Find# 12535Nice quick find. GPS took us to the correct tree and spotted about 3.5m up. Easy climb. We spotted a plane taking off while retrieving the cache. Logsheet is missing. TFTC Dragons2010
Today I brought with me a TOTT which helped to reach the cache. Glad to finally tick this one off. TFTC
Today fitzy_1965 and I headed north to collect a birthday present.Whilst in the area we couldn't resist a bit of caching on such a glorious winters day.All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Found with minniek during a short meander around the Camden region. It was a lovely if a bit chilly Sunday, and we headed up to Tahmoor to pick up a birthday present (the dreaded 'Birthday Week' is looming). Once that was ticked off we did a drive around the area cherry-picking a few caches we haven't found on previous trips. This was the next find of the day for me, and it took a few minutes to spot. Then - when minniek had stopped mucking about - she made the grab. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next cache on our list. Thanks Dragons2010 !!
A geocheck revealed that the cache is still there. Although the container is a bit weathered. Will make a new container and replace, in the meantime still good to go
No luck for me climb up about half way up both trees near gz Nothing found before local dog walking group came And that was the end of my search with about 10 people and lots of dogs
My grandson (a special needs person) and I believe we found this cache, I am 80 yo and cannot climb the tree, I think we spotted the cache attached with wire to a branch so would like to claim it. Mike (x-pair)
Climbed up the obvious tree and then spotted the cache. Nice little tree climb
Spotted the cache after a brief search and was able to get up the tree and sign the log. TFTC.
Spent some time earlier to do a bunch of maintenance while the Geomissus is away with her mother visiting our daughter interstate, and then head out for a small bunch of almost local hides which I’ve been attempting to get to for some time. But I’m still a little time restricted so have to choose my targets wisely. Had a few fails previous to coming into The Oaks History series, so hoping for a bit more luck this time.
Apologies to the CO for the slow logging, but it’s been a hectic few weeks
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
I decided to tackle this hide as my final for the day, as it was a bit of a walk to it, and the gates to the area were not only locked, but the area was seemingly deserted. After having a little drink from the GeoSuzi, as it was now warming up, I made my way towards the gates, and came across a muggle entering the same area with her muggle pooch. Awkward. Bid a friendly good morning, and a little appropriate small talk as we both entered the arena, but then headed in different directions. Cool, I’m in the clear. Looking at the location on my phone, I could see the location so put my device away for the moment, and made my way there.
It’s been many, many years, but I have been here before. I had played a couple of games of club cricket here. And there were no fences, stands or amenities at all at that point, but yes, the airstrip was most definitely there. I’m not sure, but I tend to think that possibly even that plane carcass may have been there, but can’t be sure.
On my way over, I could hear some voices, and then the sound of very young children. Oh no! How unfortunate, but I just powerwalked past them. It wasn’t long until I arrived into the area and extracted the device to home in on the final GZ. With the description and hint in mind, once again circled fruitlessly for what seemed an eternity. Where could it be. Previous logs were not helpful. Frustration was setting in, but what’s this, dog muggle person has appeared in the area as I’m deep in the bushes. Ok, planned defensive strategy required now, as the dog has spotted me and the owner was approaching. I made a bold step out into the open much to their surprise. After more brief salutations, I kindly explained to them that I was not some perverted old bloke doing weird stuff in the bushes, but actually was partaking in an organised activity. After some time explaining what exactly was taking place, they actually spent a little time trying to help me, but unfortunately I was getting nowhere. They eventually lost interest, and was left to my own devices.
Out of frustration, I finally contacted the CO, hoping for an extra hint, but COs are not at your beck and call when it comes to these things. So after some time in a particular area, I moved a little further afield and noticed something odd. After careful examination, I could see what was going on. Not quite what I was anticipating, but a nice challenge all the same! Performed what was required and replaced.
So now to head back! There was now a little bit of activity on the airstrip with a few aircraft making use of the strip, but I couldnt find myself in any of those things. I like the much bigger variety!
Thanks Curlybunny666 for this little series that I will now have to return to at some point to complete, it’s been a nice morning of caching.

Found It!
A nice walk here then after a bit of looking up I spotted the cache. Then just a quick little climb and I had it in hand!

I was flaming around in the tree and them my dad said is that it? And turns out that it was
A little climb for a thematically cameo’d cache next to a secret working airfield with all the at history? Worth a fav thankyou
Found with Iwalkamongyou. A plane was taking off while we were searching for the cache so I ran off to get a photo. TFTC
Now this a haunting sight, a Sunday morning and no people or horses to be seen, when I was a kid this was a bustling place on a Sunday morning, horse floats packed in, horses everywhere with parents and kids getting ready for their weekly pony club meet. Such a busy place, but now it is a quiet Sunday morning with nothing happening in here. To the right of us we watched a bright yellow light plane take off at the airport, that was fun to watch. On to the cache, we made the find. Very sneaky hide TFTC
Finalf29 and I had a lovely afternoon cleaning up some caches around Warragamba after attending the Community Celebrations event. It has been a while since Finalf29 and I have gone on a caching raid together. It was wonderful to have my bestest ever bud back as my wingman... Thanks to all the CO's for giving back to the game
This was an enjoyable walk late in the afternoon. Soon had the cache spotted but unfortunately, we hadn't brought any appropriate TOTT to help us retrieve it. I was tossing up my ability to scramble up there when a lovely person with a gorgeous dog helped us... he was a muggle but interested in our explanation of geocaching. Geocaching has taken us to such amazing places but we have also met such wonderful people along the way. Thanks

A quick find on my way to Picton, the main focus of today's geo-excursion. Didn't take note of what was involved in retrieving this cache prior to my arrival at GZ so must admit I was ill prepared for the challenge before me. Thanks for bringing me to see where planes come to die dragons2010.
A last minute Sunday caching trip to Picton and Warragamba to pick up some newer caches. All finds were good and straight forward.

Located the cache nicely camouflage but didn’t think I was up to being Tarzan . So didn’t physically get the log but I’m happy to say I found it . TFTC
Found while on a lockdown adventure. Couldn’t quite reach it to write our names in but happy to have found it
A challenge for the last cache of the day. Almost completed my wonders of the world! Thanks
So, with my coordinates being way out, i found myself on a little river walk, no worries I'm enjoying it.
Get to 7 metres, ding, ohhh I must be close.
Looks up in and around multiple trees. 1 hour later.
Iv saved 3 beautiful butterflies from the wonderful sticky NESS of the local spiders, watched multiple small air planes take off and still no cach.
I'm adamant I'm not leaving until I at least spot it.
Re trace your steps I say, and booom.i literally looked at it my first time round and thought nothing of it, haha woo and up I go,and my pens gone
Haha a good time spent. Thanks for that cach

Just catching up on logs. Found with TanCan20 and Meritonnn. Was funny watching Meritonnn reach the cache TFTC!
Had a few giggles as my geobuddy Meritonnn used me as a stepping stone to get a leg up. Great camo. TFTC
Quite the adventure here this evening OCW with TanCan20 and GGCoconut, once reaching GZ the cache was soon located. But how to retrieve it?!?! We tried approaching from the front - nope. From the back - nope. Using nearby natural TOTTs - nope. Omg! We are so close, and not wanting to leave without signing that log! Hmmmm... What to do, what to do?? Finally TanCan20 offers to act as a human TOTT to help me scramble up somehow we made it work and up I went! But that wasn't the end of it! Once up it was a stretchhhhh and reachhhhh and ok I've got it! But just as I've got it unscrewed and about to pull out the log to sign... IT BLEW AWAY!!!! NO!!!!!! Luckily TanCan20 and GGCoconut were onto it and managed to locate and sign. Phewww!!! A very careful replacement operation and then... How the hell do I get down from here?!?! Well, I've lived to tell the tale! Tftc! An FP because I love a good cache that pushes me!
Pleasant walk through the reserve with no one around. Checked out two possible locations before spotting it then up I went for the retrieval. Nice themed camo. TFTC
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Farmers friends or farmers foes- whatever they were there were hundreds of them near GZ. Managed to avoid most of them and spot the hide. Saw a plane doing laps taking off and landing which was great. TFTC!
For us it was a little out of the regular range, but the phone service not great here Kid has fun retrieving this one.
I came into this cache looking for something in particular given its location. After searching for some time I reverted to searching on the ground. Misspalot's geohusband again found this one, but it was up to me to try and grab the cache from its location, which proved reasonably difficult, but I may have just chosen a difficult path. Nonetheless, cache was found and signed. TFTC!
My closest unfound cache to home.
Spotted the cache pretty easily.
Had a muggle friend with me who made the retrieval.

Took advantage of the day off by clearing out more of my 50km radius. I put a significant dint in the map, finding 26 caches in total! Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches.
A nice tree climb in the dark. Thanks For The Cache!

Came searching for this one with the 8 year old. We really enjoyed finding this one!
Totally targeted the wrong go! Our OC climbed the wrong tree on the wrong side of the fence. When we expanded the search a bit the cache was just there waiting to be found. Looks like a tiny bird or something has been at it, but still all good. We made our mark whilst the geokids made geovids on the GoPro. We watched 3 planes take off. A local golfer was practicing his skills on the nearby field. TFTC Dragons2010 xo
We needed to fill a blank calendar day, so it was convenient to drive up for this cache. A very nice cache with a bit of fun to retrieve it. A FP. TFTC and the history. It is always good to learn things in small doses.
Did this one when there was a break in a Football match at the oval.Took some heavy
equipment with me this time and there it was in plain site TFTC

Hanging around for kids sport, I ducked over to nab this one. Took a bit to figure out just how I was gonna get it but I did. Nice cache but I wish it was in an easier location. TFTC
Taking advantage of house/dogsitting for a short detour in/around Camden area, almost gave up on this one before I started due to day’s intense heat and the estimated walk due to a locked gate (which frustratingly was open by the time I returned to the car). After grabbing a slightly closer one (also further because of the gate), I could see the likely GZ for this one and insanely pushed on. Insanity turned into injury while even navigating various geotrails, let alone reaching the cache itself. Nice history and location but so many better spots would have given this a fav, though sadly not this time.
Searched for a good half hour high & high and more high with no luck.Got spiked in the leg and drew blood so time to give this one away.
Despite spending a lot of time in the area over the past three weeks I've been unable to get to this cache. This evening I finally made it. My app GPS was flicking back and forth wildly for some reason but the map was familiar and the metres were counting down. I soon got to the spot and thought I had a fair idea of where to look, but a thorough search revealed nothing. It took a hint from a previous log to tell me that I needed to adjust myself spatially and it didn't take long before I was signing the log. Nice container design for another fascinating history lesson.
Lucky that I wasent wearing a frock today. This was good training for stretching the leg muscles and arm grips.
Soon had the log filled and back down. TFTC

I had two ideas for the camo. Right first time!!!
The hide to a bit to retrieve and sign. But, I got there in the end.

Found with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket, a great cache. great camo and a good hide. a Favourite point from me. TFTC
Found with 007Mushu and Little Cricket on this nice drizzly afternoon. I was unaware that there used to be a racetrack here, I used to ride my horse here when I was younger. Great camo TFTC
FTF 14:30 - A great write up of the local history of the airport and racetrack. An easy walk to GZ then spotted the themed cache with its payload attached. Once disarmed I found a blank log. Well done, thanks.
