Logs
Didn't find this one today, had a really good look and read a few previous logs. Short on time with this one too but spent a good 10 mins looking. Will try again at some stage - TFTC
We couldnt really see a good place to park so I half drove into the ditch. It was all good on my side of the car, however if my wife got out she was probably going T over A.I didnt think she would get out but she did and even stayed on her feet. tftc
I am again headed north for the weekend. And again, I have time to find a few caches on the way to break up the drive and stretch the legs. I managed to get the car off the road along the side of the road and made my way to GZ. I eventually found the cache well tucked away and hidden. The cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Out on the caching trail today. Beautiful winters day. Finally time to do this series in a loop from Goomeri, Kilkevin Tansy. All caches found in good condition unless otherwise stated.TFTC
Miss TT accompanied Chamad and Willis007 on a day out caching in my home town, all in name of chasing a special event cache in a hard to get LGA. When I do a day of caching, there are groans from the back-seat. Apparently she really enjoyed herself. I think the deal was sweetened with Bella the geopup tagging along. I am pleased that my little mini me was able to explore the countryside that I called home in my childhood.
Road trip! Attending an event out this way this morning, geopup and I caught up with chamad and a turmoil in Gympie and joined forces to collect some caches.A quick find here, log signed, cache replaced as found. Thanks youngoldfella for the cache.
Working our way back home now after a Saturday morning drive to a special event in a rare LGA, (cherbourg) and a continious drive up to Gayndah. I had triple turmoil (naya) with me and we meet up with Willis007 in Gympie, before heading to this event. A good size turnout and only time enough to catch up with a few of the teams there. It was then off to hopefully grab a few caches northwards as time was pressing on us today. We had no real plans just to get a couple in Gayndah and a few as we passed by. Success and we have made it to Goomeri now just stopping at the ones that were convenient. As always it was a day filled with laughs and jokes. We signed the log on this one and replaced all as found. Thanks for placing this one here. With the areas so lush and grass so high it did add to a little extra fun in finding the caches. This one was an easy grab. All good with this one.
After a lovely dinner at the blackbutt pub last night and a peaceful nights sleep it was an early morning start today to score a few caches before work begins. My target to day is to get to 100 caches in the south Burnett LGA to get one step closer to a challenge cache Im focusing on in Brisbane.Upon arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and made my way to ground zero. It didnt take long until I had located ground zero and I soon had the log out and was making my mark for prosperity. Safely returning the cache to its hiding place I was soon back in the van and off to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
As I was parked on the other side of the bridge it seemed that as I was crossing all the cars came at once. Had a quick find then hurried back over the bridge. Thanks for the cache.
Checking out the condition of the KKRT hoping to ride the trail next week. Collecting caches along the road as I was driving today.
Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Harder to get to than find. Had to run over the bridge after parking at Colman Siding Road. TFTC.
It's been far too many months since The Bromance last went on a weekend geocaching road trip so plans were made a couple of weeks ago for a journey north towards Kingaroy and the surrounding area. Unfortunately Crookedpete was unable to make it due to family commitments so it was a Bromance Lite+ trip of JezNDez, Swellerfungus and Seffnjarah.
Today was Day 2 of the trip, and after an overnight stay in a dingy motel in Kingaroy and a few caches picked up around town , we continued our journey northwards. Checked the obvious spot first before wandering slight further along and finding the cache tucked safely away. Signed the logbook with The Bromance team stamp (although there may be a slight glitch with the stamp date). TFTC

Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART!
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #8 of 20 smilies today.
Parked the Geo-Beast, with Mrs Vc & Winter the Geo-Cat safely inside, well out of harm & the traffic's way.
Peak hour at the moment it seems & they are flying.
Crossing that narrow bridge on foot will certainly be interesting!
A short stroll, a pause for a break in the traffic to appear then a quick sprint & I found myself at GZ.
Nice quick find.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
Now, ready ... set ... STOP!
That semi is way too close for my 'sprint' to be effective.
I waited for the traffic to ease (in BOTH directions) then did my best impression of Usain & made a bolt for it across the bridge.
Then I huffed & puffed my way back up the incline to where the remainder of team VC waited patiently for my return.

Hi there youngoldfella.
We found your cache **"Kinbombi Creek"** today. (This makes our find count 25504).
Today we decided to do a round trip Goomeri - Kilkivan - Tansy - Goomeri. We got almost all the way around before the heat and long grass sapped our energy. (It looks like we will have to return tomorrow to fully complete the circuit).
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 32 caches & 0 DNF's.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

While staying in Gympie for a few days with my Geodog Scruffy, we had to get out and find some caches in the area.

Nomads hunkering in their caravan near Murgon . We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we have to cope with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing. We are currently hunkered with our caravan on a farm at Manyung near Murgon.
Caching at least keeps us sane in a time of social distancing - when it is suitable. And now we have had some restrictions lifted
Another drive into Kilkivan. Had to visit the butcher for some more smoked ham..... Have passed here before, but today, we detoured and stopped, searched and found.
Mrs D found this cache, not in that spot, but in the last spot she looked... Thanks youngoldfella for the fun today

I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
Day after the 2019-2020 New Years catch up.
Caching our way home to Brisbane

Hatzofff has joined with me for some caching around the Kilkivan New Year and CITO Events.
Good hint made it a fairly easy find. Thanks.

A great opportunity to cache around Kilkivan. A selection of hides kept things interesting. Thanks to youngoldfella for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Friday. We couldn’t find a parking spot right near GZ like we usually do, so parked about 200m down the road. A bit of a hairy walk across the bridge with traffic whizzing past soon had me at GZ. I was still on high alert when I (in one of my very rare moments), decided to look at a certain spot first up and woohoo! Gotcha. Found this one in first spot I looked and was happy to sign the log. Diced the traffic so that I went back across the bridge in the gap of passing vehicles and got back to where Mr SP had originally parked the geomobile. In the meantime, he thought he’d attempt to repark the car so that I didn’t have to go back across the bridge, but we found that was not a good idea and he had to drive a further 5km back before he could turn around and come back. We worked for this smiley!
This was the 10th of 13 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***youngoldfella***, for showing us this place.

A big day out around the Kilkivan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up.
Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a good day of searching. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine . Looking forward to the next catch-up event.

Log signed at 10:15 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **youngoldfella**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

After caching from Teebar to Kilkivan, we decided it was too early to go back to our hotel so came out here for these four and this was the last one for the day. Not easy parking here and then found myself on the wrong side of the bridge and had to cross over for a quick find. TFTC youngoldfella
TFTC. Day 2 of our trip away from the House sit at Bundaberg, exploring the Goomeri/Kilkivan area. The plan today Wes to do a loop through Tansey to Kilkivan and then return via the Wide Bay Highway, a triangle shape. A great day 44 attempted and only 1 dnf. I suspect that we were getting tired and there were muggles camped close by. That’s our excuse. All caches were relatively straightforward finds and unless noted all in good order. Thanks to the COs for adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. All were easy find with no maintenance issues. TFTC
A bit of a trick if you park on the wrong side of the bridge. Got it after a quick scurry across said bridge. Thanks

We have travelled this highway before, so today we are just picking some caches that are a little bit off the main road, or ones that we had bypassed before. Each was found, (no DNF logs needed today), all logs were noted with two more names as we travel along with ilook4geo. The biggest problem we had, was that with so many of the caches we were not able to find a safe place to park. Roadside growth is quite long and the gravel parts were very narrow.
Thankfully no accidents happened. Thanks go to youngoldfella for these caches and some more smiley faces on our map for today.

Today was basically a hunt for youngoldfella caches. We came along with goingplaces2, found the caches and signed the logs. They were in good nick and were replaced as found when we had finished. TFTC.

Heading home from the event in Kilkivan, I still had time to find a few caches, if I didn't head to the highway. That made the decision of which way to go an easy one. Heading out of town, this was another cache that I hadn't found. Naturally, I stopped and headed to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Came to Kilkivan for the 2018-2019 New Year Event. Great to meet some of the names we often see in the logs. Thanks to the organisers for their efforts in hosting the event and their caches.
Thank you for all these caches you guys place. Really enjoyed this event. If available will be back for the next. TFTC youngoldfella
Drove up from Canberra to Caloundra, to stay with my parents for the Christmas school holidays.
While I was up here I also Came to Kilkivan for the New Year Cache Up event/weekend.
This morning PB1973 took Grannysmith, Sweet-Sour, and I up to find the Mt Mia cache, and 4 other new caches, then I went back out with Grannysmith and Millie the geodog and we found a heap more new caches before heading back mid-afternoon and I spent the evening eating nibbles and drinking a beer or 2
