We have been here before , so many puzzles & a lot of good bike trails.
Bill went riding one morning riding with Robyn along one of the trails close by. His comment that the trail that he did was paved & quite flat a pleasure to ride on.
