Ministro disabled this geocache on 13-July-2021. Previous log by Runawayz on 6-July-2021 advises that the stump was removed and that the CO hasn’t been geocaching since shortly after cache was placed. As noted on her profile page, Chinchillageo’s last visited 29-01-2019.
In addition, the lack of response to the temporary disabling of cache supports the need for this to be archived. It is also worth noting that Ministro archived chinchillageo’s GC82RR8 Chinchilla Pioneers on 23-May. Please archive and make the red boundary circle disappear.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

Dam(n). Wish we had read the activity log before driving out here. Kids enjoyed stretching their legs on the playground though
Due to recent upgrade works at Chinchilla Weir the tree stump that held the geocache has been removed and geocache has gone. The owner of the geocache has not been active since shortly after placing this cache and hasn’t responded to any previous messages regarding maintenance on their geocaches. I had been maintaining them as much as I could, but it is now time to archive this one.
I have found this before I was visiting the weir. This one can be taken down as the tree stump is no longer there
Huge upgrade of camping area going on. Found likely tree but no sign of it. Thanks anyway.
Although the road is blocked, you can still walk to GZ. There has been a lot of work done to create camping facilities here, and I really think the cache no longer exists.
Dropped by the weir and saw it in its hidey spot. This is my first geocache. Thanks creators
Day 17 of our Western trip for work and caching. Today's trip from Roma heading home.
Doing some maintenance and some smiles as we go.
It happened. The base went toppling down the bank. RoddyC was sent to retrieve it.

Final (Seventeenth) day of our Western Queensland trip on our way home.
Found the cache ok right next door to the van of some relaxing long weekenders. Hatzoff accidentally dropped the container down the bank!
All good now.
Cache located, log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC, Chinchillageo, at 11:42 AM on October 5, 2020.

Great cache. Thanks for arranging the hide and interesting placement. Our thanks to Chinchillageo for placing this cache and enhancing our enjoyment of the area.
Day 1 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Brisbane to Roma. We spent the day slowly driving (is there any other way for geocachers?) to Roma and picking up the odd geocache here and there. No real targets beyond a couple of older caches.
Nice area for a quick stop and cache. TFTC!

Very busy park today, shame the water level was a little low the birds, however we still have great time. I bet with the rains this area would be looking lush.
My youngest and I were travelling on a roadtrip for the school holidays, exploring the countryside and collecting smilies at a few caches. We called in here at this pretty spot and made a quick find thanks to the hint. I dropped off aTravel Bug to continue its journey. Tftc Chinchillageo
I was here in November last year and got a hand full of wasp stings when I put my hand in a hole higher up in the hide. Refer back to my photo from that day.
Today I was able to get this one and turned the sad face into a smiley face.
I also went to the area where the poor little girl that had been murdered a while back and buried near the weir where she was found this year. So sad

Day 1 of my road trip out west today, I headed to this lovely spot to find a cache.
As I arrived near GZ, I had opened the boot of my car to get a drink of water and to grab some maintenance items as the previous note indicated it may be required.
A little girl wandered up and chatted for a bit and started to wander off. She stopped nearby and told me someone had left their food container in there! Ah, good, that must be the cache!
After signing the log, I replaced the cache with a lot more cover. I am not sure where its intended location is but it is reasonably well hidden for now.
Thanks Chinchillageo for the cache.

Was going to do a maintenance check but way to many muggles with campervans & caravans. No amount of stealth was going to get me where I could grab container. I'm hoping to track down 'Chinchillageo'.
If you are heading out to grab this one, it might be worth taking a spare container & logbook so you can do a little maintenance if it needs it.

We had friends (NON GEOCACHERS) find this one while prospecting and sent us a photo. We advised them to put it back and cover as best they can with natural material.
Cache has been destroyed... put empty cashe back into to location and contacted owner.
I was in the area so decided to check on this one. It was not there. I have reached out to Chinchillageo to let them know.
I got a feeling this one is gone, the obvious place was empty even with a scratch around. However be warned don’t put your hand in the hole up high , the red wasp guardians take their job serious. I got two hits on my left hand, one drew blood. Hand is now quite swollen. The owner will need to check it
On our way home slowly after the QOGM event in Blackall and finding some great geocaches along the way.
If the container is small we may sign as CG.
Plenty of campers enjoying the serenity.
Lots of thanks to Chinchillageo for placing the cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

The oasis was looking a little bit dry today.
Still a nice spot though to visit and find me a cache
No danger of any noisy water-ski boats here !! [^]
Away from the few Grey Gomads and campers,
I soon found this cache.

Having left Adelaide in early July and traveled as far north as Townsville we made our way home slowly.
It's still cold down there!
Today we stopped at this nice camp at the wier and lo and behold there was a cache thirty metres away.
Quickly found and signed.

FROM NZ
We are on an out back tour from rocky heading to Emerald and on to Longreach then back through Blackall and on down to Dalby
Heaps of caravans here at the moment. Luckily for us everyone was engrossed with a van being loaded on to a tilt tray (not a lucky moment for the owner) We were able to search in peace and made a quick find.

Cache check, trackable dip & pathtag drop. All good with log book and cache. Cheers.

Camped here overnight with a good number of others. A great facility for travellers. It was nice and quiet once everyone left in the morning so we wandered over to GZ and retrieved the cache. We tried to hide it a little more when we replaced it to hopefully not have it muggled.
A weekend away, heading west. A detour from the main highway brought me to this cache. The light rain had kept most of the muggles away from this nice spot today. That made finding the cache at GZ easy. With my name added to the log and the cache returned to its spot, I continued on my way. TFTC
29/05/2019 Yesterday my friend Kat Kacher informed me that the cache had been muggled, or at least she couldn't find it on 2 separate visits to the weir. So we made plans to head out there this week and confirm. We can say that it is no longer there. We did find part of the lid but nothing else. We took a replacement cache container (400ml sistema clip) with a few small swag items, a "what is geocaching" card, a "you found it" muggle card, a pencil, sharpener, and a replacement log. It is in the same place as original with the addition of some concrete rocks. If it gets muggled again, Chinchillageo might have to figure something out. But for now, there is a cache to find.
This should have been an easy find as there are not too many places to hide. A previous log pointed to a specific location but it was not to be.
In the area visiting Mrs Wallaby's Dad and my Father-in-law, who is the caretaker at the Chinchilla Museum, after a visit and chinwag we headed out and grabbed a few local geocaches, this was one, we have dropped off a trackable with a mission to be near water, what better than a weir... the past few times we've been here we had muggles galore, this time we got mugged by a group of Apostlebirds who made their presence known and even came over for a feed... great spot, great cache!! Favourite Point for this one
Arrived in the area and nearly drove right to GZ. Short walk later and soon had the container in hand. It had slipped down and was in full sight to anyone looking at the hole in the tree. Signed log and replaced and pushed it up out of sight. All good. TFTC Chinchillageo
During my visit to the library yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there are Introduction to Geocaching workshops being held (10am - 11am) at Tara library Saturday 23rd Feb, Miles library Saturday 2nd March, Chinchilla library Saturday 9th March and Dalby library Saturday 16th March.
Im stoked because I don't think many people in Chinchilla know what it is....yet. When I started geocaching in June 2018, there were 2 active geocaches nearby, GC110AC Kiss Kiss - 7km from the Chinchilla Information Centre, and GCW736 Weird Welcome 9k from the info centre. In town itself the only cache was disabled. Now there are 3 geocaches in town, but when I own them there would be no FTF for me.
Hyped about the workshops and with the desire to get a FTF this year I couldnt believe my luck when the notification came through that Chinchilla had a new cache published.
I did consider waiting for the weekend but then I rememberd it's Australia Day long weekend, so the ski club and weir would be busy, & there's a ftf to be had. So had to give it a red hot go. literally. it was so hot, that the 3 km walk to the shell servo had my wondering if I was going to have to abort the mission for the day luckily after reaching out, a friend met me and drove me there. Thanks to her, my first to find mission was a success.
