Find # 12274DAY 3Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can. Headed across to the coast for the long weekend to meet up with a few other CBR cachers. The main target is the SES series, having worked on these puzzles last year and gradually made the solves. Some with help and others straightforward. Either way it was an enjoyable series, generally. Now its time to collect. And of course with so many others to choose from in this area, its a busy weekend.Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun!All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks for the Earthcache Throsbyonchurch

Done with WaywardWoman while caching in Wollongong this morning. Needing an Earth Cache as part of a Challenge, we ended up at our regular area, when down this way. With research, reading, looking, and getting distracted by Birdwatching, we managed to answer the questions in our usual layman way.
Thanks for the Earth Cache

I find Earth Caches challenging. But with limited caches available in my area (since I’ve found most accessible ones) and needing to log one for today, I’ve found myself researching like I’m back in school ???. Thanks for the science lesson. I now know what the difference between a Lagoon and an Estuary is if I am ever asked. TFTEC!

Day 14 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives before continuing south for a loop around the Snowy Mountains. From there we headed towards Eden to commence the run north towards home following along the coastline.

After spending the night in Wollongong we had to backtrack a bit to pick up a few caches we had ran out of time for yesterday. The grass was pretty boggy underneath as I walked out to the listed coordinates. A large flock of pelicans and shags were perched on the rocks at GZ and took off in a pack as I approached. I then had the place to myself to make the observations. A nice place to enjoy on a fine sunny day. TFTC

Spied this Earthcache and a couple traditional's nearby, one of which had a bunch of FP's so made our way here to find them!

Enjoyed working out this EC as a group, although the lookout platform at GZ itself was fenced off for whatever reason so didn't get the best photo standing at the area!

Thanks TOC for the EC

23,819. Found with DARKSIDEDAN and Loci612 during a caching run down to the coast today.

A slightly delayed trip down the coast today where we were rewarded with great weather, lots of caches to find, and in my case some long awaited gaps filled in cache series - some dating back a long time ! Due to domestics it was a later than normal pickup, but it wasn't before long when we started finding caches. This was the next cache on the list today. We came here for the Earthcache and got a two for one deal after finding the nearby Trad - Yay ! This was a really interesting Earthcache to visit and do - I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks ! DSD will be submitting our answers for the three of us.

Thanks Throsbyonchurch !! Favourite Point !!

Find 176 for the tribe.

Out caching with the geokid a little a while ago, only getting around to logging and sending the answers now. Thanks for placing, the lake is a special place for the tribe, we enjoy walking and bike riding around it, or if we are feeling adventurous we have been known to get out in the '71 model kayak or '83 model canoe on the lake. A really peaceful place.

Our first Earthcache! We're new to this thing, hopefully we are doing it right.

In the Illawarra to visit Mr Gaztek's mother and gathering a few geocaches before we return to Sydney. We had a picnic lunch just up from the earthcache. It was a very windy day and the Lake was definitely wave dominated today. We have sent our responses to the CO and learned really a lot about the geography here. TFTEC Cheers... Gaztek

Catching up with late logs

On our way back from the Queensland Outback Geo Muster we decided to head down the coast for a change. With so many caches along here we thought we would concentrate on Earth and Virtual caches as time was short.
We had a great time visiting some fantastic locations, and this was one of them and again we learned more about this great country
We collected the information required whilst admiring the views
Our answers have been sent off to the CO and we have been give permission to log.

Many thanks Throsbyonchurch for setting this up, a favourite point from us

After ticking off a FTF nearby that brought me to the area, initially planned to just recon this location and leave the rest of my research until EC day and I needed something close, however once I started writing up my notes and getting caught up in the science, decided to claim it today and use the smiley towards my Museum challenge tally. Answers sent to CO.

* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

A group of five of us from Auckland, New Zealand have embarked ourselves upon Australian territory to while away the time here at the MEGA and to gather up some old caches and see the country wile we’re at it.

Came along here to do our 2nd EC in 2 days. We mulled around GZ and between us came up with some pretty good answers. Answers have been sent to C.O on our behalf.

All logs while in Australia were signed as NZ MEGA 2020 to save space. We are FMZ, Agazo, rustynz, harisree and myself.

Day 4: A group of Westies (rustynz, harisree, Gorby, FMZ and Agazo - temporary Westie visa holder), are in Australia from NZ to attend the OZGeoMuster MEGA in Wollongong. All logs have been signed NZMEGA 2020

We made the detour to find this cache, I was intrigued by the strong smell of the eucalyptus, I felt I was having aroma therapy, the scent was coming from the piles of bark.

At GZ we discussed the answers which have been sent to the CO for the group.

Thanks Throsbyonchurch for creating this Earthcache, and bringing us here Big Grin

Thanks for organising.

Out and about as the sun goes down! Enough light to see the beautiful Lake Illawarra. Here to visit a ‘Gong’ buddy involved in the local Bush Care group and attend the MEGA Yippee. Seems the Lake ecology is vulnerable to all manner of human impacts and encroaching developments including the recent sightings of blue ring octopus. TFTC and the info - caching always a good reason to detour and pontificate on the wider joys and value of GEOCACHING!

Set out caching around Lake Illawarra with Bonfire7, out to achieve my 300th find and his 100th EC. And that we did!! Such a beautiful day was had. Thank you for the experience Throsbyonchurch

Great little Earthcache, living in the area all my life, I know how this lake acts.... I’ve been fishing and prawning the lake my whole life... A shame commercial fishing has ruined the numbers of fish for recreational use.

Well this was an unexpected FTF. I stumbled upon this cache cause it didn’t come through on my notifications for some reason so only seen it after trolling GC.
I drive past WP2 everyday so stopped here on my way home today and then made the quick detour to the posted coords where I soon had all the required info. I’ve certainly seen some changes over the years at WP2.
Answers sent to CO. Thanks

Saw this one pop up and another nearby EarthCache to find! Took the chance to pop down on the weekend with the family. Always a great spot as the kids played in the park Dad went and hunted this EarthCache. Certainly some interesting reading on the cache page about the local waterbody. Answers sent off. TFTEC!
