Riding the BVRT from Wulkuraka to Coominya with Farket today. They were happy enough to stop a few times and find some caches along the way.
A nice easy find before peddling off again. Tftc Brother Colin

My plan today was to check out the start of the BVRT and find a few multi WP'S for a future ride along the whole trail with muggle friends in a few weeks. I found the WP at the posted then this cache and off to find more WP' s for the multi. Thanks to help from brother Colin along the way. Can't wait to come back and do the whole trail
9996 Left Bargara at 5.30am to journey to Brisbane arriving there at 1.30 pm. Plan is to find some caches on the way down. Thought this route would be much easier than trying to battle the traffic on the Bruce Highway
Parked up on the road and walked down to this one. Not that far to walk on a sultry day. I thought I had found this one months ago as I was with some geocaching friends but apparently my name was not in the log. I soon had my yof in the log. TFTC Brother Colin.

Tftc brother Colin, one day we might finish getting all the caches on the BVRT, but not today !!
Having a drive on the less travelled road today.
We have a few target caches on the list today

It was a late start today, but I ultimately decided that this rare day of sunshine was to good to pass up… So heading west I did a loop that included Laidley, Atkinson Dam, Esk, Fernvale and finally Blacksoil…
Every time I’ve been coming south on the Brisbane Valley Highway it’s been after a huge day out somewhere and this cache has always been put in the “another day” pile… today is “another day”…
Following what others have done, I parked up and walked the last couple of hundred metres despite what Renaldo was telling me I could do…
A quick find at GZ… to repeat others, not my first BVRT cache, and no where near my last…

Relatively quick stop by today on our drive through to Lowood. Not the first cache we've found on the BVRT, and probably not the last. We parked at the nearby entrance, and walked up a couple of hundred meters to make the find.
Quick walk and cache found safe and dry. We do plan to ride this trail this year.
Today, the plan was to kayak Lake Wivenhoe. I met a group of enthusiastic Geocachers readying their boats, and we set off to attend the kayaking event, and then continue to find a variety of geocaches hidden around the lake. Following the grueling expedition, we had a bakery late lunch nearby, and then I found a few geocaches on my return back, including the completion of *Historical landmarks of Goodna* Adventure Lab.
On the way back from Lake Wivenhoe, and like other visitors here like chamad, I noticed that this cache wasn't too far along from a street that I could park the car, and so I took the park, and made the jog along this section of the rail trail to GZ. The cache was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. It won’t be long before the tree branch will outgrow this cable tie around the tree, and likely break. Thanks Brother Colin for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Day 1 of 10 – Walkaraka to Lowood Cache 6. Whilst the rest of the family rode off, Mrs EMC went to find this one. Thankfully it was quick to locate so the family didn’t get too far ahead. So far so good with caching, and the riding is going well. TFTC.
With a couple of days free to cache and a new kayak to try out, a plan was set with Team Tyrrell and Nayfee. We were going to hit Lake Manchester via kayaks, then overnight camping stay at Wivenhoe. Then in the morning, a quick paddle around Wivenhoe before heading home to our pre-organised afternoon/evening events.
As usual it was a fun filled time; we grabbed our target caches as well as a few as we passed by. “There’s always time for one more cache” seemed to be the theme for the trip, lol. The highlight of the trip was our campsite and one we didn’t want to leave. A very nice view, a curry and a bottle of port for dinner, some stories and laughs around a well maintained campfire, neither of us really wanted to leave.
After a good morning on the dam we started our way back home. We noticed this one and decided to go for a little walk and grab it. After doing the trail a while back, I didn’t realise that the trail extended this far around so we decided to go for a walk and grab this one. A little search around and we soon had the cache in hand. With log signed and cache replaced as found we were soon on our way to see what else we can get on the way home.

As Chamad and I were heading back home through Fernvale we kept an eye on any caches we could quickly swing by and grab and that's when we noticed this one was a short distance from the main road so we took a slight detour to grab it. With the car parked at the start of the trail we made our way towards GZ which was only 200 metres away and spotted the container very quickly. With the log sign and the cache back in place we were on our way.

Nice to bag a cache after walking a section of the BVRT. Cache in good condition. TFTC
Out with the 8 yo Geoneice after school. Fading light and she missed it the first time, but after some encouragement was able to spot the hide. All is good here TFTC
Stopped off here to add to the Brother Colin finds list along the rail trail and thanks to a break in the rain we were able to make a find here. All good here. TFTC Brother Colin
Covid 19 restrictions relaxation means we can go to Fernvale Bakery just (49 km from home). Get some yummy treats and grab a cache. Thanks for the cache
Found on our 2019 mega trip from NSW to QLD for winter with Roostaman.

Today we rode the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Esk to Ipswich which provided the opportunity to seek out 5 geocaches of which I found all 5. This cache was a straightforward find, being within a few metres of the coordinates. Thank you Brother Colin for installing and maintaining this cache.
Camping at Lowood for a few days to do some cycling and caching quick find all good with cache TFTC
We did this cache some time in early May and today we had it downloaded again to do, until, we arrived at a suitable place to park and we soon realised that we have already found it just hanging around. SL TFTC
Out for a pedal along the BVRT today. A beautiful winter day to be out on the trail. A later than intended start, so not sure how far we will get today. Hopefully collect a few of the WPs for the multi as we go.
A nice quick find at this one thanks.
A nice quick find at this one thanks.
Last weekend was excruciatingly boring medically-induced sitting around at home and occasionally glancing out at the balcony to admire my shiny new MTB tyres. Doing nothing tries my patience somewhat but a tricky puzzle got solved on the couch
Beaut sunny winter’s day so set off to do nearby cache maintenance, then went for a spin from this location along the BVRT into Ipswich and back. The tyres went well and, surprisingly, after a week of inactivity so did I
An easy find here and back on the trail.

Started out from Raceview this morning to commence “UP - BVRT End 2 End” and collect a few caches along the way.
The first section from Wulkuraka to Lowood was opened on 16 June 1884 and stops were established at Muirlea, Pine Mountain, Borallon, Wanora, Fairney View, Fernvale, Vernor and Lowood. Originally known as "Stinking Gully", Fernvale acquired that name in 1875. The spot became a regular camping place on the road from Ipswich to Esk.
This cache is actually much closer to the original Borallon station the first actual crossing station on the branch after the mainline.

Last day of the Brisbane valley rail trail. I had ridden 130kms in 3 days from yarraman to lowood. I was pretty tired but wanted acouple of caches before heading home. I stopped the group and cheated at this one and used the pof option tftc
Out for a few hours on a solo run
After collecting a cache at College's Crossing my plan was to head north to Pine Mountain and grab this cache (it's a lonely green box in a sea of smileys ) but a look at the map reminded me of BC's new multi. It wasn't too much of a detour to have a look at the start of that, and I figured I might be heading in the right direction...
An hour or so later I am finally wandering to this one's GZ, and the cache was a quick find. TFTC, BC.

I was out on the rail trail this morning chasing an epic multi and happened to be passing by this one so I had to stop and grab it. A quick find.
Thanks for the cache Brother Colin. This was find #4043.

I haven't been on the rail trail since the Yarraman to Wulkaraka bicycle ride last July, but today was a good day to change that! Today I walked from James Road to old Pine Mountain station where I remember there was a radio checkpoint back in July. But enough of reminiscences! The Cache! Not too far to walk from James road, and an easy find. Added my name to the log and replaced. Strange I am only the 4th to log this - everyone must be afraid of the heat. Come on fellow cachers - give Brother Colin some encouragement! TFTC, Bro Colin. I thought old Wanora Station was further on towards Fernvale.
We are a pair of Grey Nomads permanently travelling and geocaching around OZ. After breakfast at the Fernvale Bakery there was time to find this new cache before returning to Karrabin where we are staying. TFTC,
We needed to head east into Brisbane town this arvo so we allowed time to take a little detour to this new cache. Nice one.
Thanks for this cache Brother Colin.
Thanks for this cache Brother Colin.
Omg, I got a FTF in Ipswich. Everyone must be sleeping. I went through 3 school zones and was sure I would miss out. Thanks brother Colin and I had my pen this trip. I never see an empty log book in this area.
