We are on a caravanning trip around Australia checking out the sights and finding a few caches along the way. We had stayed the night in the park and after a night of rain we headed out on an overcast day to check out this beach and do a bit of a walk. Must be a great beach when it's a nice sunny day.
Drove to squeaky beach after doing the tidla river walk. We liked walking behind the boulders
One thing is for certain, this spot was a 100% favourite for the kids. Loved it. We all did, even the 1 year old. It also answered a question for me. Why the squeak? Yet still, why is this the only beach? Or is there more squeakies out there. Wasn't too packed here either. Thanks BFMC for the ripper EC. FP from us!
Message sent with answers, then realised I'd forgotten to send one of the answers... sorry, a second message has now been sent.Lovely walk to and from the beach, and along the squeaky sand. Thanks for placing this earthcache.
Chewbacca72 and I are traveling during 4 months through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. A few caches that are on our way should not be missing. This cache is one of them. Many thanks to BFMC for this cool earthcache.Best regards, searchersab
Down at Wilson's Prom with DAB for a few hikes and a couple of ECs being the weekend for it. Haven't been down this way for ages. Amazing weather for it. The beach was somewhat busy and we enjoyed hitting the white sand to gather the answer we needed. I think the legs may have been just a shade darker than the sand, need the sun to change that. No time for sunbathing even though I brought along my bikini. Thanks for the EC, answers sent.
Logging now after visit early Sept. Person almost sitting at GZ so would have been puzzled by my actions signing in the sand and my wife taking photo. Most likely thought we were strange NZers. Tftec
Spending a few days at Wilsons prom. doing some amazing walks and talking the opportunity to get some great caches. This one was a great one. TFTC
Was fr ein super schner Strand! Vielen Dank frs Herfhren! Wir waren hier ganz allein
A great beach and an enjoyable walk. Photo posted (OB for ozishbob) and answers to be sent...Thanking you for the Earthcache that you placed BFMC
I visited Squeaky Beach on the 7th of May as part of a family trip to The Prom. I have many good memories from The Prom as a kid and I thought it was well and truly time to start creating some memories of our own with my kids! Squeaky Beach was a favourite spot to come and after a stroll along the beach we constructed the obligatory dam across the creek and made sandcastles before calling it a day. Thanks for the informative cache!
Camping with my family for 5 days.We all really enjoy walk along Squeaky Beach from Tidal River campsite.Magnificent!Stopped here for kids play with sands. Thanks for earthcache.
On day three of our our twelve day spring break in Australia, it was time for us to go camping. Yesterday we did some shopping and drove down from Melbourne to spend two nights camping in the Promontory. With our tent up, an evening of wine and wombats, we had a great evening although with a chilling evening we werent used to from Myanmar. Our friends Heith and Julia said that coming to this park meant a hike up to Mount Oberon was mandatory while here. After waking up we took the bus from camp and then it was on us to do the 7 kilometer, 2:10 hour long hike up to the top (and bottom). It was certainly a wonderful and exciting adventure, and we were happy to get back down to our base. However once we got down to the base, Tommy was a little too exhausted and needed to take a nap. During that time, Laura, Heith and Julia went for a walk to the surrounding area, to visit the squeaky beach. [insert Lauras typed log]Laura alone got the answers and drafted them down, snapping a few photos at the beach at 3:59 pm, making this our 7088th overall find. Thank you BFMC for placing and maintaining your Singing Sand stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Tuesday while in Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant Myanmar! For my own personal statistics; this is the eleventh of 112 geocaches we visited while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited.
Out in the area for a few days. This was a lovely area to explore and beautiful beach to walk along. Answers submitted to CO.Thanks BFMC for placing this earth cache, highlighting this lovely beach.
Camped at Tidal river for the weekend, what an absolutely stunning spot! Plenty of wildlife to see. Hiked to Oberon bay the day before and finished the trip with a visit to Squeaky beach and a swim at Whisky bay. TFTC!
Found with geohubby gmj3191 during a camping holiday at Tidal River - my "happy place". He has submitted the required answers for both of us and my photo is attached. Thanks for bringing us here. The sand was squeaking nicely for us.
Find # 8,487 for me on 20 Feb 2024 at 1:07pm. Pam and I are camping down here for a few days with our little caravan prior to taking it to Canberra at Easter for the Mega. We've been coming down here most years since we were married, and Pam before that, since she was a young child, with her family. We visited the info centre first, and then went down to Australia's most beautiful beach (at the recent vote). We noticed "aussiejan" written in the sand so will be expecting a log from her soon. We wrote our names in the sand and took the photo, then spent some time enjoying the views before we left. A fav point from m. Thanks BFMC, for giving back to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
A beautiful beach and a very interesting earth cache. Today it was very crowded, but I could take the foto with my name written in the sand. Thanks says js333
**#17'545** During my visit to Australia I went to the Wilson Prom with my family and enjoyed some nice walks around the national park. This Earthcache **Singing sand** was also on my bucket list To do the research and the tasks needed for this Earthcache was great fun and not very difficult to do Especially creating a picture in the sand I enjoyedI honor it with a little blue heart ! Its my first EC in Australia !Thanks BFMC, for taking me to this great location and for the interesting EC-Listing . We have been for a bit of a drive today since it was a rainy wet day. Found a few caches around the place. Ending our day trip here in Wilsons Prom.
Down the coast for a week so visiting The Prom was high in the list. I promised the kids squeaky sand… but it fell short of our hopes as the rain poured down! But we still came in, jumped creeks and enjoyed the visit. After warming up at the visitor centre we walked up from Tidal River for the fab views of Squaly Beach from a different vantage point. The rain got us again but that all added to the adventure. Answers sent! Thanks for the fun and adventure. Fav added! We will be back to try again.
Today we had a great day in Wilson Prom National Park. First we went on a hike to Squeaky Beach, Picinic Bay and Whiskey Bay. Then we walked up to Mt. Bishop and the end was the wildlife walk. It is a really amazing place here and we regret, that we cannot stay longer.
Squeaky Beach remebered us on a Beach near Esperance (Lucky Bay), which we had visited about three years ago.
Unfortunately the sign about the hooded plovers was not at its place anymore, but we found another one on our hike to whiskey bay.
Thanks for the cache and regards from Switzerland (answers were sent)

Found with Ilukaperi. I have been here before, a stunning spot. Thanks for bringing me here again.
With 2 weeks off work, and my car at the mechanics, there weren't many options of places I could go, my plans had all bombshelled. Luckily I'd organised to cache with day1976 over this weekend, and a post popped up with someone giving away their prom campsite, so I took it.
After climbing Mt Oberon yesterday, I had a sore hip flexor so I wasnt up for more big hikes unfortunately.
It was a drizzly morning, and a bit windy, but I wanted to make the most of the prom, so headed down to the beach that squeaks.
We had a bit of an explore, and did some squeaking. We misread Q1 and didn't get the background in for our names, but I've sent the CO a photo of the rocks and creek I took while we were there.

A lovely afternoon had walking along the sand splashing in the water and getting a few zen moments in on a few of the awesome rocks. What an awesome place.
While on our base camp with the bush walking club this was the second bay for the day and its my favourite. Made sure it sand as we got to gz.
Thanks to the CO I can log this cache. A very lovely walk from the campsite to here. I really enjoyed the Wilson Promontory area. TFTC and all the hard work to make an earthcache
Nearly did all answers including a photo but didn't write name in sand. I should have read logging requirements better. I have limited mobile data. Visiting from England, enjoyed lovely walk and scenery
came to thus beautiful part of Wilsons Prom early in the morning. No crowds. what a lovely place!
Finally able to log this as we forgot to last time we were at the Prom! Beautiful place, TFTC!!
We are spending a few days at the Prom and headed to Squeaky Beach to show the youngest why it is called squeaky beach. It may have also been an excuse to do this EC...
We had beautiful weather for our visit and spent over an hour playing on the beach. A few drawings and sandcastles later I headed over to complete the first stage of the EC.
This EC gets a FP from me. TFTC BMFC

A great view from an interesting beach at an interesting place. Well done on your idea! Hope you can read my caching name on the sand
Our first weekend of regional lockdown freedom, so we headed to one of our favourite places on earth. It was windy and wet, but oh so good for the soul! We’ve sent our answers to the CO. Thanks for the Earthcache
come to the beach
come to the beach
hear the magic singing sands
the promotional material for this stretch of beach sells quite a message
an aural miracle with every footstep
but it is missing an asterisk:
* Warning: sands will not sing if wet.
so expecting a sandy symphony, the recent rains left us a little disappointed
but no matter
still a magic beach

Found with Little Gem Rosie and Paula Poobear. Walked from Tidal River. I’ll send answers to questions when we get back. TFTC
This took two goes to get a the visitor centre was shut when I was here last time do glad I am back here three months later. I brought along a friend who had never been here and predictably she loved it. Thanks for putting together this cache
Walked across from Tidal River and checked out squeaky beach
Interesting to find out about the sand

What a fascinating place this is! TFTC. My only regret here is that I didn't take a video of the squeaking singing sand.
Pleased to see this pop up since my last visit! Great spot for an Earth Cache and to learn something new and unimagined such as "Sand Fact". A really wild and wooley day with dramatic and intimidating waves crashing, the tide coming in and daring people to stay onshore. TFTC and the info.
First walk of the weekend and what better than the traditional walk here from Tidal River? Plenty to explore and a quick swim. Even though I've been here before I had to go to the tourist info to learn the cache answers - thanks BFMC for teaching me something.
It's been 5 years since we were here last (my daughter was still a baby). We quickly found the answer and the kids helped us writing the names in the sand. Logged together with emandel. TFTC!
We visited the Prom way back in February this year nearly 5 months ago so it has taken a long time to finally log this cache.
We recorded our answers and promptly forgot where we had done this. Turned out we had recorded them along with the required photo on the app as a draft. We finally found this today so this we are logging.
It was a great few days ands little did we know that Covid 19 would have us locked away at home for so long.
We enjoyed revisiting many oft visited places and even took the cruise down to the southern tip.
Thank you for another Earthcache in this magnificent place.

Every trip home we play the ‘favourite cache of the day?’ game, and I have to say we were unanimous on this one being our fav, and a well deserved fav point at that! The beach here is fantastic and definitely has something of interest for everyone! Will send answers through shortly. Signed beach, TFTC
On Hottest 100 Day (25th Jan) four muggles and one geocacher headed up to Wilsons prom for a weekend of adventure. Fair to say the cacher had the bigger adventure. While my friends lounged on the beach on the 26th, I decided to clear out as much of the prom as possible. We previously came here in November where we did the more remote tracks and the east side. Today was time for the west. And hike i did! 35km hiked in 7 hours. Absolutely loved every minute of it. Had never seen squeaky sand before and loved having this earth cache to learn more about it. Thanks for the great earth cache.
Logged as Team Aussie together with Djali and Toad2Ryu. Thanks for this cache! See log Djali for details.
Of course we had to go onto Squeaky Beach when visiting Wilsons Prom! Such a lovely place to be! Answers send by me Djali, for all of us Djali, Profion, Toad2Ryu and our kids.
Favo for this earth cache!

Ticked this one off last weekend but forgot to send through the details. Lovely part of the world.... TFTC
This cache has now moved my most southerly cache a few kilometres further - worth the drive. TFTC
On our holiday and visiting relativs we were on that nice beach. It was easy to find the answers.
Thanks for the Cache!

No flies today, so we could spend some time on this lovely beach, very different from Norman beach! I listened carefully and could really hear the sand squeak . I've sent the answers and added a photo.
On a short camping trip away from the hustle and bustle with the GeoKids. Our first time to this beach and the first time to the area for the GeoKids. We spent considerable time meandering around, between, and over the rocks. Absolutely loved it. FP from us. TFTC BFMC
After having breakfast at the campground, we’ve been for a walk to Pillar Point. On our way back we’ve been heading down to Squeaky Beach, but just for a quick view. Thousands of sandflies were harassing us at the shoreline. So we had to get away as soon as possible. Writing my nickname including taking a photo had to be done in less than 30 seconds .
Sad because of this amazing spot. We gladly would have been enjoying it a little longer.

I haven’t been here since a dark stormy winter in 2005. And before that, who knows when.
But today, wow!!!
The crisp white sand. Crystals clear water. It was absolutely sensational!! The kids and I were just stopping past on our way home from a night camping so not prepared at all. We all wished we could have stayed all day.

We decided to go the long way around to this beach, taking the kids on a walk from tidal river and enjoying the views along the way. After working up a sweat, the cool Victorian water was perfect for a play around and then a walk along this iconic beach and some drawing in the sand before heading back. Thanks for the neat EC design BFMC, answers submitted.
What a great spot, thanks for showing. Impressive beach and rocks. Thanks to the owner for it's quick reply. TFTC
#1626 A quick weekend visit to Wilson's Prom. A bit late in catching up on my logging (it is now 7/10/19) but have submitted my answers to the CO today. TFTC.
In the Proms for only two days. Way too short, but not too short for some geocaching. Since earth caches are my favorite, I had to log this one, far from home (NL). Learned a lot about sand and it’s sounds! Thanks for this cache, team SBNR
A glorious winters day and our plans were changed thanks to a message alerting me to this new Earthcache and the chance of getting a {FTF} to keep a rather short streak running.
I’ve been visiting The Prom for more than 60 years and this beach has been a favourite all that time.
I hoped my sore knees, hip and heel can withstand the short walk from the carpark. Thanks for the Earthcache at this awesome beach.
The beach has changed so much since I was last here!

Being stuck at home...
Dreaming away behind our computer thinking of past holidays and geocaching...
We were here one day. Unfortunately, this cache wasn't in place yet at the time...
Just a write note to have a nice memory on the place!
