I too made a miscalculation (pays to read the calculation directions correctly), and was looking at being on private land.Quick revisit to the data and instructions, adjusted the calcs and then quickly on my way.Cache was found relatively easily, though the log is damp affected and beginning to disintegrate in parts. Warm weather may dry it out.TFTC
Out adventuring and kyliesmiley put me on to this multi. I never knew this place was here, plenty of history in G town. TFTC
Been on my to do list for so long, lovely visit today with Jamesta18 Some really old history here , I have a habit of googling names and finding out back storys of people long gone. Very cool (The log is very wet and falling apart )TFTC fav point
Over this way picking up a few caches, made a slight miscalculation with the co-ords which put the final on private property- oops, back to check the clues and saw my mistake, correct co-ordinates found, cache was exactly where they said it was TFTC
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. Spending a few days in Nuriootpa to cache the surrounds. Loving the scenery that we pass as we move through the caches - this is our preferred caching - not suburbs. Thanks for the smiley Lava12
Now that the bike series was completed we continued onto the Barossa series. LB bid us a fond farewell at Swan Reach so now the convoy consisted of feathertop, GoodLook,Rapidlywild, TheDame and The Drovers. After completing the Barossa Grape series we parted ways with the rest of the group as they ventured to another series that we had already completed. So it was just back to signing the log as Rapidlywild and FurfacesLL and we just let the GPS lead the way from cache to cache. Another nice multi here. Thanks for the multi and hide Lava12 and thanks for a fun adventure Rapidlywild.
Plans have been in place for a little while now about a convoy from the Canberra Mega to head over to SA and finish off what currently stands of the On Your Bike series. Today being day 4 of the trip away, todays convoy consisted of GoodLook, TheDame, feathertop, The Drovers, FurfacesLL and myself.Today's primary target was the Barossa Grapes series of caches. Having "The Mob" finish the Barossa Grapes off, we went our own ways for the rest of the day. Some went off to do another series nearby that FFLL and I had already done, so we followed the GPS for a while and collected other caches nearby. We then went into Gawler for a specific cache and did a few more there too.A nice single offset Multi with a fitting final location. Log stamped and off we went to the next on the GPS.Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance Lava12 and thanks FurfacesLL for another fun trip away
We are in town for the Adelaide Mega and are currently staying with a geocaching friend who we needed to take to town for an appointment. While this is happening we headed out and found some of the local geocaches finding 11 in total. All the caches we haunted for were found and are in good condition, Log books are all OK. SL TFTC
Day 3 of my Great Leap Forward 2024 trip. Snaking my way around the countryside. Nice multi. I do love cemetery caches. Grey Shrike-thrush singing at GZ. Logbook is quite moist. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
TFTC Lava12 your cache Olive's Ghost#2 that we found today. Day 5 in Mallala as we wait for the Leap Day Mega. The day started with a Meet and Greet event in Gawler. After the event we continued where we left off in town chasing the rest of the multi caches in town as well as an AL, whereigo and a couple of puzzle caches. We also found a few traditionals. We could have kept going but we had had enough of travelling on dusty roads over the past couple of weeks. Back to camp to prepare for our move too Adelaide on Sunday.Find Count: 18426
With some free time before the busy festive period, combined with todays good weather, I decided to head out for a day of caching. The plan was to head out to Two Wells, to target a couple of specific caches, before making my way towards Gawler to attempt some of the Anna Tommy series and a few other surrounding caches. My aim for my last few caches in Gawler was to target some unique caches, either by type or age. Once I was at the listed coordinates, I soon had the required information in hand and had worked out a potential ground zero. Once there, I was not quite sure of my calculations; however, after a short search, I soon had the cache in hand. The log was signed, the cache replaced, and I decided to make my way home after a good day of caching.Find #8216, at 06:17 pmTFTC
Out for a walk with the dog, so an opportunity to tick this one of yhe list. A simple little multi with a nice hide at the end. TFTC.
After saying G'day to the home owner the cache was spotted and signed. Also found a monarch butterfly near by.TFTC
Southern Autumn adventure Day 43. Mid North section of SA trip Day 14. Gawler Day 2. With only a small target in front of me for caching numbers today, I decided to have a go at some of the caches spread around town here in Gawler today. There was a transcription problem that took me to Lyndoch as well, but I will say no more of that. There were a couple of really impressive caches I came across today.
I had an enjoyable, but short walk around the graveyard, before coming down here to have a look for this cache. It really blends in, and was quite difficult to see.
Thanks for the cache Lava12

After a morning breakfast event in Gawler then a drive to Warren Reservoir and a few caches in Williamstown and Lyndoch I was back in Gawler to find a few more before heading home. I might as well make the drive here worth it. [^]
And another Lava cache which was quickly found.
Thanks for the cache Lava12.

We needed a find for the 19th of March to fill our calendar and we couldn't get the one-and-only Gawler whereigo to work so we headed here instead. We remember finding other Olive caches early in our caching life. (Olive strikes back GC1QEZW and Return of the Olive GC23F9C - incidentally, we rode past this one today to get to the cemetery!)
Quietly gathered the info required and headed to GZ where a quick find was had.

I found this cache with The Booos while in Adelaide for the Great Leap forward Mega Event a nice quick find here today TFTC
Out for a days caching out North. Not the most productive day, quite a few DNFs.
Managed to get a few scratches for my trouble.
All caches found were in good order unless otherwise noted.

Only a few caches today as I only had half a day as I had some work at home to do in the afternoon.. So I picked up Mrs S.A. Sewer Rat for a quick trip to the Barossa for some maintenance and drop off an item to fellow geocachers. [^] The actual facts about this are far less saucy than my abridged narrative so of course I am going with my story. Returning from the South East on Monday Sal and I were diverted to a nudist camp so we could pick up some items left behind after the geocachers had been there over the weekend. The rest I will leave to your imagination because the truth was far less amusing. So here is what the Rat and I managed returning this mystery item.
I had found Olive's Ghost before so it was a bit deja vu. In fact that cache finished just a little further on. [^] Not so far to go this time and after a short walk I soon had this cache in hand as well.
***Thanks Lava12 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Found this a while back but never did log, i remember having coords of slightly so co helped lead me in the right direction. Stamped and returned all in good order.
Out caching with The Von Smith's today and we had targeted a few caches in Gawler to look for. This was on the way through so we stopped to have a look. Thank goodness for the checksum - otherwise we would have been in trouble after making a small mistake on a number. We do have the correct coordinates and I made the quick find at GZ. The pun made sense in the end! TFTC Lava12
Today I decided to head out for a days caching with it being a public holiday and not having anything else to do. I find Australia Day to be a pointless day off if not attached to a weekend, change the date and make it always be attached to a weekend.
It was quite a warm day which didn’t hinder my 15000 step count but made for thirsty work.
Found 40 caches for the day, very productive. Some great hides today in Gawler and Nuriootpa. Still so many to come back for, need to get some puzzles solved.
Thankfully no snakes spied today.
Finished the day off with a lovely Zambreros in Gawler on the way home.
My appreciative thanks to all the COs for the wonderful hides.
Some brain fade here but got there in the end. Always miss the hound at cemeteries he used to love them. Miss our boy.

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

Today we drove to the North and then Northeast of Adelaide to collect some interesting caches we had highlighted from out must do list while still in Tassie, after that it will be the On Your Bike series.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

Wow I did not do Well on this one. My coords were on the track. I looked around and spotted the theme of the hide 20m away. Thanks for the cache Lava12. Happy Australia Day
I did the calcs on this one, in the heat of the day, and miscalculated GZ. All corrected and ready for my next trip to Gawler.

I read the hint after making the find. I’d failed to make the connection. Thanks for this multi.
Found during a caching trip with e.gregory1 for the day. The main aim was to complete the Anna Tommy puzzle series but we extended our foray to find a number of other caches around the Gawler area. It was a great day for caching, the weather cool and cloudy, and we managed to dodge the showers. Also chatted to a couple of friendly farmers along the way. Thanks for cache Lava12!
This cache was found on a trip to the Gawler area with FeatherWaite today. Our main aim was to complete the ‘Anna Tommy’ puzzle series, but we also took the opportunity to target some other selected puzzles and multis, and grabbed a few traditionals that we passed along the way.
We had a good day weather wise. Despite the threat of rain, it held off all day for us. We were a bit surprised at just how busy some of the back roads were, with a constant stream of passing traffic. A couple of local farmers also stopped for a chat and to see what we were up to. Apparently there has been quite a lot of theft and illegal dumping out this way of late.
The required information was quickly gathered and GZ calculated. The cache was found without any trouble and the container and log sheet were in good condition.
All in all it was a very productive and enjoyable day out with around 60 finds in total and no DNFs.
Thanks Lava12 for the cache.

Olive tree's are in the top 10 of the "Losing An Eye", threat of trees and bushes. They are just plain deadly but forgiven as they do yield one of most favourite of fruits
Gathered the needed info at the listed co-ords. I was stumped a bit on the A&B side of the needed info. My 1st calculation had me way north in a field [:o] even though it did add up to the checksum needed for the Sth co-ords.
After that was sorted i had a much better looking and very likely GZ.

Rex needed a run so I decided to head out past Gawler to find a dirt road, which I managed to do and he had a good 3km run [|)][|)] while I got to pat 4 gorgeous horses [^]
Found a multi and a trad and interestingly, I'd found both caches before [?] Ok, their previous incarnations then... not these actual caches
So 2 cache finds, a tired [|)] dog [^] and now it's home for a sleep[|)][|)]
I smiled while remembering finding the previous incarnation of this cache as that was one slippery slope so I had to come and do this version even if I did drive past several other multis to get here [^]
Rex loves cemetery caches[:X], especially old country ones [:X] and then he had fun at GZ too as he followed a rabbit straight to GZ

On International Geocaching Day, it was a day of geocaching centering around Gawler and the associated celebratory event held at lunch. I woke up early to complete the 5 km Parkrun in Gawler, which was a new location for me, and then I met up with gridge98 to drive around the various caches in the vicinity. After a few geocache finds in central Gawler including Clonlea Park, we then completed a few mini power trails such as the serenity series and Meat Trail.
After lunch, I went solo to continue solving multi-caches and collecting some older 2007 caches in Gawler. As it got dark, I drove along the Gawler - One Tree Hill Road to collect the intermittent caches along there, to arrive home just after dark to discover the whole blocks had no power for another few hours. A nice day out and finding in good weather.
A nice pun indeed. The numbers were easily collected at the first waypoint, and a short drive later down what it seemed a private driveway, I checked around to find a familiar Lava12 cache construction hide. Interesting structure nearby GZ also, thanks Lava12.

Easily worked out with clare007 and a quick find at the GZ!!! Thanks Lava12 for the hide!!
A pleasant drive around Gawler as the rain had disappeared.
After crunching some numbers it was a cruisy drive down the road to the final waypoint.
Thanks for the hide Lava12

Olive and Mary kept me amused for nearly an hour. I had the answer then I overthought the numbers and headed elsewhere. That a mistake. The cache is not in the middle of the Gawler River. Checked my numbers again and headed to the first place I calculated.
Easter 2020 sees SA hosting the next Easter big event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

On a girls weekend away at the Barossa to celebrate hevwalkers birthday. A group of 5 enjoyed stopping off at cellar doors, a chocolate factory, took in a couple of scenic look outs and threw in a spot of caching along the way.
Day two: we said our goodbyes and the group of 5 became 3... time to cache our way towards Gawler
After maintenance on my nearby JB trail we stopped here to find just one more. I've been here before. Didn't like the cache guardian at the final GZ... it seems very at home in the cache holder. Had me doing a ninja dance and flinging the cache away and hevwalker retrieving it and replacing the cache after we both stamped the log book.
TFTC (I think) Lava12

Heading home the long way after a weekend in the Barossa...
A nice simple multi found with LiB...
There was a cache guardian that went flying as Lib grabbed the cache & flung it and the spider...
I retrieved the cache...
We stamped the log & I placed it back minus the guardian...

I thought I found this one before it’s cause it was the original one, still made the nice and easy calculation.
A big day out today with a total of 47 finds, all found all over the place, from Brighton in Adelaide to blanchetown through the Barossa and the back roads. Not the best day to cache with continual rain though.
Thanks for the cache

Out for a day's caching with the Owl. The aim was to visit some of the JBT caches and a few other caches in the area.
I had a feeling of deja vu doing this cache, thanks Lava12..

Information gathered quickly and Owl headed to a location she knew... then did a u-turn and headed to GZ instead! Another welcome multi to the tally.
We always enjoy a Multi-cache and so we stopped off to undertake for this one today. We soon found the numbers required at the waypoint given and then with our GPS updated with the corrected co-ordinates we moved on towards Ground Zero where the cache was located where we had guessed it might be! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
