Ms. Tyee and myself decided to pick up p a few last caches before leaving NZ. TFTH.
An early morning walk after the concert last night. So warm up here compared to home. Another one spotted by MM..hes on fire this morning. TFTC
I'm in Auckland for a couple of days and for a change it has nothing to do with work (up the Irons!). So I've got nothing to stop my caching activities except being limited to public transport. Maybe I'll spot a Yeti with his very distinctive coat (GCAT2T2). (I didn't but I know he was up the front there somewhere).Spotted it on approach. Plenty of time to my flight and I'm going to need it as my pace has slowed right down. All good here, and thank you to geocoinsnz for the placement of your Traditional Cache.Find #7109 at 17 September 2024 1:53pm
Found it after a revisit on our way back along the cycle trail, after a dnf earlier in the day (we subsequently found one of the same hide type so knew we'd find this one the same way.) tftc
Found on return trip after spotting a now familiar camouflage. This one is much tricker to spot when you dont know what your looking for. No log so i added a bit of paper but Im not sure how long it will stay there as there was nothing to hold it in place. I spent so much time hunting for these caches that i lost track of time and almost missed my sisters performance today. I arrived at the competition with 2 minutes to spare with a band member already in the room adjusting the seating. 2 minutes later they closed the doors and i would not have been allowed in the room. Geocaching is such an addictive hobby! Photo is of a very cool Thai restaurant i dinned in last night called the secret garden. Thankyou for this series of caches. I will have to return to find the rest another day.
In Auckland again with rattll, seeking to find as many caches as possible prior to a significant milestone for her. Parked the van at Moyle Park, and hauled out the bikes to follow the cycle trail from here back to the airport.Despite a good search here, we had no success in finding. Noted that recent previous finders had found the log only, with no container.
Found together with Heureka10.Thanks for the cache.Greetings from Czech Republic.
Found together with Kendar05. Thank you for the cache. Greetings from Czech Republic.
After having returned our camper van after 5 weeks driving across New Zealand I walked back to the hotel and came across this cache here. TFTC says Fischus
We only found the log on the ground at the GZ, no container Signed the log and placed it at GZ we think. TFTC 18D & L6671 Canada.
Having flown in this morning I was making my way north. Not sure if this one is in a great state. Only found the log lying on the ground and no sign of any container. May need a look at. Signed and replaced log where found.
Couldnt find this one but looking at comments it has the tendency to get misplaced.. will try again further down the road
Day 1: The Route from the AirportWe arrived in New Zealand just after lunch, and with half a day left, what better way to kick off my third trip to NZ than to hit the ground (or runway, in this case) running? The trail leading out from the airport was a tempting choice, and despite the rain, I opted to go for it. My luggage and partner headed for my sisters place first, while I stayed behind at the airport to get the business here done. After 4 hours, with a slight bit of rain, a successful cache run was completed and I could get back in time for dinner!(End of the cut and paste bit)This is the specific log for this cache:Well thats the end of the first part of the trail. Its been nice seeing COs variation of caches thus far, despite being a fairly nondescript place, the fun made the walk barely felt. Off to the second part of the trail, but thanks for everything so far. TFTC!
Today we arrived in New Zealand, and to keep awake we made a small walk finding some geocaches. This was one of them.Greetings from Team Camperfietser
I am starting the work day down Manukau way this morning, for the last time in a while, and decided to start the day off with an early morning walk. I parked up in the Williams Park car park and started my stroll. After finding "Is not the end" I continued my way down to this ground zero. After crossing at the lights I was soon at GZ and got to searching. Quickly spotted after checking a couple of spots. I had to deploy some stealth with cars lined up on the other side of the fence. Cheers for the cache placement!
While waiting at the nearby motel, I checked the map and found 4 or 5 caches close enough to grab while just otherwise sitting around. This was number 2 of 4.Had a bit of a time with sat lock, putting me anywhere up to 6 m away from actual GZ. But after finding the other nearby cache in a slightly different pattern, I scored this one quickly. Not my first but also not my last in NZ. Thanks from Adelaide.
With hindsight I may not have put this back as it was originally designed. Didn't look complete.
Visiting from Ohio, USA and spent the morning geobiking around Auckland. Well done hide!
Today we are in the area of Auckland. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.
***T4T$ - Many Thanks to geocoinsnz for hiding and maintaining of this cache*** ️

Not quite the end, or not quite the beginning, but at GZ the magnetic cache was was easily found.
Day 15 and what a whirl wind. When I found this one, the plan at the beginning of the day was to be snuggled up in our beds in sunny Qld but with a plane delay we found ourselves in a nearby motel for an extra night. Needed to find one more hide. So a quick wander and eventually I found what I came for. TFTC
Found with Kat33, Mumzi and TheGrunch. Greeting's from Calgary, Canada! So after three years of waiting and a few small trips here and there when we were able it was time for the family four to head out on a huge international adventure! The primary destination for this trip has been discussed at length for many years due to it being a bucket list site of TheGrunch who has for a long time yearned to visit the land of Aotearoa/New Zealand! Well yearn no more! With restrictions lessening and it being easier to travel it was time to hit up this country! Our trek started shortly after lunch in Calgary on Wednesday, February 15th and, after a layover in Vancouver, after one 13.5 hour flight we were landing in Auckland at shortly after 6am on Friday, February 17th. Were able to drop off our bags at our hotel which was also close to a series of caches so how better to start getting acclimatized? Marched for a couple of hours and were able to find 12 caches with some of them being pretty cool! Were able to get checked in and had a low key evening. Today we hauled off and made our way downtown where we really enjoyed the walk checking out the sites. Could see some of the recent damage from the flooding and the cyclone . Found three caches today, one traditional and two virtuals while also picking up a travel buddy. This cache was cache 8 of 12 and was found on 2023.02.17 at 10:01:00 AM for a total of 5032. TFTC geocoinsnz!
After checking out of our hotel at 10 AM, jup and I had a late breakfast at a nearby cafe, and then we had a bit more time before our shuttle to the airport at noon, so we walked to this cache that was nearest the hotel. It was a quick find since we had found a similar one before breakfast.
Quick find. Wish we had more time but the Geo tour beckons and time is running out.
So exciting to be heading to NZ. Have not been to the NI so looking forward to exploring. Did not make it to the last Mega because of Covid so wonderful Kittykatch and I can get here now.
Thanks for getting me out and about geocoinsnz

Thanks for the cool cache geocoinsnz

Found it! Parked up at an airport motel before flying out tomorrow morning, I just managed to stave off tiredness long enough to head out and grab this cache - the last one I will find in NZ this time, and our 1500th find. TFTC!
I've had a long weekend in Hamilton ahead of a relocation in a few weeks time and have a few hours to spare before my flight back to Nelson. Let's see what caches there are around.
This was part way through for me this evening. That's a novel wee hide. A little more tricky in the dark perhaps but well crafted.
Thanks geocoinnz

Not the end or the beginning today... more like the middle of a loooong bike ride that took us along past GZ, so of course I had to stop off and find the cache. I took the title too literally at the beginning but soon realised and found the cache in its nice camo.
All good here - thanks!

Quick find - strolling along on sunny day trying to tick some off on this route. TFTC.
Can't believe Karma found this before me. It is on my door step!! Love the creativity of the hide. Thanks.
A nice quick find. Well done on the camo. Fav point from me. Thanks for placing your cache.
I'm in Auckland and I am exploring the region while I am based here. Today was a dry day, I borrowed by bro's bike and cruised around the place. I had a great time.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Walking from Mangere Centre Park towards the airport and see how far I can get before GAR is finished with his dog trail today, so this was neither end nor beginning. Nice hide geocoinsnz! Not sure I would ever have walked along this walkway/cycleway without the caches along it waiting to be found so thanks for placing!
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked in Auckland for the next few days … decided to go for a walk this morning to check out some caches … this one was an easy find, completed the log & replaced it … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,804 for us.
We just bought ebikes! Naturally I gravitate towards the cluster of green circles so this is where we ended up on Queen’s Birthday weekend. Artemis_Z and I are a couple and he was the one who found it first. Now towards the airport where there are caches waiting for us!
Found it but as previous catchers mentioned, logbook is missing. Have pic for verification
We have found this cache like in the photo, dad to say its been muggled, we have put it back bit didn't have any supplies to fix it up

Still all good .

Well this was the beginning for me. Husband decided to lie in this morning so I came up to Auckland to geocache. He now regrets his choice. Lol. I'm alone and unsupervised. Haha. Quickly spotted the nicely camo cache. Tftc

We were fast running out of time before requiring to head home so decided a quick jog along the walkway was in order to get a few quick finds in succession.
The end, well nearly, one more than further south for us heading home after a few Grotty looking ones.........

Easy find after finding the last one. Walked past though had to go back. Staying close by decided to do a power trail. Thanks for this series back to accommodation now
Today was a day for grabbing numbers as we approach a milestone number so we headed here to walk the cycle trail. Here today with Liverkiwi, Lordcacher08, Purply and Darthcacher1. The last cache for us today before walking back to the car. A nice quick find here.
Out today with HeMaLuDy to walk along George Bolt Memorial Drive and collect some of the caches that can be found along here. It was a stunning sunny spring day which meant that it was cold, but as long as you stayed in the sun you stayed warm enough to make it bearable.
After collecting the previous cache on our walk, this one was a sinch to find. We all approached GZ to look for this cache and spotted it straight away. Luckily it wasn't too busy at the traffic lights today and so there were no strange looks at this group of people doing something on the path.

Out with our little cacher friend today. Nice quick find for our first one of the day. TFTC
This biking track had been a plan of attach for Team SEAC for a while now however the originally planned day had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
A couple of days ago the weather was checked and found to be good so the cal went out. Unfortunately due to the late notice there were only 4 that could attend.
We threw our bikes into the back of our cars and headed to the Countdown carpark at the airport and headed to the bike trail to do these caches.
Had just found this cache when the rain started to set so instead of carrying on we made a beeline back to Countdown and the cars.
Thought if we had some lunch the weather might improve to carry on this trail.

Had planned this bike ride for a few weeks ago but the weather got in the way. Mrs NZT messaged yesterday to see if anyone was keen to attempt again today and yes we were!
This was the end before lunch for us as the rain started and it felt like it was moving in to stay. After the quick find we headed back for the cars and lunch with a plan to return should the rain ease.
Thanks for the cache. Found with NZTravellers, Hello Birdie 1 and laval.

This was definitely the end of our morning bike ride as the rain seemed to set in we decided to head back to the start and grab some lunch to see if the rain would ease and we could take the covers off, roll the pitch and get the game back on track after our lunch break! TFTC!
