Trying to catch up on all the logging from the Dunedin Toroa Mega Event. An amazing time was had by all. For the last couple of days, we teamed up with our mates from Team BoP and went hard. Logs signed as MDF & FANGSN (combinations of our caching names)Checked challenges when got home and logging the ones we each qualify for. Many thanks for the fun and experiences had.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Due to the weather, were also joining MDF - Our BoP Teammates.[squirrel nutcase](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=squirrel%20nutcase) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC83M8E/40803 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.squirrel nutcase fulfills challenge Quacking Bike 100 challenge (Dunedin) (GC83M8E) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC83M8E/40803

This is the second day of my whirlwind visit to New Zealand - my first time in NZ.Today, I teamed up with barb2e, SmittenGranny, Joolay and Kittykatch. We signed the caches as CCD (Canberra Cachers in Dunedin) or with names. From the first cache - and event - onwards it was rather damp. But this did not dampen our spirits and we made good progress in visiting and signing caches to the north of the bay. It would have been nice to see from all the vistas we went to.TFTCLooks like I am slightly overqualified for this challenge.isopeda has used Project-GC to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.You have found 2012 caches of type "Bikes allowed"

Day four of the GeoToroa Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and our better halves. After a couple of nights in Queenstown, arrived in Dunedin yesterday for the Mega weekend. Today started with the Mega Opening Event and a nearby LBH before we hit the road with McLookers and feathertop for the Aeroplane series, followed by some challenge caches as well as a few in the Albatross series along the way as well. The weather was not kind with steady rain as well as the occasional heavy shower as we made our way around some interesting terrain, including some quite wet, steep and slippery dirt roads.Signed the log for this cache and will claim a find once I can confirm that I qualify for the challenge.TFTC Natalie247 Smile

A quick find here in the rain by G of GKMLB. TFTC Natalie247.Day 3 of our Mega experience, and today is the opening day.The weather is not great so its mainly just ducks and geocachers out today, and other hardy local souls. Our goals were pretty fluid as we had a full map to choose from, but we teamed up with GKMLB and settled on a trip to Port Chalmers picking up solved mysteries, qualified challenges, Ad Labs, Virtuals and the like on the way. Our return trip took the higher road and targeted the same sort of things, a lot of solved mysteries up there for us.This took us eventually back to Baldwin Street where we did the Ad Lab and bonus then eventually back to the event for the CITO where we called it a day, heading home to hang out with our hosts and to get warm.A good day though, and the FTF was the highlight. All caches signed GRRM for our initials. Thanks all.ricardinho.nz fulfills challenge Quacking Bike 100 challenge (Dunedin) (GC83M8E) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC83M8E/40803

Despite the rain, Isopeda, barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay and I travelled together today and we signed caches that we found either individually or as CCD, Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Our aim was to find as many Unknown caches as possible. We had spent many zoom sessions working together to solve these before we even travelled across the ditch. We found nearly all of them and after signing duties were completed, the caches were replaced as found. Huge thanks to all who contributed to making our visit such a success.Special thanks to Natalie247 for your incredible efforts.

I'd left Paihia after work yesterday to get to Auckland ready for todays 7am flight. A 4am start meant I arrived down for the Dunedin Mega by 9am and met up with 0B80B8 for a days geocaching. The aim was to collect lots of solved puzzles as we made our way out to Port Chalmers. As aways my list was too ambitious but we did find 29 mystery puzzles today. It was a lovely warm day and we met plenty of other geocachers out there collecting the albatross series too.I do love challenges. I ran the checker in October 2022 and had 890 bike finds. Two years later I now have 1507. I did like the neat container. This is day two of my Dunedin Mega trip, the first time I've ever been here before (never mind geocaching). Obviously with such a plethora of caches to find there's going to be plenty I'll skip but I hope to find my targets. Unfortunately logging is going to be generic, but thank you to all the cache owners and event organisers for the things you do.Hint complicated but easy to spot. And today is our day in Dunedin. We have our Speights' Brewery tour followed by the Albatrosses and Penguins on the peninsula. But we have time this morning for a look around. My muggle friends decided to enjoy the town without me, and I did a tour around via the caches I was after. It would have been nice to have the time to get all the Y2Caches here, but I only have time for the two in town. The other two - maybe next visit...Two DNFs annoyed me immensely, but that's often the name of the game. Got to the brewery (and found a free parking spot) well before my compatriots - they walked in last minute. And I was the only one to see the old cable car station - the benefits of tourism via caching. I later (ie sunset) took my friends to a lookout I'd visited grabbing a Virtual - they were mightily impressed. After dinner, I managed to grab two more near the rail station.Tomorrow is the drive back and flight home. I'll have to find something en route.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###And the first DNF.We'd visited a friend of one of my compatriots for dinner last night, and done past this area - noting its unique look. So I thought I'd return for the two challenge caches here.No sign of it. Probably something obvious I'm missing.

Que Sera fulfills challenge Quacking Bike 100 challenge (Dunedin) (GC83M8E) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC83M8E/40803My husband and i are on holidays from BrisbAne Australia and after finding a challenge cache yesterday and getting rained out which is not a bad thing as i wanted to take my husband here today on our way to Christchurch. We parked close by and once at GZ we spotted the hide using the hint. Oh so cute . Giving this a FP for cuteness and the bike riding challenge as bike riding is my fav hobby. Thanks Natalie247 for all the fun

Well MrMagoo72 and I don't have any stories about how we cycled to earn this challenge, but we did walk along the cycleway, taking our lives in our hands some of the time, as many e-bikes sped by stealthily without ringing their bells to warn of their approach, despite the large signs on the pathway. However, we have hired e-bikes in the past and cycled out to Port Chalmers and back before the cycleway was completed and it is certainly so much safer now that cyclists don't have to compete with huge timber-bearing trucks for road space. This was a pretty quick find, but nicely hidden. TFTC. Natst je vrchol drive in. Staila anabze s poslednmi 50 m ke kece. Tern pern. Heben kopce pokryt kameny a soustavnou zelen typu kle a sukulenty. After an exhausting hunt for an old cache on Mt. Cargill, I had a relaxing drive-in hunt for a few challenges, which I usually meet. Nevermind! Can't say I use my bike a whole lot anymore - definitely planning on hiring an e-bike in the summer however.

Today the checker told me I’d qualified for this challenge- I haven’t been on a bike since I started geocaching last year though. Still, I’m happy to log this; I like using the walkway and so spied the cache quite some time ago.

We were visiting Deane’s family today who are just up the hill from this cache so an afternoon wander along the cycle track was in order. We checked our eligibility for this cache and it’s neighbour a while ago and we got the tick and this cache was a quick find in a clever wee spot. TFTC, we love these challenge types of caches.

Visiting Dunedin for the weekend as one of the kids has their final degree exhibition. This afternoon attended the GIFF to meet up with some local cachers. Afterwards borrowed a bike and cycled out to Sawyers Bay where we are staying. Great to be on two wheel and collecting some smiley. Two of my favourite hobbies. Located this one fairly quickly. Cache and log all fine. Checked we qualified for this one. Thanks Natalie for the smiley.

As the country enters Level 4 (lockdown), https://covid19.govt.nz

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand

To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.

Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Stay home, stay safe and save lives.
