It was a pleasant walk to GZ from where I parked this morning. If there is one thing the rail trail needs, it's a bit more shade . At least the steep slopes are made easy with the concrete path.
We wondered why the grass was flattened so much here. It was too much for a geo trail then we discovered a steaming Patty. Must be a resting place for our bovine friends. Mr Herbz made the find. TFTC
Parked at a road further along this track and walked back to this one while MRS K did some birding, quick find once at the GZ Signed log kingfisherau 12:05 pm 22/5/2024 and replaced all as found,Brother Colin - TFTC.
Beardman75, Peppa and I set out to complete another section of the BVRT today. JDavs was once again our awesome support crew but this time she had the company of a muggle friend, soon to be converted cacher. We started in Toogoolawah and headed upin more ways than oneaiming to get as far as we could peddle until we couldnt peddle anymoremaybe if some of us had touring modeHeaded into scrub and spied a suspicious feature. All good here. Tftc Brother ColinFind #5975
Had a break before tackling the gully and quickly spied a SPOR. Thanks for the cache Brother Colin
Brother Colin I found your cache Moore on 27/9/2023, 3:45 pm. This is my find 6058 and find # 6 today. A quick and easy find after noticing a SPOR. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Having travelled through western NSW, the meander through south western QLD has begun. No fixed route, just wherever the mood (okay, and I'll be honest, the caches ) guide me
All caches are in good condition unless otherwise noted
Thanks so much Brother Colin for putting out and maintaining this cache and for making taking me to new places to discover enjoy.

Nothing to be found, looked for ages. Was determined but wasn’t as it seemed to be an easy find
There was nothing to be found, looked for an hour. No description of item at all either
Been a couple of month's since this baby was found. Happy new year fellow cachers. TFTC
A slightly longer walk here but fewer cyclists. A quick find. Thanks for the cache
A huge cache with loads of interesting things inside. A perfect add to our road trip. I'd call it a 'large'. Quick find, involves a little bit of climbing but nothing extremely hard, even for untrained people. Spectacular flowers around. TFTC.
Out enjoying a country drive and I decided to stop and find this good sized cache…
A pleasant enough walk in, despite the best efforts of the flies… I followed Geepers, working out I’d left the trail to early when I spied quite the SPOR…
Tftc… it was nice to watch the dragonflies dance around the water…

I wasn't planning on getting this geocache this trip. The name alone had me conjuring up all manner of nasty black and white bird attacks.
Also, in the few hundred metres approaching gz were several swoopers.
Not to mention a gully i had to cross.
All this added up to disastrous effect sometime early this afternoon.
But then,
With a branch grasped firmly in one hand waving it around like a mad fool, all the while howling like a banshee, some sort of bloodcurdling warcry i steamed on through down up and above letting out an almighty woop before collapsing in the grass and rolling around in gales of laughter.
Both, none or either of these things happened.
Signed sealed and delivered.
Thanks brother colin.

Day 3 of 10 – Esk to Moore – Long day!! Cache 8. Riding our deadly treadlies from Esk to Moore was a really big challenge for us, especially me a non-rider. I was mentally stuffed by the time I reached Moore. Physically okay – just mentally shattered. We had ridden 53 kms that day – not much for some but enough for me. I was pleased that this cache was an easy find and pleased that we were staying the night in Moore and no further pedalling was required. We camped in the free roadside park in the middle of town. TFTC.
I was travelling past on the way to Kingaroy today and had to stop in to finally collect a smilie here. This green box has sat alone in a sea of smilies for ages; so today I took the short detour, parked up and strolled down the rail trail to gz. A quick find and sign and back on the road. Tfyc Brother Colin
I'm glad the two big boys didn't object to me passing through. Once at GZ I figured there wouldn't be too many hiding places for a regular. Thanks for the pleasant walk, CO.
After a beautiful weekend at bunya mountains my husband and I were on our way back to Brisbane and decided to pick up some smileys on the way. We found a park in the side street not far away and saw some big bulls just watching us as we walked by. At gz we saw a spor and sure enough there was the cache. Thanks for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
Hoofed it out along the RT from Moore.....found this cache. Stopped to admire the workmanship of the bridge footing. Thanks for the.touch of hygiene. TFTC
Today we're taking a slightly different route home and picking up a few smileys along the way. We've hearts of this trail but never spent any time ppoon it, so this was our introduction. We weren't certain where to park but soon found somewhere and had a short walk on a warm afternoon to find the cache. Left a TB that wants to be near water. I hope there's some soon for it to see.

Out today with my Geobuddy to get the my final 4 old caches To complete the Oldest and Finest challenge. We found the ones I needed to find. My plan was to get her final old cache to.
Halfway up to Nanango she told me the cache we had aimed to do for her. She had already found. Boohoo I was hoping for us to finish together.
We had a good day caching.
Ended up finding 15 caches for today. This one was a extra for the day.
Sorry for the generic post
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC Brother Colin *381* streak. *2260* Finds

Out to collect another few waypoints on the BVRT Multi on my way to Crows Nest and the Rural Safari tomorrow. I was parking at Moore today and riding back to the first D'Aguilar Highway Crossing and then back up as far as I could with my time limit.
I have never ridden this section of the trail before. On my past visits you had to ride the back roads on this section, from Moore to Toogoolwah. Nice to be able to stay off the roads all the way now. [^]
A nice quick find here thanks

Today we rode the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Moore to Elk which provided the opportunity to seek out 6 geocaches of which I found 5, not being willing to spend more than a few minutes in each search. This cache was a straightforward find, being within a few metres of the coordinates. Thank you Brother Colin for installing and maintaining this cache.
Back on shank's pony to find this cache and enjoy the rail trail. We passed a cyclist on this section that we had passed earlier in the day, not sure what he thought of us now walking in the opposite direction. With great co-ords this one was a quick find.
Our last for the rail trail for us on this trip as we need to keep moving north as we are booked into a tour of Cape York. SL TFTC

There was a few very large bulls on the trail today. Luckily they seemed not to be worried about what we were doing.

We thought we'd take a short cut from the road, not a great idea, got covered in cobbler pegs and then geomum #aluap28 got stuck on the fence and i was rendered helpless from laughter. We got out and tackled from the rail trail side. Them some big bulls in the paddock but they had no care about us. This one was a true adventure tftc
Geo daughter decided to try a short cut didn’t work, covered in prickles and the barb wire fence was a bit of a hazard got stuck ️no help from geo daughter as she was laughing so hard. tftc
Doing a ride from Toogoolawah to Moore and back and made the find. THANKS FOR THE CACHE.
We rode past the cache yesterday in our eagerness to complete the BVRT multi Realised our mistake but no one was keen on backtracking. One of the Wagtails was sprung by a passing cyclist whilst taking a, er, restroom break in the long grass.
Today I had time to scoot along the trail and log this cache A quick find at GZ Took a scant 10 minutes to complete the task. Now it’s time to roll on home.
TFTC BC, and for hiding these caches for us to find

**The 5 Stage**
Started out from Raceview yesterday to commence “UP - BVRT End 2 End” and collect a few caches along the way.
Day 1 was along the first section from Wulkuraka and the second stage which terminated at Esk.
Day 2 has has been on the third and fourth stages of the Brisbane Valley line opened in 1904 with the line extended to Toogoolawah (via Ottaba) and Yimbun. With the completion of the Yimbun tunnel in 1910, the line’s fifth stage was opened to Linville and stops were established at Harlin, Nurinda and Moore.

After a stop in Moore for lunch, our wet BVRT adventure moves on. Thanks to Kai lounge for taking in 15 wet muddy riders for a yummy lunch. TFTC
Parked up where the rail trail crossed Arababy Creek Road and wandered down to GZ, spotted a likely hide after a couple of minutes. All good with the cache. TFTC Brother Colin
(FTF) Wow another blank log book.
The story of the day starts here. I left Nanango at 0645 and arrived home at 1600 hours. The ride back from the Benarkin BVRT Cache did my leg in and I suffered for the rest of the day. Not wanting to give up. There were 6 of Brother Colin's BVRT new ones and a new multi of HippyDonna's down near Toogoolawah as well. For the BVRT ones I used the Bike for three and walked to three. A story will be attached to each cache. total distance for the Bike ones was 10.7 Klm and the walking distance ones was 1.640. Total distance for cache finding was 12.340 and the total distance my Geomobile drove from Nanango to Nanango was 185 Klm. Oh and I better say that I had 3 FTF's on the BVRT ones and Hippydonna's was a FTF as well.
Drove through Moore and found a road to my left that brought me to the rail trail crossing. 430 meters to GZ so I decided to walk. Nice pleasant walk and one steep creek crossing. Had a look at the GPSr and spied a feature and thought that would be an ideal spot for this sized container and it was. Signed log and replaced container where found and now the 430 meter back to the car and my left leg is saying enough but my brain is saying not yet.

Saw this had not been logged at lunchtime so took a drive out and a wander down to this one.
Not much left of the rail here.
Opened the logbook to see Youngoldfella had just been here 2 hours before us.
Signed the log after him.
