The container had fallen from its hide and has suffered some water damage to the log inside. Also, there is a wasp nest in a nearby tree as a warning to future seekers. Should be okay if you stay away, as they're away enough from the cache to be avoided. Just be careful when looking around.
Not able to get here in a timely manner so bye bye. Will retrieve container in about 6 months time
After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
We're on our way back home to Brisbane, but there's always time to stop off for a cache. This was a nice quick find and our last stop before getting home. A most excellent trip.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3554
Today we moved the caravan to Kilkivan, this being the start of our journey to our daughters place. It was after lunch time when we arived so the van was set up, coffee was had and then it was time to go exploring. All the caches that were attempted today were found and all were in good condition. We did replace one log book. SL TFTC
Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Two from TASSIE out for a 10 week jolly including another stint at the Gympie Muster. Taking our time around the countryside. This looks like a hotspot around Kilkivan, and now the weekend is over the camp is very quiet. We’ll stay and log a few caches ! This is the first, although we did do the AdLab in town whilst getting coffee and visiting the butcher this morning. Surprised to find a forked rock here Haah ! So TFTC youngoldfella.
On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
I was wondering if this could be a cruel hide when the leaves grow. I don't think so.

After camping in nearby Kilkivan I headed out along Mudlo Rd to the national park. Another great country drive with good sized containers and good coords. Tftc youngoldfellow
That was an adventure going to a friends property that required us to put the car into 4 wheel drive. Very scary tracks for two women to be going on. However Muddtracks menuvered her sons car with great sheer confidence. Found this one quickly. Signed the log and on our way to Hervey Bay for the night. TFTC
On a day trip from Brisbane, and after visiting the chimney, this is where I stopped to catch up on some logs... while here I was asked if I was a local and knew anything of the cyclist who was killed at this intersection yesterday...
That certainly puts things into perspective... tftc...

Thanks for all the caches you’ve placed around Youngoldfella. You have certainly been generous in giving back to the game. We are catching up on logging some caches in this area that we found when we were camping up here. We found this one, signed the log and then replaced as found.

After an early morning sunrise event it was a drive up to Kilkivan for a weekend event.
This will be my first event of this type so I am not sure what to expect but I’ve been told they are fun and educational, OK.
Today’s kick off was 10am so this gave me a few hours to drive up and get a little caching in before the event started for me.
Driving along Wide bay highway I saw there was about 6 or so I could get to fill in some time before the event, this was one of those.
Thanks for the hide and with the log signed and cache replaced as found, I was onto the next one.

Spending the day at Kilkivan for a day of caching, love the quiet country roads as they are perfect for doing a cycling hunt . Good to get out of the sun to sign the log, TFHC youngoldfella.
My husband and I are on the way to carnorvan gorge and today our first stop was gayndah and on the way we were collecting some smileys. At gz it was a quick find in nice shady spot. Thanks for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
I suspect some of the caches here could be tricky on a week day at the moment. No works on a Sunday.

I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
For the end of the year, a plan was set afoot to go camping for a night in Auburn River National Park. Today I'm rolling out that way with Fangsoki and 1MinnieMoo as we head a bit north and a lot west from Brisbane. I was happy to just bother with the two priority geocaches hundreds of kilometres from home, but alas, there are plenty of geocaches along the way that make happy for statistics and challenge qualification all around, so a few stops were had - fine by me. Oh boy it is a long time since I've found any of these 'scattered along the roadside' style hides!
Quite nicely, I got to sit in the back, indifferent to where we stopped and MinnieMoo had planned which to stop at and run the pocket queries. Overall we found eleven in this Kilkivan-ish stretch of the Wide Bay Highway (even if circumstances dictated we wouldn't be at the event). This was to be our third such find this morning as we rolled into Kilkivan proper.
The Pajero was parked up across the road and all three of us scooted across and into the promised shade to hunt for this one. Minnie spotted it first and while I checked out the map and what was upcoming, Fang insisted on poking me with the biggest stick he could find. We had signed and replaced the geocache at 11:07 as a small crowd of other geocachers appeared. The decision was to get out of the way quickly. Thanks for this geocache, youngoldfella

Caching with Oddiewan, Moneydork, Flash_Cat, BitternA4 and others at the New Year event in Kilkivan. Exploring the area caching style and as always lots of laughs when enjoying time with friends.
Captain Terror, 1MinnieMoo and I were heading west to Auburn and its "environs". We deemed it would be plain rude not to grab a few caches as we headed west.

A big day out around the Kilkivan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up.
Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a good day of searching. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine . Looking forward to the next catch-up event.

TFTC. Day 3 of our caching trip away from our Bundaberg housesit. We shifted camp from Goomeri to Kilkivan where we are camped at Weir Oval. The route today was to go out on Muldo Road and then stop and relax, but that never happened we kept going . Had a great day 43 attempted and found. Thanks to the COs for helping us to enjoy the area. All caches were relatively quick finds.
We are on an eight day trip to Hervey Bay. We saw the most amazing wild creatures close up at Hervey Bay. Whales are ugly but still so wonderful. We also saw some beautiful countryside, although everywhere is in dire need of rain. Thanks for your cache which helped us take a break from driving and have fun at the same time.
We had time for a little caching as we travelled from Bathurst to Hervey Bay and back to see the whales. We thoroughly enjoyed both and are grateful for the caches which helped make the trip more enjoyable.
Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. Moving on today after some overnight rain, it was a case of sometimes having to wade through very long, very wet grass this morning, along with ilook4geo. It was a bit of a hit and miss day. Some caches we found OK, but some on the list we had to miss, as they were along a section of road where road works were happening and muggle workers were operating machinery at various points.
There was no problem with this one and all was in good condition. Thank you youngoldfella for placing this cache.
